I’d spend whole nights up on the roof, staring at the sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of you again. I always believed that one day you‘d come back, and here you are. You’re real. I was right, and all those folk that said I was crazy? Well, they can all go fuck themselves.
In the wake of Tara’s brutal murder, a now-widowed Jax “is in outlaw form for the first time,” says series creator Kurt Sutter. “It’s the most proactive we’ve ever seen our hero in the sense of being singular of purpose. It’s all about revenge.” Meanwhile for Gemma, it’s all about making sure he doesn’t learn the truth about the crime, which propels both her and accomplice Juice into a “f—ing nightmare,” teases Sutter. With Gemma off covering her tracks, Wendy (newly minted series regular Drea de Matteo) steps in to help care for the boys — and make a new friend in the process. “There’s an interesting friendship that builds between Wendy and Nero,” reveals the EP. “It’s not romantic. It’s strictly two junkies sharing a bond.” Speaking of bonds, look for Tig and Venus (a returning Walton Goggins) to take theirs to the next level. Declares Sutter: “That’s definitely our love story this season.”
BONUS SPOILER | Despite her new full-time NCIS: New Orleansgig, CCH Pounder’s DA Patterson will be back for “two or three episodes,” says Sutter, noting, “She has this very interesting maternal dynamic with Jax. I want to bring that back around.”
