tat soi

the cilantro, kale and chard made it to the garden, the purple basil is thriving in her pot, ashwagandha in the courtyard. the carrots have been thinned. sage is slowly making it… rip oregano. peacocks ate the tomato sprouts. i just ordered skullcap, peppermint, calendula, chamomile, and tat soi. this is what i was waiting for while i was in school!

Red mustard, Tender Green mustard and Collards.
One of the most expensive items to purchase organically is greens but with a little research there is always something that will grow like a weed in your area. Mustard greens have been poor people food forever and as such there are many different varieties. If you live in a colder climate consider Tat Soi or Mizuna.

Marinated garlic peppercorn pork tenderloin, tat soi with pancetta and garlic, grilled onions, and jasmine white rice with parsley.  This was such a delicious dinner; everything complemented everything else!  It was also the first time we’ve had tat soi - we got it at the Mar Vista Farmer’s Market and now every time we go there I look for it.
