thank you alex for the help!

ed1505  asked:

Kara rescuin an orphan alien baby during a mission with the DEO and deciding to take care of her/him. Alex helping her with the baby and falling in love with him/her and even more in love with Kara as a mother. ;)

It’s a spur of a moment decision, really, and before she fully comprehends what she’s doing she’s already flying from the scene, baby clutched tightly to her chest.
What surprises her even more, or, maybe it shouldn’t have surprised her after all, is that she doesn’t go back to the DEO. Instead, she finds herself at home, standing in the middle of her and Alex’s living room, baby still in her arms, shaken out of her daze when the little girl starts squirming in her arms.
And that’s when it really sinks in for her. The baby in her arms, still very much a tiny, squirmy newborn, really, had been left behind when they had to take down its mother, an act that had left all of them shaken up, and as her instincts had kicked in Kara had picked the girl up to take her away from the gruesome scene while the others were still cleaning up after the fight that had ensued.
Alex had watched her take off, had wanted to shout after her, but she was too fast, of course, and somehow she had just known where she would find her.

So, she isn’t surprised when she finds Kara at home, but she is most definitely surprised by the look of fear written across her face when she slowly turns to her, her body suddenly very still, her features tense.
“Kara, hey - is everything okay?”, she carefully approaches her, wondering what was frightening the blonde so much.
“Alex-”, Kara just breathes out as she looks up at her and then back down at the baby.
“She’s so tiny”, she eventually whispers and it’s then that realization dawns on Alex.

“It’s okay, Kara, you won’t break her”, Alex’ voice is gentle and she comes to stand right in front of Kara and carefully runs her fingers over the girl’s head, touching soft baby hair, taking it all in.
“But- she’s so fragile, Alex. How-”, words fail her as she keeps staring at the girl in her arms, who is starting to drift off again, surrounded by Kara’s warm body and Alex’ gentle touch.
“She’s okay, Kara, you’re okay. She’s safe and she’s okay. She trusts you”, a soft smile crosses Alex’ face at that and she watches Kara hold the girl, so gentle, so soft.

It’s then that Kara finally seems to relax and she lets out a long breath, letting Alex help her adjust her hold on the girl as she finally falls asleep.
“Alex, I-”, Kara’s voice falters and a look in stormy blue eyes tells Alex what she’s trying to say.
“I want to keep her, Alex, I want to give her a home”, at this her voice finally cracks and the pain becomes evident, the pain of a girl who was alone when she came to earth, who had no one to look out for her, to care for her, to love her, until she had found a family, a home, in Alex and her parents.

Alex’ first instinct is fear, the overwhelming feeling that they weren’t ready for this, not yet, their lives were always at risk, their relationship still adjusting to the changes. But then, there probably wasn’t a better place for this little girl. A place with people who could protect her, love her, raise her and who could tell her that it was okay to be different in a world where aliens were often hated and hunted for their differences.

And then there was Kara, sweet, gentle, soft Kara. So scared a moment ago, so tender now, as she stared down at the sleeping baby in her arms, all tension drained from her body, a gentle strength taking its place instead.
It was perfect, Alex decided, Kara, the girl, them. A family. They could be a family. Alex knew that Kara had longed for this for so long, a family of her own, and this girl seemed to complete them in a way Alex hadn’t thought would be possible.
So instead of worrying, instead of telling Kara about the extent of this decision, she just wraps her arms around her, around them, and whispers, ever so softly “welcome home, baby girl”.

I’m crying real trans tears at this…. my whole life I was taught that I was disgusting and unnatural for being trans so to see a kid so openly and happily accept the idea of being gender fluid… I don’t really know how to react other than to just burst into happy tears…
I don’t care if you love or hate Rick Riordan and his writing style, representation is IMPORTANT, especially from such a hugely popular author. Just reading the Magnus Chase series has made me swell with happiness and pride, and seeing it positively effect kids (the target audience cough cough…) is more than I have ever imagined.
Thank you, Rick Riordan, for helping to make the world better by educating our youths, and especially at such a dangerous time.

Justin would always catch you on your way to school so you two could walk in together “Morning, beautiful” “Sup, Foley”

Being a new transfer student to Liberty High, you were surprised to have received an invite to the upcoming weekend house party. Despite parties not being your favourite social setting you figured it would be the best way to meet new people and make friends. Here, you met Alex. The boy with the impeccable fashion taste and sarcastic tongue. “Hey, it’s Y/N right?” “Yeah, Alex? I think you’re in my music class?” “ That’s me, it’s nice to see someone with some social depth at one of these things” “Thanks, I’m guessing you’re having copious amounts of fun then?” “It’s a party, so I’m pretending to have fun. Over the summer your parents had practically forced you to take a job at the towns local theatre, in an attempt to help grow your independence as well as simply getting you out of the house; a decision you honestly didn’t feel too fondly about. The only positive to your first day at work was meeting Clay. Clay Jenson. He was adorably awkward and sweet, making you physically unable to stop smiling whenever you were around him. Somehow this one guy made the rest of your working summer seem exciting. “Hey Clay, maybe I was wrong. Maybe this summer won’t suck that much after all.” “It won’t, well… not if I can help it, Y/N.”

Personally, you had never had the pleasure of meeting Jeff until that unexpectedly amazing night. Clay had always admired the guy, which made Jeff’s perfect first impression to you even more genuine. The two of you instantly hit it off. “I’m sorry Jenson but where on earth have you been hiding Y/N? She’s crazy beautiful.”

That was until Mrs Bradley decided to pair you two up for a class project. Zach was a lot sweeter than you had imagined and the two of you ended up getting along really well. “Not going to lie, Y/N, I’m kinda sad this little project is over.” “Really?” “Yeah, now I need to find another good excuse to hang out with you everyday.”

Lena Luthor wasn’t usually a nervous person.  She could command an audience, she could dominate the boardroom, but right now?  She was panicking.

Honestly, Lena never really thought her friendship with Kara would reach a stage where she was slowly being introduced into the group, one by one.  Maggie had been first.  She and Lena had long since discussed the whole Maggie-arresting-Lena debacle, Maggie spending the better part of ten minutes apologising before Lena could get a word in edgewise.  She and Maggie had hit it off fairly quickly, bonding over their mutual love of Italian cuisine and various scientific magazines.

Warning: Swearing

Peer Communications was one of the subjects you looked up to everyday and you loved it because you learnt how to behave with people and how to communicate with them. You sometimes asked for help whenever you were down and needed some advices. You also studied some psychological topics and it helped you to be more empathic towards other people.

One more thing you liked about it was the notes of encouragement bag. You could write some anonymous notes to people and put it in their bag. Its purpose was to encourage people so they would value their self-esteem and their existence in this world.

You thought that the idea was amazing and innovative, because it has been awhile since you’ve been secretly receiving love letters from someone from your class. You could admit that the person perfectly cheered you up, making you more confident whenever they would leave one in your bag, but it didn’t help you to kill your curiosity to find out who the person was.

“(Y/N), you look so pretty whenever you smile and it melts me every time I see your lips curving and with those perfect white teeth of yours exposing.” Alex read that little piece of paper with a smirk as you were talking about your secret admirer.

You two were in the library with Zach and Jessica while you were waiting for your next subject: Peer Communications.

“Aw, that’s so sweet.” Jessica complimented as she took the piece of paper from Alex’s hand and read it once again, with a lower tone this time.

“It is.” You bit your lip as you tried not to smile too much because of it. “I wonder who it is.” You wouldn’t sleep sometimes because of it and, being your ultimate crush, you kind of wished that it was Zach.

“Jesus Christ, that’s too damn corny!” Zach complaint and shook his head.

“Stop being jealous, Dempsey.” You winked at him as you teased him, but you were absolutely broken hearted for his reaction. You shrugged it off since you hinted that he was having a bad day, because he just gathered his things and walked away. “Zach!” You shouted as you tried to stop him.

“Zachary Dempsey!” Jessica tried to stop him too, but he just ignored you and he got out of the library, annoyed and vexed.

“Shh!” The old and stressed librarian scolded you and you just flashed her an apologetic smile. You were embarrassed, because you got some looks from your other fellow students and you heard soft giggles from Alex.

“I’m pulling your septum ring away if you don’t stop.” You threatened him and he suddenly closed his mouth, rolling his eyes. “Just kidding, Standall!” You and Jessica then giggled silently and Alex shook his head.

“(Y/N),” Alex became serious as he looked at you, straight into your eyes. “I think he’s jealous.”

“Jealous? Who?” You corrugated your forehead as you couldn’t understand what he was talking about.

“Jesus,” He let his face fall on his hands as he unleashed a long and deep sigh. “Zach!”

“What the fuck are you saying Alex?” You snatched a piece of paper from Alex’s hand and you started to gather your things. It was impossible that Zach was jealous, how could he? Didn’t he think that those stuffs were damn corny? “Don’t think about it that way, Mr. I jump into conclusions easily.”

“Why the fuck are these people so touchy?” Alex complaint as he looked at Jessica and pointed at you. You and Jessica both chuckled because Alex thought that you were annoyed and frustrated.

“I’m not being touchy, bro!” You defended yourself and you looked at your wrist watch for the time. “We’re going to be late if you don’t get your ass up.”

“Alright, let’s go.” They started to gather their things and you all went out of the library as you headed to your next class.

“Wait, I forgot my book!” Jessica exclaimed as she was controlling the books in her bag. “(Y/N), mind joining me?”

“Oh, sure!” You smiled at her and you were about to go away, when Alex stopped you.

“I’ll go with her, go inside the class (Y/N) and save us our seats.” Alex proposed and you just shrugged it off. They both went to Jessica’s locker and you entered your room.

“Zach?” You were surprised to see Zach and he was about to put a piece of paper inside your encouragement bag. How? You thought he never liked those stuffs.

“(Y/N)!” His eyes widened as he saw you entering the room. He didn’t expect to see you and he was frightened because you caught him. “Uhm, I- I…” He stuttered and he didn’t know what to say.

“You are my secret admirer?” You corrugated your forehead as you brought your hand to your slightly opened mouth, shocked of the revelation.

“Uhm,” He wandered around the room as he felt nervous and you could see that he was blushing. “read this.” He walked closer to you and handed you the paper, instead of putting it in your bag. He was already caught in action, why would he even escape?

“Thank you.” You shyly said as you carefully accepted the paper from his hand.
You slowly opened the folded paper and you were honestly excited to read what was written in it.

Dear (Y/N),

Hi! How are you? I know that it’s been awhile since you started receiving love letters from me and your curiosity is killing you every time, I always see you frustrated after reading my notes.
Anyway, I know that I suck at writing, but I wanted to let you know that I am liking you more and more every day. I am happy to be your friend and being just a friend is enough for me, if you don’t feel the same way. I sometimes hope that you feel or will feel the same way about me too, anyway. I am keeping my fingers crossed,

Take care always,
Zach
.

You silently read the short letter as the two of you stood in the middle of your classroom. You looked at Zach and you flashed him a sweet smile. Your heartbeat was getting louder and you became nervous and enthusiastically happy at the same time.

You wondered, though, why he acted strange earlier if he felt that way? Why would he be jealous, like what Alex hypothesized? Damn, look what Alex could do at you!

“Zach, you are the sweetest person ever.” He smiled at you and he pulled you into a hug.

“I understand if you don’t feel the same way about me,” You hugged him back and you were amazed by the height difference that you both had. He was surely tall and you had to admit that you felt a little bit small. “your friendship is enough.” He murmured and you could hear in his voice that he was wishing for more.

“Zach,” You broke the hug so you could see his handsome face. “you are sweet, kind and funny. It’s not impossible to not like you back.” You honestly confessed back and you quickly saw a wide smile forming on his lips, while he fidgeted with his fingers and looking at his shoes, as if they were the most interesting things in the world.

It was true that you had a crush on him for a while now and you never had the guts to admit it because you thought that it was the boy who should do the first step. Yup, old style.

“Rosie’s tonight then?” He happily asked. “So, we can talk about it.”

“Yeah, sure!” You hyperactively nodded and he let out some soft laughs.

You and Zach stared at each other for a while and you both didn’t know what to say because the awkward atmosphere. At that moment, you hated your classmates for not coming inside the classroom until the bell rang and you hated Jessica and Alex because they were taking too much time to get the freaking damn book.

“Zach!” You suddenly blurted out as you remembered that something was bothering you. “Why did you say that those stuffs were corny if you were the one who writes them?”

“The one that Alex has read wasn’t from me.” He seemed disturbed at the thought of that little letter.

“So, you were really jealous?” You smirked as you teased him and he rolled his eyes.

“Uhm, yes,” He almost whispered as he answered your question sincerely. He looked at the ground as he tried to hide his reddish face. “because I saw that you were so happy because of it and I thought that you didn’t like me and you liked that one, instead.“ He explained and you just giggled. You didn’t know that he was that possessive and you honestly loved it. A possessive and overprotective boyfriend was what you were asking for.

“Silly!” You shook your head because he thought that you didn’t like him. “I still wonder who wrote that note though.”

“My fault!” Alex entered the classroom and winked at Zach, who was already giving him a death glare. You raised an eyebrow as you asked for explanations from that vexatious friend of yours. “I knew that he liked you and I told you that he was jealous.”

“Damn it, Standall!” Zach complaint, but Alex didn’t seem to care that much. You smiled because you understood what he tried to do and you couldn’t help but to love that idiot even more, of course, as a friend.

“Congrats!” He cheerfully teased the two of you. “By the way, I really thought that you have a really nice and perfect smile, (Y/N), and I can confirm it now.” He pointed it out as he saw you smiling widely for his actions.

You shook your head together with and stopped as soon as the bell rang. You went to your seats as the other students came inside the room. You kept on getting smirks and teasing winks from Alex, but you just threw him a crumpled paper in response.

Your favourite subject was about to start and you wanted to thank your teacher for making those bags of encouragement up. It was really a useful and a pleasant idea.

At least, it helped you to be more confident and it has got you a date for that night.

Allow me to rant about Maggie and Sanvers

When we first meet Maggie, we learned three basic things about the character: she’s an out and proud lesbian, she’s a cocky little shit, she cares a lot about people. For a while, this is all we had to hold on to. Maggie’s layers were added painstakingly slowly, and you had to pay attention to see what they were. Looking back, the traits that made Maggie Sawyer the woman we love, were always there, we just didn’t know it.

Lena just wanted a nice night out with Kara.

“Would you like to go on a date?”

It slips out. Quiet and rushed, the words forming and letting loose before she can think anything other than please say yes. Kara freezes, noodles halfway to her mouth as she looks between them, and Lena almost takes them back.

(They’ve been doing this- meetings under the guise of interviews, the latest on L-Corp- for weeks.

Somewhere, between hands brushing just so as they pass food back and forth, it’s become featherlight kisses on the corner of her mouth when Kara leaves, promises to call when the other is free and texting whenever they can.

Somewhere, Kara has went from her only friend in National City to something. Something that makes her heart race with possibility and ache with the thought of its loss if she pushes.)

things to consider; agender magnus chase

• magnus has a pretty good concept of gender and identity. he always has, at least, when it comes to others - reading himself has always been a little harder for him.

• he imagines he’s probably a dude. people have called him a dude up til now, so, theyre probably right. he never really thinks too much on it

• until alex makes a silly comment about “getting together ever thursday to question our gender like a team”. magnus laughs and it makes her smile, but it sticks in his head for a long time. he starts to really wonder what makes someone a man and what makes someone a woman.

• he thinks it might be rude to ask alex, but he cant think of anyone else who would have a better handle on it. he doesnt ask her anyways - he goes to sam. “what makes you a woman?” he asks. she goes quiet for a moment, like she isnt sure. “strength” she answers. “the thing inside me that makes me a woman is my strength.” she shrugs. “its different for everyone.” this wasnt the answer he was expecting and it doesnt help much, but hes glad he asked anyways.

• he goes to hearth next, asks him what makes him a man. hearth signs “rebellion” lazily, then shows the edge of what magnus thinks is a tank top under his shirt. magnus makes a face of confusion and hearth signs “binder.” he shakes his head. “i wont be his sweet little daughter. never.” magnus brings his hand towards his face without thinking about it, signs his thanks. “you always surprise me” he says out loud, almost to himself. hearth shrugs. “i know” he signs.

• magnus is at a loss. he knew gender was confusing, but this? this is ridiculous. neither answer helped him feel anyway towards the other, and maybe that was just the thing - he didnt feel particularly like a boy or a girl. he’s about to go ask blitzen when alex cuts him off.

• “okay, maggie. you and me. we’re settling this.” he doesnt understand what she means until she crosses her arms and says much more quietly “samirah told me.” she tucks a lock of shockingly green hair behind her ear, much more withdrawn than usual. “are you asking for yourself or-” magnus nods immediately. she seems to relax a bit, tenseness leaving her muscles. “oh… i mean. you can talk to me, if you want. if anyone can help you with gender, its me - ive got two of them.” he laughs a little. “practically makes me an expert.” he grins at her and she grins back. they leave for a more private location.

“i just dont get it” magnus admits when they get there. they’re sitting side by side in alex’s room, enjoying the wide open space. theres something sacred and secret about it. something they share. “is it possible to have no gender?” he continues. “is it possible to just… be nothing?”

alex blinks rapidly. “well, sure.”

his head turns towards her quickly, eyes wide. “seriously?”

alex shrugs and says again, “sure. i mean, you arent ‘nothing’ - that would make you agender. neither man nor woman, not nonbinary, and not fluid like me. but not ‘nothing’.”

magnus falls backwards, letting the back of his head touch the ground. he’s staring up but his eyes aren’t seeing. “wow. im.. that? agender?”

alex lays next to him, some of her hair falling over his face. he absent-mindedly blows it away from his mouth and she laughs. “if you think so. you can always… i dunno, try it out and see if its right. i used to think i was only a girl.” she shrugs again. “its okay to be wrong about stuff like this. you find your way to yourself eventually.”

theyre quiet for a moment. then he says “youre being very nice to me right now.”

when he turns his head to see her, he sees shes cracked a wicked smile. “im just warming you up. that way youll never see it coming.”

he raises an eyebrow, the corners of his mouth lifting just a little. “see what coming?”

alex hums. “it.”

they go back to staring at the expanse of sky above them, both smiling. magnus wasnt sure how he expected the day to go, but this wasnt it. he feels… good. he feels like something has shifted, something that was always meant to be has come to be.

magnus has never noticed it before, but for the first time, things just feel right.

A/N:OMG! It’s finally friday and I am posting stuffs that wrote during these past few days. I missed you guys and I am so overwhelmed for the feedbacks that I am receiving! Thank you for everything.
Anyways, I don’t like putting two requests in one imagine because I think that it’s unfair to the readers who’ve requested their ideas, but the requests are almost the same and I hope that it’s still okay. Sorry, though. You can always request something else so we can be fair. Thank you. This is longer than I wanted to write, but it’s better.
Thank you so much for the support. I am happy that you love my imagines!

Warning: A little bit of Angst, mentions blood, swearing.

“What is happening, Clay?” You asked as you dealt with the shortness of your breath. Someone called you on your phone and said that your best friend Alex was in trouble with someone in the parking lot, so you had to run from the other side of the school department to the parking lot as fast as you could.

“I really don’t know. I am trying to see what’s happening.” He answered as he was tiptoeing in his dark coloured converse. He didn’t get any positive results on what he was doing so you started to pass in the middle of the people, trying to push them slightly to give you some space.

Once you arrived at the first row of the crowd, your heart sank and your mouth slightly hung open. You covered your mouth as the happening created a little knot in your stomach and it hurt yourself.

Alex was spitting blood out of his mouth as he got some punches from the one and only Montgomery de la Cruz, who was sitting on Alex’s abdomen while he let his anger out.

“Fuck off, de la Cruz!” You pushed him with all of your strength so he would stop punching Alex’s face as if it was some sort of punching bag. “Fucking, stop!”

“Fine, I’ll stop!” He raised his hands in defense, but he kicked Alex on his stomach one more time before picking his backpack up, it was surely thrown on the ground when they started the fight.

“Damn it! Go fuck yourself!” You shouted as you wanted to bang his head on a wall thousand times.

“Montgomery, you fucking asshole.” You heard Alex swearing under his breath and whining while he was holding his stomach.

“Alex.” You quickly caressed his arm as you let him know that you were by his side. You swore that you didn’t like seeing your best friend like this. Montgomery pushed some people so he could get out of that crowd around you.

“(Y/N).” He weakly called for you as he coughed harshly, caused by the savage and terrible kicks of Montgomery. You were worried as you saw Alex spitting thick, dense and scarlet blood one more time.

“Damn, Alex.” You bit your lower lip as you felt a little bit guilty for arriving later to save him. You gave him your handkerchief so he could wipe his mouth. “Guys, go back to your classes! The show is obviously done, this was the first and last episode of let’s just fucking watch Alex to get hurt and do nothing, so stop being nosey and mind your own fucking business!” You sarcastically shouted as you hated them for not stopping the asshole before.

“It’s okay, (Y/N).” He shook it off as if nothing has happened.

“You shush!” You rolled your eyes as you picked his backpack up and hung it on your free shoulder. “C'mon.” You grabbed his hand as helped him to get up from the ground. Alex could barely stand up straight and you could say that he was suffering inside.

“Let me help you with that, (Y/N).” Zach helped Alex to maintain his balance as he saw that you were struggling to handle your best friend and you started to walk towards the school’s parking lot.

“Lex, keys?” You asked him when you stopped in front of his car.

“Here.” He shakily handed you the keys and you shook your head for the damage that Montgomery has done to your best friend. You would seriously slap that jerk.

“Thanks.” You weakly smiled at him and opened his car. Zach guided Alex to enter the passenger’s seat.

“Can you do this alone?” Zach worriedly asked after he closed the car’s door.

“Yup, thank you.” You warmly smiled at him and he just smiled back at you.

“Text me, okay?” You nodded to assure him and you went to the driver’s seat. “Take care.”

“We will.” You and Alex smiled at him and you started to drive carefully, not wanting to hurt Alex even more. “Are you okay?” You looked at the rear-view mirror to assure that no one was following you. “Dumb question, I know.”

“My stomach still aches.” You then looked at him and you could see in his eyes that he was really trying so hard to mend the pain away.

“Damn it, Standall.” You sighed as you saw his nose soaked in dried blood, condensed and fractured. The almost brown coloured blood has mizzled down his face and shirt, like the rain water in a window pane.

“What?” He raised an eyebrow and it made you worried even more, because his left cheek was purple and he had a big black and blue circle around his left eye.

“I hate seeing you like that, Jesus!” You huffed once again and brought your focus back to the road.

Once you arrived at his house, you parked his car on its place and you helped him to walk and to maintain his balance. The house was empty, obviously, his parents had the day shift at work.

“Stay there.” You closed the door behind you and you ran up and down the stairs to get the things that you needed to cure Alex’s wounds.

“What are you searching for?” Alex asked as he noticed that you kept on searching for something on the same place.

“Liniments?” You raised your eyebrow and he indicated you the bathroom door right next to the living room. “Thanks.”

“Not a problem.” He answered and you suddenly heard him complaining, murmuring some things that you didn’t understand.

“What happened?” You put the liniments on the table, together with the other stuffs that you needed to cure Alex.

“I can’t even smile because of this thing.” He complaint as he watched you preparing your first aid paraphernalia.

“Yup, you got a bad busted lip over there.” You shook your head.

“Yeah, I can feel it.” He pouted as he tried to ease the pain.

“What did you do to be Montgomery’s punching bag?” You curiously asked as you squeezed a wet towel to take the dehydrated blood stains off his face and neck. “This might hurt a little.”

“Be careful.” He grabbed your arm as he guided your hand. You dabbed the now-stained towel softly and slowly as you saw him fussing for the pain.

“Sorry.” You bit your lip as you were so concentrated on cleaning Alex’s face. You didn’t notice that he was just looking at you to admire your beautiful face.

“So? What’s the reason?” You stopped to look at him and he suddenly panicked and avoided your eye contact.

“He was fantasizing about you.” You suddenly stopped to look at him and gave him your judging face. “What? He was saying that he’d like to fuck you.” He defended himself, believing that he did a right thing for you.

“And you got those bruises and wounds just for a thing like that?” You put the towel back to the basin and you faced him.

“Damn it, what’s wrong with that?” He kind of raised his voice and you knew that you couldn’t change his mind.

“Alex, you almost died. I prefer that he imagines dirty stuffs about me rather than I lose you!” You got the towel once again and you squeezed it properly before wiping his neck. His face was already clean and you could recognize him now.

“(Y/N), I was the one who got hurt so shut the fuck up! I can’t stand to see others doing that to you.” He pointed out as he moved his neck so you could clean every inch of it. He was angry, but you knew that he couldn’t hurt you. “That’s also called respect for you, for the girls, for every woman in this world.”

“And I can’t stand to see my best friend in that way either!” You threw the towel in the basin and, luckily, the water didn’t go all over the glass centre table. You shot him a death glare as he just rolled his eyes. “And respect? You expect Montgomery to have even a pinch of respect? No way!”

“That doesn’t matter, I am the boy here and I should defend you.” You got a cotton disk and you put a smidgen of disinfectant to clean his still open bruises. “And that’s exactly my point! He should respect you.”

“You’re not my knight in shining armour, so stop defending me. Defend yourself, instead.” You lightly tapped the cotton disk on his bruises and he kept on whining as it stung his face.

“Then fuck you!” Alex corrugated his forehead as he lost his shit once again. He was staying at his thought and you couldn’t change his mind.

“No, fuck you!” You pressed the cotton disk on one of his bruises and he pushed your hand away harshly because you hurt him.

“What the fuck!?” He breathed in deeply as if he was asking for more patience to tolerate your behaviour. “Damn, I would do this by myself if you’re just being an asshole!”

“You know that you don’t have to do that for me, Standall!” You got the cotton disk once again and you blew at his bruise to ease the pain. You calmed yourself down as you saw him miffed.

“I don’t care.” He sassily snapped at you. “I would even catch a bullet for you, if I need to.” You dabbed the cotton once again and you bit your lip as you realized that you crossed the line. He defended you and you should thank him for that.

“I’m sorry.” You murmured and Alex just smiled.

“You realized that I had the point here?” He smirked at you and you threatened him to press the cotton disk once again. “But I am right.”

“Damn, Standall!” You rolled your eyes. “You are right, you got the point, but stay still!”

“Thank you.” He had a teasing tone and you hated him for that moment.

You realized that Alex was the sweetest person that you’ve ever known, even though you didn’t want to see him in that way. Yes, he could defend you and everything, but if it cost him his life, he better not defended you because your best friend’s life was more important to you than what people had to say about you.

“Thank you.” You smiled at him and he just shook his head with a wide smile plastered on his face. “Seriously, though. You don’t have to.”

“But I want to and that’s final.” He crossed his arms and you unleashed a long deep sigh, because you knew that he would do everything just to win in that discussion you were having.

Alex was sweet and nice to do that to you, but you didn’t want for him to be in a crazy mess. You didn’t want to see him hurt or dying, just because he needed to defend you.

You remained silent as you put the liniments on his bruises. He seriously looked at you as he watched your hands, carefully touching his damaged skin.

“Take your shirt off, I need to check if you have broken bones there!” You wiped your hands using the towel and you saw Alex with a smirk on his face.

“Or maybe you want to take advantage of me.” He naughtily said and you just laughed for his silly attitude.

“Dork!” You rolled your eyes while you were laughing. People might think that you two are crazy, because you would fight the moment before and then laugh like there was no tomorrow after, but that was what you liked in your relationship with Alex. You couldn’t fight over things for a long time, so you never had any issue. “C'mon, take that stained shirt off.”

“I ask fifty bucks per clothing from my clients for this, but you are too special for me so it’s free.” He winked at you as he slowly took his shirt off, making it a little bit sexy and lascivious. “I must love you so much for doing a strip tease for free eh!”

“Lex, you’re the best.” You laughed loudly as you playfully slapped his arm. “You’re the best that I never had, promise.”

“I know and I am happy that I can make you laugh just like that.” He winked at you as he put the shirt on the table in front of you. You controlled if he had some broken bones, touching different parts of his naked chest with a delicate touch, but luckily, he didn’t.

“Here, put these on!” You tossed him a clean shirt and his sweatpants. “I’m not peeking.” You winked at him as you put the first aid kit back to its place, also cleaning the towel that you used to clean Alex’s face.

“Thank you for curing me.” Alex sweetly said as he followed you to the bathroom and hugged you from the back. This time he could walk, not properly but he could. “Sorry, because I said tough things.”

“No, I’m sorry.” You put his dirty and stained clothes in the washing machine. It was Alex’s home, but it felt like it was your home too. You spent most of your time in his home than your own home because of Alex. “I should be grateful to have someone who hasn’t got any problems on defending me.”

“I will always defend you, (Y/N).” You looked at the mirror as you washed your hands. You saw Alex smiling and you had to admit that he was still perfect even with those bruises. “What?”

“Nothing.” You smiled at him and splashed him a drop of water. “You make me happy, Alex.” You dried your hands with a dry and clean hand towel.

“And you make me happy, (Y/N).” He made you turn around and he grabbed your hand. You both went back to the living room and you sat in front of the turned off television.

“So, what would you like to do now?” You curiously asked as you looked at Alex’s blue orbs. You seriously found him handsome, even with purple coloured cheeks. You loved his tired big eyes and you glanced at him as he glanced back at you. Your eyes were telling something to each other, but you didn’t want to admit it.

“This.” He smiled at you as he slowly leant in to close the gap between the two of you.

You were shocked because you never expected that Alex would kiss you out of nowhere. You didn’t respond at first, but then you let yourself go and you shared a passionate kiss with Alex, tasting a little bit of liniment from the bruised part of his lip, but you didn’t mind it. He caressed your cheek as you played with his platinum blonde hair.

“Fuck!” He suddenly broke the kiss and a worried expression took over your face. “That kind of hurt.”

“I can imagine.” You giggled softly and Alex just smiled, secretly loving your giggles more and more. You didn’t care if it was strange that he kissed you, you loved it and you honestly craved for more.

“Maybe kissing suits better when this shitty stuff gets better.” He winked at you and you shook your head with a wide smile on your face. “How about cuddles?”

“Cuddles, specifically your cuddles, are perfect too.” You nodded your head and he hugged you tightly as you let yourself fall on the soft couch, having Alex on top of you.

“Haven’t you ever noticed that I loved you from the very beginning of our friendship?” Alex whispered, your faces were few inches apart.

“Never thought of that.” You shook your head while having a thinking expression on your face. “Is that why you always defend me?”

“Well, I think that it’s the time to confess you everything, since I even kissed you just few moments ago.” He raised his shoulders as he rolled beside you. “(Y/N), I love you so much.” You saw that Alex blushed a little bit and you couldn’t help but smile. “I don’t know how it happened, but I wake up every day, being more jealous and wanting to protect you from the people around us. I love your company and I don’t regret that I approached you during that first basketball game during the sophomore year, I am so thankful for the relationship that we have.” He honestly declared as he drew circles on your arms with his left hand. You could see him blushing even more as the sunlight fell slanting through the window pane and it made you smile wider.

“Oh, you were just jealous earlier, that’s why you lost your shit!” You pointed out and Alex laughed loudly. You were flustered because you didn’t know why he was laughing.

“Good morning, Captain Obvious!” He smirked at you and you giggled as you messed his hair up.

“You’re such an idiot, but I love you too Alex.” You sincerely confessed and you blushed a little bit as you met Alex’s happy gaze. You played with his septum ring as you giggled even more and he just shook his head. “I am thankful to have someone like you.”

You both leant in for another kiss, but, this time, it was just a simple one because you didn’t want to hurt him once again.

You were enthusiastically happy and thankful at that moment, because you were sharing a great relationship with your most beloved person in your life.

“You’re impossible, Alexander!” You groaned, rubbing your temples and turning away from the short-tempered man. It was barely 9 am and he was already at your throat over your choice of cereal. Well, the cereal wasn’t for you, it was for the guy who was currently lounging in your bed after a rather fun hook up.

“I’m just saying. Anybody who willingly asks for Cheerios must be clinically insane.” Alexander shrugged, sipping what was probably his 5th cup of coffee.

“You know, maybe if you didn’t chug coffee so much, you could reach the top shelf of a bookcase.” You brushed past Alexander, going down the hall towards your room.

“I’m not short! I’m vertically challenged!” He yelled after you, grumbling as you disappeared into the room.

Your relationship with Alexander was…complicated, for a lack of better words. You were friends, though based off the amount you guys argued anyone would think you hated each other. The bickering between you two was at an all time high as of recently and it was confusing you. Something as simple as a movie selection ended up in a 20 minute debate that only came to a conclusion thanks to Herc grabbing the remote and picking something. Alex’s usual light teasing tone was now masked with another emotion that you couldn’t decipher. There’s a clear shift and you weren’t sure how to go about it.

Soon after he finished his cereal and got your number, the man who’s name you now knew as James left your apartment. The door could barely shut before Alex was speaking again.

“Sex was probably mediocre at best.” He called over his shoulder, eyes on the computer as he typed away furiously. You sighed and rested your forehead on the door before turning to face him.

“It was actually great, want a play-by-play?” You sauntered over to him, standing in front of his computer and crossing your arms. Alex made a show of gagging before covering his mouth.

Sanvers in College: Alex Drunk Dials the Cute Girl from Bio Class

Based on this post: https://hazingblur.tumblr.com/post/160026282401/queercapwriting-wlwprompts-person-a-is-drunk @hazingblur

Original prompt from @wlwprompts : “Person A is drunk and decides to randomly call that cute girl from biology class to tell her she’s pretty”

@lesbapocalypse you also asked for this so like.

She’s drunk and she’s stolen Kara’s phone, because it’s finals week and all bets are off and that cute girl from biology class?

She’s 1000% sure that her name is Maggie – Maggie Sawyer – not that she paid attention.

Pfft.

No. Of course she didn’t.

And she’s 1000% sure that said Maggie Sawyer is the same Maggie that her little sister has befriended.

And therefore, that cute girl’s number – and when she says cute, she means it, but god, she also means blazingly sexy – must be in Kara’s phone.

So she swipes the phone from her sister’s bag while Kara laughs with James and Winn. Swipes it and chugs another gulp of illegal punch and she finds Maggie’s name – complete with a picture, god, a gorgeous picture, because damn, those dimples, that hair, those downcast eyes – in Kara’s contacts.

Finds the name, and tries once, twice, three times, to successfully hit the big green button that makes the phone dial.

She giggles and almost bounces on the balls of her feet as the phone rings, rings, rings.

“Hey Kara!”

Alex freezes at the sound of her voice – her voice that she’s used to hearing only asking the best questions, only giving the best answers, in bio lecture, in bio lab – and she contemplates hanging up and leaving it to her sister to explain the butt dial.

“Kara?”

But now Maggie sounds concerned, because she must hear the party in the background, and Alex has seen her smile, seen her nerdiness, but she’s also seen her motorcycle, her leather jacket, her gym bag. And she doesn’t want her to be concerned, to feel like she has to speed to the party to rescue Kara from whatever situation she might be in.

“Hey! No, nope, not Kara. I mean, of course you thought it was Kara, I took her phone, I mean, obviously you thought it was her – ”

“Danvers?”

“Not the blonde one!”

“Alex.”

“Hiiiii.”

There’s a pause and she thinks she hears Maggie shuffling something.

“Danvers, you drunk? Are you with people, drinking water?”

“Awww, Sawyer, you care about me!”

“Well I sure don’t want you passing out in your own vomit, Danvers. I’ve been there, it’s not pleasant.”

Her voice is pleasant, though, and Alex collapses drunkenly onto a half-occupied couch, completely oblivious to the couple that had been making out, who shoot her irritated looks as they get up to find a better spot to kiss.

Alex thinks she hears that shuffling again, and maybe some wind, but she’s drunk and everything is oh so slightly hazy, but pleasantly so – pleasant, because Maggie Sawyer is on the phone with her, Maggie Sawyer cares whether she throws up or not. Maggie Sawyer. God. How can anyone be that perfect?

“I’m finnneee. I just… it’s just, I know you’re Kara’s friend, but we’ve never really talked, and I… even if you weren’t Kara’s friend, I’d have noticed you, you know. I mean, how could I not notice you? Do you know we’re in the same bio class? You’re always so smartest. The smartest girl in the class. The smartest and the cutest. And my sister’s friend! What are the odds, huh? Maybe we can calculate it with genome mapping or something. But we’re more than our code, right, we have to be. You believe that, right, Maggie?”

“Hey, Danvers, I’m not cutting you off, but can you do me a favor?”

Alex preens. Her last name sounds so nice on Maggie’s tongue. She wonders what else would feel nice on Maggie’s tongue. Everything, probably.

She nods before she realizes vaguely that Maggie can’t see her.

“Mmhmm.”

“Remind me which house is throwing the party you all are at.”

Alex squints as she tries to remember. “The one across from the science building. Where we take bio. Together. But now term is ending and maybe we won’t do anything together again. Not even that we did anything in bio together, because I was too nervous to – ”

“Danvers, whoa whoa. Can you do me another favor, sweetie?”

Alex’s heart backflips and she almost careens off the couch, because she called her sweetie, she called her sweetie, she called her sweetie.

The sound of wind on the other line increases in her ear, but maybe that’s just a side effect from how hard she’s pressing the phone to her ear, like the closer she clutches it, the closer she’ll be to Maggie.

“Yeah.” She thinks her voice might be higher, might be breathier, than it normally is, but that’s alright, because Maggie Sawyer called her sweetie.

“I know you have things you feel like you want to tell me right now, and I want to hear them, but only if you still want to tell me when you’re sober, okay?”

Alex blinks and furrows her brow at the phone, because – maybe she’s more drunk than she thought – Maggie’s voice seems to be coming from two places, now. One, through the phone, and one, less static-y, closer to her body.

She looks up from the couch and she startles, because Maggie is standing over her, crouching down next to her as she hangs up her phone, all basketball shorts and hoodie and flip flops and hair hastily tied back into a messy ponytail.

She’s grinning softly, but she’s breathing kind of heavily, like she’d just sprinted from her dorm room. Because, Alex realizes dimly, that’s exactly what she just did.

“Hey Alex,” she says as Alex splutters, as Alex fumbles to sit up straight, to fix her hair, to hang up Kara’s phone without dropping it.

Alex thinks she may be imagining it, but Maggie’s voice is softer, now, more breakable, now, more vulnerable, now, than it had been when they’d been on the phone. When Maggie had been on a search-and-give-water-to-the-drunk-girl mission.

But now that she’s arrived, water bottle she must have grabbed on the way out of her dorm in hand, her voice is shy, and her eyes are shy, and her eyes are something that look a little scared.

“Hi Maggie,” Alex whispers, and then giggles because she’s not sure why she’s whispering.

Maggie grins, and it’s the sweetest sight Alex has ever seen. She made Maggie Sawyer smile.

“Why did you come all the way here? You didn’t have to come all the way here, I – ”

“Well, clearly your sister doesn’t know what you’re up to or how drunk you are, because if she did I would have heard her in the background telling you to think before you dial and all that stuff.”

Alex covers her face with hands made clumsy by alcohol.

“Ugh, I’m sorry, you’re right, I shouldn’t have – I ruined your night, I embarrassed myself, I’m sorry, Maggie, I – ”

“Hey, hey, no, that’s not what I meant.” Maggie gets up from her crouch to sit on the couch next to Alex, and she opens the water bottle for her and presses it gently into her hands.

“Drink. Please?”

“I’m not that drunk.”

Maggie just nods, and Alex does as she’s told.

She finishes the entire bottle in one chug, and Maggie just watches her with cautious but glistening eyes.

“Okay, come on. Kara!” she calls across the room, and Kara seems to materialize next to them instantly.

“Maggie! I thought you weren’t in the mood to party toni – Alex? Are you okay? What – ”

“Here. Your phone.”

“How did you – ”

“Tell you in the morning. Right now, I’m gonna take your sister back to my room – no funny business, I promise – and help her sober up a little. Okay?”

Kara glances between Maggie’s disheveled appearance and Alex’s drunken one, and she kisses Alex’s cheek.

“Don’t give her a hard time, okay, Alex?” she teases, and Alex giggles as she stands unsteadily, both Kara and Maggie stabilizing her.

“When do I give anyone a hard time?”

Kara just kisses her again, just thanks Maggie, doesn’t object to their arrangement, because she trusts Maggie not to take advantage of her sister, and she knows that her sister would like nothing more than to get to know Maggie better. She just wishes she’d have had the courage to reach out sober. But they’ll work on that. The three of them.

Alex leans on Maggie, who’s wrapped her arm around Alex’s waist, and revels in the contact.

As they walk, she rambles about the chemical structure of alcohol. About its impacts on the brain. Maggie listens and Maggie smiles and Maggie nods in all the right places, and Maggie lets her talk, lets her talk, because she’s focused on making sure she doesn’t let the taller girl stumble and fall.

When Maggie shoves her dorm door open, Alex freezes.

“You know I’ve wanted this since like, the first time I saw you. For you to take me back to your room. To…” Her eyes flit down to Maggie’s lips.

“To kiss you.”

Maggie gulps and slips away from her, taking care to keep her hands on Alex’s arms to help her stabilize.

“Go pee.”

“What?”

“You’re this drunk? You for sure need to pee. Bathroom’s right there. Can you make it on your own?”

Alex nods with tears in her eyes, and Maggie hates herself a little bit, but she’d hate herself a lot more if she let this conversation continue.

The bathroom door shuts and the water flushes and the sink runs for a long, long, long moment.

When Alex stumbles out, it’s with confusion and the shadows of hurt in her eyes.

“Did I do something wrong? I don’t have to stay here, you didn’t have to – I just thought – you ran to… to rescue me, and you gave me water, and you took me home, and I thought that meant you like me as much as I like you, and I –

"Alex. Alex, Alex, look… We can talk about all this when you’re sober. If you still want to talk about it. I promise. But right now? Right now, we can talk biology. Or astrophysics, or about the dessication and revival of tardigrades, whatever you want. Just not us. Not now. And certainly no kissing. Okay?”

Alex slumps down onto Maggie’s bed without asking, and Maggie just grins and kneels to help take Alex’s boots off.

“Why not?”

“Because you’re drunk, Danvers,” Maggie giggles like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

“It’s never mattered to any guy,” Alex almost whispers, and Maggie stiffens, and her nostrils flare, and her eyes are more serious, more full of rage, than Alex has ever seen them.

“Well, it matters to me. Okay? Come on.”

She helps Alex swing her legs up onto the bed, holds her up to take in one more glass of water, hastily poured, and she kicks off her flip flops and grabs a pillow from the other side of her bed.

“You’re not gonna come to bed?”

“The floor’s perfectly fine for me, Danvers.”

“But – ”

“When you’re sober. If you still want to. I promise, Alex. Okay?”

“You promise?”

“Yeah, Danvers. Yeah. I promise.”

But Alex is asleep, a small smile on her face, before Maggie even finishes her promise. Her promise to her best friend’s big sister, who she’s been trying to gather the courage to ask out for months now.

She snuggles down onto the floor and – eventually – falls asleep with a smile on her own face, too.

Loving and fighting, accusing, uniting. I can’t imagine a world with you gone.
The joy and the chaos, the demons we’re made of. I’d be so lost if you left me alone.

“(Y/N), Jeff is here!” Your brother Alex shouted as he knocked on your bedroom door. You excitedly opened the door as it was your ever first date with a guy. “You look amazing.” He complimented you as he examined your look.

“Thanks, Lex.” You kissed him on his cheek as you felt little more confident with your brother’s compliment.

“Truth.” He smiled as you both went downstairs. He has always been an overprotective brother and it sometimes annoyed you, because he was worse than your parents when it came to you and boys.

“Sweet.” You said as you opened the front door. You saw a nervous Jeff waiting for you outside and you couldn’t help but laugh at him. “Hey Jeff!”

“Hey, (Y/N)! Hey, Alex!” He politely greeted and you flashed him a sweet smile, although you wanted to give him a tight hug for your contentment.

“Atkins, not later that 10 pm. Okay?” Your brother strictly imposed and you saw Jeff gulping as he became more nervous.

“Alex, I am not 12 anymore.” You shot him a death glare and he rolled his eyes.

“Alright, 11 pm and that’s final!” He crossed his arm and the only thing you did was to huff.

“Alex Standall!” You protested.

“It’s perfectly fine, (Y/N). Alex, she’ll be home by 11 pm.” Jeff courteously assured your bigger brother and you just shook your head. His nervousness seemed to fade away.

“Good! Take care of her if you don’t want a baseball bat stuck up in your ass.” Alex sassily warned and you dragged Jeff away from the front yard as you were fed up by your brother’s behaviour. He crossed the line.

“Fuck off, Alex.” You rolled your eyes and he just laughed because he knew that he successfully annoyed you.

“Enjoy!” He winked at you and Jeff and he went inside the house, closing the front door.

“Asshole.” You shouted and Jeff just laughed because he found your relationship with your brother amazing. “Don’t mind him, Jeff.”

“It’s alright.” He smiled at you as you started to walk towards the movie theatre. “He’s perfectly got the point.” He was nervous when he first saw you, but then he felt comfortable, luckily.

“But we have time just until 11 pm.” You fussed. “He’s annoying when he acts like this.”

“He loves you and he wants the best for you, (Y/N).” Jeff explained as he knew how boys are made of. “But don’t worry because I am not failing your brother.” Some of them are jerks and they would just break girls’ hearts, but Jeff wasn’t one of them. He was an angel and a gentleman.

“Oh my God, I can’t believe that you are defending my brother! I am remembering you that you are going out on a date with me and not with that pain in the ass.” You rolled your eyes, but you let out a loud laugh as you heard Jeff laughing.

“Oh, right!” He agreed and you just laughed even more. “But the first rule is court the family first.” He winked at you as he wrapped his arms around your shoulder.
In no time, you arrived at the movie theatre and you stood in front of the ticket booth with Jeff.

“What film would you like to watch?” Jeff asked you as he was looking at the movie posters.

“30 ways to die!” You happily exclaimed and he smiled at you. It was a horror film, but you didn’t want to choose the romantic one because you thought that it was so cliché.

“Two tickets for 30 ways to die is it then.” He handed the money to the clerk and he got the two tickets.

“Enjoy!” The clerk exclaimed enthusiastically.

“Thank you.” He thanked politely. It amazes you how educated Jeff is. He was grown well by his parents. He was not one of those asshole jocks at school and you liked him for that.

“Thank you.” You gratefully thanked him.

“Not a biggie!” He caressed your cheek with his thumb and then you proceeded inside the movie theatre. There you saw Clay and Hannah as they were talking of their stuffs while working.

“Oh hey!” Clay greeted the two of you and he did his usual handshake with Jeff. “I bet you are watching Never Say Goodbye tonight.”

“Wrong guess, Jensen!” You winked at him and you noticed Jeff corrugating his forehead. Was he jealous? “Hey Hannah!”

“Hi there!” She flashed you her sweetest smile and you thought that she was really beautiful.

“How much is it?” Jeff asked as he was about to take his billfold out.

“Everything’s on me tonight! Enjoy your date, love birds!” Clay teased the two of you and Jeff just shook his head for his best friend’s attitude.

“See you later!” Hannah winked at me. “Enjoy!”

“Thank you so much.” You both smiled at your friends and went to the screening room. You were just right in time and the film has started.

From the beginning of the film, you already regretted that you chose a horror film. You were so scared and you never shouted like that before. Luckily, there was Jeff who hugged you in every scary scene, even though he risked getting his tympanum broken. But in short, he was hugging you the whole time.

You didn’t mind it at first, but then you loved the feeling of having his arms wrapped around your shoulders, so you went with it.

“Great film, isn’t it?” Jeff winked at you as the lights turned on after the film. “Let’s watch another horror movie?”

“Cut it off, Atkins!” You laughed as you pretended to be annoyed at him. “But thank you.”

“You’re always welcome, (Y/N).” He wrapped his arms around your shoulders and you walked out of the room.

“How was the film?” Clay asked in a teasing tone and you just shook your head.

“Great.” Jeff gave two thumbs up and a wink in response. Hannah and Clay giggled as they surely heard the screams coming from the room, but you shook it off.

“Have a good night, guys.” Clay sweetly said.

“Good night.” You and Jeff said in unison. You noticed Jeff trying not to smile as Clay was silently teasing him.

“Bring her home before her curfew or Alex will hate you forever.” Hannah warned and you all laughed at the thought of the curfew.

“We better get going then.” Jeff seriously said this time and you said your goodbyes to Hannah and Clay.

You started to walk way back home and, fortunately, you still had time before the curfew. Alex was serious about it and you had no guts to violate his rules or you knew that he would be worse than he already was.

“Thank you once again, Jeff.” You said as you reached your block. “I had fun, even if it wasn’t obvious.”

“I had fun too, thank you.” He slightly giggled as he thanked you and you found him cute and sexy.

There was a moment of silence and you both found yourselves leaning in for a good night kiss.

The thought of kissing Jeff’s lips made your heart skip every beat of it. You shared a sweet kiss while he caressed your cheek and you loved it, although it had a popcorn taste, but it soon ended because your nosey brother opened the door and you both had to act normal.

“Exact 11 pm. Great job, Jeff.” Alex smiled sincerely as he hid his phone that served him to see the time. “No more curfew next time.”

“Finally!” You rejoiced because of what your brother had said and he just let out a laugh.

“Idiot.” He playfully insulted you. “Let’s go?”

“Yes, sir!” You nodded as you flashed Jeff a smile once again. “See you on Monday?”

“See you on Monday.” Jeff smiled widely as he thought of the kiss that you had shared. You were still blushing and feeling nervous because of it, but you managed to not get caught by your brother.

“Bye!” You said in unison and you watched him as he walked back home.

“So, how was the kiss?” Alex quickly asked as you entered the house. There he was, being nosey once again.

“Oh my God, Alex!” You covered your face as you felt the burning sensation for one more time. You felt uncomfortable talking of these things with your big brother.

“He better not hurts you or the baseball bat!” He winked at you and you both laughed loudly. You finally understood that he was just protecting you and Jeff was doing the right thing to court your family first before you.

“Thank you, asshole.” You hugged your dorky brother to thank him sincerely.

“No problem.” He hugged you back and gave you a kiss on your forehead while he played with your hair.

You were happy that your first date with Jeff went well and, of course, you were grateful to have Alex as your brother, even though he was so overprotective and vexatious.

THEME PACK #001 by angelicxi

As I’m hitting the tenth theme mark, I am also approaching my two-year anniversary as a theme maker (can you believe it’s been so long and how far I’ve gotten? it’s a bit surreal, man. or, okay. a lot surreal), I decided to celebrate by putting together a theme pack…and good god, what a ride it has been. This set took inspiration from nature — specifically, from honeybees — and the result is my best work yet. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. ❤

Special thank yous to bane, for being helpful (as always), to alex (for sending me memes at 4 am to power me through), and to the people at bibtown for being very understanding of my slow descent into madness. Y’all rock.

Prompt from @goteamsuprcorp – “do you think your write a fic were Kara and Lena have a hurt/comfort moment after Man-Hell is yeeted… and kiss” and @ohhsoadorkable – “Also, Lena feeling guilty for hurting Kara after Mon-El gets yeeted. Cause we all know bb is too precious and will feel bad for hurting the love if her life” and “Someone actually praising Lena for helping them getting rid of the daxamites ?!?!? Pretty bb deserves a thank you !”

She tells herself she’s not being selfish.

That Kara is in need of comfort. That she is Kara’s best friend.

Aside from her sister, of course.

Which is why Lena is setting out for Alex’s apartment.

Because she knows her best friend. And she knows that’s where she’ll be. To lick her wounds. To heal. To be held close by someone who loves her in the ashes of dead Daxamites.

To be held close by someone who needs her after someone she thought she needed had to… leave.

She tells herself she’s not being selfish – that she’s seeking to hold, not be held, to offer comfort, not seek it – and she tells herself that Kara would be the first person to offer her comfort, even when in dire pain herself.

She tells herself she is not taking advantage of Kara’s goodness.

She tells herself that she is not her mother, is not Rhea.

She paces and she rings her hands and she breathes deep, deep, slow, and she knocks on Alex Danvers’s apartment door.

It’s late – so late that it’s actually, technically, early – but there’s a light on under the door, and there’s immediate movement inside at the sound of her knock. Lena gulps and stiffens and prays she won’t regret this.

The detective who’d arrested her – the detective that Kara was coming to accept, coming to like, coming, even to love, who was dating her sister, who was turning her sister into a tremendous puddle of mush – answers the door, wearing boxers and a t-shirt so oversized on her that Lena refuses to believe it’s hers.

“Thank you for what you did,” is the first thing the woman says, and Lena is nothing if not surprised. Shocked, even.

“What?”

“You and Winn. You two saved the planet. And before you worry about blood on your hands, don’t – Rhea was killed, and so were some of the Daxamites who were on the surface, but most of them transported up and took their ships out of orbit in time. So they can’t come back, but their species… It’s not dead. Okay?”

Maggie says all of this softly, soothingly, leaning slightly forward into Lena’s ear, and Lena doesn’t know the last time – outside of Kara, or Supergirl – that she felt this… heard. Without even having to say anything.

“Babe, who is it?” Alex calls, because apparently Kara is too exhausted, too pained, too agonized, to strain herself with her x-ray vision.

“A friend,” Maggie steps back and gestures Lena inside, and Kara stirs from the blanket Alex has her wrapped in. Stirs from the arms Alex has her wrapped in.

“Lena,” she croaks, and Lena holds out her hands.

“No, no, Kara, no need to get up, I just… I wanted to see if you’re alright. I heard… I heard you’ve suffered a loss.”

She doesn’t give details, and when something flashes across Kara’s eyes – a classic but vague does-she-know panic – she holds back both a sob and a chuckle.

Now isn’t quite the time.

“I’ll be alright,” she murmurs, and Lena holds out the bag she’d carried over.

“Your favorite place for potstickers in all of National City is still open for business, you know. Something about people needing good food and good company in times like this.”

She glances around at the empty pizza boxes and potsticker containers.

“It seems you already knew that, but more can’t hurt, can they?” she asks, almost timidly, and Alex smiles as she stares up at this woman who can save the world, over and over and over, while her own mother is trying to destroy it, but who is so, so, so gentle with her little sister.

“Potstickers can never hurt,” Kara murmurs as she unwraps her arms from the blankets and reaches for the potstickers gratefully. Alex and Lena exchange a soft laugh.

“Well, I’ll just leave you three to it then,” she says, and she starts to head out the door.

“Lena, wait!” Kara is on her feet by the time Lena turns her head.

“We can share these. At my place. If you want. Alex and Maggie have a lot of… processing to do, and we can do the same. Processing, I mean. Processing, as friends. You… Rhea hurt you, and I want to be there for you, too.”

Lena shakes her head – she is not selfish, she is not selfish, she is not selfish – but Kara knows better.

She strides across the room and reaches for Lena’s hands with one of hers, both of them oblivious to Alex and Maggie’s wide-eyed glance.

“You’re allowed to need someone, too, Lena. Just because I’m hurting doesn’t mean I can’t be there for you, too. We can be here for each other.”

“I…” She fights tears and she reminds herself that she is not, perhaps, worthless. “I don’t want to take you from your sister and – “

“Alex? Do you mind? If I go with Lena?”

Alex suppresses a knowing grin and shakes her head.

“I love you,” she pulls her into her, close and warm and very slightly needy.

“I love you, too,” Kara reminds her, giving Maggie a squeeze, too, before setting out the door with Lena.

They don’t speak much on the walk back to Kara’s apartment.

The walk back through war-torn streets and downed electrical lines.

They don’t speak much as they go through Kara’s apartment, powerless, lighting candles and pouring wine.

Kara takes everything that can spoil out of the fridge and freezer and piles it onto the table.

“Who knows how long the power will be out?” she offers by way of explanation, and Lena suppresses the urge to kiss the redness from her eyes.

They don’t speak much as they plow their way through ice cream and yogurt and potstickers.

They don’t speak much until Kara lets herself break.

“Everything I do, everything I try, it just… he made me feel connected to my… my parents, my family, my history, you know? My people.”

She’s either too grieved to notice her slight slip, or she trusts Lena too much to care.

Or a little bit of both.

“You haven’t lost them all over again, you know,” Lena says in a small, small voice. “Your parents. Your people and your history. If anything, Kara Danvers, you’ve honored them.”

Kara furrows her brow and adjusts her glasses and shakes her head, and Lena hesitates slightly before tucking a few strands of loose hair behind Kara’s ear. Kara freezes and meets her eyes with an intensity borne of months of unspoken feelings, months of repressed need.

“I don’t feel like I’ve honored much of anything lately,” Kara sighs, and Lena nods and chuckles slightly.

“Neither do I. You know I was actually foolish enough to let Rhea manipulate me so baldly? I walked right into every single thing she had planned for me. When Supergirl said she’d fight her…” She looks at Kara significantly, and she thinks she sees a spark of unspoken acknowledgment there. “I know it’s ridiculous – she was fighting for the whole planet – but it also felt… like she was fighting for me.”

“You deserve that, Lena,” Kara tells her, her voice barely above a whisper. Her voice barely distinct from a prayer. “Someone to fight for you. You deserve that.”

“Kara,” Lena swallows, and Kara silences her with a slight shake of the head.

Slowly, steadily, eyes a burning, chaotic storm, she takes her glasses off of her face. Lena inhales slowly, steadily, eyes a beacon, chaotic clarity.

“I’d like to kiss you, Lena. Can I?” Kara asks, and Lena lets her body respond.

It’s soft and it’s tentative, because it doesn’t matter what Kara might think she wants tonight – in love with him or not, even liked him or not, she cared for him, cares for him, and Kara Danvers, Supergirl, her best friend, deserves better than mourning sex – soft and tenative is all it’s going to be tonight.

When their lips part and Lena’s heart starts beating again, her eyes stay closed. When she opens them, Kara is looking at her like she’s a work of art, like she’s a miracle.

Like she’s hope.

“Was that alright?” Kara wants to know, and Lena’s smile is as warm as her fingers on the underside of Kara’s wrist.

“That was perfect,” she whispers, and when she reaches across the table for a spoon, Kara giggles softly, because maybe there is hope after all.
