i went to an ariana grande concert a few months ago. there were so many young girls (8, 9, 10 and 11 years old) there with their moms for their very first concert and you could feel the excitement in the air as they walked around the venue in their ariana shirts and accessories, dancing along to all of her songs.

the thought of someone planning a terrorist attack with the specific intention of targeting and killing not just women, but girls, absolutely shatters my heart.

To anyone making fun of what's happened at Manchester.

Fuck off. I don’t give a rats ass if you don’t like Ariana Grande but this is a serious event and possible terrorist attack. So fuck off with your jokes about wanting to blow her up to or how you wish she had been, people have died and it’s absolutely disgusting if you think that what has happened is funny.

Live Updates: What We Know So Far About The Manchester Attack
Prime Minister Theresa May said the attack — carried out by a lone perpetrator — was an act of 'appalling and sickening cowardice' and deliberately targeted young children.
By BuzzFeed News
  • At least 22 people were killed in a suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.
  • Fifty-nine people were injured when a man detonated an improvised explosive device in the foyer of Manchester Arena at 10.30pm on Monday, just as Grande was finishing her set.
  • Three of the victims have been identified so far. The youngest was an eight-year-old girl.
  • ISIS has claimed one of its members carried out the attack.
  • Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the attack as an act of “appalling, sickening, cowardice”. May said that authorities believe they have identified the man but would not be naming him publicly at this stage. Security services are working to establish whether he acted alone or as part of a wider group.
  • Greater Manchester Police said they arrested a 23-year-old man in the south of the city in connection with the attack on Tuesday.
  • An emergency number – 0800 096 0095 – is available for those who are concerned about loved ones or anyone who may have been in the area. Families looking for missing relatives are posting on social media.
  • Hoaxes and fake news related to the attack have been circulating on social media. However, people in Manchester have responded to Monday’s events with acts of kindness.

The portland police bureau let this nazi murderer grab a beer before they arrested him.

they KILL black people for nothing more than being black, but this guy slashed the throats of two people and injured a third after terrorising two teenage girls, and he gets to go get a beer. not shot, not even injured. apprehended unharmed.

Full offense but some of y'all need to stop using a tragedy to smugly assert your feelings on European multiculturalism or your contempt for Ariana Grande. A bunch of teenagers died and their only crime was wanting to enjoy watching their favorite artist sing. Lots of people are hurt and separated from their families and friends and afraid. Ariana herself is probably traumatized and feeling undue guilt for the loss of life among her fans. I completely agree that Islamic terrorism is a real problem and we need to stop pretending like it isn’t, but that doesn’t mean you should treat the actual victims of these attacks like pawns in your little “I told you so” Game and forget any human empathy.

Houston middle school teachers give 7th grader “most likely to be a terrorist” mock award

  • A Houston-area junior high school teacher gave her seventh grade student a “mostly likely to be a terrorist” mock award.
  • Lizeth Villanueva, a Lance Cpl. Anthony Aguirre Junior High School student, told Click2Houston the award incident happened on Tuesday during her AVID class, which is a advanced college preparatory course.
  • She was taken aback when her teacher gave her the “terrorist” award.
  • Villanueva said her teacher handed out the awards with the disclaimer that “it might hurt [student’s] feelings,” but was done in good fun.
  • On Wednesday, the school released a statement apologizing for the “insensitive and offensive fake mock awards” and announced that the incident will be investigated.
  • Channelview Independent School District also released a statement condemning the mock award and said the teachers involved were disciplined. Villanueva said the teacher was suspended. Read more (5/26/17)
