I do. It's Tang. My parents Americanized their names when they immigrated. Your turn.
(rolls his eyes) I mean, if you want. I respect your privacy blah blah blah.
Trinidad Mercedes Quiñones de Lupo y Kwan. Quiñones is my actual last name. Kwan is my mom's Vietnamese stepdad's last name. But because of Spanish naming conventions, it gets tacked on to mine last, and that's how it is on my school file now.
(grabs Kimberly who's passing through the hall; to Zack) You gonna ask this gringa why she's got a white name?
My last name's Hart because my dad's white. But I'm not a gringa. My mom's Indian.
In my defense, I've only seen her once. Thought she was Italian.
She wears a bindi.
So does Ariana Grande.
(grabs Billy) Hey, bro, we're asking everybody why they have the surnames they do.
Awesome. (grabs Jason) Dude, we're having an awkward conversation about our last names. You white as you sound?
Yes. All my ancestors were Scotsmen who came to Angel Grove during the Gold Rush, and before that they were all probably Pilgrims or something.
REPUTATION SECRET SESSIONS LONDON (OCTOBER 13TH 2017) - Masterpost
There was a lot going on Friday the 13th… Most of us probably missed something. So what I’m trying to do here is gather tweets and Tumblr posts of the lucky ones who got to have that experience. Basically these are just some of the impressions and important information people were able to share with us. If I missed something important, please feel free to point it out and I will update… Also, and I think I speak for everyone, huge thanks to all of you who answered all of our questions and shared anecdotes from this event. We really do appreciate it.
my aesthetic: blissful, warm afternoons where your legacy as a taylor swift fan flourishes. you come across family and friends watching music videos and reaction videos, and your boundless joy thrives, knowing they are taking time out of their day to embrace her artistry.
Once upon a time a 17 year old English girl fell in love with a talented but relatively unknown country singer by the name of Taylor Swift. PLOT TWIST: 11 years later she is one of the most successful artists in history and I just spent my Friday night hanging out with her at her house. Wanna know how this happened? I’m going to tell you my story. Get yourself comfy (maybe some cocoa or a nice sweater) and listen up.
I don’t claim to be the biggest Taylor Swift fan in the world, but like every Swiftie I would always like to think I am. I have loved Taylor for longer than I can remember and one of my biggest dreams in life has always been to meet her.
On 3rd October 2017 I woke up around 5am as I do every morning, and I turned off my alarm and turned my internet on. I had a few notifications, Facebook messenger, twitter, tumblr….but then there was a DM? I never get twitter DM’s, I’m not remotely interesting enough for anyone to want to speak to me, so who was this messaging me?
Half asleep and with my eyes still adjusting to the light I opened the DM screen and saw the words ‘Taylor Nation’. My whole body froze…that’s not what is says is it? I rubbed my eyes and looked again…it was. I clicked on the message and read it quickly. I didn’t really take it in, something about a Confidential Event. I dropped my phone onto my chest and looked at the ceiling trying to take in what I had just read. Was I having another Taylor dream ? Somehow I knew I wasn’t - the last Taylor dream I had we were eating banana splits in an old railway carriage turned into a diner…i don’t even like bananas. Somehow this seemed more plausible.
I closed twitter and decided to ignore it for a second and look at my other notifications. There was a facebook message from my Swiftie friend Bethy telling me to have a good day and reminding me to keep my DMs on….wait, she had one to? I replied back saying 'I have, you too?’ and for a solid hour we were messaging eachother in code without either of us admitting what we had received in text…but we both knew.
I sent my details over to Taylor Nation and tried to get ready for work…putting my jeans on back to front, loading the laundry into the machine without adding the washing liquid, walking around my house doing things which usually came naturally but for some reason took extra effort and concentration…something I was lacking.
It was another 10 hours before my DM was replied to saying they would contact me soon. Soon? How soon is soon? Bethy and I continued talking to eachother imagining what it could be. Would we be in a live stream? A music video? Are we being invited to a show? An interview? In the back of our minds we wanted it to be a secret session but it wouldn’t be would it? People like us with a handful of followers whose idea of a great Friday night is to play Yahtzee while listening to Taylor Swift on repeat wouldn’t get invited, would we?
Luckily soon was only 3 hours and I got a call from a New York number. I was at my parents house so I ran up the stairs to take the call. Some other Swiftie friends in a group chat were messaging me about stuff and I was trying to pick up but notifications were sending my phone into meltdown. Eventually I managed to pick up…then hang up on Taylor Nation. Yes, I hung up on Taylor Swift’s management group!!! (Sorry Ali).
I tried to call back but it went to voice mail, so I sent them a DM and went for a wee. Ali called me again while I was on the toilet so I was nervously trying to finish peeing and then ran out to the top of the stairs to take the call. The signal in my parents house was awful and I kept shouting 'huh’ and 'hello?’ down the phone but Ali was so lovely. She told me I had been picked to be invited to a special event because I was a super fan and I could bring a +1. I knew Bethy was already going and I made a pact with Megan if ever we had an opportunity to meet Taylor we would take eachother. I hastily gave her Megan’s details and then passed Alex’s on to Bethy for her call before screaming at Alex to keep 13th October clear (for the record he is so difficult). On top of this I was also on holiday that day and so going to this event also meant cutting my holiday short…but this was Taylor Swift!
I found out on Sunday 8th October that we had to meet at a hotel and would be shuttled to the location via bus. Unfortunately my bladder condition flared up on 10th October and I nervously contacted Taylor Nation for details of restroom facilities, scared I wouldn’t be able to go. I cried as I waited for an email back but Taylor Nation were so lovely….you could tell they worked for Taylor. I went to the local Dr on holiday and got antibiotics and instructions for bedrest for the 2 days before the event. My bladder was still bad by early morning day of the event but luckily started clearing up as I travelled from Devon to London.
The day of the event we all met up at Waterloo Station in London before travelling to the hotel where we needed to meet Taylor Nation. I was so nervous that everything was going wrong and had been in so much pain and in denial I was going to be well enough to go that I couldn’t believe it was happening.
On the way from the tube to the hotel we saw a funeral directors with 4 gravestones in the window - were they for us when Taylor killed us with her music? A bus went past…the number 13? So typically Taylor!
We arrived at the hotel and checked in. Taylor Nation were in the lobby (we didn’t know it was them). The receptionist asked if we were going to the knitting convention? I was confused…was this a cover story? All I kept thinking was 'I knit sweaters yo’….'no, we are going to meet some friends' we told them.
We went upstairs to our room to get ready and when came down we didn’t know where to go. There seemed to be some type of line forming around the building and the sheer quantity of red lipstick and floaty dresses told me we were in the right place.
We checked in with Taylor Nation and as I gave Elise my ID she said she liked my passport cover. It’s a picture of Taylor with 'grab your passport and my hand’ written on it. She confirmed with me that she was the one I had been emailing and I thanked her for her help. I then signed a NDA and got my really cool wristband which has 'United Kingdom’ in reputation font on it. And then we headed downstairs to wait for the bus.
I was on bus number ¾ with Megan- Alex and Bethy had already gone on bus 2. I sat right behind the driver and he had his Satnav programmed with 3 different routes. He took the first route to somewhere random, loaded the second route and followed it, then loaded the third. It was clear he was trying to throw us off. As we entered part of the neighbourhood I felt very out of place. The cars had personalised plates, the houses were getting bigger, the hustle and bustle of London life seemed to getting further in the distance.
Suddenly the bus stopped in front of a beautiful house…this was it…this was Taylor’s house? We were escorted off the bus and down to the side door which lead to a basement. The carpets were bouncy and the soundproof walls were so soft. We waited patiently for a few minutes and then suddenly the door opened and I caught a glimpse of a canvas of the New York skyline….this IS Taylor’s house.
We were taken up the stairs to a central entrance hall with a staircase leading up to the top of the house and a corridor towards a large group of people with music playing - her Spotify playlist. The party was in the kitchen. Megan and I walked in to the kitchen, everything was so perfect. Ice buckets full of cans of soda and water, the best chicken bites I have ever tasted, cheese, vegetables and dip, reputation m&ms and cookies with REP on. There was so much I couldn’t even see it all.
We spotted our friend Bethy over in the corner by the French doors and headed over to speak to her. As we got there so did Scott Swift….the total legend and biggest fangirl ever. I told him I had briefly seen him in Nashville for 1989 and be told me the Mick Jagger story…the same one Taylor tells in interviews. Word for word and he beamed with pride as he told us stories about Taylor. There I was on a Friday night in Taylor Swift’s house talking to her dad about 2 megastars as if we were all old friends. And he was really interested in us, not just polite conversation but so enthralled that we loved his daughter as much as he did. True to Scott Swift fashion he gave us some guitar picks as me made his way onto the next group.
I asked Alex where the toilet was and he took me out to the corridor…which hid a restroom behind huge grey panels. It was the nicest smelling toilet I have ever been in…and I have been in a lot! As I sat there peeing in Taylor’s toilet and looking at the Jo Malone candle burning by the sink I wondered…how did I get here?
Shortly after I left the toilet we were ushered across the entrance hall to a huge rectangular room. Opposite the door were large windows covered over by drapes and a single armchair - Taylor’s seat. The floor was adorned with cushion after cushion and Megan and I ran to the closest cushion to Taylor. Megan sat right in front of her and I squeezed in behind. This was a SECRET SESSION!!!!
A few minutes later I looked behind as the door opened and in walked a real angel to a round of screams and claps- red lips, natural 'I’ve just washed it’ curly hair, snake boots and a huge smile. She sat down in front of us on the seat and said 'Hi I’m Taylor’. Just like at tour, only this time not to 70,000…to just 100.
And then the mystery was revealed. Taylor Nation hadn’t just randomly picked us off of various social media sites - we had been hand selected by Taylor herself who had stalked us for over a year and sent TN our profiles to invite us. It hit me…Taylor picked me?!?! The woman I have been 'stalking’ for 11 years had been stalking me too? Out of all the fans in Europe I was one she wanted to meet. I don’t think that will ever fully sink in.
Taylor played us her album, telling us little stories about each song - the inspiration, the recording processes, the reactions from friends and family. It was so much to take in but watching Taylor mouth along to the words, act out different expressions and sitting-dance to all of the songs was hilarious - I wasn’t in the presence of a celebrity, I was sitting with my best friend appreciating the biggest achievement she will ever have - true happiness. Taylor Swift is truly happy, about life, about her music, about her fans and it is nothing short of magical.
As each song played I really wondered how Taylor could top it, but she did…over and over again. Time went so quickly and it felt like the world’s biggest and best slumber party, except we didn’t get to sleep over.
At one point it was so hot that Scott Swift had to open all the doors to let the air in. As Taylor played his favourite song from the album she called for him to come and listen and he made a joke that he was actually handing out guitar picks to the neighbours.
After Taylor finished playing the album I looked around. Everyone was so Wonderstruck by what they had heard and I looked at Taylor and she looked so content. I don’t know whether she was worried by what our reactions would be but all we had for this album was love…and I hope Taylor knows that.
After the listening session we were handed copies of the reputation magazines while we were waiting for photos. Megan and I were some of the first to go in. I was so focused on getting to the event that I hadn’t even thought about what to say. Taylor ran over to Megan and hugged her and started talking about her bright pink hair. She loved it and it had been distracting her all evening. Then Taylor hugged me and I hugged her back like I had never hugged anyone before. She was so tall like a giraffe but with the grace of a swan…and I was me. I whispered 'thank you for inviting me’ and she smiled. I didn’t want to let go.
As so many people were waiting they sort of rushed us with a picture. Taylor grabbed hold of us with her arms around our shoulders and smiled so sincerely at the camera. I wanted to talk to Taylor as I didn’t get a chance but we were ushered off. As Megan walked out front if me I went to turn and talk to Taylor when Megan suddenly shouted 'we went to Nashville’. Taylor screamed back excitedly 'I know’ with the biggest smile on her face. So…I didn’t get to talk to Taylor but she knew we went to Nashville. She really did stalk me.
When we left the room we were greeted by Mama Swift. I told her about my mum being terminally ill with Cancer and how she had gotten test results that day but she wanted me to be with Taylor instead. She gave me an extra hug and told me to hug my mum for her. I told my mum later and she started crying. Someone she has never met wished her well…it isn’t just Taylor, it is her whole family.
We were taken back to the basement to collect Merch bags with a T-shirt, hat, sticker, pop socket and exclusive secret sessions keyring. It was so lovely of Taylor to give us something more to remember the day.
I got the bus back to the hotel and sat talking to Ali the whole way about the album and Nashville….I may have also invited her to CMA fest next year.
By the time I got back to the hotel and collected my belongings (which had been taken from us earlier) I was shattered but I couldn’t sleep. I posted on twitter and suddenly my phone couldn’t stop vibrating…thousands of retweets and likes. I sat there trying to figure out what happened but I’m still not even sure I believe it myself.
It took me 2 whole days to cry…not because I didn’t care but because this wasn’t the norm. I had stood outside countless radio stations and events before and not met Taylor…I had cried. I had come away from concerts and not been picked for Loft or Club Red etc and cried…but this was different. Not only had I met Taylor, she had picked me. I couldn’t cry…I just felt a sense of fulfillment, of achievement, of love. By the time I did cry if wasn’t because of what happened; it was because I missed her.
But this is not the end of my story with Taylor…I feel like this is the start of a new chapter. I came away with a whole mind of memories and countless new friends - affectionately known as FANtom Squad.
Friday 13 October was the best night of my life; I will never be able to thank Taylor enough and I’ll probably never have a chance to say what I wanted to say. But after years of hiding it & toning down this side of my life to please people I can honestly I am not ashamed of who I am because who I am is exactly how @taylorswift likes me.
Hi, first off I wanted to say I LOVE your blog and I have been reading it since Tayvin.
So yesterday I tried to convince my dad that Taylor is a lesbian and all her ‘boyfriends’ are there for PR and that’s it, but IT WAS SO DIFFICULT LEMME TELL YOU… I showed him kissgate, (Too blurry! he said), I showed him the Reputation prologue, (doesn’t mean anything), I showed him how Taylor stepped out of a closet at the 1989 concerts, (it’s just a door) I showed him Kimby and Papa Kloss’s instagram likes, (I think he was most interested in those), but all of this to no avail. At the end he was still like, “I’ll bet you 5 years from now she’ll get married to one of her boyfriends and have a kid, and you’ll be like ‘oh it’s PR’” and I was like 😑
What evidence should I show him? In your experience of trying to convince people, what works best? I need a kaylor starter pack or something😂
Cute submission! 👆🏼
I think these three posts/sites are pretty strong: 👯
50 Things I’m Convinced Tay & Joe Do - Baby Edition
1. Taylor smirking at Joe who claims that the air in the doctor’s room is dry which is the reason why his eyes are watering right after they found out that they’re having a girl. 2. Joe’s protective hand constantly reaching for her belly at night whenever she’s changing her sleeping position. 3. Joe opening his Christmas gift from her that was casually placed under the Christmas tree and him becoming incredibly emotional in front of both of their families because inside the little box, there is a positive pregnancy test. 4. Taylor and Joe only telling their families and closest friends about her pregnancy at first because Taylor’s too scared to miscarry. 5. Joe replacing all Nespresso capsules in their houses with decaf capsules because he knows how hard it is for her to waive proper coffee. 6. Taylor developing a weird disgust towards roasted meat yet always attends dinner at Joe’s family and eats the Sunday roast even if most of it lands in the toilet just minutes after they get home. 7. Joe always telling Tay that his mum won’t be mad if she’d tell her about her meat related nausea but Taylor still swallows the food anyway. 8. Joe being overprotective, especially on these days when she’s not feeling well and he’s gone for work. So as soon as she doesn’t pick up her phone for a couple of minutes, he’d immediately call Andrea who then has to calm him down with a soft laugh and a gentle “both of your girls are alright, honey. She’s watching TV with me and her phone’s in the kitchen, so don’t worry.” while Taylor would roll her eyes at his protective behavior but deep down knows how incredibly thankful she is for it. 9. Scott always teasing Joe with referring to him as “Daddy over there wants some more potatoes, Andrea” or greeting Joe with “Hi Daddy, how’s it going?” whenever they see each other. 10. Taylor trying to convince him that their daughter needs to have an old classic and British name such as “Hazel” or “Eleanor” and Joe reminding her that she’s giving birth to a baby, not an old lady. 11. Taylor feeling incredibly maternal at the end of the second trimester and most of the time falling asleep with a pull string musical crib toy on her belly that plays one of her songs (a gift from her fans, of course). 12. Joe spending at least half an hour cuddled up to her belly and talking to the baby after not having seen Taylor for a couple of days, always kissing the round belly and telling her how sad he is sometimes because Taylor gets to carry the baby around and feel her all day, but he can’t. 13. Taylor and Joe constantly fighting about her wanting to wear heels tonight, and him getting angry because she could trip and fall. 14. Taylor being mad at him for an entire day because she thinks that he thinks that she’s too stupid to walk on high heels for the length of one evening. 15. Joe figuring out that the only way to deal with her current hormones is to always give in and let her know how sorry he is and how right she was. 16. Joe constantly finding her asleep at the weirdest places in the house. Once on a stool with head on the kitchen isle, once on the floor in her walk- in closet. 17. Taylor feeling like a teenager again because she finds herself crying so often whenever he’s gone filming for a couple of days and she misses him badly. 18. Taylor being mocked by everyone in her family because she developed the habit to “free the bump” whenever she’s sitting on the patio and a ray of sunshine is crossing the sky. “The baby needs Vitamine D, guys. Shut up.” she’d say, enjoying the warmth on her belly. 19. Joe volunteering in applying cream on her belly to prevent stretch marks every night. 20. Taylor having an increased need for sex in the first months and Joe teasing her with it as much as he can, smirking and mumbling a casual “got it out of your system, love? If yes could you please move a bit so I can watch the rest of this movie? Thank you.” after she just came down from the fifth orgasm that day, sitting on his lap and distracting him from watching a movie on the couch in the living room. 21. “So rude.” she’d mumble and receive a mischievous laugh from him before cuddling up in his arms again. 22. Joe’s standard joke being “I mean, I was in the room when the baby was conceived to I might as well be in the room when the baby’s delivered” whenever he’s asked wether he’ll be in the delivery room or not and Taylor rolling her eyes every single time, “He thinks he’s so funny, it’s incredible.” 23. Joe having the shock of his life when Taylor fainted a couple of times during the first weeks of pregnancy because of low blood pressure, which is absolutely normal yet scared the shit out of him. 24. Joe literally calling her every two hours to remind her to drink water and eat something when she’s at a meeting because he knows that she forgets. 25. Joe literally going nuts after some online magazine releases an article calling Taylor “huge and lazy” because she apparently doesn’t work out enough during pregnancy which results in him wanting to sue the media outlet but Taylor calming him down because she doesn’t give a fuck about this kind of stuff anymore. 26. Taylor feeling her baby kick for the first time when they’re at dinner with her parents and Joe really trying not to be too emotional and become a cry- baby but keeping his hand on her belly for what feels like the entire evening. 27. Taylor craving nachos with whip cream on top. 28. Taylor sitting on the examination couch while waiting for her doctor, trying her best to bat Joe’s hands away from the model of a fetus in a womb: “Stop touching it. You’ll break it!” When the small plastic baby pops out of the fake uterus and onto the floor, Joe’s eyes grow wide and she just rolls her eyes while watching him hysterically trying to put the model back together again before the doctor enters the room. 29. Joe thanking her for carrying his baby and giving him his own little family whenever they both lay awake at night, but the pleasure is all hers. 30. Taylor hiding her big bump and boobs under oversized sweaters because she’s insecure about her physical changes. 31. Joe being well aware of her insecurities which makes him comment things like “you’re so stunning, baby. Is that shirt new?” or “you look gorgeous this morning, how’d you sleep?”. 32. Joe noticing how motherly Taylor has become because of all the hormones in her body. So every time Patrick is joining them on a winter walk she’d remind the boy to fix his scarf because „it’s colder than you think“ and every time Patrick has a cold she’d cook him a chicken soup, even If he didn’t ask for it which is why Joe and him can’t help but tease her constantly by calling her ‚mummy‘. 33. Taylor being embarrassed as hell for an entire week because her morning sickness was really bad while she and Joe were stuck in traffic and she had to throw up in a plastic bag after mumbling “I don’t want it to happen, I don’t want it to happen” while sitting next to him which resulted in her having vomit in her hair while crying and him calming her with a hand on her leg: “s’ fine, baby. C'mon. Just glad you feel better now.” 34. Joe’s mum bursting out to tears as she opens her birthday present and finds an ultrasound scan, which automatically makes Tay emotional as well while hugging his mum for more than five minutes straight. 35. Taylor often having trouble sleeping because she either struggles with immense nausea or her baby being super active. 36. Joe not hesitating to rub her naked tummy for almost an hour when she’s feeling super sick and can’t fall asleep while whispering in her ear how much he loves her and how happy he is with her in his life. 37. Joe waking up one night with tears in his eyes because in his dreams he was holding his baby in his arms and he could see what she looks like and smell her and hear her laugh and everything felt so real, which was the most amazing feeling he has ever felt. 38. Joe noticing how Taylor craves his closeness even more since she’s pregnant which is why he pulls her into a long hug as often as he can or kisses her forehead more often. 39. Taylor showing literally everyone she knows her new “trick” that is placing objects on her huge belly like a tray. 40. Joe counting all ten toes and all ten fingers on the baby, first thing: “just want to make sure you’ll be able to write some songs. Or make action movies..“ he’d mumble towards the baby, making Taylor laugh from afar. 41. Baby Alwyn- Swift having all of Taylor’s features, blonde curls included, but Joe’s lips and his rather introvert personality. 42. Joe holding the baby in front of Taylor’s tummy and mumbling a sleepy “we’ll have to put you back in there again if you don’t sleep, love. m’ warning you. The nights were a lot quieter with you in there.” which makes Taylor laugh and the baby stare at him confused before receiving a laugh and a small kiss from her dad. 43. Taylor announcing the birth of her baby on Instagram with posting a black and white photo of Joe kissing tiny baby feet and the caption “Never felt so blessed in my life. Thanks for all the congratulations and kind messages.” 44. Joe pretending to eat the baby’s foot or hand which always makes the little one laugh and Taylor as well. 45. Taylor posting a boomerang on Instagram for fathers day that shows Joe blowing raspberries on the baby’s stomach with a smile on his face and captioning it with “you have changed my heart forever. Happy Father’s Day.” 46. Joe already spoiling his little girl when she’s just a little toddler and Taylor really not liking it: “He can’t say no. Never. Now she’s just a baby but if he keeps that up our child will be a spoilt rat in a few years” she’d complain to her mom. 47. Joe surprising Taylor with a vacation to the Bahamas because the baby hasn’t been sleeping at all in weeks and they both wander around like ghosts all day long which is why they both urgently need some relaxation away from London and Nashville. 48. Joe realizing that his baby daughter has a miniature version of his lips which is why he always holds her tiny face right next to his for comparison when they’re with friends and family. 49. Joe giving the newborn on his arm a tour around their house when both of their parents came over for a first visit at home. He’d stop with her on his arms in the bedroom and mumble “..and this is where you were made, my love” which results in her family’s laughter and an embarrassed Taylor yelling “oh my god, Joseph. You are unbelievable.” 50. Joe teaching his little girl how to give kisses and always claps his hands to cheer on her whenever her lips made the right move to meet his. After some time, the baby girl loves to give her daddy wet kisses and afterwards automatically claps her little hands as well which makes Joe and Taylor burst out in laughter every time.
Sage had always been a very normal kid except for the stories. It wasn’t that they were disturbing or horrific; they were just unusual. Sometimes they seemed exactly like the kind of thing you’d expect from a little girl, but other times, I’d have to look at her and wonder how she came up with such things.
It started when she was four, shortly after her deadbeat dad split, leaving the two of us on our own.
I had just finished reading her a bedtime story and was tucking her in with a goodnight kiss when she yawned, smiled sleepily, and asked, “You’ll always be my mommy, right?”
“Of course,” I said.
“Good. I’d miss you if you weren’t. You’ve been my mommy for a long time.”
“Yup, your whole life,” I replied, smoothing her hair back.
“All my lifes,” she murmured into her pillow.
Her eyes had fluttered shut, her breathing deepened, and she fell asleep while I sat next to her, thinking that kids really do say the darndest things.
Last night my dad and I spent 2 hours sitting on the couch talking about Taylor and watching Taylor videos. It started because he saw me watching the videos for ticket boosts and goes “why is taylor doing karate?”. So I laughed and told him it was “a day in the life of Taylor” video and he started laughing and goes “its supposed to be like she does karate everyday” so I showed him the whole video. After that we watched all of the new videos, old interviews, video outtakes and skits and just talked about taylor and how down to earth she is. I was telling him about how she showed up to a fans house yesterday with gifts and hung out and my dad stops and goes “I should send Taylor a letter and tell her how much I like her and that she’s funny and real and that I respect her”. So Taylor, if you happen to see this my dad wants to send you a letter but I figured I’d tell you on here that he loves you and we had a great night bonding over you 💕

The door opens and an excited version of Andrea leans her head down to the toddler on Taylor’s arm, a big smile on her face which the little girl only comments with a stare from her big blue eyes and her little hand that automatically wanders to her lips, before shyly putting a finger in her mouth. “Oh, our little guest of honor is here. Hi miss Eleanor. How are you?“ she squeaks excitedly, but the blonde girl just digs her head in her mommy’s chest as shy as always. Taylor laughs and enters her mom’s house. “Say hi to grandma!“ Taylor says encouraging and looks down to the little girl on her arm whose head is still cuddled into Taylor’s chest but who is now smiling shyly at her grandma, right before raising her small hand to wink Andrea. Taylor and her both laugh. It always takes some time for Eleanor to come out of her nutshell. “Sorry for being late, I was actually waiting up for Joe but his plane got delayed so I decided to not make you guys wait any longer and..“ “No problem, honey. We just had some coffee and thats it.“ Andrea explains as Taylor slowly drops the bag from her shoulders and onto the ground of the hallway, then slowly starts to walk into the full living room with Andrea. The second Taylor enters the room is the second that almost everyone starts to excitedly wave at the toddler on Taylor’s arm. The one year old is cautious as always, her little hand immediately reaching up to Taylor’s neck. It’s the classic reaction of Taylor’s baby girl who firstly hides in her mom’s arms before saying hello to strangers. “Honey, look! There’s auntie Alison and Andrew and grandpa and Austin.“ she says and the little girl slowly looks down to the full table of people, observes all the excited faces with reservation which makes everyone laugh already. Then everyone welcomes Taylor warmly. It’s the excited atmosphere after not having seen the entire family reunited since the last holidays. Zoe, the four year old daughter of Taylor’s cousin is the first to run up from her toys and shake Eleanor’s tiny hand excitedly. “Don’t scare her off, honey.“ is what Taylor’s cousin yells from the table. Taylor laughs about Eleanor’s face expression, who’s clearly shocked about the sudden interaction. “Hi Ellie, how are you?“ The little girls asks Taylor’s daughter. Taylor looks at her child with a smile on her face. “How are you, baby? Huh?“ but the baby girl doesn’t move, “Good, huh?“ Taylor answers for her and runs her hands through the blonde tiny curls. “Do you wanna play Barbie with us? We even have the..“ “Later, Zoe. Let Taylor relax for a second.“ her mom answers for her. Taylor laughs at Zoe and crouches down with Eleanor on her arm before kissing Zoe’s cheek real quick. “I missed you Zozo. You look so cute with your two pigtails.“ she says to the brunette girl who just smiles at Taylor and then runs off to play with her other cousins. Taylor laughs at the group of kids that has created a huge field of dolls and dresses on the living room floor. Unfortunately, Eleanor is still a bit younger than the other kids, which means that letting her play with them unsupervised might not really work out. “C’mon, sit down, honey.“ Andrea tells her daughter and Taylor falls onto one of the chairs right next to Austin. She pulls up Eleanor so that she can sit on her lap and then sighs exhaustedly. “You look tired.“ Andrea examines as Austin already starts to poke Eleanor’s nose, which makes Eleanor smile immediately. Somehow she has always loved Austin. And Taylor loves it. “Yeah, we had an interesting night.“ Taylor rolls her eyes, “She’s still a bit sick from last week and her nose was clogged. And then she had a little fever and.. yeah. Not doing so well, huh..“ she mumbles at the one year old on her lap who just looks around with her big eyes. “Oh no, you poor thing.“ Andrea says to Eleanor, who seems busy examining the tablecloth by now. “Do you want some cake?“ She then asks Taylor, who immediately nods. „Oh please, I’ve been craving your pie the entire day.“ she says eager to taste her mom’s pumpkin pie. Scott and the others just laugh at Taylor, who then looks at Eleanor, who happily sits on her lap. Scott smiles at his granddaughter. She seems to be the opposite from Taylor at that age, who was always restless and wild and wouldn’t let Andrea and him sit down for a couple of minutes. But Eleanor is a very calm toddler. He sometimes can’t even believe that this calm and easy girl is really Taylor’s baby. “And you? You want to try some pie?“ Taylor asks Eleanor, who immediately reaches for the plate. Everyone laughs and Taylor just shakes her head. “No, no. Let mommy do that.“ she murmurs and helps Eleanor try a tiny bite from her cake. Everyone looks at the little girl with a questioning look. She makes a grimace at first but then slowly chews on the soft pie. Alison laughs. “Gosh, she’s so cute Taylor. You just want to kidnap her.“ she says and everyone bursts out in laughter. “That’s exactly what a parent wants to hear.“ Taylor replies ironically with a smirk and then takes a bite of her cake as well. “Where’s Joe?“ Austin asks, takes a sip from his coffee. In just that moment Leah and Ben, her other cousin’s twins, come running to the table to ask their mom for something. Eleanor immediately focuses on the two kids. Taylor smiles and Scott laughs. “She’s fascinated by her cousins.“ he mumbles and Taylor just leans down to kiss Eleanor’s head with laughter on her face. “Joe should actually be here any minute. His plane was late.“ she answers Austin while eating the cake. “Where was he?“ he asks and Taylor looks at him. “New York. Shooting for something.“ Taylor just says as Eleanor, who was discovering the tablecloth with her small hands, slowly starts to pull. Taylor stops her immediately. “No no no.“ She mumbles with a full mouth as a very low “nonono“ sound can be heard from the one year old on her lap. Everyone laughs. “Exactly, no no no.“ Taylor says, loves how Eleanor has just gotten to this age where she repeats every single word she or Joe say to her. “Say ‚Daddy’s coming soon‘“ Taylor squeaks, knows exactly how excited the baby girl will be as soon as her daddy walks in. It has been over a week since Eleanor has seen Joe and there hasn’t been a single day without her asking for her Dad. “Dada?“ Eleanor suddenly squeaks and everyone laughs in amusement. “Yeah, your Dada’s coming home today, mhm?“ Taylor says and Andrea looks at her. “How are you by the way? Feeling better?“ she asks and Taylor nods. The last days have been very hard on her. Morning sickness from her second pregnancy and taking care of a sick toddler all alone has been tough. She couldn’t be happier that Joe returns today to help her out with Eleanor. “Yeah, it’s straining when she doesn’t sleep but.. I’m good.“ Taylor answers. “You’re not showing at all.“ Alison says to Taylor with an excited smile. “Well, Joe says the same but I can see a small belly to be honest.“ Taylor says and pulls Eleanor a bit tighter who slowly starts to get bored and whiny on her lap. “And you’ll have someone to play with soon, huh?“ She says to Eleanor, then helps the little girl stand on her lap before kissing her soft and full cheeks. But Eleanor seems unimpressed by her mom. In just that moment, the doorbell rings and Eleanor looks at the direction of where the noise came from. “Oh, is that daddy?“ Taylor excitedly smiles at Eleanor, who then also starts to smile. Everyone laughs and Taylor helps the little girl onto the floor. “Yeah, you know what’s up.“ Taylor laughs and slowly starts to walk up to the door with Eleanor and Andrea. The little girl still walks slowly but she always looks up at Taylor every now and then, clearly excited about her seeing her dad. Andrea, who was quicker than the two, has already opened the door. In just that moment a tired looking Joe is standing in the door way, saying hi to Andrea before noticing his little baby girl that is slowly walking up to him. The biggest smile possible forms on his lips and he immediately crouches down, drops his bag and opens his arms for her. “E, there’s your Dada.“ Taylor smiles excitedly, feels as If her heart would burst as Eleanor quickly lets go of her hand and walks even faster towards Joe. The little girl laughs loudly while running off and into her dad’s big arms. “Oh my god, that’s so cute.“ Andrea just mumbles to Taylor while watching Joe pull her tightly into his arms, still standing in the doorway. He then gets up, Eleanor still in his arms. He presses what feels like a hundred kisses to her tiny face and the little girl buries her face in his neck. “She’s such a Daddy’s girl.“ Taylor mumbles to her mom, right before all of them walk back into the living room. “She loves him more than me guys, just saying.“ is what Taylor explains when everyone looks at Joe with Eleanor on his arm before laughing at Taylor’s comment. “Hi Guys.“ he just smiles at Taylor’s family, still captured by the little girl on his arms. “Let me just say hi to your mum, alright love?“ he mumbles to his daughter, who doesn’t seem to like Joe slowly placing her on the ground again. But Joe holds onto her hand before leaning in to give Taylor a kiss. “Hi, babe.“ she smiles and receives another kiss from her husband. “Hi.“ he smiles before sitting down next to Taylor, Eleanor now on his lap. “Oh my god, I never realized that she looks just like you..“ is what Taylor’s cousin says with a fascinated look on her face. Joe, who’s a bit more restrained than Taylor, just smiles at her and then at his daughter. “Yup, no paternity test needed.“ he jokes and makes everyone laugh before turning to Taylor “You feelin’ better?“ he asks in his thick accent and Taylor nods. “Yeah, I am.“ she just says, then watches Joe running his hands through Eleanor’s curly hear before leaning down to kiss her once more. After a couple of minutes of small talk and Andrea’s great pie, Eleanor gets whiny and starts to move on Joe’s lap. “What’s wrong, love?“ he just mumbles and Taylor fixes the little butterfly hair clip on her daughter’s blonde hair. “Do you wanna play with the other kids, baby? Mhm?“ she smiles encouragingly at Eleanor. Joe then looks at his daughter as well and they both share a look. They just had a conversation with their pediatrician last week about the fact that Eleanor is incredibly shy and introvert and does seem to have some trouble making friend’s with other kids. The doctor assured them both that Eleanor seems perfectly fine, maybe just a little shy, and that Joe and her should just encourage her to play with other kids, even though she’s very clingy at times. “Why don’t we have a look what the other’s are playing love.“ Joe says and Taylor smiles at him thankfully. She’s a bit too tired to play on the floor right now and there’ll thankful that Joe agreed to going with Eleanor. “Oh yes, how fun, E.“ Taylor smiles at the baby girl to encourage her. Andrea looks after Joe and E, who start to walk towards the other kids now. “She’s got that from him.“ Taylor smiles silently at her family, “Elizabeth said that Joe was just like Eleanor when he was that age. Like, super introvert and shy and..“ “Yeah, many kids are like that at eighteen months, honey. Don’t worry about it. She’ll get more self conscious and come out of her nutshell I’m sure.“ Andrea encourages and Taylor nods. She looks at Joe, who’s now crouching down in front of the older kids, Eleanor standing in front of him while watching the other’s play. “Not everyone can be as wild as you were at that age, Taylor. I swear, you were like fire.“ Alison says and everyone laughs. “Apparently.“ Taylor answers. Joe is still crouching behind Eleanor, his big hand placed on her small tummy. “Do you wanna join Zoe and Leah?“ he whispers gently in his daughter’s ears. But Eleanor seems as shy as always, just places her small hands on his big hand. He smiles and remains like that. She always needs time to first observe the situation before starting to play with the other kids as well. The fact that Leah and Zoe are almost three years older than Eleanor doesn’t make the situation easier on the little girl. “Eleanor, do you want the Shelly?“ Leah asks euphorically and hands Eleanor the little Barbie. Eleanor just looks at Leah, then at the Barbie in her hand but doesn’t react. Joe can’t hide a small laugh and grabs the Barbie from Leah’s hands. “Look, E. That was so nice of you, Leah.“ he says happy about the fact that Eleanor’s older cousins try to integrate the smaller girl so much already. Even though Eleanor doesn’t really know how to participate yet. Joe remains like that, the Shelly Barbie in his right hand and the other hand wrapped around his daughter who seems way more fascinated by watching the older girls play than playing by herself. Joe sighs, slowly moves to sit down on the floor since his grouching position was way too uncomfortable. As Eleanor feels him move, she immediately reaches for him again. Joe just laughs slowly, his legs spread on the uncomfortable floor and Eleanor standing between them. “Baby, it’s fine.“ he laughs, “I’m not going.“ It’s a bit difficult at times, how clingy she is in front of other kids. But his mum explained to him that Eleanor just needs his safety and comfort still and that it’s very important that Taylor and him give that to her, until she’s confident enough to let go off him. The girl slowly reaches for the Barbie in his hand and observes the doll with her tiny hands. He smiles at her and presses a big kiss onto her cheek. “Go ahead and join the girls, mhm?“ he mumbles but she seems distracted by pulling on the barbie’s hair. She then looks up at him again with her deep blue eyes that remind him so much of his and then holds the doll in front of his face. He smiles and takes it from her. “You want me to fix her shoe?“ he asks her, noticed that the miniature heel has fallen off. Eleanor watches him carefully. “Look, we have a fashion boutique with only shoes.“ Zoe yells excitedly, points to the little Barbie empire she and Leah just built. Joe can’t help but smile at the girls and looks up to Eleanor again. “Wanna join the girls?“ he encourages again and this time, Eleanor slowly starts to walk up to Leah, remains standing in front of the playground and just observes. Joe turns around to Taylor, who just witnessed the situation with a smile. “As soon as someone mentioned shoes, she walked off. She’s got that from you.“ he says and Taylor pulls out her tongue while laughing. Eleanor then turns her head around to look for her Papa who’s still sitting on the floor on the side, the Barbie doll still in his hands. “Go ahead, baby. Daddy’s right here.“ he just mumbles to her and remains like this, watches Eleanor start to play with the older girls, clearly not able to keep up with their play’s but does it at her own pace. She sometimes grabs a doll and walks back to her daddy to let him change her or even lets Zoe undress the Barbie for her. Joe just watches her with a smile, proud that she finally dared to play with the older kids. Taylor, who was following the conversations on the table, quietly looks at Joe who’s still sitting in the living room. He looks kinds funny. This tall man on the floor with a room full of toddler’s with a Barbie in his hand. The way he looks at Eleanor, the way he remains patiently next to his child just so she feels safe is warming her heart. He’s the best father Eleanor could ever hope for. Taylor smiles silently and he doesn’t notice, struggles with opening the small zipper on one of the pink dresses while sitting on the floor. This. This is her happiness.
This year, the worst thing we’ve ever had to experience happened. After being at the Ariana Manchester concert, although we were thankfully unharmed physically, mentally we were not okay at all.
That is something we will never be able to fully get over and be fully okay all of the time.
Since Taylor Nation dmed us inviting us to a ‘secret event’ we can truly say we have NOT stopped smiling. And now, the best thing we’ve ever experienced happened.
Never did we everrrr in a million years think we’d meet our idol, @taylorswift. Taylor was able to hug all of our broken pieces back together, and that is something we will forever be grateful for.
So we just wanted to thank you, Triplet, Taylor. And also thank Taylor Nation, her Mom, Dad, her entire team for making it THE BEST NIGHT OF OUR LIVES. We love you so fucking much Taylor. You’re the light of OUR lives.
And I also saw this girl in the street wearing a 1989 WT sweatshirt and I went and talked to her and I asked her if she liked Taylor and she was like “yeah!” And I showed her my rep tshirt and she was like sgakaysksbsskabsusiks but then I had to leave but I had time to tell her dad that I met Taylor at the London rep SS and that I really hope that she’s gonna get to meet Taylor someday I was so happy
my mom is so happy we told Taylor her favorite tour is speak now and my dad is so happy Taylor knows his favorite song is stupid old pick up truck I think they like the old stuff because we grew up with Taylor and it reminds them of when we were younger I love it
