tbilisi&039;s old town

Im Schnoor-Viertel, Bremen, Northern Germany. Schnoor is a neighborhood in Bremen’s medieval center. The alleys between the houses were often associated with occupations or objects. In the old Hanseatic city, the Schnoor was one of the poorer districts. While the rich merchants settled in Obernstraße or Langenstraße, Schnoor developed in the 10th century as a settlement of fishermen. The inhabitants built thatched cottages on the little island between the rivers Weser and Balge and, during its first centuries, it often got flooded. Today the oldest houses date back to the 15th century. Most of them are from the 17th and 18th centuries.
