Song Preference (Liam)
You’re the sky that I fell through. And I remember the view whenever I’m holding you
“Why Lydia’s house?” you asked as Liam’s car pulled up to her lake house.
“Lydia let me borrow it for tonight,” Liam shrugged. “The stars look great from here.”
“And you know that how?” you asked.
“I was at one of her parties,” he told you. “But I didn’t get to enjoy it too much. There was a couple of altercations.”
“Nothing important. Come on, the weather’s nice.”
The sun hung from a string, looking down on the world as it warmed over everything
A blanket was laid out on the ground in the front lawn for the two of you and the stars were marvelous in the sky.
“Hey Liam,” you asked after a couple moments of silence. “Can you tell me why you moved our date to tonight rather than last week. The moon was huge, it would’ve been so lovely.”
“Something came up and I just couldn’t,” he told you. “Trust me, it would have been awful if I did show up.”
“Are you ever going to tell me what came up?”
“Maybe. I’m just not sure if you’ll be 100% okay with it.”
“What wouldn’t I be okay with? You aren’t seeing another girl, right?”
“What, no?! Why the hell would I see someone else?”
“I don’t know, maybe I just wouldn’t be enough.”
“That is absolutely ridiculous. You’re more than enough. You’re beautiful, smart, funny, and anything but boring. If anything, I’m not enough. I already knew that you was way out of my league, but when I met you , I-”
“Okay, big boy, no need to start praising me. I was just a bit scared that’s all. There’s no need to put yourself down. Liam, do you really think that I’m out of your league? That’s like the sun trying to tell the moon the she’s brighter. Even though the sun will always be thousand times brighter and more beautiful.”
“More beautiful? Nonsense. The moon will always be more beautiful than the moon. Because the moon always has stars, whether they be in the sky, or in her eyes.”
Chills run down my spine, as our fingers intwine and your sighs harmonize with mine
You threw yourself over him, covering his face in kisses.
“The sun is such a romantic nerd,” you giggled.
“Only cause the moon makes him like that,” he laughed. “She makes his heart beat a thousand times a minutes. She makes his brains turn to mush.”
“Well, the sun makes the moon feel like she’s the universe,” you replied. “Like she’s the most important thing even though she cherishes the sun so much.”
Liam smiled and took your hand in his.
“My sweet moon,” he sighed.
“My darling sun,” you replied.
Unmistakably, I can still feel your heart beat fast when you dance with me
You were wrapped in his arms when you looked up at the stars. He whispered the names of the constellations to you but you weren’t really listening.
It wasn’t until he leaned down really close to your ear to tell you something that you started to listen. Well, not really listen, more like feel your pulse rise when his hot breath hit your ear.
Liam chuckled and you felt him press his lips on the skin behind your ear. You tensed up a bit. Then he shifted to be on top of you, his lips meeting your skin multiple times, leaving kisses to your neck, lips, and collarbone. Each kiss made your heart beat faster an faster.
“Liam,” you whined. You knew his game but there wasn’t much you could do about it. That is until you felt him chuckle against you skin. That’s when you huffed and took matters into your own hands.
You flipped the two of you over so that you were on top.
“Well done,” he said. “I always like a woman on top.”
“Oh shut up you.” you told him.
We got older and I should have known. (Do you feel alive?)
“You wanna take a deep in the lake?” he asked.
“Are you nuts? The water must be freezing and we don’t have swim suits.”
“We don’t need swim suits.”
“I am not skinny dipping with you.”
“Didn’t mean it that way. I mean, we could swim in our underwear. I’ve seen you in a bikini, so it wouldn’t be a big deal.”
“I don’t know.”
“Alright. I’m not forcing you to do anything. But I’m taking a swim.”
He got up from his place and stripped down to his boxers. You must admit you enjoyed the show.
That I’d feel colder when I walk alone (Oh, but you’ll survive)
He jumped into the water immediately, not even testing the water. When he resurfaced, you could see his goosebumps from where you were.
“Cold?” you asked.
“Hell yeah,” he called. “But fun. You really should come in.”
You thought about it for a while, Liam’s pleading continuous.
“Fine,” you sighed. You removed your clothes except for your underwear and bra, Liam cheering for you the whole time. After taking a few steps back, you took a running start at the water.
So I may as well ditch my dismay. (Bombs away… Bombs away…)
You’re cannonball was even bigger than Liam’s. The water was absolutely freezing but being submerged helped you get used to it as quickly as possible. When you resurfaced, the air felt even colder than the water.
“Welcome,” Liam teased as he swam closer to you.
“The water feels cold,” you told him.
“I know,” he laughed.
Circle me and the needle moves gracefully. Back and forth, if my heart was a compass you’d be north
You flicked water at his face and swam off before he could retaliate. He swam after you quickly, splashing you with water. A splashing fight quickly ensued.
No one won. No one lost. The two of you just ended up in extra soaked laughing and swimming.
You swam circles around him, gliding through the water better than he ever could since he was never that good of a swimmer. He eventually caught up to you but he was panting when he reached you.
“You’re a fast little swimmer aren’t you?” he asked.
Risk it all cause I’ll catch you if you fall. Where ever you go,
“Maybe you’re just slow,” you teased.
“Well, it’s getting late. Let’s go inside, Lydia told me where the towels were.”
“Thank god. My mom would kill me if I came home soaking.”
If my heart was a house you’d be home
