“let’s keep this between the two of us.” Azriel and Feyre?
“Let’s keep this between the two of us, okay?” Feyre mutters to Az as he slips, unobtrusively into her bedchamber and she jumps to her feet, hurrying to meet him.
The shadowsinger just nods, ever dutiful to his High Lady’s every wish.
“No-one saw you come up here, did they?” she can’t help herself asking anxiously, glancing over his shoulder as though expecting Rhys to burst through the door at any moment and catch them together.
Azriel just gives her a flat look that implies he’s insulted she would even ask such a thing of him. Perks of being a super spy, she supposes.
“Alright, I’m ready,” she says, holding out a hand in invitation. Azriel grips it tightly and they winnow into shadow and darkness. They emerge moments later onto the pleasantly warm Velaris streets, pleasantly bustling but not overly crowded, something neither of them would have appreciated.
They set off together, Azriel quietly leading the way while Feyre follows, smiling and nodding at some of the people they pass who wave greetings to her. “Thanks so much for this, Az,” she puffs out, checking her bag to ensure she brought her purse with her. She doesn’t usually, typically relying on the convenient credit she has in most stores, but she doesn’t want Rhys to have any inclination of her purchase today. “You’re a lifesaver.”
“It’s no trouble,” he says, leading them down into a quiet, shaded street and walking to the very end, a small store tucked into the corner. “I live to serve at the High Lady’s pleasure.” She squints up at him, one eyebrow raised, and he smirks. “And entertaining as his last birthday was, I understand it’s not an experience you want to repeat.”
“No,” Feyre groans, burying her face in a hand at the shame of it. She has many talents and she loves her mate dearly, as Azriel knows, but gift buying has never been her strong-suit. And the bastard has a habit of finding exactly what she wants every single year without fail. Just once she wants to get him something absolutely perfect. Fortunately, she has a secret weapon in the form of Azriel.
“Really though,” she grumbles, pushing into the shop after him, “Who’s allergic to strawberries?”
“Rhys,” Azriel hums simply in that way that implies he knows everything in the world and that nothing could ever surprise him.
Well, he had been surprised last year when Rhys had taken a large bite from one of the chocolates she had delightedly given him and then promptly started choking. The shadowsinger hadn’t been expecting that. Unfortunately neither had she.
“And Keir,” he adds as an apparently innocent afterthought.
Feyre blinks, startled, looking round at him. She supposes it’s not too odd, Keir and Rhys are related, even distantly. Still, “I suspect that comes from the list you have tucked away somewhere that details every known method of killing that bastard; not a concern for the steward’s meal choices?” She muses lightly. That tugs a small, dark smirk out of Az.
Azriel leads her to the back of the shop then stops in front of one of the small, dusty glass-fronted cabinets to let her see what he’s picked out for her. She opens her mouth to point out that the display is stuffed full of items, she isn’t sure which one he means, but she stops when she sees it, her face lighting up in a smile. Hugging a rather startled Az she whispers, “It’s perfect.” And is relieved when he accepts the hug, smiling, patting her rather awkwardly on the shoulder to convey his acceptance of her gratitude.
Once Feyre has made her purchase and had it carefully wrapped up by the owner, who seems friendly with Azriel, well, as friendly as anyone can be with him, the two wander back out onto the streets of Velaris. Feyre insists on dragging him into a nearby shop and pressing a large amount of fine differently coloured balls of wool into Az’s protesting hands and then further insists on taking him for a quiet cup of tea.
She rarely spends time alone with the shadowsinger, he always seems to be out somewhere on some secret mission sometimes she doubts even Rhys knows about. That or closeted up in his room with Mor, enjoying the time he has with her. Usually she only has conversations with him like this when they all go to Rita’s and neither of them feel much like dancing for an hour or so.
It’s nice, though. Azriel has a quiet, oddly calming presence, even with the shadows darting around him, whispering, always whispering. There’s a comfort to being around him, a sense of safety, and an odd feeling that she could tell him anything and he would simply nod and understand. As a result, Az is the one she’s gone to more times than she can count when she’s had a difficult decision about the court to make that she doesn’t want to put on her mate. He inevitably listens to all she has to say and offers a few quiet insights that help her make up her mind. She values his opinion, and his friendship, more highly than she thinks he’ll ever know.
Not longer after they’ve sat down in a comfortable booth by the window, they’re both brought two teas and slices of cake that she hadn’t ordered, but that she suspects Azriel did, given that they’re both topped with liberal amounts of strawberries and that their arrival prompts a rare, mischievous smile to blossom across his lips.
Feyre nibbles at her cake then decides now is as good a time as any to bring up what she wants to, as well as have her revenge for this little dig about the strawberries. Looking slyly at Az over the rim of her cup she says innocently, “I’m sorry to take you away from Mor, I know you just got back, you must have been wanting to spend some time with her.”
Azriel just blinks at her, saying nothing, as he drops a lump of sugar into his tea. Then another. Then another. She’s discovered, from these little retreats they make to this place from time to time when they both need a little peace and quiet, that he takes an inordinate amount of sugar in his tea. He had confessed to her once, with a small smile, that it was his one and only weakness.
Finally, carefully, too carefully, Azriel says, “I’ll have plenty of time to brief Mor, later.” Yes, brief her, amongst other things.
“Mm,” Feyre muses, taking a small sip of tea, “Wouldn’t you rather have spent the morning with her than me?”
Azriel blinks, apparently genuinely bemused by this comment, “You’re my friend, Feyre,” he says quietly, sincerely, “I like spending time with both of you.” Damn. She really should leave the subtlety and intrigue up to Az as well as the gift choosing. And he’s too earnest and good-natured, there’s no fun in teasing him at all.
“Azriel,” she says quietly, a soft smile tugging at her lips, “I know.” He blinks owlishly up at her again, clearly implying you know what? And she just scowls at him because if she doesn’t get to tease him then she’s not playing games with him either.
A deep flush of colour burns into Az’s cheeks as he stares at her, “How?” he rasps eventually and she smirks smugly at him.
“You’re not the only one who can know other people’s secrets, Az,” she says with a grin, taking another pointed bite of the strawberry cake, which really isn’t half bad. She might have to bring Rhys here at some point, then she might have half a chance of finishing a dessert on her own without the High Lord’s spoon magically making its way over to her plate while he twitters about ‘mating bond equality’ and ‘what’s yours is mine, Feyre darling’.
Azriel’s face darkens at that and a low, protective growl rumbles in his chest, “Who told you?” he demands, hands curling into fists.
She starts in surprise at the sudden black venom in his voice and opens her mouth to say something when Azriel freezes, apparently realising how he’d reacted. The blush on his cheeks darkens and his wings twitch, clearly uncomfortable. “I’m sorry,” he murmurs quietly, and she has her suspicions that he and Mor haven’t been together for long confirmed, based on his response.
“It’s alright, I understand,” she says quietly, and she does. That need to protect, to keep her safe must be heightened for the two of them after the amount of time they spent apart. She smiles, “And no-one told me, Az,” she huffs, a faint hint of playful scolding in her tone, “I can find some things out without the help of you and your spies, you know, I’m not blind.”
“Says the woman who didn’t notice for nearly fifty years that her mate is allergic to strawberries,” Az mumbles into his tea, but she notes the playful spark in his eyes and resists the urge to kick him under the table with difficulty.
Instead she reaches over and takes his hand, “I’m happy for you, Azriel. For both of you. You deserve this,” she gives his hand a soft squeeze and finally manages to coax a faint smile from him. “But why-”
“Didn’t we tell anyone?” Azriel supplies for her. She supposes he has to find some way to claw back his composure, the best way he knows how, making sure he knows everything she does. Mostly. She nods. He shifts uncomfortably, wings rustling in agitation at his back as he shrugs. “We would have, when we were ready,” he says quietly. “We’re just…Not.” She’s never seen him so discomposed before, he’s usually the picture of articulate eloquence. But Mor…She does this to him. “Not yet, Feyre, please-”
She gives his hand another quick squeeze, smiling, “I won’t breathe a word of it to anyone, Az, I promise.” He smiles, nodding his head, and thanks her.
They finish their tea and cake and then Feyre winnows him to Mor’s townhouse before returning herself to the House of Wind to finish up her preparations for Rhys’ birthday.
The next day, her mate is delighted by the delicate ornament of crystal Illyrian wings she gives him, after having spent all of the day before painting them, accenting the details until they’re a near perfect replica of her mate’s own.
Feyre notes the way Azriel’s scarred, gentle hand slides around Mor’s waist, squeezing, drawing her in close, just for a moment while no-one else is watching….But misses the way Rhys raises his glass of wine in Azriel’s direction while she’s chatting to Mor, thanking his brother for picking out the gift. Az nods and smiles. The two of them are content to keep this particular secret between themselves for the rest of their long eternities.

In honor of Atem, I wrote a little story about Yugi and his friends celebrating the Pharaoh’s birthday!
(Note: Dub names used)
It was a warm, summer afternoon, sometime after their trip to Egypt. Yugi and his friends had gotten together for a very important event. It was Atem’s birthday. It was one of the few things Yugi got to ask about the Pharaoh’s past before his spirit moved on. He said it was the 19th of the third month of Harvesting season (Shemu). After some research, and talking to the Ishtars, Yugi found out it was on July 26. Atem might not have been around anymore, but everyone wanted to celebrate anyway.
Yugi, Joey, Tea, Tristan, Duke, Bakura, even Joey’s sister Serenity and Mai had gathered at Domino Park for this. Not a cloud in the sky, and a gentle breeze blowing. It was perfect. They sat a picnic table, happy to have some peace and quiet for once. Until someone opened his big mouth.
“Feels kinda weird, throwing a party when da birthday boy isn’t here,” Joey said in a slightly sarcastic tone.
“Joey!” Tea shouted, as she often did whenever he said something insensitive. But he wasn’t completely wrong. Everyone was happy to do this, but at the same time, a bit saddened. Atem had touched each of their lives, and they all missed him.
“Uh, Tea,” Bakura spoke, trying to changed the mood. “Didn’t you say you brought a cake?”
“I did,” she said, in a more cheerful voice. Tea opened a box, inside was a medium-sized, round cake with white frosting and a Millennium Puzzle design on it.
“You made this?” Duke asked. He was quite impressed. Joey and Tristan’s mouths were already watering.
“Well, Yugi helped decorate,” Tea confessed. The Puzzle was his idea. “It looks delicious,” Mai responded.
“What kind is it?” Joey demanded. “Chocolate? Buttercream? Strawberry?”
“Actually, it’s confetti,” Yugi answered. “It’s Atem’s favorite.” Everyone chuckled a bit, knowing such a serious guy loved such a childish flavor. But then again, they all did.
Yugi put a single candle on top of the cake and lit it. “What’s that for?” Tristan said quite puzzled. “It’s not like…” He didn’t finish. The mood became down again.
“I was thinking… We each take turns saying things we’re grateful for, about the Pharaoh, and then we all blow out the candle together,” Yugi sheepishly replied. They all smiled. It was a bit cheesy, but it sounded fun. There was a lot they wanted to say to him before he left.
“I’ll go first,” Tea started. “Atem, it was pretty startling to find out there were two Yugis, but I’m glad we met. You were always so brave and confident. And stubborn. But you would do everything you could to protect us. Thank you.”
“I’ll never forget what I learned from ya,” Joey continued. “You taught me what it was to be a true Duelist. To never give up. And I’m gonna get even stronger.”
“Our lives may not have been easy since you showed up, but they were full of adventures,” Tristan added. “I’ll never forget any of them.”
Bakura was next. “Even though I caused a lot of trouble for you and everyone, you still called me your friend. I’m very grateful for that.”
“I’m a bit disappointed we never had our rematch, but you were always a good friend, Pharaoh,” said Mai. “Even when I wasn’t.”
“I still feel bad that I accused you of being a cheater when we first met. I’m really glad we became friends.”
“I didn’t really get a chance to know you, but you always helped my brother, and I’m very thankful for that,” Serenity joined in.
All that was left was Yugi. He took a deep breath. “Atem… I don’t even know where to start. Ever since I solved the Millennium Puzzle, I never felt alone. Even before I knew about you. You taught to believe in myself, and to have courage. I never thought I could be that way. I always wanted to be strong like you, but you told me I have my own kind of strength.
“You always told me I made my wish come true by myself. Even so, the Millennium Puzzle did grant my wish.” They all looked at Yugi. “I wished for friends with bonds strong enough to link our hearts together. And the Puzzle gave me you.” Yugi began to tear up. “You always looked out for me and kept me safe. You were someone I could look up to. I… I never could have gotten this far without you. Atem, you’re the greatest friend I’ve ever had. And I’ll never forget you. Never.”
Tea put her arms around Yugi. He dried his eyes. The two stared at each other for a bit until Yugi managed to compose himself. “Everyone ready?” he asked. They all nodded their heads. They all took deep breaths, and blew out the candle, hoping their words would reach their friend in the other world.
Almost immediately, Joey grabbed the knife and started cutting the cake. “Dibs on a big piece!” The others tried to stop him, arguing not to eat the whole thing. Yugi just watched, smiling at his friends’ antics. He turned his head towards the sky, watching the last of the smoke disappear.
“Happy Birthday Atem.”
————— In a land unaffected by time, in a palace in the desert, a young king stood outside on the balcony. Voices he knew began to resonate in his heart. Their words and feelings swept over him. Atem smiled, knowing he had not vanished from his friends’ memories. That they remembered this day.
A single tear rolled down his face. “Thank you, Yugi. Everyone.”
Confession: Call me boring, but I loved EVERYTHING about Nate and Elena and the epilogue. Seeing someone who grew up with nothing and finally having their own family and are, you know, HAPPY, is my cup of tea.

Scenario: So, MC is an assassin who has been given a new mission which is to assassinate the RFA member (depending on the headcanon). Except, she falls in love. [Note: The RFA members themselves are an Assassin or associated with the assassination business. There roles are a bit of an open interpretation in a way, I suppose. Anyway, enjoy!
Yoosung was the first person you encountered when you joined the RFA in order to eliminate him. As an assassin himself, you found it quite idiotic of him to be so open about himself and be really nice to you. This caused you to think that he was vulnerable and an easy target to eliminate.
You were wrong. His optimistic and joyous personality was what made you weak for him. Before you knew it, you were in love with the odd kindness he possessed for an assassin. This made your mission almost impossible to do. But nonetheless, a job was a job and you HAD to do it. So, you ended up inviting him over to your house for tea, and confessed everything which left him speechless because maybe, just maybe, Yoosung had fallen in love with the cute new member as well. And just as you were about to take out your gun to ‘shoot’ him, you had received a phone call from your boss, who proceeded to yell at you, and threatened to have you assassinated instead, because you had gone after the wrong target.
The after ending was a train wreck filled with emotions.
When you encountered Zen, and you knew that you had to assassinate him, you felt slightly guilty. You almost perceived killing such a beautiful person like Zen a sin. However, when you encountered him, and all he did was boast about his beauty, you felt less guilty about the job you were obligated to do.
Despite his narcissistic tendencies that seemed to get on your nerves, during your stay with the RFA, almost all of your missions were with Zen. This would make it easier for you to eliminate him when it came down to it. However, what you did not notice was that you were slowly beginning to become affectionate towards him. While you worked, Zen always made sure you were okay, and that you were comfortable with that you were given. He looked out for you. Your enemy was treating you better than anyone in your own company. His caring attitude which made you fall for him, led to one thing after another. When it was time to put the bullet through his head, you could not do it. This would not only put your career, but your life as well in danger which made you come clean to Zen.
The albino was extremely shocked. However, due to your actions, he simply accepted you with open arms and as a fellow RFA member, promised to protect you.
As soon as you met Jaehee, you were confused. This was because although she was an extremely uptight person, she was immensely nice. As a new RFA member, she helped you settle in and went through everything with you to make sure that you knew everything about your ‘job’ there. She made you feel extremely secure and comfortable at the enemies headquarter and that really made you wonder: why would your boss want you to assassinate such a nice person?
You were incredibly confused and right off the bat, you knew that you would not be able to harm her much less even lift a finger towards her. You quit the mission before you even began. Actually, you quit your company altogether and instead, you self-employed yourself as her personal bodyguard to protect her. This was because if not you, then someone else would be given the job to harm her, and you were not going to sit by and allow that to happen.
In the end, she ended up protecting you instead of you protecting her.
Your mission was to disguise yourself as an amateur assassin, make your way to the top so you were directly under the command of Jumin Han, and earn his trust in order to kill him off easily. This was not difficult to do since you were a ‘prodigy’ amongst the amateurs he had hired, and due to your talent, you were working right under him in no time. Jumin kept his relationship with you at an extremely professional level so you did not form any attachment with him which would deter your mission of assassinating him.
However, after many unnoticed attempts to assassinate him, and failing, it led you to continue to work for Jumin for awhile. And in that while, you noticed slight changes in his behaviour towards you. Firstly, he was nicer to you than his other coworkers. Then, he seemed to be opening more to you as he would crack horrible silly jokes and give you small smiles.
It was nothing, but for you it meant something and it oddly flustered you. Before you knew it, there was an attempt by your boss to raid his building in order to kill him as you seemed to be taking your sweet time. But that raid was unsuccessful as you ended up assassinating the assassin who was sent to do your job, and you actually protected Jumin.
And before you knew what was happening, you were fired from your company.
But that’s all good because your homie Jumin had you covered.
He knew you only joined the RFA in order to easily assassinate him from the get go. And he still let you join.
Well, that’s because you were his next target to assassinate as well.
It was truly going to be a game of a prey and a predator where both of the participants play both of the roles and there would only be a sole survivor… Right?
Due to this, Seven did not hesitate to get “close” to you for work purposes, and neither did you. The closer the other person thought they were, the easier it was going to be to assassinate them.
Except, that did not happen. In between trying to fool the other by keeping up fake personas, once in awhile your real selves would leak. And when it did, it was something that the other just understood perfectly and in the end, the only people you both were fooling were yourselves.
Love became real, and the reality was overbearing because you both cracked and conveyed the truth about how both of you were to assassinate each other. It was a confession of tears, hurt, and emotions before you decided you would quit your company and join the RFA instead.
Jemma had already searched every inch of her flat, twice, but just in case she’d missed
something, she peered behind her couch once more, calling worriedly, “Queenie?
Where have you gone?”
Frowning in concern, she knelt down to check beneath her
bed, but still didn’t find the little ginger cat her friend Daisy had surprised
her with some months ago. Jemma’s latest relationship had just ended in a
pretty nasty break-up, and Daisy had gotten her a cat in an attempt to cheer
her up – the only problem had been that she’d chosen while Jemma was back home
visiting her parents to pick out a cat from the local shelter. She hadn’t had a
name to call her, so she’d jokingly started using “Queen Elizabeth”, but by the
time Jemma had come home to the surprise, it had already stuck.
Plus, she had to admit, with her cat’s royal attitude and
picky appetite, the royal moniker did seem to fit quite well.
However, in the short time that she’d been Queenie’s owner,
she’d never pulled a stunt like this, seeming to simply disappear into thin
air. It had Jemma increasingly troubled, and when another search of the flat
came up empty, she deduced that she must have somehow slipped out the front
door without her notice.
So, with that in mind, Jemma picked up the bag of Queenie’s
favorite treats and stepped out into the hall, calling sweetly, “Queenie? Here,
kitty kitty!” She shook the bag of treats as she went up and down the halls of
her building, until she’d ended up all the way on the second floor. “Queen
Elizabeth! Come here, kitty! I’ve got treats! Queenie?”
Just as she was about to give up and try the ground floor, a
door to her right abruptly opened, nearly giving her a heart attack. An
attractive man stuck his head out into the hall, glancing around until their
gazes locked. “If you’re looking for the Queen of England, then I’m afraid I
can’t help you. But, if you’re looking for a little orange cat with the
startling ability to make me feel as bad about myself as human women do, then
I…may just have what you’re looking for.”
A wave of pure relief washing over her, Jemma turned fully
to face the man and nodded excitedly as she confirmed, “That’s my cat! You found her?”

Being accepted into the Avengers was something you never thought possible. Yes you had some special abilities, but it was nothing compared to Wanda, Tony, or a certain metallic super soldier that you’ve developed feelings for. Your entire life consisted of being pushed to the side, or told to stay quiet to not seem like a possible threat. This made you into who you are today: A young woman who is still figuring out her powers, but is also stuck seeing herself as an annoyance.
As much as you appreciated everything the group has done and continues to do for you, sometimes it gets too much. You aren’t used to being around so many people all the time, and while you had your own room, that wasn’t enough sometimes. All of the talk about missions and training and whatever they were up to was overwhelming.
Sucy makes a potion that causes the one who consumes it to freely admit their heart's desires. She then slips it into Diana's tea leading to her confessing to a very surprised Akko
(tbh I didnt know really what to do and i really just wanted to write the one scene at the end so hopefully its okay)
“So you sure this will work?” Akko asks. She flips around
the bottle in her hands, studying it carefully.
“Yes, I am sure. Whoever drinks that will spill a secret,”
Sucy replies. She takes back her potion and puts it in her pocket. “I still can’t
believe that you are so riled up over Diana that you want blackmail her. You
can be a devil and I love it when you get like that.”
Akko only grins, thinking of being able to used something against
Diana. Whatever it is, Akko hopes that it will be good. When the two friends
get into dining hall, they spot the Diana all alone. Hannah and Barbra are not
around which is a bit surprising. The two usually hover around Diana all the
time. Guess they had better things to do or Diana chooses to be alone.
Akko and Sucy walk over to the table. Diana puts down the
cup of tea she has been drinking down on a plate. She raises an eyebrow at the
site of the two other girls.
“Hi, Diana,” Akko starts off.
“Hello. What are you doing here? Usually you don’t just walk
up to talk to me” Diana replies.
“I was just wondering about class today, I fell asleep in it
and I know you take good notes. Lotte is around and Sucy only wrote down a bit,”
As Akko lies and distracts Diana, Sucy slips pass them to
pour some of her potion into Diana’s drink. Once enough is in the tea, Sucy
gives the single to Sucy that everything is ready to go. Akko gives a small nod
as Sucy comes up next to her again.
“I think we should get going soon. Amanda wanted to do
something with us soon. You also should drink your tea before it gets cold,”
Diana gives the two of them looks, not knowing what to make
of them. She mumbles to herself about something before taking a sip of her tea.
Akko waits for something to happen. A few moments pass before Diana slaps a
hand over her mouth and snaps to attention. She tries her hardest not to open
her mouth. Akko gets a little closer to Diana. “Anything you want to say?”
Diana tries her best to resist the urge to speak but it doesn’t
work. She suddenly grabs Akko’s arms. “I-I love you, Akko Kagari. As in, love you.”
Once out in the open, a look of shock comes over both Diana’s
and Akko faces. Neither of them can process what has just been said. Akko is so
brought back that Diana’s deepest secret is about her, she faints. In Diana’s
own shock, her grip loosens which allows Akko to hit the floor.
Meanwhile, Sucy just snickers to herself at the sight. Akko
might not be able to use this info as blackmail, but she might be able to. For
now, however, she places a hand on Diana’s shoulder. “That was one hell of a
spill. I know that you are still trying to think this all over but do you mind
helping me bring Akko back to the dorm? Who knows how long she will be out, especially
after hitting the floor like she did.”
