You shoved your head further
back into soft plush pillows beneath you and grumbled. Even through your eyes were
shut the light was too brilliant in this room and someone somewhere was playing
heavy metal at what felt like fucking dawn to you. Hissing, you jerked the
covers over your hammering head, hoping the darkness would act as barrier against
everything that was disturbing you. Unfortunately that didn’t work and you
didn’t want to particularly move any of your dead muscles - maybe if you yelled
something the owner of that horrendous music would at least turn it off.
requested: can you write something based on Shawn’s song patience?
pairing: reader x Shawn Mendes
word count: 2,095
a/n: patience is my favorite song by Shawn, thank you so much for requesting this, I teared up while writing it! Of course it’s based off of patience, but I found another great song to listen to while reading this is Waves by Dean Lewis. tell me what y’all think!
Ten years ago, it began. Post-war. First, the screening programme, the DNA checks, then the register, the emergency measures. And soon everyone calls us creatures. Filthy creatures. Every voice. The TV. The computer. Say we have… we have sickness in us. We have weakness. It’s in our blood. They say that our blood cannot go on. That we cannot go on.
So I was at a grocery store the other day (actually it was the exact location I worked at for a year before getting a job in my career) and it was super busy. I was in the express lane and minding my own business when I feel a tap on my shoulder and a rude tone tell me “actually ma'am you cut me. I’m with the couple in front of you”. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I let this lady join her friends but I look over and all of their stuff combined is way over the express lane amount. It looks like a full load of groceries. I’m so mad for so many reasons. For one thing, how big of a deal is it if I got in the line before you did why the heck did you have to be rude about it like I made it a personal vendetta to separate you and your friends when it’s a freaking grocery line???? Also, I hate that this was at the location I used to work because I know that the cashiers in express don’t get baggers and when you go into the line with more than 15 items it slows them down and if they aren’t fast enough it effects their overall performance score and then hurts their pay. My point is, don’t cut me in line because I got there before you did and you’re so impatient on the busiest shopping day for the store that you have to be rude to people, and don’t go into express if you have more items than express allows. You think you’re cheating the system? You’re just being an asshole.
•Alfor, Coran, Haggar n Zarkon built a theatre when they were younger. Alfor is the director, Zarkon n Haggar were the main actors n singers, soon joined the McLain n Holt families.
There they present any king of art but mainly opera.
•Keith’s mom was a famous opera singer, he married 2 times Takashi Shirogane being the son of her first husband Ulaz n Keith Kogane of her second husband Thace.
Keith’s mom died from a weird illness when he was a child practically raised by Shiro since Thace was a soldier and was barely even home thus making both have a bad relation. Thace tries his best tho. Keith’s just being emo.
•Shiro spent most of his time with Keith and his mom before entering the military, after a year he lost a limb in a mission and had to look for other job, he met Allura n started working at her father’s theatre.

(Lance plays as the son of the important family n Keith the other guy).

“I fucked up, now he’ll most probably hate me”
“Dear, Keith’s been dying for you for a while now”
“WHAT? he likes me? Why didn’t you tell me before ma? ”
“I’m not someone to talk bout his feelings for or to someone”
“You just did that ma”
“Yeah, but at this point you’re the only one who didn’t know”
“How could I be the only one who didn’t know?”
“You’re that oblivious, anyway dear, go ask him on a date or something, stop wasting time”
Lance dis as his mom said.
•outside of the theatre in a really windy day

Henry sneaks a glance around as he hurries up the stairs desperate for a moment alone. It’s Father’s Day and they’re having a big family barbecue. It’s fun and it’s amazing to have a family day without curses or bickering…but he can’t help but feel the weight of loss.
So he slips away just so he can have a moment to remember.
He’s halfway up the stairs when he hears it, a sniff followed by a muffled whimper. he frowns following the sound to his mom’s room. Henry pushes the door open cautiously and notices her sitting on her bed, crying as quietly as she can. When he enters her head snaps up and she hurriedly wipes away the tears.
“Henry,” she says, her voice hoarse, “I thought you were downstairs.”
“I was,” he replies moving to sit beside her, “But I…” he sighs, “I miss my Dad…is that why you’re up here?”
Regina nods as she wraps an arm around his shoulders, “Yes…it was my own fault…but…I…on days like today I miss him even more.”
“I barely got a chance to know my Dad and by the time I remembered him, he was already gone. Ma tells me stuff but…”
“It’s not the same.”
He nods wiping away a tear as he slips an arm around her shoulders and rests his head against hers, “Can i sit up hear for a bit?”
She nods and they sit in silence for a few more minutes before the door opens once more. It’s Emma, and she she smiles sadly when she spots the two of them crying silently. “Make room,” she announces coming to sit between them, the pair of them separating so that she can hug them both.
“You should be downstairs,” Regina tells her.
Emma shrugs, “I noticed you were both missing…I think I know why.”
Henry sighs, “We miss our Dads…it’s Father’s Day and they’re not here.”
Emma nods, “Not physically,” she replies, “But they’re always in your hearts, they loved you and you still love them so let’s remember them too. Tell me a memory…a good one.”
Henry frowns as he tries to think of one, he has far too few but finally a day comes into focus, “When he first came to town, we went down to the docks and played swordfighting. It was only with these stupid little toy swords but it was fun. We laughed and he let me win, told me I was the hero of the day and the hero of the day always gets ice-cream. That was a good day.”
Emma smiles sadly, “I’m sure he wished he could have had more. He loved you kid even if he didn’t get enough time, he loved you.”
Henry nods, “I know….Mom have you got a good memory to tell?”
Regina smiles, wiping the tear from her cheek, “We didn’t have Father’s Day in my land but I knew when his birthday was. My mother made sure there was a ball with extravagant gifts and dancing but I wanted to do something. I was four so it was the first time I was really aware of it being his birthday so I skipped my lessons and drew him a picture. Mother was furious and banned me from the ball. I was scared and upset but then my father found me. He told me it was the best picture he’d ever had. He hugged me and thanked me for making it his best birthday ever.”
Emma smiles kissing the side of her girlfriend’s head, “He loved you.”
Regina nods, “He did.”
Emma hugs them both tightly as she says, “Happy Father’s Day to those with us and those who aren’t.”
