As my six newest followers know, I have been hopelessly derelict in my duty to find them good fan fiction as a thanks for joining my little band. Can I plead Christmas? *<:D
My family and I started watching the BBC’s Little Dorrit miniseries the other day, and it reminded me how much I wanted Tattycoram to have a better shot at life than the two rather lackluster choices Dickens gave her. That is the subject of the main link above.
This story is another little treasure I found while hunting up a fic about Tattycoram. I think the BBC (and this author) did a good job of humanizing Flora and her aunt-in-law. Rumor has it that Dickens based Flora on his silly wife, whom he very much despised as he was writing Little Dorrit. Here she’s less like his revenge fantasy and more like a real person.
