The Particles へ、に、 and で

So, I’m pretty sure I made a post once before about how to use に in the formula :
XはYにいます。
Now I’ll cover how to use the particles へ(pronounced “e” in this case), and で (de)

Here are the formulas for how to use them;

へ/に> [place](へ/に) *action verb*。= To *action verb* to [place].

で > [place]で+ action verb = To *action verb* at/in [place]

*へ and に correspond to the English preposition “to” and express the direction of motion.

1.) 毎日学校へ行きます。> mainichi gakkou e ikimasu. > I go to school everyday.

a.) 毎日学校に行きます。> mainichi gakkou ni ikimasu. > I go to school everyday.

2.)本田さんは大学へ/に来ませんでした。> Honda san wa daigaku e/ni kimasen deshita. > Mr./Mrs. Honda did not come to University.

3.)来週日本へ/に帰ります。> Raishuu nihon e/ni kaerimasu. > I will go back to Japan next week.

4.)いつアメリカへ/に戻りますか。> itsu amerika e/ni modorimasu ka. > When will you return to America?

*As demonstrated above に and へ are interchangeable when followed by a motion verb.

Now here’s how to use で:
*で works more like the English word “at” but it can also be used to show how something is accomplished (I go BY BUS, I speak IN JAPANESE, I write a letter BY PEN)

1.)大学でテニスをします。> Daigaku de tenisu wo shimasu. > I play tennis at University.

2.)家で本を読みます。> Ie de hon wo yomimasu. > I read a book at home.

3.) バスで学校へ/に行きます。> Basu de gakkou e/ ni ikimasu. > I go to school by bus.

4.) ペンで手紙を書きます。> Pen de tegami wo kakimasu. > I write a letter by pen.

but nevertheless, it seems like echizen being kicked out of the camp is a blessing-in-disguise because if he weren’t kicked out then no ryosaku moment for us

guys please grow up already and marry each other hehehe kidding

Expressing Purpose Using に

に is a busy, busy particle! Lets look at another way to use it!

“I went home to eat.” Is an example of expressing purpose in English. To do this in Japanese simply: Add に(ni) to the conjunctive form of the verb.

conjunctive form: The verb minus -ます (masu)

                                -食べます(tabemasu) -> 食べ(tabe)

                                -勉強します(benkyoushimasu) -> 勉強し(benkyoushi)

                                -見ます(mimasu) ->見 (mi)

1.)日本語を勉強しに日本へ来ました。(nihongo o benkyoushi ni nihon e kimashita) -> I came to Japan to study Japanese.

2.)昼ごはんを食べに家に帰ります.(hirugohan o tabe ni uchi ni kaerimasu.) -> I go home o eat lunch.

3.) テニスをしに大学へ行きます.(tenisu o shi ni daigaku e ikimasu.) -> I go to the University to play tennis.

4.)映画を見に銀座へ行きました.(eiga o mi ni  Ginza e ikimashita.) -> I went to Ginza to watch a movie.

*each of the sentences above can be flipped so that location comes first! The reverse is still accurate. *

ex: 日本へ日本語を勉強しに来ました。(nihon e nihongo wo benkyoushi n kimashita) -> I went to Japan to study Japanese.

5.)鈴木さんは英語を勉強しにアメリカへ来ました。(suzuki san wa eigo o benkyoushi ni amerika e kimashita.) -> Mr./ Ms. Suzuki came to America to study English.

6.)東京に仕事を探しに行きました。(Tookyoo ni shigoto o sagashi ni ikimashita.) -> I went to Tokyo to look for work.

7.)弟はコンピューターを買いに秋葉原へ行きました。(otoutou wa konpyuutaa o kai ni akihabara e ikimashita.) -> My little brother went to Akiabara  to buy a new computer.

8.)テレビを見に家に帰ります。(terebi o mi ni uchi ni kaerimasu.) -> I go home to watch T.V.

Big thanks to @red-velvet–cupcake  for catching my mistake! and thank you so much for following!
