nymphadora tonks has known alastor moody for exactly four days before she begins to address him by one of two names and two names only
the first time she calls him this, it’s at the end of the day and she shouts it as he’s clunking away
see you tomorrow, mad-eye, we’ll all try not to lose a buttock in the meantime
all the other auror cadets freeze because they think they’re maybe about to watch one of their fellow trainees be murdered by the most legendary auror any of them are ever going to meet
they’re absolutely sure of it when moody stops walking and they know he’s looking at them through the back of his head with his magical eye so they’re all trying very hard not to make any sudden movements or loud noises so they don’t draw any attention to themselves
except for tonks, who is fucking waving with the world’s largest shit-eating grin on her face
and then moody starts walking again, shouting back constant vigilance!
2) the man the myth the legend, auror mister alastor q. moody, sir, the constantly vigilant
she has no idea what moody’s actual middle name is, and she’s not sure there’s a living person who does
so she just picks a new middle initial every time, whatever strikes her fancy at the moment
she’s particularly fond of u, because every time someone new hears her say it and asks what his middle name is she tells them it’s unicorn.
alastor unicorn moody?
it’s a very old family name, you know how purebloods can get with their names.
sometimes when she does this, moody breaks out her full name, all nine syllables and twenty-four letters, in revenge
in revenge for that, tonks will get kingsley to do it, which he does in that calm, deep voice of his that sounds a bit like it’s chipping something into stone
moody deeply regrets taking either of them on as his proteges
(he does not actually regret it, even a little bit, not even when they tell the new recruits about it and he has to scare the life out the first one to dare uttering the words the man the myth the legend within a kilometer of him. that’s actually sort of fun.)
It is bittersweet that I present to you my last ever theory for Pretty Little Liars. I apologise in advance for the insane length, but this is covering all those frustrating loose ends across the entire series. I hope you can make it to the end so we can discuss. My only fear for this theory is that it is too daring and gutsy; it would re-define the show we thought we knew. Are the writers willing to ‘go there’ in just 10 episodes? I don’t know! Regardless if this is all right, partially right, or so damn wrong, I hope you have as much fun reading this as I did putting this together the past two months! For the last time before the show ends… I hope you enjoy!
making a mess, sarcastic quips, shooting hoops and basketball tricks, roaming the streets, doing impressions, setting up elaborate pranks, getting bored of activities halfway through, going out for pizza, twisting their cap round on their head, wearing the same t-shirts for days, going out of your way to do each other favours, always having an apple in your pockets, energy drinks, pokemon, all-out halloween costumes, staying up way too late. about shiro not backing keith’s story in bom: i think there’s other factors that a lot of people overlook. namely, the fact that shiro’s response isn’t just him reacting to an isolated incident–its him finally putting together the pieces after a long time of dealing with constant doubt and concern. because he knows something’s up with keith. in season 2, he’s the only one that does. on two separate occasions, he takes keith aside and tries to talk to him, to ask him what’s wrong, to try and get him to open up. and every time keith shuts him out? you can see the fear on shiro’s face, can see that he feels like they’re slowly drifting apart and he’s losing keith
these two strike me as friends who probably used to tell each other everything. so the fact that keith is refusing to talk now, that he’s forcing this distance between them? shiro doesn’t know what to think. and when he sees keith has this alien knife and is maybe part galra? maybe isn’t even from earth at all? shiro is very quickly finding out that this person he’s very close to, someone who he thought he knew everything about, is quite literally becoming alien. his best friend is suddenly a stranger, and he’s questioning whether he ever even knew him at all
looking at shiro’s face here, he looks just as panicked as keith. despite how good he is at improvising and acting, he doesn’t even have it in him to scrape together an excuse or cover story. he’s genuinely shocked, and just blurts the words out without thinking. “I…I don’t know”–he hesitates, stumbles. he’s seeing the person he thought he was really close to in a whole new light, and he doesn’t know how to handle it
and keith? when he’s down on the ground, the first thing he says is “Shiro, you know me.” becuase he’s trying desperately to bridge that gap, to make shiro see–to prove that, even if keith’s going through some shit, even if he doesn’t know who he himself is, he hasn’t changed. the person shiro knew is still the same.
also, look at shiro’s face after that exchange. that doesn’t look like someone who just sold out or distrusts their friend. he takes the time to look at keith and kinda check in, to see how vulnerable and scared he looks (scared because he thinks shiro doesn’t trust him)
before he goes right back to glaring and confronting the bom
he then tells keith theyre leaving and starts walking away. he realizes there’s some kind of conflict here between keith and the bom, so he tries to separate them. if he really didnt trust his friend, he would’ve insisted he either 1 hand over the knife or 2 started asking a bunch of personally invasive questions–after all, this is the person that insisted on morally grey mind control interrogation to extract information from a galra.
instead, he sees how honestly hurt and confused keith looks, so he gives him some space and tries to quickly remove him from the situation
and when keith insists on staying? shiro’s worried look in the background there? even if he doesn’t understand what’s been going on with keith all this time, he’s clearly concerned, clearly cares. he backs off a bit and let’s keith say his piece, because he realizes just how much all this means to him. shiro doesn’t interfere again until after he hears keith’s life will be on the line, and immediately tries to get him out of there
he goes right up to keith’s side when he tries to reason with him, and we get a repeat of that shoulder touch thing these two do so much. shiro especially does this to keith a lot, and it honestly seems like a kind of grounding thing. he reaches out to keith, tries to tell him that whatever’s going on his life isn’t worth it, holds onto him to offer some kind of comfort. the way shiro tries to convince him here reminds me a lot of that thing joaquim said in an interview, about how “shiro is sort of the only thing that can really calm him down and keep him in check.” shiro very much tries to do that here, sees that keith is angry and upset and tries to keep him from making a reckless decision.
was shiro really taken aback and hurt initially? i think so, yes. but once he kinda has a bit of time to recover and think things through he’s still thinking of keith and trying to help him as best he can–this is also why he doesn’t try to stop him again until it’s absolutely necessary, because he respects keith’s volition and understands the importance of that autonomy. when push comes to shove, regardless of the situation, shiro still steps up to protect keith

The student lounge was, as always, fairly crowded. Students were lounging around the room, chatting, staying away from the outside or finishing any last minute homework. It was also an area where the primarily “popular” people tended to spend their lunch times, as they were “too cool” for the library. Quiet chatter was all that you could hear as you attempted to concentrate on your English homework, answering a ridiculous essay question for Wuthering Heights. You were sat with Betty and Kevin, working on some homework as Ronnie sat close to Chuck Clayton, undoubtedly chatting him up with her implausible Veronica Lodge charm as she sipped on coffee.
Then there was Jughead Jones, in all of blue-green eyed magnificence. Jughead was tall and lanky, with pale, creamy skin and his signature frown on his face. A bag was draped over one of his shoulders, a raven black jacket covering his maroon hoodie. He seemed to always bury himself behind clothing in dark shades, but you liked the way that it made his eyes stand out so much. His back was sloping alongside the wall next to the vending machine; people watching. Jughead’s trademark crown-shaped beanie was placed atop of his head of ebony hair, and the sight alone made me bite back a grin. Noticing your gaze, Jughead looked in your direction before sending you a quick and discrete wink. You winked in return before glimpsing over at Veronica to explain why your head was turned.
Jughead had been one of your best friends since before you could recall. It was virtually like Betty and Archie; you and Jughead been intimate friends since the single digit days. Any vital childhood memory you could think of had Jughead present; just the way you wanted it. Initially, you had presumed that Jughead had fervent, platonic feelings for you. At some point in the summer of Jason Blossom’s death, you were proven wide of the mark, when Jughead unpredictably declared his love for you. Fortunately, there was something inside of you that was sure you felt the same way.
On July 4th, Jason Blossom had gone missing and was presumed to be dead after his twin sister, Cheryl, emerged after their boat capsized. It was a scandal that had taken over the entire town of Riverdale, so you and Jughead had agreed to keep your relationship away from your friends until the right time to tell them came around. You were less than persuaded that Jughead would be able to keep this secret, but after his fall out with Archie over the summer, he didn’t have many people to tell. Usually, Jughead and Archie told each other everything, but it seemed that the both of them had been keeping secrets.
Four long years, but here I am writing yet again another confession about you. It’s still you anyway. Whenever I hear a song or gone to places that we just used to tell each other, it brings back all the memories of you. Everything feels like yesterday.
I almost died when you left. The pain still lingers on and everyday I would wake up praying to God to help me recover. And it helps because there are times when I don’t think of you anymore. But you know it’s never a one-night process, up to this day I’m still picking up the pieces of myself that was shattered when you walked away.
The saddest part of it all, no one ever knew how I feel. They thought I moved on easily when in reality I still cry myself at night. It’s hard whenever they joke around me about what happened to us and I just shrugged it off like I don’ care, but the truth is, it still breaks my heart.
I have proven it myself that time doesn’t really heal all wounds, it would always be a choice. No matter how long the process will be, I surrender it everything to God.
I know you have someone else right now and even if it hurts (without any bitterness) I’m at peace knowing you’ve found a reason to be happy because you deserve it.
Thank you @joeynihil for letting me use the Cody gif :D

“Brett’s coming?” You asked when your friend finished
listing off the people she’d invited.
“It’s a party to celebrate the team winning all their games
so far… why wouldn’t I invite Brett?” She asked, glancing at you in the mirror
as she put her makeup on, frowning when she looked over the jeans and t-shirt
you were wearing.
“Well… because he’s kind of a jerk.” You mumbled, playing
with your fingers as you scuffed your feet on the foot of her bed.

Character relationships are important to
add dimension to the characters and can help make them and the plot more
realistic. This isn’t just for romantic relationships because building the
characters’ platonic and familial relationships are important as well. So here
are a few tips on creating believable and endearing relationships your readers
rush into it. This goes for platonic relationships
as well as romantic ones. A big cliché complaint with romance stories is that
the two characters tend to meet and fall head over heels in love with each
other after two conversations or one loving glance across the room (sorry Romeo
and Juliet). While romantic connections can begin on the first date, the
characters probably shouldn’t be professing undying love and devotion to each
other an hour after meeting. The problem isn’t so much the length of time that
they’ve known each other as it is how well they know each other, which is why
character friendships need time too. If your characters spend two full days
together where they really get to know each other deeply and we can see the
progression from strangers to people who understand
each other, great. If their relationship spans a year but all they do is check
each other out then you have a problem. Make them know each other and interact
in meaningful ways to create the relationship and show how it came to be.
their history. Not every relationship your
characters have is going to be created in the span of time in which the story
takes place. Your character might have a best friend they’ve known for ten
years or three older siblings. Just because these predate the beginning of the
story doesn’t mean you don’t have to show what kind of relationship they have. You
can say that so-and-so is the best friend but you have to make us believe it. Are
they the kind of friends that tell each other everything, like even what they probably shouldn’t? Or are they
more the kind that have fun and leave the drama when they go out? Show what
kind of relationship the characters have rather than just telling.
the reader a sense of why the relationship fits. In
some stories you read about the guy and the girl who are just so cute together
and they’re falling in love but…why? Why does this pairing work? Having things in common is important,
particularly in things that are important to the character, like values. But
they can and should also have differences, some of which serve to make the
other better. Together they should push each other and support each other. If
you make them connect in this way it makes the connection much stronger to the
reader and that makes them want to cheer them on more. If it’s all about the smooching
it can get rather boring quite quickly.
them complete without the other(s). I know I just
said that making the characters push each other is a good thing, but they still
need to be complete characters on their own. If the only real thing you can say
about the character is that they are X’s soulmate or best friend, then they’re
not a character. It’s more interesting to see how people interact with each other than
Love Interests™ following each other around.
