Great album opening track or the greatest album opening track?
“Everybody’s talking ‘bout the stormy weather / And what’s a man do to but work out whether it’s true? / Looking for a man with a focus and a temper / Who can open up a map and see between one and two / Time to get it / Before you let it / Get to you / Here he comes now / Stick to your guns / And let him through / Everybody’s coming from the winter vacation / Taking in the sun in a exaltation to you / You come running in on platform shoes / With Marshall stacks / To at least just give us a clue / Ah, here it comes / I know it’s someone I knew / Teenage riot in a public station / Gonna fight and tear it up in a hypernation for you”

I like other music, but this is the music I wanted to listen to tonight. This is the music I’m vibing to right now. These are sad songs. Unlike Sir Elton, I’m not sure that says much. I like sad songs. They make me happy.
@raginrayguns asked me to pick three songs and write a sentence describing what I like about each of them. I’m not sure I know what I like about them. I’ve picked “Heroin,” “Miss You,” and “The State I Am In,” and I’ll try to work it out.
In “Heroin,” it’s something about the buildup and the imperfect pairing of Lou Reed’s voice and the instrumentation. In “Miss You,” it’s the rhythm, Mick Jagger’s voice, and the bridge, which gives Jagger the brief space to wail. In “The State I Am In,” it’s Stuart Murdoch’s voice, whose imperfections fill the space the spare instrumentation and production leave bare.
I made a sort of Senior Year/Summer inspired playlist with some groovy jams to get drunk and dance with your friends to!!! Inspired by @notgivinitupagain ‘s playlist.
