1.10.17 Essays DONE ✔️

Guess who just finished the last of the 10 essays we had all throughout the year, and a month early too? Yep that’s right, your girl right here ;D

(ft. lovely rose tisane tea with a hint of tangy tartness + my kikki.k grad present!)

After getting over a super irrational fear of failing contact lenses, everything just suddenly felt so much lighter and easier! I finished all the other essays through sheer determination and a pinch of idgaf, but the last and hardest case report came so easily, I finished in 1 week, and I feel like I managed to cover the topic even better than the exemplar essay!

It’s a scorcher of a day, good grief!
I could use some cold liquid relief.
Lemonade? Overplayed.
Water? Why, I oughta–!
What this thirsty southern gal needs
Is to be sweetly iced tea’d.

Long Island style? No way, I’ll pass!
And keep lemon away from my glass–
That tart, tangy twist isn’t for me.
Make mine purely simple as can be:
Just tea itself, water…but that’s not all…
I want sugar, Sugar, sure as my drawl.

If there’s no sweetness in that first sip,
A second one won’t pass through these lips.

—  Sugarfree is not for me
Patience and Apples

Summary: Mulder shows Scully the benefits of relaxing and patience.

Rating: NC-17, Light food sex, NC-17

Scully came out of the bedroom to find Mulder facing the sink in just his boxer briefs. “Humm, not bad.” She says under her breath.

Mulder jumps at the sound almost cutting his finger in the process. “Scully, give a guy some warning will you!”

She walks the rest of the way into the kitchen stopping just short of touching him and raises up on her tiptoes to whisper in his ear. “You’re an FBI Agent. Shouldn’t you be a little more aware of your surroundings?”

Mulder shivers from her warm breath in his ear and what he believes are the tips of her nipples grazing his naked back. He gingerly places the knife and apple he was peeling on the counter and spins around to grasp her hips.

Scully is surprised by his sudden move but squeals in delight as he scoops her up and places her on the counter next to the stove. He looks at her flushed face and tousled hair. His eyes darken as they follow the column of her neck to her gaping robe. Scully is steadily watching his expression as it changes from joy to possessiveness to lust. It makes her mouth go dry and breathing shallow. One thing is for sure, Mulder’s single-mindedness is not lost on her body.

Mulder lowers his mouth to the curve of her neck and runs his tongue along her skin to the hollow of her throat, his hands sliding down to the loose tie of her robe. “Miss Scully, is this how you dress to entertain all your guests?

“No,” she breathes. “Just the special ones.”

The robe falls open to expose her naked body. “Fuck, Scully. How was I ever able to live without seeing you like this. You’re so beautiful.” His lips brush her collarbone and suck against her salty skin. He can feel her pulse quicken under his touch.

How did he get so lucky, he thinks as his hands skim inside her open robe and up to brush her taut nipples.

“Mulder, please.” She begs, rocking her hips to get closer to his body.

“Miss Scully, you sound desperate, wanton. Didn’t I service you just a few hours ago? I believe you screamed my name.”

She should be embarrassed, she should slap him for being so crude but instead she grabs at his shoulders and pulls him closer. She opens her legs wider and hooks her feet behind his hips. His cock is hard and straining against his underwear when it makes contact with her wet folds. “Aww!” She cries.

“Christ, Scully.” Are his last words as he captures her mouth and leans her back on the counter.

Their kiss is sloppy and frenzied. Lips, tongues and teeth fighting for dominance. Scully is using her toes to push his boxers down past his hips as he works his left hand under her back to draw her closer.

Scully is steadily rocking her pelvis against his, while she gropes at his body trying to bring him closer.

Mulder chuckles. “Scully, baby. Relax I’m not going anywhere.” He pulls her up to sit on the edge of the counter and slides his hands under her backside . He hoists her up and she yelps before tightening her arms and legs around his body.

Mulder reaches out and picks up the apple and knife from the counter and heads through her apartment towards the bedroom.

Scully barely registers his movements, lost in the skin of his neck. She is kissing and licking his body as he carries her to the bedroom. Once there Mulder lowers Scully on the bed and she scoots to the middle, only then seeing the apple in his hand.

Her eyes are dark, her chest is rapidly rising and falling and her skin is flushed with arousal. She pinches her brow, “Mulder, is this really a time for a snack?”

“Well Scully, in an effort to show you the benefits of relaxing and enjoying the ‘ride’ as it were, I thought I might tell you a story about apples.” A smirk plays across his face as he witnesses the highest eyebrow arch he has ever seen.

“Really, Mulder? Apples.” She sighs.

“Yep. Just hear me out, Scully. You won’t be disappointed.”

Mulder sits close to her body, his hip brushing hers. He picks up the apple and knife off the nightstand and begins slowly cutting a slice out of the fruit.

“Scully, did you know some apple tree varieties take 5 years to bare fruit?”

The apple is juicy and a drop lands on her shoulder. Mulder takes the slice and runs it along her parted lips before slipping it past his own. As he chews he leans down to kiss away the juice on her shoulder.

Scully shivers at the contact and her breath quickens. Mulder cuts another slice and this time a drop of juice lands in the hollow of her throat.

“Patience, Scully. Five years is a long time to wait for an apple.” This time he licks the liquid from her body and she moans.

“Can you imagine all of the things that happened to that tree in five years?” He whispers and eats the next slice. Mulder cuts another wedge from the fruit and several drops land on her right breast.

“Mulder.” She breathes

“Yes, Scully. So many things.” He leans in and begins to clean the juice off her skin as he continues his story. “Rain,” Lick “Wind,” Nip “Sun,” Suck “Snow.” Kiss

All those things were important to make the tree strong. “Slow and steady, Scully.” His tongue brushes across her hard nipple and she cries out grasping for his body to hold him in place.

Mulder pulls back. “No, no, relax. Let me finish.” His next slice causes a stream of liquid to run down her stomach and pool in her navel. Her back arches off the bed at the sensation. Mulder drags the piece he just cut down the trail the juice left and dips it into the pool at the end. He pops the fruit in his mouth and lets his tongue follow the line of the fruit.

“Scully,” Goosebumps raise on her skin and she lets out a shuddering breath. “All those things are important to, in the end, make a perfect apple. Sweet, juicy, tangy and tart.” Mulder cuts the core away and the last drops of juice slip into her light curls and down her folds.

Scully gasps at the feeling and Mulder drops the core and knife back in the bedside table. He moves down her body, chewing the last piece. He swallows and watches her hips roll and buck under his gaze.

“You see Scully, patience.” He licks the curve at her hip. “Savor the moment.” He moves to her other hip and gently nips her skin.

Scully is whimpering and begging to any deity that will help her. He moves his hands to spread her thighs. “Time made that apple, Scully” His thumbs part the folds.

He leans in to swipe his tongue along her opening.

She screams out and finally makes purchase on his hair. He chuckles and runs his tongue along her again, this time circling her clit. Just as she is relaxing into his touch, he pulls back.

“Slow,” he sucks her clit between his lips. “Steady,” he slides a finger into her body and pumps a steady rhythm.

Scully is so close. Her legs are trembling and she pulls his hair to keep him in place. Mulder adds a second finger and she’s gone.

Scully’s hips arch off the bed and her mouth opens in a silent scream. Mulder watches in fascination as she comes. This is a sight he will never tire of as long as he lives.

Scully lays boneless and he slips off the bed to remove his boxers. He is glad they have been at it hot and heavy the last few days, otherwise he would have probably lost it in the kitchen.

Scully opens one eye and sees Mulder leaning over her, his tongue poised to take her left nipple in his mouth. “Mulder.” She sighs, that was… was, well, God… I haven’t ever,”

“Scully, very eloquent words. Hits me right here.” He quips, patting his chest. “But if you don’t mind, I have a little something I’d like to take care of.”

“Just a little something, Mulder?” Scully questions and Mulder looks down at his rock hard dick and grins.

“Oh, Mulder,” she pouts, as she pulls him down on the bed, straddling his hips before sinking down on his length. “Let me tell you a story.”

CURTAIN.

October was in the chair, so it was chilly that evening, and the leaves were red and orange and tumbled from the trees that circled the grove. The twelve of them sat around a campfire roasting huge sausages on sticks, which spat and crackled as the fat dripped onto the burning applewood, and drinking fresh apple cider, tangy and tart in their mouths.
—  Neil Gaiman, “October in the Chair”

stalk-softly  asked:

how the hell could you call rhubarb "red celery", rhubarb is tangy n tart while celery is a flavorless water rod......... blasphemous against strawberry rhubarb pie,

When I was 9 I loved climbing trees. I climbed the gigantic mesquite on our school’s playground every day, and every day I would meet the same block. Somewhere, high in the branches, was an impass; a branch I couldn’t reach unless I took a full jump off the branch I was standing on and managed to grab hold of the other. Every day I would reach it, and every day I would stare at the ground far below me, too afraid to jump.

Until one day, I grew tired of the wood ceiling and was determined to breach, crown through the canopy of tiny leaves and dry gnarled desert branches like a newborn taking its first breath of sweet life. I bent my knees, steeled my heart and soul and took the leap.

I ate shit and fell 12 feet to the ground. The moral of the story is to never take chances. I have never tried rhubarb and I never will

Pairing: Harry Potter x Pansy Parkinson

Setting: Modern, non-magical, post-college AU

Written For: @nyvmph + @inmuddywaters +  this giveaway

Harry Potter has been equal parts frustrating and infuriating for about as long as Pansy’s known him.

It isn’t hypothetical; he’s sanctimonious, and he’s condescending, and he’s obstinate. Obnoxious. He sneers when she doesn’t get one of Granger’s ridiculous fucking math puns, and he snorts out a laugh that’s just this side of too mean when it’s revealed that she’d blinked in half the goddamn wedding pictures. He cuts her off when she talks. Ignores her when she’s quiet. Mocks her when she shows up hungover for Sunday brunch, and when she flirts with the bartender at a gross little dive bar in Venice, and when her agent finally gets her a spot on the lingerie pages of a Nordstrom catalogue.

His disdain—icy-hot and obvious and so, so unforgivingly sharp—had bothered her, once upon a time.

It doesn’t anymore.

The sun is out, and the ocean is glittering.

“Are you seriously drinking at four in the afternoon?” Potter asks. His hair is a ratty mess of too-long split-ends and cheap 2-in-1 shampoo residue. She wants to cut it. “On a Tuesday?

“Mm,” Pansy hums, irritation spiking. “I like to chase my Xanax with tequila. Goes down really smooth.”

“You realize you aren’t actually still living in a sorority, right?”

She flashes him a smile that a photographer had once called ‘terrifying’. “Sisterhood is forever,” she informs him, sweetly.

“Or until you feel like stealing someone’s boyfriend.”

Pansy huffs. “She was a pledge, and he wasn’t her boyfriend.”

“Fiancé, then?”

“Not all of us try to propose to our fuck-buddies, you know,” Pansy shoots back, registering a savage swell of satisfaction when Potter recoils.

“She was my girlfriend, and it wasn’t a proposal,” he grits out, but the denial comes off flimsy. Half-hearted. Bitter.

the frozen yogurt paradox

tumblr AU: “I always give you extra toppings when you come into our yogurt shop and it’s costing me money but damn you’re hot."
pairing: Bellamy/Murphy
words: 3805
triggers: none except for cheesiness. mozzarella, anyone?

It was any other day at the frozen yogurt shop.

It was a meaningless, simple existence. Murphy worked at the yogurt shop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after his junior classes at the university. He served sweetly tart, yet overpriced yogurt that came in colorful flavors. He sprinkled fresh, delicious toppings and argued with his coworker about the fact they couldn’t play his death metal music on the speakers because they couldn’t have songs like Maze of Torment and Lord of All Fevers and Plague playing in a friggin’ frozen yogurt shop.

It was just past three in the afternoon on that fateful Friday. Murphy was wiping the counter for the nth time in boredom when he came in.

By he, Murphy means, perfection in human form. Pygmalion would have ditched Galatea and gone gay for him - if he wasn’t already. You could never know with those ancient Greeks. Michelangelo would have looked at David and thought, ‘What was I smoking last night?’ That was all the references Murphy had, since that was all Murphy paid attention to during his sophomore History class. Basically – god damn, he was hot.

He had a small smile on his face as his warm hazel eyes looked around their colorful frozen yogurt shop. He was wearing his university jacket, and beneath the school emblem Murphy read, 'Track & Field’. Murphy instantly noticed from the school emblem that he was studying at his university’s bitter rival – but Murphy was more than ready to wave a flag and defect at the sight of him.

He wanted to run his hand through his thick, black  hair. He wanted to feel what those cheekbones felt underneath his thumbs and he wanted to see those light scatter of freckles on the bridge of his nose up close.

Murphy wanted to do a lot of things to him, and he subsequently wanted the guy to do a lot of things back to him, so many that Murphy couldn’t possibly dare say them aloud. But the only thing Murphy ended up doing was letting out a high squeak right before ducking behind the counter. He pulled his knees close to his chest as he  around for his coworker. Where was he?

Rusty Nail's Recipes

Dear Drinkers. How has your holiday season been? So far, here at the Pony Keg, things have been delightful! All the more so after we got rid of that awful Elf On A Shelf and upgraded to a far more professional option. She may see you when you’re sleeping, and she may know when you’re awake. She certainly knows if you’ve been bad or good, so be good, for Friendship’s sake!

Ladies and Gentlemen…

It’s Stalkerloo!

Yes, she’s traded in her scooter for a black turtleneck, and some Sam Fisher Spectacles, and sure, she might report folks to Twilight Sparkle’s Friendship Juche for Re-Education, but she does it out of how much she cares about her friends and community, and totally not out of fear of being Re-Educated, herself.

A Stalkerloo

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Smirnoff Orange Chilled in a Freezer.
  • 1 oz Stoli Cranberry Chilled in a Freezer
  • 2 Sugar Cubes
  • Chilled Soda Water
  • Chilled Collins Glass
  • 2 Food Grade Neon Green LED lights.

Special Equipment:

A spoon, or preferably, a Swizzle Stick with a Muddler.

Making a Stalkerloo:

  1. Put The Sugar Cubes into the glass
  2. Add the Vodkas.
  3. Muddle (Crush up) the sugar cubes, and stir them into the vodka until the drink is clear.
  4. Gently add the Soda, to top the glass, and give the drink a gentle stir, so you don’t agitate all the nice carbonation.
  5. Activate your LED lights, and drop them into the drink.
  6. Drink!

You’ve just made a Stalkerloo!

The drink is ideal for this time of the season, being both the tart, tangy savoryness of the cranberry and orange, while also being an effervescent lift, thanks to the soda water. The LED lights? Why, flip the light switch in the room you’re in, and you’ll see Stalkerloo’s Goggles right there in the glass.

Keep sending in suggestions as to who you’d like to see made into a drink, and Stay Thirsty, my friends!

Use This Instead! (Easy Ingredient Substitutions)

Grains. Most grains are fairly interchangeable. If you can’t find farro for recipes like Stefano Farro Chickpea Salad, swap in brown rice, quinoa, barley or wheat berries.

Semolina Flour. Semolina flour is a strong flour that works well for pizza and pasta dough. But if you don’t have any, don’t sweat it. Use all-purpose flour in the same amount.

Fleur de Sel. Fleur de sel is a delicate white salt from the northern Atlantic coast of France. Stefano uses it to finish dishes like his Fresh Tomato Salad with Basil, but another flaky salt, like Maldon salt, can be used in its place.

Greek Yogurt. Balkan- style yogurt that has a 6% M.F. (milk fat) or higher usually stands in perfectly. Or you can make your own drained yogurt.

Leeks. In many recipes that call for leeks, you can get away with a mild-flavoured onion like red onion or Spanish onion. Except for, you know, leek soup. Cuz then you’re making onion soup. You get it.

Shallots. Swap in garlic, leeks, or other mild, sweet onion. If the recipe calls for the shallots to be roasted whole, use pearl onions instead.

Sumac. With a fresh tart and tangy flavour, Stefano uses this in his Baba Ghanouj. If you can’t find it, use paprika instead.

Poblano chili peppers. With a mild to medium heat, Anaheim or jalapeno peppers usually make a good substitute, though the heat may vary so taste and add accordingly.

Anchovy paste. This gives recipes like Stefano’s Pan-Fried Trout with Anchovy Butter delicious umami flavour. Substitute with finely chopped anchovies if you can’t find the paste. Don’t have anchovies at all and you’re making Stefano’s Bacon and Egg Caesar Salad? A few shakes of Worcestershire sauce can be used in a pinch.

Marsala. When you don’t have this fortified Italian wine in your liquour cabinet, you can also swap in red wine or good quality stock, although the flavour of either won’t be as strong. The place where we’d tell you to avoid doing this for Stefano’s Veal Marsala. It’s what makes the dish.

Orange liqueur. Haven’t made your own yet? You can always use straight-up frozen orange juice concentrate.

White balsamic vinegar. Another pale-coloured vinegar like white wine or champagne vinegar makes a fine replacement.

Wine. While it won’t provide the same liveliness, you can sub in a high-quality stock in most dishes when you’re in a pinch. Depending on the recipe, you could even replace small amounts of wine with water (for deglazing, for instance).

Pancetta. We use this a lot here IN THE KTICHEN, but if you don’t have it or can’t find it, use regular bacon instead. Then you can still make Stefano’s Roasted Cornish Hens - a must if you haven’t yet.

Really nice recipes. Every hour.

Show me what you cooked!

JB as a boyfriend

The 5 senses version

Sight:

  • He has a poker face that only you know well enough to read his emotions
  • Smiling brightly every time right before he kisses you
  • His face lighting up every time you walk into the room, regardless of his mood

Sound:

  • Teasing you about silly things like being scared of spiders and scary movies (but he loves protecting you from those things)
  • Singing you cheesy love songs whenever he gets the chance
  • Texting or calling for at least an hour every night you aren’t together

Taste:

  • Apple pie ~ Tart and tangy, not 100% sweet but 100% tasty

Smell:

  • Fall leaves on a windy day, campfires in early autumn, hinting at storms behind his gentleness

Touch:

  • Spooning in bed with neck and jaw line nuzzles and kisses
  • Resting his head in your lap while watching TV on the couch
  • Massages on the bed that turn into tickle and pillow fights

Overall, JB doesn’t care about an audience, he is affectionate and loving at all times. He can be cranky but you are the one bright spot that always shines in his life.
