In A Different Life… Senator Padmé Amidala meeting with Orn Fee Taa & Cham Syndulla to discus the Freedom Front newest project
Dany Tabet, Spring 2016

In a galaxy far, far away but in a different life… after succeeding liberating Naboo from the Trade Federation, Queen Amidala is determined to help the people of Tatooine as they helped her in her hour of need. Supported by the Refugee Relief Movement, she establishes the Freedom Front, a non-profit organization formed to counter slavery in the Republic particularly in the Outer Rim. The organization becomes for more successful anyone even Padmé herself ever could have dreamed, she works hard to find organization’s more supporters and benefactors. Even political opponents Orn Fee Taa and Chan Syndulla are not prepared against the determined senator of Naboo, who organization happens to have come up with a plan to counter the enslavement of Twi'leks across the galaxy.

Please tell me that at some point Obi-Wan takes the kids out to Dex’s? :D

Of course! Among the other random jobs our favorite scoundrel takes when on planet -part-time General’s aide, errand runner, Senate courier, etc.- Han is kinda-sorta apprenticed to Dex (i.e. learning the Coruscant and Clone Wars era underground, since it’s pretty different than it’ll be in 27 years. Which looks a lot like being a waiter/short order cook and listening to Dex’s stories). At least until he can get his hands on a blockade runner again.

(Will he? Who knows. I know I want him to get one, but the story goes where it wills.)

And, again, Obi-Wan lived 20 years on Tatooine and at least one of those years he ate nothing but snake. Hell yes he’s taking advantage of good food.

AU where Anakin is never found by Qui-Gon.

Growing up a slave left Anakin angry, with a natural skill it’s not long till he helps lead the slave rebellion of Tattooine. With Shmi Skywalker serving as a second in command to their charismatic, but rarely seen and almost mythical, leader and Anakin as the head of their militant wing, it’s not long until the mass execution of the Hutt’s is at hand.

While the skirmish lasted two days, leaving Tattooine a bloodbath, peace is soon instilled. With slavery forcibly abolished and a power vacuum in place of the Hutt’s, Shmi is made the ruler of Tatooine. With the leader of the rebellion being dead, an easy feat to pull off when he never existed in the first place, Shmi serves as a patient, and understanding Queen.

Anakin, for his service, is made the first Senator of the free planet of Tattooine. With a natural dislike of both Jedi and the republic, negotiating agreements on Coruscant becomes tricky.

BONUS: Master Obi-Wan and his Padawan learner, Padmé Naberrie.

Star Wars Atlas (2009)
→ Alderaan, Corellia, Coruscant, Dathomir, Felucia, Geonosis, Mandalore, Mustafar, Naboo, Tatooine
→ Interesting notes: Population, % of species, length of day/year, languages, size of planet

→ I found it helpful to note the populations especially–many planets only had a few million (or less! Tatooine only has 200,000 people living on it!), others have a few billion, Coruscant has a trillion.
→ While no longer strictly canon (as of April 25, 2014) it still gives a solid idea of how big a given planet is, how sparsely or densely populated it is, and what kind of species live there.  Especially helpful if you’re trying to figure out the background of a world when writing fic!
