tending to the spirit

anonymous asked:

from one to ten how powerful would Chara's 'Ramones' phase be

Even though their attitude, tattoos and love of black skinny jeans may say otherwise, teen Chara is actually mostly just punk in spirit. They don’t tend towards specific music genres and their wardrobe when going outside is actually usually quite conservative.

They want people to think they’re hardcore and spooky, but getting people to think you’re either of these things usually involves interacting with people and having their attention for a lot longer than Chara is comfortable with, so that dream doesn’t really go anywhere before they’re older and more confident in social situations.

When they’re younger and more fearful, they find it easier to avoid attracting attention in turtlenecks and cardigans than in punk fashion.

o shit waddup the character designs are here ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I’ll be posting the actual tattoo designs later on. Here’s just the general idea.

So, as promised, more on my Sun/Moon Spirit AU!

  • Adrien wears a lot of clothes due to him being the sun spirit, he is constantly exposed to the heat.
  • And onto that, another reason he wears a lot of clothes aka the giant robe is because he has a lot of scars and all sorts from battles, the heat and just general angsty shit (more to come on this next time)
  • I’ll give you this though; because Mari has rejected him for…decades, sometimes he gets lonely which is why out of the two, he is more likely to go to his human version so he can to interact with people.
  • But, their human forms have restrictions.
  • To transform into their human versions, they have to take off their respective earrings.
  • They have a limited amount of time in their human versions, as the time passes, their tattoos begin to fade and they cannot, at all costs, have their tattoos fully faded and gone.
  • If the tattoos fully fade, they become mortals, and as much as Adrien does want to become a mortal, the balance of basically everything in the universe goes to the shits and basically we might die.
  • Due to his excessive use of his human version, he is often scolded by gods. Adrien has never gotten his tattoo fully faded but he’s had some very close calls.
  • Mari has every constellation on her back as tattoos and as time passes for her in her human form, the constellations disappear one by one.
  • Both Adrien and Mari are saddened about their losing connection to humans. They were once actively interactive with the people way back then but during the heavy times of industrialisation and of course, environmental issues, sometimes it’s hard for both to reach out. And this has definitely affected both physically…
  • Mari fell in love with Human Adrien in the time of the French Revolution when he fought as a soldier.
  • In their spirit forms, only animals and chosen humans can sense Adrien and Mari.
  • Birds love Adrien and can sense him more strongly than any other animals and tend to follow him around in his spirit form.
  • Spirit Adrien has seen Human Mari….more to come on this later.
  • I’m not going to reveal all of this yet but here’s the thing; the spirits don’t just watch over the people for decades without doing anything…
  • And Mari and Adrien are definitely not the only spirits around.
  • That’s it for now but yeah….def some more soon ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

mob (still an esper in this au) goes on crazy adventures with his fake-psychic teacher (who’s actually just a genius scientist) and sometimes with his brother ritsu (also still an esper)

in general, spirits tend to flock around mob, but i sort of ran away with the idea of the spirits of mob’s alternate selves and the ghosts of other of his friends following him around…

imagine a citadel of reigens tho

Get to Know Your Deck Spread

Here’s a lovely spread for all of you out there who are new to tarot, recently received a new deck, struggle with bonding with your deck(s) and/or are having issues getting clear or understanding readings. Sometimes decks have personalities to them, they have their own likes, dislikes, alignments and even preferred ‘work’ to go into. They also often require bonding to get the most accurate smooth readings. I have explained before the differences in my decks and what they like to answer, and I know of others who struggle bonding or understanding who their decks are. This spread should be of help!

1. How is your deck feeling today? Are they in a good mood ready to work? Or are they just having an off bad day? I have found decks, like people, can have moody bad days. These days their readings may be harsher than usual or even not even slightly logical. Its good to see what mood your deck is in before using it for readings, especially readings for others (and especially if they are paying for them). This may also affect the questions they will wish to answer.

2. What element does your deck align with? All decks are different and some may align themselves with specific elements. Is your deck fire, water, earth, air, spirit or a combination of them? This may affect the manner which they read. Air decks may be more interested in giving creative advice and focus on individuality, free-spirited natures, the arts, and even love. Water decks tend to focus on emotions and seeking gentle fixes. Fire decks tend to be the most assertive, they are competitive, encouraging, brave, passionate but also tend to support the idea of feuds. Fire decks, also from my experience, tend to be very blunt about things. Earth aligned decks tend to be a bit calmer, they focus on bonds with people such as family and friendships. They also focus on careers, prosperity and money matters. Spirit decks, tend to like to do more of the ‘divine’. They focus on self-enlightenment, self discovery and communicating with supernatural forces, guides, and deities.

3. What Questions does your deck enjoy answering? Does your deck enjoy answering questions about love? Friends and family? Do they enjoy giving personal advice? Do they like money matters and career focuses. This could determine what questions they may be the most accurate and ones they will give the best advice on.

4. What Questions does your deck least like to answer? These are the questions they may not have the most accurate advice on. Such as my Rider deck greatly dislikes romance questions so I never use him for them because he will always just advice break-ups no matter the situation.

5. What is your deck’s current feelings towards you? Does your deck feel close to you? Is it a strong professional business bond? Or is it more like a friendship? Do they feel distant from you? Like you ignore them? Do they not understand you or feel like you are a stranger? Do you intimidate them?

6. How can you improve your relationship? How does your deck feel like you two can do to help build your relationship? Practice more or perhaps make spreads.

7. A Negative trait. Pretty self explanatory, this is a negative quality about your deck that it feels you have a right to know about. Take note that this is a negative trait in the mind and views of your deck, its something it feels is negative.

8. A Positive trait. Again, pretty self explanatory, this is a trait that your deck feels is a positive trait it has. Again, this is a trait seen as positive in its mind.

differentiating reality from imagination

we all have moments where we wonder whether we’re talking to ourselves or to an actual spirit, moments where we second-guess ourselves. here’s a method i’ve been using to separate the two:

in the middle of the conversation, try to make the spirit you’re talking to say/do something absolutely ridiculous that you know they won’t do using only your thoughts. if they do as you think immediately, then it’s imagination. if you continue your conversation with them and/or they reprimand you, then it’s real.

other signs i’ve noticed when a spirit is real:

  • they say things you don’t expect
  • you get impressions of feelings and thoughts aside from words
  • they teach you things you don’t know
  • you feel a distinct presence when talking to them
  • you might get tired if you talk to them for quite some time (while imaginations don’t tend to suck your energy)
Natal Retrograde Planets

Pluto in Retrograde: Turns transformational energy and personal growth inward. One may be inspired long before they are able to express it to the outward world. Very deeply connected to their subconscious

Yes, I am hard to deal with. I am selfish. I am territorial. What is mine, is mine alone. I don’t want others to share you with me. I tend to be low-spirited and has a low confidence with myself. I easily give up, even if it means letting go of you. I tend to push people away from me for I am afraid of attachments. I don’t want be hurt again. I am scared of hopes that may arise. You are sweet and caring. I am just not ready to love again yet. I don’t understand myself. I am complicated. Yes, I am hard to deal with but please don’t give up on me.

One example of how an exchange with a spirit works for mutual benefit

As a spirit worker of some years of experience, this is how I would personally go through contacting a spirit in order to receive help from the spirit world.

PEN AND PAPER For a serious working I will take a piece of paper and write things down and organize them just as if I was planning them for a spell. What I want to happen, what I would not like to happen, and so on. Then I will also plan my offerings to the spirit. This does not always mean physical items like candles, incense, or bread. This can regularly mean offerings of service. For example some nature spirits may request you spend a certain number of hours doing litter removal or conservation work. Another type of spirit may request that you make a post about it, to increase its fame so it may work with more humans. An important part of this step is what you are not willing to give.

If I am in a more informal setting or doing a less serious act of magic I will often do this phase of planning in my head.

PREPARATIONS Depending on the type of spirit being called there must be certain preparations in place. For a certain type of ritual (which you can find under my articles tag called “spirit worker’s spell”) I will call the quarters and see which spirit of the elements is best suited for the job. To prepare for that I would want my ritual tools to represent the quarters as well as a simple offering to thank the spirits for showing up. If it were a Goetic demon there would be very formal preparations, for example. Just be prepared for your guest.

In general: Work in nature or a clean space (clean space = respectful of your guest). Incense is nice because it is pleasing, especially if you can determine a scent your guest might like. In my path it is polite to have a simple offering of incense to thank a guest just for arriving. Then if you anticipate the spirit will require other physical offerings, have them close at hand. Also have things you regularly rely on such as your grimoire, tarot deck for communication, and so on.

Extra Safety: Work within magic circles. Cast one around yourself with the specific intent to keep out all negative energies and any spirit which wishes you harm or ill-intent. Then, summon the spirit in to a second protected circle, from which it may return home but otherwise cannot leave. (This is assuming the spirit is summoned, as opposed to walking up to it in nature and saying hello). Besides your magic circle have with you a strong amulet of protection (excellent practice if you don’t have one yet!!) and special banishing and “emergency” tools like banishing powders, flying devil oil, salt, and highly uplifting and banishing incenses such as frankincense, rosemary, and bay leaf.

If I am doing a very serious spell I will take a full purifying bath. In general I make sure to never go in to spirit communication with too much “gunk” on me and I often do small or large purifying rituals before spirit work. If your spirit contact made you feel uneasy in any way, consider a purifying and protective bath afterwords (try rosemary, bay leaf, and a heap of basil in salt water!).

CONTACT If I am seeking the help of a specific nature spirit I will go to that place and simply say hello and initiate conversation. Another way to work with nature spirits is having a piece of that natural thing, like some bark, a stone from a mountain, or a jar of water. Use this smaller element to contact the larger spirit! The way I perceive spirits is through the platform of my imagination. A being will appear in my mind’s eye, and I will speak to it through words, visions, and feelings. Other people will have different experiences. “Seeing spirits” is a Golden Standard ™ that distracts people from real communication. A big hint for me is that the energy changes around me when a “real” spirit is near. I really recommend just talking with plants and stones and trees to learn what spirit communication is for you. Don’t compare your experiences to that of others. Don’t you want your own beautiful and unique way speaking with spirits, true to you and your true nature?

If I am instead summoning a spirit I will go through the steps to do that. Usually I can feel the energy change around me before I perceive the spirit. Nature spirits can still be dangerous but especially if summoning ensure you have the proper protective steps such as those mentioned in italics above.

PLEASANTRIES I don’t go straight to business unless I am working with an entity who is known for not liking small talk. I don’t sit down and have a cup of coffee with a spirit and catch up about the kids, but I introduce myself with my magical name, say why I have asked them to come, and ask them if they are agreeable to continue. Sometimes spirits will have certain questions, such as, “why am I in this circle?” I will answer honestly (don’t lie!!!!) and say, “this circle is for my personal protection.” Often, spirits congratulate my forethought on safety. Another spirit may ask if they may first have a glass of water, which is alright by me. I do consider it a red flag if a spirit asks for a big offering right away, as this is not proper protocol. Just as we treat them with etiquette, they should treat us with etiquette.

At this time I also begin reading this spirit in a polite way (not trying to force my way in to their mind; like reading body language). I want to know if the spirit is uncomfortable or gives of bad vibes, or if they seem pleasant and helpful. To do this I pay special attention to my emotions and “back of the mind” thoughts that often slip by unnoticed.

In general once the spirit has finished asking questions, if they even have any, most seem willing to get right down to work. This is after all a business meeting.

THE CONTRACT I will state plainly what I wish to be done. There is no need to say why; I don’t think it’s the spirit’s business, and I don’t think most would care! “I need to ensure my credit card is paid off by June.” “I need my friend’s day at work to go smoothly and quickly.” “I need a teacher in meditation.” Whatever it is I have to say I am clear about it, using carefully thought out language so I am not confusing or vague in the slightest.

There’s a caveat I put in, somewhere, along the line. It sounds like this: “If you are able to accomplish this task for me, then…” You want to make sure you actually state that you expect RESULTS. Anyway, moving on.

Right away, without pause, I roll in to what I have to offer the spirit. If I am working with a certain spirit or type of spirit I have worked with before and I know what they usually like I will come out and say, “I have prepared for you the best wine and cakes” or whatever. Otherwise I will say, “I wish to know what I may pay you in return for this great service.”

This is the moment the spirit may reject this contract. If they have heard what you want and aren’t interested in helping, they’ll make it known to you and either leave immediately or wait for you to say goodbye. Sometimes your first offering wasn’t what they were looking for and that “hold up” feeling you are experiencing could just be the spirit looking for something else. If you get this “woah pause” feeling, try asking the spirit if it prefers a different payment and go from there.

Spirits are sometimes quite clear in what they want in terms of offerings and will tell me immediately, perhaps through a vision of what they want to occur, or maybe through words. Other spirits are a little more reserved and want to know their options; obviously I can’t offer everything, so what’s on the table?

NEGOTIATE In general we settle what the payment is quite quickly. Then comes the negotiation! You are in a business deal. Unless you’re working with some high level systems that tell you otherwise, never give the entire payment up front. If I expect this task to be performed quickly, in a matter of days or a week or two, I say I will give a small offering now to thank them for their arrival, and the full payment will be delivered when the task has been complete. Spirits so far have not had a problem with this. Sometimes I feel reservation as the spirit thinks it through. Don’t worry if you get “pause” emotions or messages like this. You are communicating with another being. Give them space to think.

If you’re asking for something that will take a while to manifest, work out a payment plan. “I propose that I will give you a portion of this payment every time I see X manifest. Is that agreeable to you?” and let them respond. Most spirits I work with tend to prefer simpler arrangements. They will tell you what they can deliver, and expect fair pay for it. A spirit may request payment on a time table (such as partial payment once a week) and I find this to be an alright deal as long as I see results manifesting. Like put your foot down. You are expecting something out of this… you are paying for a job to be done.

Talk about what might happen if the job is not done. In general I just consider all terms to be broken and we walk away. Don’t go in to punishment land. If the spirit fails to uphold their end of the job, their payment is denied. Walk away. On the other hand, if they do the job and you don’t pay…. that’s a whole other ball game. PAY THE SPIRITS. Like omg don’t even go there.

Once the payment has been agreed on, and the payment method has been agreed on, I proceed to the “handshake deal.”

BROKERING THE DEAL No need to sign contracts in blood. You can, however, have a written contract which I think is a great idea, especially for longer “jobs”. Write out the terms clearly. Sign your magical name, then ask the spirit to put its energetic imprint on the page as a symbol of your deal. I rarely bother to do this but it may be preferable for some people.

Generally, I just say, “I am Crann, offering you X and Y payment to help me get my credit card paid by June. I will pay you in full once the job is complete in June. Do you accept this agreement?”

I will then get a word of “yes” or “I agree”, or a vision of a handshake or some other symbol which means “we are in a contract”, or an emotion of acceptance.

SAYING GOODBYE Once the deal is done I often light a candle and incense in honor of the deal agreed upon. I ask the spirit to stay and enjoy the incense as long as it wishes to, which usually is not long. I usually ground out right away by cooking, watching television, and talking to friends.

MONITORING THE DEAL I will keep an eye on things and make sure it all seems to be going according to plan. If it’s an “easy” deal I generally expect to see results immediately; within the day or so. If it’s a big working with big goals I would not be surprised if I had to wait many days or even a period of weeks before I see the results I desire. However, in my opinion there should be signs your spirit agreement is working out. If you make an agreement with a spirit and within a week or two nothing is really happening, there is a possibility that spirit was taking advantage of you or something in your contract imploded.

PAYING THE SPIRIT When the correct time(s) come I will do a small ritual to give payment, partial (according to a ‘payment plan’) or whole, to the spirit. I will typically use a candle as a monument to the occasion as well as pleasing incense. If it is a physical offering I will present it and call the spirit and ask it to partake of its payment. If it is a nonphysical offering I will contact the spirit and tell them I am going to begin my end of the payment, and they can expect to see my end of the deal be performed shortly.

Once you believe you have fully paid the spirit, contact the spirit again and ensure that everything is even-Steven. If it is a physical offering ask them, “are you satisfied and pleased with this agreed upon payment?” Don’t let a spirit weasel you in to even greater payments; if you provided what you agreed upon, you are good. If it is a nonphysical offering I believe it’s good to check in just to make sure there is no misunderstanding of what you are supposed to provide, and to ensure that you are carrying out your payment as you need to.

Here’s a word of advice: Don’t forget to pay them. If you are neuroatypical like me, if you forget things, if you get distracted, if you cannot GUARANTEE you will give the payment, don’t enter in to contracts. Use alerts on your phone, journals, calendars, written contracts, whatever you need to do to remember. But if you are at risk of not remembering, don’t make deals.

BITS AND BOBS There is a fine line when it comes to working with spirits that make you feel uncomfortable. Sometimes a being is just so powerful that our little instincts go AHHHHHH and that’s not necessarily negative. But then sometimes, the spirit does mean us malicious intent and the feelings can be similar. In general I would just advise people to work with spirits that do not give them any feelings of discomfort; many of these spirits exists, and there are times to work with more intimidating spirits up ahead :)

You do not need the MOST POWERFUL ULTRA MEGA SPIRIT to get the job done. The more powerful a spirit is, the more you will have to pay it, and the more experience you will need to manage your encounters with it so you remain safe (this doesn’t even mean negative entities… encountering a huge power wave from a positive entity is something you have to know how to control and handle. I have almost passed out from encountering powerful, positive energies.)

Think about nature. Do you need a problem swept away? Ask a stream spirit. Do you need something burned away? Ask a fire elemental. Do you need something glamoured? Ask a fae. Don’t start with encyclopedias of powerful, named spirits. Start small and local :)

If you need magic done, make a deal. But in general it’s really polite and positive and just a good thing to befriend spirits before you ask them for help. This is in my opinion only!!!! For example I have good connections with many species of magical plant spirits. I am known to them and they are known to me, and in the past some have state they will help me when I need it. If you are a stranger knocking on a door a spirit may help you for pay, but if you are knocking on a friend’s door in need, imagine how much better they may care for you and see your needs are met. This is also why it’s important to give back as much as you can. Take care of the spirit world and nature when you can, and be polite and respectful as often as you can. The spirit world really does take notice.

Theres tons of these floating around the witchy side of tumblr, but I felt I could add some things to the table. Here is my personal master list of witch types!

Ceremonial Witch: Usually the old style of witchcraft is long gone, but these witches live by it. They wear robes, and keep altars and lengthy rituals close to heart.

Draconic Witch: A witch who is often associated with dragons, and is a very fearsome person to come across. This type of witch is almost going extinct, and much of the teaching are passed down personally between teacher and pupil.

Divination Witch: Yes, divination is more of something you can do, but to me, its a type of witch. This witch uses tools and other materials to communicate with spirits, deitys, or their own intuition to get answers or stories they may or may not have known.

Desert Witch: For the witches who live in the desert, they often find ways to make the little materials around them work. Sand, bones, and the herbs that grow around are often the things they use in their magick.

Eclectic Witch: Someone who is not set in there path, but has found many types of witchcraft that suit their craft. Often are associated with many titles, ranging from Storm to Green. Many witches are this.

Energy Witch: These witches use magic visually and internally. They cast circles, and make magic happen using the energy the gain and harvest.

Faery/Nymph Witch: Often an eclectic witch who looks to speak and work with the Fae and other nature spirits (such as Nymphs). This practice is often different for every witch.

Green/Kitchen Witch: Most people consider these two seperate crafts, but usually where one is, the other one is close behind. Witches who are Green enjoy nature, herbs, and anything to do with plants. Kitchen witches (and many, many, MANY, green witches) find uses for plants and incorporate them into food and potions.

Hedge Witch: Sort of a time traveler, but in realm form. These witches live between the astral world, real world, and spirit world.

Heriditary Witch: You were born into a witch family. These witches are often the owners of many hidden gifts, and always have a magical touch. Many also have traditions many other witches do not have.

Moon Witch: Most witches do work with the moon yes, but this type of witch specifically works with it in ways others dont. They revolve certain spells around it, sometimes their days, and often talk to it when they have free time in the night.

Pop Culture Witch: This doesnt just include pop music, but these witches intertwine with magick with music and other forms of entertainment (movies, books, etc.).

Spirit Workers: Witches of this sort tend to be able to speak to the dead, or if not, are definitly not afraid to. Magic to them is revolved around spirits and people of another realm.

Storm Witch: Anyone with a love of storms (and is a witch) has probably done some storm magick. This is someone fearless enough to call lighting, and move the winds.

Sea Witch: The smell of the ocean is this witches best friend. They use the oceans divine sand, seashells, and water to create the magick they so desire. Most also work with mermaids.

Swamp Witch: Often live near rivers, lakes, and of course, swamps. They love the bugs and insects, and devote most of their time walking in the mud, or collecting it for healing.

Sun Witch: Gets most of their energy from the sun other than the moon. Their magic is full of energy, and candles are these witches best friends.

Techno Witch: These witches manage to put magic into text messages, and lace their posts with protection. A curse is just a phonecall away.

Vampric Witch: A vampire, or one who works closely with one, is usually the only one who considers this magick. They use other peoples energy and relay it into their own spells.

Wiccan Witch: This is a witch who has took Wicca as their religion. They use rituals and the power of their gods and goddesses to complete their magick.

Crystal/Rock Witch: Witches of this type use natural occurring rocks and crystals in their craft, absorbing the energy and attributes each one has.

Blood Witch: Blood witches are witches that use blood in their magic, and it’s super powerful. Often takes a lot of practice, and if done wrong, the consequences are unimaginable.

Shadow Witch: A witch who often works with his/her/their own shadow, or in the shadows just as a general statement.

Chaos Witch: This witch is talented in chaos magick, and is often very talented in other types of destructive magick.

Sex Witch: Uses sexual activites in there magick, and uses them to conjure and control energy.

Fabric Witch: A witch that uses fabric and sewing materials to create magick. Can include poppets/voodoo dolls, stichery, or clothing.

Space Witches:Witches that use astrology and anything spacey in their practice.

Music Witches:Music flows through them, provides them energy, and lyrics are often their spells.

Thats it for now! Ill add more as I become familiar to them. If you have any suggestions, please message me.

Opening the Veil

During one of my witchy hangouts, a friend taught me how to open a door to the spirit world. “Opening the Veil” is what they called it. Surprisingly, it wasn’t really that difficult for me–it involved creating a bridge to the spirit realm with my own energy and then opening a door to that bridge I created. Since then, I’ve been able to do it again in my room (with a proper circle, of course).

The first time was pretty cool, because you could definitely feel the shift in energy in the room and the presence of said spirits got much stronger.

I’m going to keep practicing it, because I think I have a knack for (possibly) veil manipulation (I am working with spirits, after all). I just gotta be careful and safe, because I don’t want some shit to come after me.

Spirits have been following me around all day. I don’t mind, except the feeling of being watched gets a little annoying after a while. I keep glancing behind my back (even while I’m typing this) because either my companions or some spirits that might have actually come through the door I opened (whoops) are watching me while I write this.

On the note of companions, it’s gotten much easier to communicate with them since then. My brain isn’t going all foggy when I try to understand them, and I can actually have some pretty solid conversations now (though there will always be that nagging in the back of my mind wondering–am I just making all this up?)

I’ll definitely be writing more about them, and about my weird spiritual experiences while I was in New Jersey (let me just say this–where I stayed had a loooot of history (and a lot of spirits)).

Hello darlings 😘

Since I’m broke as a joke and still kinda in the broomcloset I improvised and made a tiny little maypole for my undercover windowsill altar.
Made out of a pencil stuck in a ball of dough (with some herbs and intent in it), ribbons I cut from clothes, dandelions and random bits I found in the garden. After beltane I will bury the doughball in the garden as an offering.

I figured this would be an excellent crafty idea for spoonies because this took about 10 minutes to make, 15 if you count in rummaging through my garden to nab some dandelions and leafy shit. My adhd brain just kind of vomited out this idea and I rolled with it in a flurry of chaos and incoherence.

Here’s how to make it:

- Mix some flour and water until it’s dough-y. Channel some intent into that muck.
- Add some herbs to it. Whatever you have. I added basil for abundance, rosemary for well, everything 😂 Some thyme since spirits tend to dig that shit, rosepetals for love, a pinch of seasalt for protection (not too much since I want to bury the ball later) and some majoram to tie stuff together in a gentle and loving way.
- Smack doughball on plate.
- Stick leafy shit in it. Some flowers if you have them. I went for dandelions since that’s the only thing that grows in my garden atm.
- Tie ribbons around a pencil. I attached a cluster of tiny pineconethingies on top because I thought it looked nice.
- Stick pencil in dough.
Done.
That’s it. Easy peasy lemon squeasy.
Now go forth and make it yourself!

Happy Beltane and brightest blessings to you all! ❤

ok, these guys are forest spirits in Soot & Ash’s universe, and for lack of a better name, i’m calling them Grori.
These big, flamboyant flowerpots start off as softball sized sprouts and take a few years to grow in the root systems of whatever fauna they find themselves near. The location and the plant life around them during their little hibernation influences their shape, coloration and markings pretty heavily, so theres a wild amount of variation in appearance. And although their size is pretty intimidating, most are very shy spirits and tend to keep out of sight unless their territory’s being threatened, so its rare to see one unless you’ve royally screwed up.

And Soot certainly doesn’t seem to get along with them so well.. maybe they don’t like the smell of old cinders on him, who knows.

Juno Aspects
  • Juno in aspect to any planet can mean you will tend to attract a partner who has traits of the sign that planet rules. For instance, Juno aspecting Mars could attract you to an Aries type.
  • Juno Aspects the Sun: There will be a tendency to attract showy, dramatic, Leo types of partners. Conversely, this person could themselves become more showy and dramatic after marriage. The harmonious aspects (conjunction, sextile, and trine) can act in a similar fashion to Venus. They increase the charm and social graces to a degree. But Juno goes further. It can give one an air of innocence. We like people with Venus in conjunction the Sun because they are charming. Those with Juno in harmonious aspect to the Sun are liked because they are "cute." The stressful aspects, however, are indicators of ego conflicts with partners. Frequently, there are big problems with getting and holding on to a partner. In many cases, there is no desire to have a partner at all. Demetra George in her excellent book Asteroid Goddesses quotes Gloria Steinhem's famous answer to the question "Why didn't you ever get married?" Steinhem (who has the Sun in Aries square Juno in Capricorn) replied, "I don't mate well in captivity."
  • Juno Aspects the Moon: The attraction will be to emotional and nurturing partners, and domestic types. At least they will tend to be nurturing with the harmonious aspects conjunction, sextile and trine. The stressful aspects (square and opposition) can indicate a clash between your emotional and partnership needs. You could get a partner who is over-emotional or whines a lot. Conversely, the partner could bring out those traits in you.
  • Juno Aspects Mercury: Well, your partner won't be quiet. Forget the silent type. Anyone who marries you will have to communicate, communicate, communicate. The harmonious aspects (conjunction, sextile and trine) indicate good communication between the two of you. It could also show that your ability to communicate improves with partnership. The stressful aspects (square and opposition) can indicate communication problems with partners. One of you may try to stifle the other here because you both want to talk at once.
  • Juno Aspects Venus: The attraction will be to a charming partner with good artistic ability and taste. At least that will tend to be true for the harmonious aspects (conjunction, sextile and trine). The stressful aspects (square and opposition) could attract a lazy, slothful, and indolent partner. Partnership could also bring out these traits in you. With stressful aspects, there will tend to be a clash between your partnership needs (Juno) and your ability to express love and affection (Venus). As a result, you might find it difficult to express love to your partner (or vice-versa) and would seek to do this elsewhere. Years ago, there was a TV program called "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" which was a satire on soap operas. Mary's husband had affairs with all the other women in town and was impotent only with her.
  • Juno Aspects Mars: Marriage and partnership will stir you to action. In fact, you may need a partner to be active at all. The partners you attract will tend to be active, assertive, and aggressive. Conversely, having a partner may bring out these traits in you. The stressful aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) are indicators of arguments with partners. One of you may try to dominate the other.
  • Juno Aspects Jupiter: The partner will tend to be expansive optimistic, and "jovial" (jovial comes from Jove, Jupiter). Marriage and partnerships will also have an expansive effect on you. Yes, it can make you more optimistic. Watch out that it doesn't make you fat as well. At least this will be true for the harmonious aspects (conjunction, sextile and trine). The stressful aspects (square, and opposition) can attract an over-optimistic partner who is always expecting their "lucky break" to be right around the corner. There could also be a clash over religious or philosophical differences. The over-expansiveness could also apply to extra-marital affairs. If you have a stress aspect between Juno and Jupiter, either you or your partner might think that the "to have, hold, and love" part of the marriage vow means anyone whom you fancy at the moment.
  • Juno Aspects Saturn: The partners will tend to be older (in spirit if not in actual years). With the harmonious aspects (sextile and trine) partners are likely to be solid, practical, and dependable, but, unless there are other indicators, don't expect them to be the life of the party. Conversely, partnership could bring out the solid, practical, and dependable side of you.The stressful aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) may cause marriage to be delayed, or even denied. If you have this one, try not to get married before your first Saturn Return (which occurs around the age of twenty nine). Stressful aspects between Juno and Saturn can have a similar effect to Saturn placed in the 7th house. An early marriage (before the Saturn Return) will slowly decay until there is no affection left and the marriage collapses. Juno/Saturn stress aspects can also indicate someone who makes a bad marriage for "practical" reasons, such as security. They will also be prone to stay in a bad marriage to protest their social image, or because "a half a loaf is better than none." As if there is anything "practical" about having a bad marriage! These people have to learn to cut their losses and make a fresh start.
  • Juno Aspects Uranus: If you have this combination in your horoscope (especially the stressful aspects, the conjunction, square, or opposition) I have a question for you. Let's say you walk into a room where there are twenty people, and nineteen of them are sane and normal, but the twentieth person either escaped from an insane asylum or just got off of a UFO, guess which one you would be most likely to marry? (Hint: it's not the first nineteen). Uranus always has to be Different. When Juno aspects Uranus, the partner or the partnership has to be different. With the harmonious aspects (sextile and trine) you don't get into as much trouble. The partner will tend to be independent, or very bright, or a bit odd. The partnership itself will likely be more "open" with each partner doing their own thing and going their own way. Uranus is fanatic about having enough of its own space. The stressful aspects can lead to several marriages. Elizabeth Taylor has Juno in Cancer square Uranus in Aries (Uranus is also in a close conjunction with Venus). Years ago, Julian Armistead gave a lecture on her chart. He had several of the press clippings that quoted her at the time of her marriages. Her first marriage to Nick Hilton: "I've never known it was possible to be this much in love. This is going to last forever." Her second marriage a couple of years later to Michael Wilding: "This time, it's the real thing. This is going to last forever." Her fifth marriage to - well who can keep track? "This time I mean it. It's the real thing." Juno in Cancer always wants it to last "forever" and Uranus always makes you think it's the "real thing." If you have a Juno/Uranus stress aspect, don't rush into marriage. And forget about having a partnership that is conventional. It would bore you to tears - and divorce. Make sure that you and your partner each has enough "space." It helps if one of you travels a lot (Uranus aspects are perfect for bi-costal marriages). Absence for this combination truly makes the heart grow fonder.
  • Juno Aspects Neptune: If you have a stressful aspect (conjunction, square, or opposition) between Juno and Neptune, please, PLEASE do not marry someone because you feel sorry for them or because you want to "save" them. Remember this magic number. If you do, you will never again have the problem of getting into a marriage for the wrong reasons. Please memorize it. It's 911. Dial that and have them taken away so they can be helped by a professional. Then, get into therapy yourself to cure your masochism. On the positive side especially with the harmonious aspects (sextile and trine) the partner will tend to be sensitive, empathetic, and imaginative. Marriage and partnership can also bring out these same traits in you. In all cases, there will be an inclination to over idealize the partner, to see what we want to see about them.
  • Juno Aspects Pluto: Partners will tend to be intense and secretive. Sex can be volcanic. Pluto is the planet of extremes, death, and transformation. Either your power or that of your partner will be affected by marriage. One of you is likely to be transformed in some way. The harmonious aspects (sextile and trine) can bring out a strength you never thought you had. The stressful aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) will bring out strength too, in the form of dictatorial attitudes and power struggles. One of you will try to dominate the other. The feelings towards the partner can easily go from "I love you" to "I hate you" to "I'm obsessed with you." Even if the two of you break up, this will be the partner you never forget (for better or worse).
  • Juno Aspects the Ascendant: Juno in conjunction with the Ascendant makes us more attractive, like Venus. But while Venus uses charm, Juno attracts by giving us an air of innocence, like that of a young baby. This trait is also present with the other harmonious aspects (sextile and trine) but not quite as strong. The opposition is not a stressful aspect here. Remember that an opposition to the Ascendant is also a conjunction to the Descendant. The conjunction to the Ascendant makes a person more marriage oriented, especially if Juno is in the 1st house. If Juno is on the 12th house side of the Ascendant, however, then there will still be an increased desire to marry, but there will be increased restrictions of some sort (see Juno in the 12th house). With the square aspect of Juno to the Mid-Heaven, there would tend to be extra stress in marriage that requires constant adjustment and re-adjustment. At least it will not be dull.
  • Juno Aspects the Mid-Heaven: Aspects to the Mid-Heaven affect one's career and "public image." Juno-ruled careers include marriage councilor and people who work in organizations that try to prevent wife-battering and child abuse. Like Venus, Juno has an attraction for all occupations that involve beauty and adornment. This also includes anything involving the arts. When it comes to career, it doesn't matter if an aspect to the Mid-Heaven is harmonious or stressful. In fact, the stressful aspects can frequently bring greater success since they generate more power. Those with harmonious aspects may take it too easy and not push hard enough.
Fenris Theory

You guys…

So I was recently watching party comments/reactions for certain thingies for DA2, and I came across a very crazy realization.

So when the whole party is being blood magicked by Idunna, the craziest things happened. So like - when Hawke asks these guys what the hell is wrong with them because they’re telling him to take it easy on her, all of the party members are like - naaaahhh just be gentle, she’s nice and we shouldn’t be hard on her - ALL EXCEPT for the mages…

…and FENRIS.

So I was like - DA FUCK. All the mages are like - “Woah, what the hell am I saying, this lady is doing something weird, Hawke.” And everyone who isn’t a mage is like - “take it easy, she’s had it rough blah blah”, EXCEPT for Fenris! When Hawke is like, “what the hell is wrong with you?” Fenris is like “I-I don’t know, be careful.”

WAT.

Why is he the only non-mage who doesn’t get fooled or enchanted (all the way) by this blood mage?

Obviously the answer is because he has those markings - BUT do you realize what this means!? You guys - this means Fenris’s connection to the fade is as strong as a mage’s.

Those lyrium markings don’t just affect his physical abilities, but his entire body is wired like a mage’s. He’s just as connected to the fade - Fenris just isn’t marked by lyrium - he IS lyrium. Woooaaahh. So basically - because lyrium exists in the fade just as much as in reality - his abilities actually give them the ability to phase into the fade.

THAT’S WHAT HE’S DOING WHEN HE PHASES.

He’s phasing in and out of the fade!

SOOOOOO.

That also means that if he basically has that ability, then he should be able to physically travel between the two worlds. HEHEHE.

This also means that if he is lyrium, he should be able to hear and understand the song of both blue and red lyrium. (I’ll get to that significance another time).

What this also means, that if you for some insane reason, chose to have your Hawke “die” in the fade (the creators said that whoever was left in there isn’t necessarily dead) then Fenris is actually the only person (now that the Inquisitor had their arm chopped off) that is capable of saving him.

If Fenris is this perfect blend of a living lyrium catalyst, he could successfully enter the fade and get Hawke out of there. I firmly believe that if that was studied more than he would be able to do it. As Danarius had wanted of his slave, Fenris was basically a limitless supply of lyrium for his magic.(Again, how this is done I will get into another time).

Another thing that made me stop and turn to look at Fenris a couple times is his insane ability to feel the veil. Though they could be just offhand comments, I somehow doubt that. The example I’m referring to here is his comment as you walk on the Bone Pit for the first time. Fenris says: “Many slaves died here, their cries linger in the stone.” But if you recall from any Dragon Age lore, we all know that the veil is thin where great tragedy struck, such as war, murder, and of course the slaughtering of many innocent slaves. It’s obvious that what Fenris is “hearing” is the cries of the spirits who are mimicking the deaths of those slaves that were slaughtered. But the only way one could hear that, would be if they could actually feel the veil, much like any other mage who is attuned to the Fade. Fenris is just as attuned to it, and he shows this time and time again.

Of course he could just be being epic, but again, I doubt that, as that’s a pretty amazing comment for someone who isn’t a mage.

I’m also piecing this together in the aspect about this - after Fenris sleeps with Hawke, he says he’s was able to recall his memories. I think by now that us FenHawke shippers have a canon that Fenris’s markings light up during “intense” moments, but think about this. What if the reason why Fenris is able to recall his memories at that time is because his lyrium is allowing him to brief the fade? What if those markings bring him ever closer to the fade, to a point where spirits would begin to take the shape of his memories that he so desperately wants back? That would explain why he was able to recall those memories, even though his mind had been wiped, and also why he immediately forgot them once they had stopped.

Now, I know you must be thinking “wait - wouldn’t that mean that Fenris would be able to recall his memories every time he lit up to tear someone’s heart out?”

No, not necessarily.

I’m a huge fan of the idea that spirits of compassion, though rare, tend to seek those that are searching and looking for something. While Fenris fights, that’s obviously not pleasurable, and his mind isn’t focused on the things he wants.

However, I believe that while he and Hawke slept together, that was a moment of intense want. He wanted something, and his mind was in a place where coupled with that intense emotion, his lyrium linked to the fade. In this instance, it wouldn’t be too surprising that a spirit came along and generously allowed him to recall his memories.

I like this theory, and I think that, out of some of the ones I’ve heard, this is nicely simple and would explain a lot of his power.

I’ll keep adding to this if I find more proof!

(Also, if you’d like, I’ve posted a theory on how this plays a part in Hawke’s rescue. Check it out)

The 6th house through the Planets and Signs

helloooo everyone right now I’m reading a book about the houses called The twelve houses: Exploring the Houses of the Horoscope by Howard Sasportas & Liz Greene. I wanted to get more info on the 12 house but I became fascinated with the 6th house. Maybe b/c it’s a earth house and it’s a practical or traditional house and my Cap Dom ass is intrigued lol idk but if you’re interested in the 6th house keep reading!!

Just some of the things the 6th house deals with:
-Health
-Work: our thoughts on work and how we obtain positions, how we converse with our co-workers and authority figures
-Service: how we handle being served and how we service others
-pets
-regular everyday tasks
-craftsmanship

The 6th house is the 5th houses boundaries. I’d like to think. For example: You bought a new car (5H) don’t forget to keep it clean, get gas, get the oil changed pay the insurance (6H). Lol I guess you can also say the 6H is the water that puts out 5H Fire or really just grounding the 5H. The 6H is how we unconsciously deal with everyday activities. It showcases the energies we bring to our mundane tasks and how we deal with them. The 6H is our reality check as I like to think of it. It’s takes many journeys through who we are on the inside and what surrounds us on the outside. (The book says this and I agree.)

The 6th house through the signs/planets:

The Sun/Leo in the 6H: the ego and identity revolves around health, daily routines and work. This person will feel the need to organize daily routines. This person will want to learn how to navigate everyday life in the most practical manner. They may even be the type to clean or organize when they are stressed. This person needs to have boundaries and routines it empowers them. They also enjoy servicing others. These people have learned how to care for their body. But some may learn this lesson later. When they start to neglect their health and cause illness their number one priority will be to get their health back up. Nothing else with be important to them during this time. They also have a knack for encouraging others to participate in a healthy lifestyle or to be more aware of their health.

The Moon/Cancer in the 6H: These people will find comfort and security when dealing with everyday activities. There mood depends on the ability to function through the mundane tasks. Illnesses that can run in the family should be considered and people should take the necessary precautions when preventing them. They can be emotionally engaged at work being wrapped in the personal lives of their co-worker or people that service them.

Mercury/ Gemini and Virgo in the 6H: these people need to gain knowledge in the process of dealing with everyday life and maintains health. These people’s health concerns may stem from excessive worrying, going over board when it comes to being active and not allowing their bodies to rest. People with These placements should be conscious of how much time they are using, and where they place their time. Sometimes these placements can make someone want to be super busy and they build their day with so many activities. Which can cause them to stress. People with these placements should engage in activities that allow lots of movement. Be aware of gossiping, slander and back biting in the work place. This placement can also have sibling issues that are unresolved to arise in the work place.

Venus/ Taurus and Libra in the 6H: people with this placement may have a tendency to fall for their co-workers. People with these placements will definitely like to improve their skills, talents and abilities. They enjoy adding flare to whatever they do. It has to be beautiful. People with this placement tend to put their artistic abilities to good use. They tend to create careers out of them. They also desire harmony in the work atmosphere. Beware of over indulging. People with these placements need to learn how to have a good balance. Taurus gives determination to accomplishing tasks while Libra is diplomatic when engaging in conversation with co-workers. Can become ill if too stressed.

Mars/Aries in the 6H: people with these placements may be impatient with co-workers. But these people usually want to run everything by them selves. But they will stand up for what’s right. Even stand up for a colleague they believe is being mistreated. With these placements it can vary between overly aggressive or just outspoken and standing up for the little guy in the workforce. Check what’s being aspects to Mars and the 6H.

Jupiter/ Sagittarius in the 6H: People with this placement might fill their time with too many activities and responsibilities. They may quickly finish one task just to get to the next. They take pride in their work and usually have a lot of energy for work. With this placement their could be travel, public, relations, educational activities amongst other things. Some people may be bogged down with many different activities or responsibilities and forget to take care of their bodies. Some may obsess about health if it has anything with cleansing the spirit. With Jupiter and it being excessive I’d be careful. Beware of fad diets. Usually, with these placements they want to be one with their body and spirit. So, in some cases they may tend to turn to crash diets if they believe it will cleanse them spiritually and make them one with there body mind and soul. However, this may not always be the case. People with these placements can also inspire others to take a positive approach about their self care.

Saturn/Capricorn in the 6H: people with this placement are great with organizing and have great administrative abilities. They also are good with details. They could thing their daily tasks are demanding and oppressive. They need a routine but they also can feel frustrated and trapped. I’d say a healthy balance is good for these placements as well. When it comes to illness it’s usually is a wake up call that they are living in an imbalanced lifestyle. They can be overly critical with people they work with. They can also fear being unacceptable or inadequate to their boss or co-workers. Losing a pet can push this placement over the edge.

Uranus/Aquarius in the 6H: this placement can learn that in order to change the outside you must first change the inside. They ask a lot of questions when faced with difficulties in their everyday lives. They’re approach work in a non conventional way. They have to always be engaged. Usually they find it difficult to work under others because they need to do the job in their own way. But also check aspects because they can bring inventive ideas while working with co workers. They may get unorthodox pets.

Neptune/Pisces in the 6H:
Weak nervous system. Could be prone to colds and illnesses. People with this placement should take precautions to Strengthen their nervous system. Could benefit better from home remedies or all natural medicines. There faith plays a huge part in recovery. Usually are very sensitive to the work place atmosphere. They could be the scapegoat. Always taking the blame for everything wrong (Like Jerry from Parks and Rec) however, some people may turn to them for support. They could be the person that everyone goes to to relieve their stress/burdens. Usually not interested in mundane activities.

Pluto/Scorpio in the 6H:
People with this placement should know that when it comes to illness it’s usually and indicator or other issues. Everyday tasks cane be very important. They are usually dedicated when it comes to work or a tasks. They usually want to always improve methods that exist already in the work place. They must have work that is totally consuming and engaging.

***most of the things in here is from the book. I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you pick up the book and get to know your houses a little bit better***
