Minor Headcanon about how the rest of the Rangers find out of Trini and Kimberly
-Billy is the first to figure it out, he’s seen them sneak kisses between training sessions and detention. He promised to keep their secret and is super happy for them being together.
-Jason kinda thought there might be something but he wasn’t sure until he went to Kim’s house one night to talk to herand found them both topless making out in her bed. Kim started making sure to lock the window when Trini is over now(after trini comes in that is) so it doesn’t happen again.
-Alpha and Zordon are both surprised when they saw the morphing grid acting up and showing Trini and Kimberly doing things. The first time they were worried about Kimberly trying to hurt Trini and the second time they had to remind them that morphing and the zords are only for training and battles.
-Zack somehow is oblivious to all of this. Like Jason, he has caught them together not fully dressed but assumed they were just helping pick out clothes for the other. He referees to them as close friends when he sees them holding hands in public and whispering in each others ear and even sitting on each others lap.
-Zack has also tried to set Trini up with different girls because he wants her to have a girlfriend. And when Trini mentions she has a girlfriend, Kimberly he says that he means someone she can fuck.
-Zack finally realize that they are dating after Alpha reminds them for the 5th time that morphing is only for training and fighting and not for personally pleasure especially not in that sense. (Tagging @daddyleksas because of the whole morph orgasm that they posted that made me think of that)
-Zack trying to act like he knew all along and was just trying to keep it a secret because he didn’t wanna out them (but secretly being pissed that Trini didn’t tell him (which she reminds him that she did he just didn’t listen))
-Tommy takes one look at them after she joins the team and just knows right away they are a couple and if you mess with one the other will end you.

Zack sat in a desk near the back of the class for detention. His desk usually faced the back wall, but Zack usually sat on the chair backwards and observed the class or randomly tapping along to whatever song he was listening to. He noticed that his friends generally actually got some work done during this time. He watched Kimberly pull out her Biology textbook while Billy pulled out some maps and colored pencils. Jason was furrowing his eyebrows at a math textbook, and Trini was reading a book that was assigned in English.
Zack sighed. He had gotten his work for class done already. His teammates found it surprising that he was still able to be a student at Angel Grove High since he was never in class. In all honesty, he got much of his work from his teachers through emails, so he was able to get some work done. After all, there wasn’t much to do up in the mines. He usually sat inside the abandoned train car and got some work done, just enough to make sure that he would be able to graduate. The school didn’t like it, but Zack thought that as long as he was still passing, it would be alright.
Now that he was back in school with his friends, he actually did quite well in classes. He still spent a lot of time in his hideout, so he got a lot of work done.
Zack was bored out of his mind. Detention wouldn’t be over for another 2 hours or so. He smiled and took out a piece of paper from his bag. The other rangers were still concentrating on their homework, but Zack was sure they would notice what was about to happen. Sure enough, when Zack tossed the folded up paper at Jason, he instinctively reached up and caught it between his fingers.
He looked back at Zack, confused. Zack just smirked and gestured at Jason to open it.
And so it began: The Epic Detention Note String.
Zack: Hey! I’m bored, so we’re gunna play a little game of catch with this slip of paper. Write down a note with your name and pass it on! If you miss a toss, miss a catch, or end up getting caught, you lose! Just keep passing till the paper runs out of space! Doodle if you want!
Jason: I’m busy, so don’t blame me if I miss.
Billy: Sounds fun! Totally gunna sabotage.
Kimberly: Drawing time! Sorry it took me forever.
Zack: HOW DID YOU DO THAT IN LIKE 3 MINUTES! TF!
Trini: My girlfriend’s better than all of you.
Billy: My turn!
Jason: LOL accurate. How are you people drawing these things so fast?!
Billy: I don’t know. How are we passing this paper around at superhuman speeds?
Kimberly: He has a point. (NICE BILLY)
Trini: … Kudos.
Zack: I’m not sure whether to be flattered or insulted.
Kimberly: *doodles Go Go with power rangers lightning in corner*
Trini: FUCK I DROPPED IT.
Jason: And the first person drops out!
Kimberly: She looks so angry LMAO
Zack: BILLY! WHY! I ALMOST DROPPED IT! WHAT DID YOU PUT ON IT?! ITS SO SLIPPERY! PAPER ISN’T SUPPOSED TO BE SLIPPERY!
Billy: LOL. Vaseline.
Jason: Woah. That was really slippery. The paper’s still in pretty good shape though….
Kimberly: LOL. THAT WAS THE WORST TOSS I’VE EVER SEEN. HE ALMOST FELL OUT OF HIS CHAIR! Mr. Bossman is out!
Zack: Agh, too bad. At least he isn’t smearing it anymore, being left handed and all.
Zack: BILLY! STOP! I FUCKING DROPPED IT! DAMN! Welp, Zack-Attack is out!
Kimberly: Did he seriously call himself “Zack-Attack”
Billy: … *doodles bees in the margin of the paper*
Kimberly: We should start a band! *Doodles power ranger lightning bolt with power ranger colors*
Kimberly: I WIN BITCHES! BILLY FAILS AT SUBTLETY! THE TEACHER TOTALLY LOOKED SHOCKED.
Jason: We just passing it around now?
Billy: DANG IT!
Trini: Told you she was better than you guys.
Zack: Yo! Go Hart!
Jason: Guys, team meeting tonight by the campfire. We are discussing this band thing…. I call lead guitarist!
Trini: No fair! We are totally hashing this out tonight.
Zack: Ok ok. I think the writing should stop. We’ll just pass it to everyone to keep everyone updated. If it gets back to me. I’ll put the paper away. We are doing this again!
Trini: I’ll win next time…
Zack smirked down at the page in front of him. His teammates wrote everywhere on the paper, marking where the next line was with arrows and dashed lines. The paper looked like a road map full of words and little drawings. His friends were all looking back and forth from each other, silently chuckling. Zack took out another sheet of paper and wrote all their names down in separate rows. He gave Kim a “point”. Oh, I am totally crushing them next time. He put away the paper they wrote on for safe-keeping. He wanted to remember these moments.
The detention bell rang, and all the students began gathering their things. The rangers burst out laughing and immediately gathered. Zack displayed the scoreboard he made and they all laughed and commented on different types of games they could play.
They exited the building, and Zack thought to himself as the sunlight beat down on them. He was glad he met them. They were good for him.
u know those moments where kimberly like, genuinely forgets there are other ppl on the team besides trini
like when they’re on the mountain and she runs up to trini and says “talk to ME” as if trini should just ignore all the boys
or when zack crashes his zord into the pit and they all wipe out, but kim just jolts upwards and immediately asks trini if she’s alright, as if billy and jason aren’t on the other side of the room choking on dust
trimberly dating in secret and the team finding out?
This became a oneshot length fic, I’m not sorry. I got lazy proofing so sorry for any mistakes.
It started out small, they would show up at each other windows late at night, after long, gruelling days of training, after tough battles, or even bad days at school, they would check in on each other, they would talk for hours, they were just there for each other, it became there thing, and as each other’s feelings for the other grew, every night was more tension filled then the last, so when they eventually kissed, they didn’t think much of it, so every night after that, there would be a lot less talking, and much more of something else, which neither of them minded.
The team also noticed a shift in their dynamic, they began to act different, Kim and Trini had always worked well as a team, they were the two arms of the megazord after all, but after the late nights spent doing a lot more than talking, the tension in the air around them was so thick, you could probably cut it with knife. Trini and Kim’s sparring sessions would get much more intense, their gazes only on each other, their eyes were filled with intense passion, rather than the usual playful, teasing banter. Jason usually had to force his gaze away, or he would most likely get much more than a fiery glare from Trini. The team noticed the changes, but they didn’t push or press, knowing that both the girls could kick their asses without a second glance, so they just let it be, but they noticed.
Zack being the closest to Trini, the two wild cards, the bees, black and yellow, which the team teasingly sang whenever they sparred or did anything as a duo, Zack and Trini both had an equal distaste for the names, but they knew it was just friendly teasing, it was part of the team dynamic, so it didn’t surprise Trini when he was the first to try and figure out what was going on with the girls. He dropped little hints and questions about Kimberly, vaguely asked about girlfriends, but each of his attempts failed, always met with a “I only want to spend time with you, bee” or “yeah, sure, me and Kimberly”. He backed down, but Zack knew something was up, he was the captain of the ship after all, he was determined to know if it was canon.
The girls knew the boys were catching on, the boys didn’t know exactly what was happening, but they did know something was different. They still hadn’t discussed when or if they were going to tell the boys. They loved the late nights, the secret glances, holding hands secretly when they could, they enjoyed just being, no ones expectations or worries clouding there mind, they were just them. So they kept it that way.
After a couple of months of them sneaking into each other’s rooms, kissing, talking, among other…activities, they knew they should tell the boys, whom were very clueless about what was happening, each of them asking non to subtle questions, desperately trying to figure out what had changed between the girls, but to no prevail. So the next day, at four o clock, the made there way down to the pit, arms intertwined, Trini’s small frame leaning against Kimberly, and for the first time ever, they were acting blatantly like a couple, in public, and they’d both be lying if they said it didn’t cause warmth to radiate through their bodies.
The boys were already down at the pit, the sound of pads being hit, gasps and grunts, a piece of rock dislodging from the structure “Zack” they both muttered. Trini could feel butterflies in her stomach, she was defiantly nervous, they both were, but these were their friends, their brothers, they knew they’d be accepted and safe, but that didn’t make it any less nerve wracking. They had agreed to be very subtle with there “coming out” it wouldn’t be the power rangers without a little teasing and fun.
As they walk down to the pit, their hands and fingers intertwined, no space between their bodies, the boys noticed, but they didn’t really bat an eye, the girls had been slowly becoming, much, much, closer, not just emotionally, but physically. So they returned to sparring, back to their norm, but the girls did notice Zack narrowing his eyes, a small smirk plastered on his face. They began to spar, circling around the other, jabs and hooks were thrown, roundhouse kicks, take downs, with each move, the girls gazes grew more intense and heated. As the girls circled around each other, the boys started paying more attention, getting curious again, which the girls noticed. Kimberly glanced quickly over her shoulder at the boys, while throwing a sloppy jab, which Trini caught, flipping her over, Kimberly falling to the ground with a loud thud, her breathing ragged and sharp. Trini offers her hand to help Kimberly up, while the boys are still watching, forgetting about sparring. Kimberly takes the opportunity and yanks Trini’s hand and smashes their lips together, carefully grabbing Trini’s small frame and bringing her to the ground, and flipping them around so Kimberly is on top, pulling their lips apart. The girls both gasp for air, while the boys looked like they’d seen a ghost, mouths agape. Kimberly helps Trini to her feet as Zack yells gleefully, “I KNEW IT!!!” Trini smirks, while Jason and Billy are still stumbling for words. The girls chuckle before returning to sparring, and moments later, Billy and Jason both exclaim. “WHAT!!!” Alpha finally speaks, “Humans confuse me.” leaving the power rangers giggling as they returned back to sparring, Trini and Kimberly both joyful beyond words, as they got back into a rhythm, the world fading away.
