teenage girl advice

tips all students need

1. learning is better than knowing. you don’t need to be a genius to do well in school, only dedicated enough to actively pursue your education.

2. straight A’s =/= intelligence. don’t let your grades define you; test grades can’t capture the passion in your eyes and the resilience in your bones.

3.  friendships change, but sometimes that's a good thing. some relationships are bested by time, and people grow apart. in the absence of others, you may find that you’ve been missing out on what’s been right in front of you the entire time.

4. rest is important. your health is always more important than school. while stress is inevitable, never be afraid to take a day off, or talk to a trusted adult. Mental health is just as valid as physical health.

5. your life is just beginning. i know that failing test grade or the fact that your crush rejected you seems like the end of the world, but i promise you that it’s not the end. life is literally the longest thing any of us will experience, so fall in love with living. think of every opportunity as just another beginning.

I’ve played all of these roles and all I know is that driver is not my favorite😂👌

- school is fucking important. pay attention and do the work, it’s so worth it.

- friends come and go, it’s gonna happen. sometimes it’s your fault, and sometimes it’s not. you’ve just gotta understand that everything happens for a reason.

- your parents might be annoying, but they really do have your best interests in mind. you should try listening to them once in awhile, you really might learn something.

- if a boy doesn’t try, he genuinely doesn’t care. wait for the guy who would do anything to be your everything.

- your body is your body. you’re stuck with it, so make the most of it. if you wanna wear makeup, wear makeup. go on youtube and watch tutorials, it’ll get you somewhere. if you don’t wanna wear makeup, don’t fucking wear makeup. you look great either way.

- you’re gonna get your heart broken. a lot. by friends, family, and boys. every heart break is a lesson.

- when one door closes, another one opens. i promise.

-  if you want a change, you have to be the change

- live your life for yourself..because it’s yours. focus on what makes you happy at the end of the day, because that’s whats most important. that you are happy.

—  things i wish i realized before i turned 20
things that actually happened in my high school

1. in the middle of am homeroom (so like 9am in the morning) a kid just broke out a pint of ice cream and started eating it. and i guess it wouldnt have been that bad except once people noticed, everyone started whispering and pointing until half the class was surrounding the table literally BEGGING for some. the teacher actually had to stop reading the morning announcements and give a speech on how you shouldn’t give death threats over ice cream.

2. this kid i was sitting next to once went home bc he got a massive headache after staring straight into a lightbulb for 2 minutes bc he “was bored and wanted to see what would happen.” he ended up taking 3 advils after that, got paranoid and made the entire table search “how many pills of advil does it take to overdose” on a school computer.

3.  there was a HUGE ASS fly in the room and the teacher thought itd be a great idea to kill it by throwing a folder 4inches thick with papers in its general direction; it ended up going across the room and hitting a poor, innocent kid in the face so hard that the other kids at the table scrammed and started yelling “EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF”…and when i tell you that this fly was huge,,it was literally so MASSIVE that this one girl almost started crying when it flew near her, someone actually tried throwing a cup of coffee at it, and another person started screaming ZIKA VIRUSSSS and something about how they weren’t vaccinated. and mind you the majority of the students are dressed in fancy attire bc of the national honor society ceremony that was later in the afternoon. in the midst of all this chaos, this one kid stands up, doesnt say anything and literally just ninja slams his bare hand onto the table and kills the fly all in one fluid motion, all without saying a single word. the entire class just broke out in thunderous applause, including the teacher, and then class continued as normal as if the past 10 minutes didn’t even happen

4. during first period a teacher who lost a ton of weight over a 2 year period was giving serious advice about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle while this kid right in front of the teacher’s desk breaks out a FULL mcdonalds breakfast meal and distributes it among the table

5. kids that were in apush and ap spanish held a joint prayer vigil the day before ap exams began, so that ap students could literally hold hands and pray to survive exam season as well as mourn our high grades. everyone who went was required to bring in fake candles and food, while someone else conducted a prayer service. a special invitation was sent using our school emails, you had to rsvp in order to attend, and it was suggested that you wear black. our ap teachers knew about this, and they agreed it was a good idea somehow

1. People will make promises… and break promises. Sometimes it’s best not to hold people to their word.

2. Be glad for your spontaneity. It is what makes you special. There will be times where it is the only thing that’s keeping you alive.

3. It’s okay to cry, and it’s okay to not cry. Do not feel guilty over the lack of tears. Your sadness is your own. You do not owe anyone to see it. Sadness is not a social gesture.

4. Boys will come and boys will go. There will be some that hurt you and there will be some that you will hurt. They will each leave their mark on you. Choose them wisely. You do not want to fix yourself just to be broken down again.

5. Know when to leave something behind. Some things will only end up killing you.

6. Forgive yourself. You have done terrible things, but you have also done wonderful things. You are not who you were 2 years ago. You have grown. Keep the past where it was. It has no right to haunt you any longer.

7. There will always be people more prettier, funnier, smarter, and more talented than you. Befriend them. The only enemy here is yourself.

8. Life is not a competition. Death is not the finish line.

9. Grades are not everything. You are more than numbers.

10. Let go.

11. People are not puzzles to be solved. Some things are better left a mystery.

12. Accept yourself. We are all individuals. We are all the sum of our flaws and our gifts.

13. Love your body. You do not have to look like that girl on the magazine cover.

14. Do not spend your time looking for someone to complete you. You were made complete.

15. Life is worth living. Go search for a waterfall, a forest, and close your eyes. Submerge yourself in the beauty of this earth when you feel like you need to be reminded why you are here.

16. Find a cosy spot in your house, school, favourite coffee shop. Wear a sweater and read a book. Relaxing is just as important as anything else.

17. Breathe. You will be okay.

—  17 things I’m still trying to teach myself at 17

This advice is mostly crush related so if you have a crush and want them to notice you, take a moment and breathe babe your not the only one.✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴
Without further a do, here is how to catch your crushes eye:

󾠮 Be you!! Never change anything about you for a crush. You shouldn’t be trying to change for someone’s love, but the love of someone should changing you. Don’t be fake,

󾠯 Be confident. Confidence is a beautiful color on someone, I look horrible in bright orange but in confidence I look amazing. Be proud of you and don’t be too shy about things.

󾠰 Live a little. In other words be happy and hang out with friends, don’t look sad and gloomy and isolate yourself for a crush. To catch his attention show them you can have fun and you are a good friend.

󾠱 Talk about something you know they like (I don’t judge how you got the information). If they like The 1975 and you do too, bring it up in one of your conversation and hopefully they continues the conversation. If they don’t, ‘accidentally’ throw something at he back of their head and walk away.

󾠲. Stare at them and wait till they turn around when they do smoothly turn your attention somewhere else and then turn back to them and act like they were the one staring. Then smile and turn away.

That’s it guys and remember if he already likes you, you probably have his attention already. This might just be a part one for now.

Thanks and good luck babes!

Temptation will always be present in your relationships. Be strong and daring enough to choose LOVE over LUST. Shut it down before it shuts your relationship down.
