ten is a lot

That was a lot of emotions to shove into a ten minute time frame. It really twisted my expectations at the end.

The music was done masterfully in this episode. It felt like something I would hear in a fantasy video game and framed the mood and imagery perfectly.

An Indirect Kiss gets a 9/10

I’m going to take a 30-40 minute break to collect myself before moving on the next one. My ask reader told me the next two are best watched together, so those will be my last two for today. :)

iwanttosavestiles  asked:

What were the next gen kids like as babies?

Claudia was fairly easy. She went through two months of colic (not easy) but after that she was a breeze. Never got into too much trouble.

The twins were hellions. Specifically Ally. If she was left alone in a room for more than ten minutes everything would be destroyed. Cried a lot for attention. Was that kid who would push her sippy cup off of her highchair then be like reaching for it, within ten seconds of Stiles or Lydia putting it back on her tray she’d push it down again. Reese was calm, didn’t cry too much and definitely didn’t pull any of those stunts like Ally. He would occasionally join her but learned very quickly that that did not make mommy very happy.

Imagine Jack running into Beyoncé at the airport, prolly in the VIP waiting area and at first he doesn’t realise she’s there because he’s very into his book, but when he does he’s torn because obviously he understands she might not want to be bothered but on the other hand Bitty might marry him just so that he can divorce him for wasting this opportunity.

Then he has an idea. The best idea.

Fast forward to a year later.

“Hey Bits, you need to see something.”

“What is it hon?”

“Just sit here and press play.”

Bitty does.

Video starts playing. Beyoncé is talking.

“Hey Bitty, Jack has been telling me a lot about you in the past ten minutes and I have to say, I think you got a keeper! He mentioned this song was part of a very special moment for you both, so let’s keep the tradition going!”

*Beyoncé starts signing Halo*

Camera moves to a nervously grinning Jack.

“Hey Bits, I hope you forgive me for not telling you who I met at the airport straight away…”

*signing in the background is interrupted by Beyoncé laughing but quickly resumes*

“I know we have only been dating for a few months, but from the moment we kissed I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you, and I hope you feel the same. So…”

Jack shows a napkin to the camera that’s says, “Yo Marry Me Eric Bittle” on it.

“Say Yes Bitty!” Beyoncé whispers in the background.

Video ends.

And that’s how Bitty gets the best proposal of all times and receives a napkin signed by Beyoncé instead of a ring.

(For the record he does get a ring, but we all know which one he went for when Jack got on one knee to ask the question in person.)

(Jack will always jokingly say that he knew Bitty would never go against Beyoncé, so he was making absolutely sure his proposal was be bullet proof.)

A guide to being a vocal citizen

For people wondering how to take action post-election of a racist demagogue (pulled from Twitter and cleaned up):

Make a spreadsheet or a file for your representatives with names, addresses to their offices, phone numbers, and contact forms. Put everyone there. Make a note in your calendar app to check in on issues once a month.

Pay attention to news. If you get angry, upset, or worried, seek support from friends but ALSO shoot these reps an email, too. Be courteous but firm and blunt. It’s a numbers game. Often we remain invisible because we don’t go to events and rallies and can’t be physically present. But we can attach our names to emails, we can write letters, we can be vocal. We don’t have to be invisible.

You can do this with your national reps, state reps, and local reps. If someone reps you anywhere, note them. Open a line and revisit it. It’s hard work and slow. One email at a time. One letter at a time. One call at a time. Emails are easy these days, so splurge every few months on a stamp and send a letter if you can. Put your humanity in front of these people. Flout it. Some won’t care, but others will. Change ONE mind and results can cascade.

Rural areas are bubbles full of bigotry and now it’s newly revealed. But we white people who live here have the clout and power! We can speak up when our reps say terrible things, and do terrible things, and vote terrible ways. We can go “I am disappointed in you.” It’s work, but as we’ve seen the last six months, it’s time for us to do that work. If someone goes “who are your reps” you gotta know. If you don’t know and you’re mad about this election, it’s time to create that file and keep it with you and use it.

The time for social media rants only is over. Or, do those, but maybe pull those threads out into a paragraph and send them to your reps. And don’t ONLY email or contact when things go badly. Also reach out when things go right. Even if they voted AGAINST something. Treat them like you would want to be treated if you were wrong or mistaken. But we’ve gotta reach out and let them know we’re here.

Anyway, I know this is hard work. If you need help collecting your reps, give me a ping via DM and I’ll help you get started.

me: so you guys would say you love each other right?

parents: of course

me: would the universe rip in half if you were separated from each other?

parents: no i dont think so..

me: everyone lies. liars here. liars there. liars every fuckin where.

Favorite moments from Ten Count cast talk~

A compilation of some highlights from the cast talks in the four volumes of Ten Count drama CDヾ(*ΦωΦ)ツ

1. Mysophobia

(CD1)

Maeno Tomoaki (Kurose’s seiyuu): I’m slightly mysophobic. I really don’t like it when people use my bathroom…

Tachibana Shinnosuke (Shirotani’s seiyuu): Ahh! I want to use it!

Maeno: *lol* Are you a do-S?

… (when concluding the talk)

Tachibana: I got to see a lot of things that I never knew about Maeno-kun before this time.

Maeno: I hope people can take those things (about me) in a positive way.

Tachibana: Sooner or later, I’ll make sure to use your bathroom.

Maeno: *LOL* Are you a do-S?

2. Four-Letter Ikemen Friend

(CD1, still on the topic of mysophobia)

Tachibana: Do you invite friends to your house then, Maeno-kun?

Maeno: I do, but only certain people have come into my house…

Tachibana: Hehhh~

Maeno: If we’re talking about the people in the (voice acting) circle, only one person has been to my place…

Tachibana: Wow!

Maeno: …That friend of mine, um, whose name starts with a K, um, and has three, no, four letters…

Tachibana: *laughs*

Maeno: That ikemen friend of mine…

Tachibana: *laughs* Oh, ikemen! An ikemen seiyuu.

Maeno: He’s the only one who’s been to my house.

Tachibana: Wow, is that so?

Maeno: That’s how much I don’t like to let people into my house…

Tachibana: Hehhhh!

Maeno: So I can kind of understand Shirotani’s feelings.

3. Not Very Tiring

(CD1, at the very beginning)

Tachibana: Otsukare-sama deshita. (“Thank you for your hard work,” or more literally, “You must’ve been tired.”)

Maeno/Fukushima Jun (Mikami’s seiyuu): Otsukare-sama deshita!

Maeno: I am not very tired! (Because *nothing really happened* in CD 1 lol)

Tachibana: Pfft!

*everyone laughs*

Tachibana: You’re right.

(And then in CD2)

Maeno: I think last time (in the first CD), Kurose’s aggressiveness is based more on his position as a psychologist, but this time he starts to become aggressive for his own emotional reasons… We can see more fluctuation in his emotion.

Tachibana: Yeah, you’re probably right. Since he is also starting to see how Shirotani feels, (Kurose) tries to push (their relationship) a step further.

Maeno: There is a chance that he’ll have an emotional outburst next time, and things are gonna get dramatic.

*everyone laughs*

Tachibana: Well, he’s been holding himself back the whole time…

Maeno: There is a chance that we’ll feel tired after the next recording session.

Tachibana: *LOL*

Let’s talk about Tendou for a bit

So we’re getting a bit more Tendou in S3 E2 and this is nice because Tendou is one of the more… interesting characters.
In the manga he was one of the first ones I truly managed to despise (at least for like ten chapters).
A lot of it has to do with the eyes, but also with the way he holds himself. His face is weird, he mocks his opponents at every turn, he’s got a Very Strange sense of humor and loyalty, and his posture always seems wrong, somehow. His neck is usually at an angle, he just feels… off.

And the anime takes that little factoid and runs with it.

Haikyuu’s animation is usually very, very smooth, you see. Tendou’s is not.

Dude is a twitchy bastard. He moves erratically when he’s not actually playing. And watching him this episode, combined with the voice, it took a while for me to put my finger on what it is that makes it so unnerving.

The swaying, the twitching… you usually see that sort of thing in zombie movies. His animation is basically that of a horror monster.

I mean, obviously he’s being set up as the antagonist for the next episode. He is the ‘guess monster’ after all, but I never realized you could put that level of detail into the way you make a character move.

Alright guys, here it is. I have managed to compile art from roughly the past ten years. This was quite the trick seeing as back in the day I drew only traditionally and rarely posted anything. I didn’t get a tablet until I was 18.

So here is my progress as seen above. I’ve been drawing a lot longer, but this year marks ten years of posting online with my work. I was honestly hoping to see more improvement than I do with these and it’s a little disheartening, but I wanted to show you guys where I’ve come from, and hopefully you’ll be with me as I continue to work hard to improve. c:

My old art is mostly up on my old Deviantart Hazumi-Yuki. Someday I’ll just nuke that account. XD

to the prankster who put “the moon” as the address on their online pizza delivery order: thanks a whole dang lot. i was up there for like ten minutes just aimlesly waiting, ringing the doorbell, kicking moon rocks around

seeing young teenagers embracing 2007 internet culture/aesthetic/speak in the kidcore/rainbowcore/kiddycore communities is such a beautiful thing. i think its beautiful because ive been around since 2007, and those years were golden for kids having fun and being themselves. the growth of the internet in the last ten years has provided lots of things, some of it being positive, but a lot unfortunately has become a cesspool of hatred.

between teenagers and adults alike on social media, nowadays kids are introduced to this hatred and darkness of the world early on with such easy access to it and it drives them into unhealthy behaviors and mindsets, such as suicide baiting/callout culture (NOT referring to calling out people who actually do very bad harmful things- such as pedophiles, suicide baiters, racist/neo-nazis/etc- making people aware of when they do bad things is good- but i mean the sorts who send hate and suicide bait to innocent 13 year olds over saying something wrong once and stalk them down repeatedly and bully them into suicide and self-harm etc.)

this is what kids are exposed to nowadays, and in these safe communities, people are embracing what redditors/4channers make fun of and call “cringey” and being themselves because it makes them happy. not only this, but kids in these communities moderate themselves and keep out NSFW/kink bloggers that sexualize children and create boundaries to keep their internet exposure safe, because theyre mature enough to do so. these kids embrace this time because its nostalgic and comforting, and has no super bad associations other than those who called it cringey and edgy all these years. the only bad people in these spaces are those who try to invade them.

let people use scene/l33t speak, use XD unironically, and make bright eyebleeding dog OCs. let them love nightcore. just let them enjoy this while they still can, for the love of god. and if they dont grow out of it (like i didnt) leave them be. a majority of these kids are lgbt, autistic, and trauma victims just trying to cope, and then there are just other kids who do it because it makes them happy. they arent harming anyone. if you bully them, you are.

my ten cents about vriska serket’s “abilities” as a “manipulator”:

i think a lot of the reason people are flabbergasted to see the words “vriska isn’t manipulative” is because first of all, there is a big misunderstanding about the nuance of abuse and abusive situatuations and which harmful aspects of abuse (manipulation, gaslighting, battery, etc) are at play in which instances of abuse. abuse isn’t black and white and not all abuse has the same exact hallmarks – someone can be abusive without being manipulative.

the other big issue i’m seeing is that so much of the fandom has a really poor understanding of vriska’s character.

there are a lot of people in this fandom who believe that vriska is cruel for the sake of cruel, mean because she wants to be, and a master manipulator who destroys the lives of everyone around her and laughs at the wreckage.

in ACTUALITY… vriska is a mess. a lot of the things she does are stupid, impulsive things she later very vocally regrets. she doesn’t actually strive for complete chaos – sadly, she’s very often actually trying to help, but she has poor social skills, no friends who trust her, and a hair trigger temper that often sends her into tantrums. she’s extremely emotional and impulsive.

and it’s not to say vriska can’t be clever – she is a smart girl who sometimes actually does execute plans that work (it happened once!) and the whole situation with jade and prototyping bec (i can’t remember the details exactly) was certainly a time when vriska cleverly executed something she was attempting. it completely fucking failed and blew up in everyone’s faces! but she is clever enough to come up with elaborate schemes in a pinch. they just don’t usually… work, and in most situations she uses brute force or has a meltdown instead of doing anything actually clever

vriska isn’t ACTUALLY a one note villain. that’s why people like her. her motivations are far from one dimensional cartoon villain – in fact, sadly, her motivation for her shitty behavior is either “abused child with no outlet and poor social skills trying to cope” or “my poor temperament flared and now all my friends hate me even more and i have to fix it”

vriska wanting to be a hero is hilarious in the context of the comic, especially when hussie first introduced her and she was absolutely insufferably annoying and pointlessly cruel. but as hussie elaborated on her character she became much deeper and more complex – her wanting to be a hero isn’t just because she’s a glory hound. it’s also because her life circumstances made her a child soldier who could not afford to have friends and whose social skills were too poor for her to ask for help or reach out to others. vriska wants people to respect her for a lot of reasons, but one big one is that she’s an abuse survivor who was starved of positive attention her entire fucking life

of course she wants to be a hero because of mindfang and because she’s a glory hound and etc, but it also boils down to the fact that vriska is literally too. fucking weird to understand “being nice to people” = friends, and probably feels like she’s too far gone for “being nice” to get her anywhere, so she HAS to be the big damn hero. THEN she will have made up for all of her wrongdoings. THEN her friends will truly forgive her. THEN people will like and respect her genuinely instead of hating her and mocking her to her face.

“I doubt myself like, 400,000 times per ten minute intervals. It’s like I have a lot of doubts, I have a ridiculously, terrifyingly long list of fears. Like, literally. Like, everything. Everything. Diseases, spiders, like..like the support of roofs. Or I get scared of the idea of people getting tired of me in general, which is a broader concept. I doubt myself a lot.”
