taking something to knock me out

the-queen-sees-all  asked:

I was wondering, what if Harry and Hermione had met before Hogwarts?

The first time Harry Potter met Hermione Granger, she was standing with her chin up and her hands on her hips a few paces from the old olive tree in the schoolyard, glaring into the far distance. The wind was trying to twist and buffet her hair into her face, but mostly it was just tangling cheerfully with itself.

Dudley and Piers were busy kicking all the other kids off the play structure, so Harry had retreated out into the grass. He stood a safe distance from the weird girl who was pretending to be a statue and thought wistfully of lunch.

“There’s a fallen bird’s nest,” the girl said in a rapid and certain tumble of syllables. “The boys knocked it out of the tree, but I chased them off and I’m hoping the mama bird comes back. I’m Hermione Granger. We just moved here.”

“Harry,” he said.

“How’d you get that scar?” she said.

“Car accident.”

“That’s a weird scar for a car accident.”

Harry shrugged. “It killed my parents.”

She blinked quickly at him and even at that distance he wished vaguely that she wore glasses, too, because her gaze was something that really felt like it should have some built-in bluntedness. “Mine are dentists. Mum’s taking me to the library after school, want to come?”

-

Before they went into Diagon Alley, Harry asked Hagrid if they could find a payphone. Hermione picked up on the first ring.

“Harry! Where have you been? I’ve been trying and trying to call–”

“Sorry, yeah. Um, so, I’m not coming back to school next year, I…” Harry drifted off, staring at Hagrid’s massive moleskin shoulders. The giant man saw him looking and gave him a tentatively cheerful little wave. “It’s been weird, Herm.” He pressed his forehead into the phone stand, but not too hard. “I think you’re the only thing I’m really going to miss.”

“Harry,” Hermione said and Harry started to frown, because that wasn’t her stern and startled voice. That was the voice that meant she was off down a charging war path of other thought and might not have heard him at all. “I’ve been reading.”

“Of course you’ve been reading,” he said. “I’ve been being forcibly hidden from a swarm of post office owls–”

“You’re in books,” she said in breathless delight, squeaking over the telephone line. “First thing we did, of course, after the professor explained, was get her to escort us to a bookstore– a whole bibliography, Harry, a whole world’s bibliography I haven’t even touched– how am I ever going to–” She took in a little calming breath, and murmured, “Different infinities, it’s okay, Hermione, okay.” A sharp exhale and then she tumbled right back into her rushing rivelet of a sentence. “And I picked up a good dozen, besides the school books, of course, and Harry, you’re in books, in Dark Wizardwork of This Century and A Modern Wizards’ History and October’s End: A Biography–”

“Hermione,” said Harry with slow enunciation. “Are you a wizard, too?”

“A witch, I think,” she said. “But I’m still reading up on the sociology of it all.”

-

Hagrid wouldn’t say Voldemort’s name, but Hermione would. She came over with a stack of books up to her chin, gave the Dursleys her normal pointed little stare that said she’d like to set them a little on fire, and curled up in his cupboard with him.

He supposed she probably could learn how to set them on fire, now, if she really wanted to.

She gave him passages and excerpts with his name in them, with his parents’ names, a home he hadn’t known. There were pictures of a ruined house with the smoke drifting in little curls of ink. There was his mother, smiling and waving in black and white. There was his mother, laid out on the floor, with a sober little caption below it. That picture was still, except for curtains fluttering in the window.

Hermione finally dragged her face far enough up from the pages to see Harry holding his own hand very tightly, and then she closed the book and reached for one about which magical creatures you should pet and which you shouldn’t.

“Sorry,” she said.

“I wanted to know.”

“I’m still sorry.”

The Grangers drove Harry, Hermione, Hedwig, and their trunks to King’s Cross Station. Mrs. Granger kissed the top of Hermione’s head while Mr. Granger mussed Harry’s mop of dark hair affectionately, and then they swapped children and repeated the treatment. Hermione pushed her hair back out of her face and marched them all to Platform 9 ¾, the entrance mechanism of which she had read all about.

“Before you go,” Mrs. Granger said, “let’s buy you some sandwiches? I don’t know what sort of food they’ll have past that–”

“There’s a trolley,” Hermione said, but her parents dragged them off to a snack kiosk anyway, Harry happily in tow.

As they were on Hermione’s tight schedule, there were plenty of compartments open, and they took one all to themselves– well, to themselves, Hedwig, and Hermione’s books, which took up two seats. (Harry would wheedle Hagrid into taking him to Diagon Alley for Christmas shopping that year, where he would get Hermione a carry-all bag for her small personal library.)

Hermione took a long preparatory breath while Harry unwrapped his sandwich. “Harry? What if I go and sit down under the Hat and I just sit and sit there, and then it says I’m not a witch at all?” Hermione said, the words getting more squashed together and higher-pitched as she went. “I’m not magic, it just got confused, and they send me home? Harry, I don’t want to be a dentist. Other people’s mouths are disgusting–”

“You’re not going to get kicked out,” Harry said, chewing amiably on his sandwich. It was not good, but the Dursleys hadn’t bothered with any breakfast for him and he hadn’t wanted to bother the Grangers about it either. It was a bit dry on the way down, but it settled warmly in his belly.

“But what if I do?”

“I’ll stage a protest,” said Harry. “Refuse to do my homework til they reinstate you.”

“You’re not going to do your homework anyway.”

“See how dedicated I am to you.”

She made a dismissive little noise at him, wringing her hands in her lap.

“Hermione,” he said, and she lifted her bush of hair to look at him. “You’re the most magical person I know. It’s gonna be alright.”

She gave a long slow blink but whatever she might have said was interrupted by an uneven knock at the door. “Um,” said the pudgy boy standing there. “I’ve lost my toad.”

Hermione leapt to her feet. “Where did you see him last?”

Harry followed in the wake of her forward charge, but he brought the rest of his sandwich with him.

-

(Harry did not know this and would not know this until Mrs. Granger mentioned it casually over a Christmas dinner years and years later– but she and Mr. Granger reported the Dursleys for child abuse and neglect, over and over.

The reports got lost– minds scrubbed down, papers vanished– but they kept calling in reports. They considered kidnapping. They couldn’t imagine why the wizarding world might want to keep their chosen one somewhere so toxic, why they might want to keep this underfed child and his messy hair with those people.

“My mother left me a blood protection spell,” said Harry, whose scar had not ached in years. He poked at his mashed potatoes under the focused attention of Mrs. Granger’s stern little forehead wrinkle. “I had to live with family, blood family.”

“Then they should have made them treat you right,” Mrs. Granger said, as though it was that simple.

Mr. Granger gave Harry another helping of peas.)

On the steps of Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy thrust out his hand to the Boy Who Lived, who surveyed the open palm with amusement. “Thanks,” said Harry. “But I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself.”

The redheaded, freckly, hand-me-down clothes boy Malfoy had been bothering snorted. Harry slipped his hands into his pockets.

“You’re the kid with the rat from the train,” Hermione said. “And the spell that didn’t work.”

“It was a cool rhyme anyway, though,” Harry said. “Hi, I’m Harry, this is Hermione.”

“Yeah, she said, then. I’m Ron– uh, Ron Weasley.”

“Yeah, he said,” Harry said, rolling his eyes Malfoy’s direction. “Come on, you wanna stand with us? Hermione will tell you about the ceiling.”

“It’s enchanted!” said Hermione.

-

When Hermione founded SPHEW, Harry was not surprised. He had spent too many schoolyard days escorting spiders to safe spaces, keeping vigil over fallen bird’s nests, and watching Hermione stand up on her desk chair in heated pitched verbal battles with teachers. She’d driven at least two teachers to tears and taught most of them at least a few new vocabulary words.

-

Over summers and holidays, Harry and Hermione took Ron to the movies, to the seashore, to Hermione’s top three favorite libraries. Hermione’s Aunt Meg taught them how to whittle under a cloud of cigarette smoke that clung to Harry’s hair until he washed it out.

In this life, there were things in the Muggle world that Harry missed, that he wanted to see again. He loved Hogwarts, and he nominally went home to the Dursleys each summer, but he knew he always had a bed at the Grangers’. He knew the weird system they used to organize the books on their shelves. He’d pass Mrs. Granger the marmalade in mornings before she had to ask. He got free dental check-ups all his life, which was good because the Dursleys rarely bothered taking him into the dentist.

The whole Granger family tore apart newspapers every morning, calling article excerpts across the table and pointing each other to their favorite journalists. Before Hermione even first stepped onto Hogwarts grounds she got a subscription to the Daily Prophet. During Harry’s fourth year, Mr. and Mrs. Granger got Arthur Weasley to buy them an owl and then began an unending campaign of furious letters to the editor that never got published.

In a crumbling boat shed, Severus Snape died, but first he pressed a shining bundle of memory into Harry’s hands.

The fight was still going– Neville newly broad and certain; Luna whipping out quiet, barbed little curses; Ginny charging like an army in and of herself. Hermione had her arms full of basilisk fangs. Ron was moving people like bishops and knights. But Harry had a long damp walk before him, so he had time to wade through that life not his own.

Severus had been a lot of things– one of them was in love. Harry dragged his feet through forest mulch, seeing a little redheaded girl in sunlight, hands not his own offering her transformed flowers. It had been just them for so long. For Severus, for so long, there had been no one but him and Lily.

Even in Hogwarts, Severus had drifted through the classrooms and common room and library. He had believed in magic, in the cool slide of good knives through dried roots, and in Lily– always, always in Lily– Lily in sunlight, Lily chewing on her thumbnail over Transfiguration homework, Lily flicking soapsuds at him in her kitchen at home over summer, Lily pig-tailed and seven, wide-eyed as he showed her the first magic she’d ever seen, a leaf to a flower, a bit of sunlight to a bit of fire.

He had loved, and it had been a real thing. He had fucked up, and it had been a real thing, that heartbreak, that regret.

When Harry turned the Stone in his hand and saw his mother step into pseudo-life in that forest clearing, he thought I wish I’d known you. He thought about how she was in sepia and gray, here, just like in the pictures in the pages of Hermione’s books.

But he was also thinking about Severus. He was remembering Lily in sunlight, remembering her walking away, remembering her in that same cold photographed sprawl but in color–in grief–in bruised knees and heaving gasps.

Severus had been the first to find Lily’s body and it had felt like someone had cut the sunlight out of him. Harry was living through that grief, but he was also living through the wail of the child crying unacknowledged. His tiny pudgy hands were wrapped around the guardrail of his crib.

Harry was thinking about a girl standing in a field like a statue, hands on hips. He was thinking about Hermione’s raised hand ignored in Potions, or the way Snape had sneered that he didn’t see a difference in her cursed teeth. Love had made him brave, perhaps. It had killed him, but it had not made Severus good.

Harry wondered if his mother would have escorted spiders to safe places, if she would have stood guard over fallen bird’s nests, if she had worried herself to pieces that first time on the Hogwarts Express about the Hat telling her she didn’t really belong.

“I wish I’d known you,” he told the specter of Lily Potter. He held his own hands tight.

For Harry, for so long, there had been no one but him and Hermione. Even in Hogwarts, there were things only she would understand– parking meters, the cobweb ceiling of his cupboard, the silence of marmalade at breakfast. Harry believed in magic and he believed Hermione Granger was the most magical thing he knew.

“They’ll be alright,” he said. “I’ll be alright. I was alright, mum. I wish I’d known you– but I wasn’t alone.” He squeezed his hands tighter– Hermione showing him her favorite spots in her favorite libraries; Ron shyly showing them the Burrow like it was anything less than a magnificent masterpiece of warm rooms and patchwork architecture; Hermione standing in the field like a statue, bushy-haired and seven years old, jaw set. “She wasn’t alone, either,” he said. “And she’ll be alright. Ron will be alright. I have to do this, don’t I?”

“We are so proud of you,” Lily said.

“Thanks,” said Harry. “Sorry,” said Harry, and wondered if Hermione was going to be able to read the little passages and excerpts with his name in them, with those un-moving pictures and the sober captions underneath.

He dropped the Stone.

-

When Harry Potter died for the first time, crumpled in forest mulch, he didn’t go to a squeaky clean King’s Cross Station. There were no crescent moon glasses to twinkle kindly at him.

He stood under an old olive tree and a little girl looked up at him with those eyes that needed shielding, needed blunting, needed a manufacturer’s warning. “A wind’s coming,” she said. “You can just go. It will be easy.”

He stood outside Diagon Alley, a Muggle payphone tucked between his shoulder and ear. “You’re in books,” she said, with a breathlessness he’d barely heard for years. There had been too much weight on his shoulders, on hers. “You’re done,” she said. “You’ve done enough. Go on, tap three bricks up and two to the left.”

He stood in Godric’s Hollow, in the snow, holding her hand, looking at the ruined house. “You should have had this,” she said. She was seven and small, not nineteen and weary like she had been in life. The sky was overcast but there was sunlight glinting in her hair. “You can still have this. You can have everything.”

“You’re not real,” Harry said.

“But you are,” she said. “There’s a wind coming. It will be easy.”

“You’ve never done anything easy in your life,” he said.

She took both his hands– hers were so small against his grown fingers, his broad palms, and how had they done everything with hands that small? Basilisks and werewolves; shouting down teachers from atop desk chairs.

Harry was sitting in his cupboard in the light of its single bulb and he was too big for this space, his shoulders curling forward, his head bowing. She was standing there with sunlight still in her hair and her arms piled high with books. “You don’t belong here,” she said. “It will hurt. You won’t fit, if you go back. Everything can be easy. Everything can be fine. It doesn’t have to hurt, ever again.”

“Hermione,” he said and leaned forward, put his hands on her hands where they were gripping her books. “It’ll be alright.” He smiled and she was staring at him with those eyes, those goddamn eyes. “We never fit, remember?”

“We tried,” she said and Harry squeezed her small hands gently.

“Send me back,” he said. “I want to go home.”

-

After the battle, as Hogwarts rang with frantic healing, crushing grief, and raging celebration, the three of them retreated to the library. Hermione hauled them down narrow aisles until she found her favorite tucked-away nook and they all collapsed on sagging sofas that seemed to not have been touched at all by the war.

“Well,” said Hermione. “What now?”

Ron let his head flop back against the seat, hair tumbling all over his pale forehead. “I’m going to nap,” he said. “For a month.”

“That’s not physiologically possible,” said Hermione. “Or if it is, then it’d be a coma.”

“It’s a metaphor,” Ron said, then: “no, wait, a hyperbole.” Hermione beamed at him. He blushed a little and elbowed her gently.

“After this, you’ll be in books, you know,” Harry told her.

“Not– I mean–” Hermione rubbed at her nose furiously. Ron laughed enough to wake up and sit up, throwing an arm around her shoulders.

While Ron came up with outlandish titles for Hermione’s eventual many biographies, Harry pulled his feet up onto the sofa. He watched the candles float quietly between the shelves.

1. The friends you have at the beginning of the year can completely change by the end of it. People change, and if they aren’t improving your life in some way, it’s okay to drop them.

2. Take many pictures. Don’t let it take over your life, though. You don’t want to look back and see that you only captured your memories with your camera lens and not within your mind and heart.

3. Find your safe place. Whether it be in the arms of a certain person or on the balcony of Barnes and Nobles with a cup of soup, find it and don’t let it go. You can have more than one safe place.

4. Be nice to everyone. You honestly don’t know what skeletons people are hiding in their closets. Everyone has their skeleton. Every person on this earth has something in their life or past worth collapsing on the ground in uncontrollable sobs over.

5. Reading is so important. Highlight the things that you read that you find intriguing. Read a lot, it can only do good things for you.

6. Writing always helps.

7. The girl with anxiety has the deepest thoughts. The autistic boy has the kindest heart, and the schizophrenic has the ability to put a smile on your face in seconds. Do not judge character based on a mental illness.

8. Music has an indescribable ability to connect and heal. Let it do its thing.

9. Her prettiness doesn’t make your prettiness any less pretty.

10. Getting close and letting someone in is scary as hell. You know what else it is? Worth it.

11. The minute you feel your happiness being dictated by someone else, take a break from them.

12. Adventuring is a must. Sunsets always help the soul, showing that endings can be as beautiful as beginnings.

13. Spend more time with your parents doing things they enjoy. Later in life, you’ll be wishing you’d spent more time with them than on your Netflix account.

14. Home is not always a place, but whatever you love with your whole heart. I have many homes, and it’s okay if one home doesn’t feel like home anymore.

15. Making someone smile and feel genuinely happy has the ability to warm your heart from the inside out. No matter how much pain someone is going through, you made them forget about it for a few seconds. Isn’t that something?

16. Feel everything and let it hurt, but don’t go back to what broke you.

17. Don’t let fear hold you back from what you want. The view from the other side is spectacular.

18. Tell people how you feel. Even if you’re scared it’ll burn your life to the ground. You say it loud.

19. You find the most extraordinary things in the most ordinary places.

20. Swollen lips and sweaty “I want you’s” can make you feel again, but I don’t want to feel anything if it means having to sit there feeling like the wind is constantly being knocked out of me when he stops calling back.

21. Sometimes the way you think of someone isn’t the way they actually are.

22. Never underestimate the amount of joy the holiday season can bring you. Try and find ways to feel that way all year long.

23. Timing is never going to be perfect; if you care about something enough, you’ll make the time. It’s all about priorities.

24. If women used their words to build each other up instead of tearing each other down, our world would change drastically.

25. Recovery can take 2 weeks or 5 years. You aren’t any less of a person if it takes you longer to find a way to let go of what’s hurting your heart.

26. You only need yourself, but having people by your side trying to understand means a lot more than you might think.

27. You find your truest friends in your darkest hours.

28. You can feel the whole world in a month and nothing after 2 years. Time does not define love.

29. Always say yes to dessert.

30. Concerts make life worth living. So does yelling your favorite song along with your best friend in the car with your best friend with hands intertwined. These are things that show you that you don’t need to be on drugs to feel invincible.

31. So does kissing.

In the weeks following what they’re calling The Battle of New York, Bruce settles into the Tower with an incredible ease.

The floor Tony designed for him is shockingly well-suited to his tastes and needs considering how Tony likes to claim he’s not a team-player. Bruce suspects each floor is equally well-designed and perhaps that’s why they’re all able to slip into a routine so quickly.

It feels like something missing has slotted into place and Bruce can tell just by looking at the others’ faintly bewildered expressions when they look around at the space they share that they feel the same.

Still, Bruce never looks toward Harlem.

Why Korra Actually Performed Much Better in the Fight Than Previously Thought

Remember when we were first introduced to Kuvira? She took down a bunch of people with just one of her metal band moves.

So what we can assume is that Kuvira is a strong enough bender that she can typically defeat her enemies with a single strike. But now, let’s look at how many times Kuvira lands one of those one-shotters on Korra.

Once,

twice,

three times

four times

five times

six times

seven times.

EIGHT TIMES!

It takes Kuvira, EIGHT TIMES to wear Korra down enough so that Kuvira can hold her in her earth grip. (Although I argue that Korra was never physically beaten into submission this battle, and instead it was seeing her phantom again that really broke her.)

Now how many hits did it take Korra to knock down Kuvira?

(technically two) but i’d argue only one. Because Korra’s   first airbending move used against Kuvira was defensive and only made Kuvira slide back, whereas Korra’s second airbending move was more of an actual offensive move and it knocks Kuvira out in ONE HIT.

So, Korra gets up from every single attack, and Kuvira gets wiped out in a single hit? Something tells me that Korra doesn’t deserve all of this fandom abuse.

And lastly, even when Korra is confined by Kuvira’s earth grip,

she punches through it as if it’s paper!

So, although at first glance this fight may have made Korra’s bending ability seem lackluster, i’d argue that the fight showed just how strong Korra is through her legendary resilience in always getting back up from Kuvira’s attacks, and her ability to knock Kuvira out with a single strike.

Remorse.

I miss you.

His mouth is dry as he stares down at his phone, thumb hovering over the arrow that’ll send the text he’s longing to mail. With another deep breath, he studies the message over again, then begins to question himself. Should I write more? She deserves an apology. Maybe the word crave instead of miss. Yearn for? He deletes the text but retypes it in the same moment.

He’s never felt guilt this deeply before, he’s never so desperately wanted to turn back time and change everything– rephrase all of his words differently. Do things differently. The thought of him not being able to go back and change things hits him like a ton of bricks, sending his short nails into the palm of his hand.

A clap on his shoulder wakes him from his thoughts, and he looks up with attentive eyes. “Ready to go?” Jeff laughs, tucking his heel into the back of his shoe. “Reservations don’t hold themselves.”

“No, yeah.” he rushes, tucking the locked phone into the back pocket of his jeans. “Let’s go.”

“It’s my fucking job, y’know that, we’ve been through this a million times before. Get over it, angel.”

She scoffs in disbelief, untying the silk scarf from around her neck. “Get over it? Get over it. Over my boyfriend of nearly a year not telling anyone about our relationship—?“

“The media would go insane I- fuck I told y’this—”

“I’m not asking you to tell the world, Harry! Maybe your mom, your sister? My family? I’ve been lying to them for way too long, keeping an enormous part of my life away from them how’s that supposed to make me feel? Do you know how distressing it is to be introduced as a friend to you? To not tell anyone, not even my best friend how much you mean to me?”

“Y’do know it’s like that for me as well? A relationship is consists of two people—”

“Not that I’d know.”

The devil was once an angel - a beings whom’s sole purpose was peace and love. He held the grace of heaven in his hands and the love of God carefully sewn into his skin by a master seamstress. But one day he grew jealous, the sin in the form of an emotion plagued him. He aimed his heart towards this jealousy and lurched in it, losing himself. The thread in his countenance unwound and the needle grew dull. He had lost his grace. He fell from his family, being crowned the king of despair and agony, becoming the utter essence of hatred that grew in him, becoming the nature of his still beat heart. He had lost it to the desire to be worshiped, and granted himself henchmen.

And so he was given a new name, a name that has only been uttered from a dead mans lips. What a cold pale purple they hold, the cracks running down the skin as they shiver out the name. “Min Yoongi”

The Playbook- Jughead Jones

Pairing: Jughead x Reader

Description: Chuck asks Reader to homecoming, Jughead thinks its a bad idea. Turns out, he was right.

Warnings: Swearing, reader has sort of a mild panic attack, but nothing too serious. This was a request from an anon who liked one of the headcanons in the non-asexual Jughead list. Hope you guys like it!!!

—————————————————-

I sat at a table in the student lounge by myself, waiting for my best friend Jughead. I had my sketch pad out, messing around and trying to keep myself busy.I didn’t really like sitting alone, because usually Reggie and his gang of man-children would take the attention of the student lounge, and I would be subjected to the torture that is their awful and offensive banter.I glanced around the room, uninterested, until my eyes caught the gaze of another, Chuck Clayton.

Chuck was caption of the football team, formerly co-caption with Jason Blossom before he was killed. I had never heard anything bad about him, and he sat next to me in my math class. I helped him out a bit with his schoolwork once in a while.He was actually a really kind person from what I could tell.
Chuck stood up, walking towards me. I froze, wondering why in the hell anybody like Chuck Clayton would give me the time of day.

“Hey, y/n.” Chuck stood in front of me, smiling brightly.

“Uh, hey Chuck, are you having any trouble with the geometry homework?” I asked him, beginning to pull out my textbook from my bag.

“No, uh, I actually wanted to ask you something.” Chuck stopped me.“I was wondering if, maybe you’d like to uh, go to homecoming with me?”
I froze again, taken back at his question.

“Me?“I looked around the room as if he may be confusing me with someone else.

“Yeah, you.” Chuck confirmed, chuckling a bit.

“Uh, o-ok, yeah, I’ll go with you.” I blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. I didn’t see the harm in saying yes, he was a nice guy, and it wasn’t like anybody else would ever ask me.

“Great! Uh, are you free tomorrow? Maybe we could meet up after school and hang out or something?” Chuck offered.

“Alright, yeah, I can do that.”

“Cool, I’ll see you then.” Chuck grinned, walking back to his group of friends.
——————

“Hey, Juggie.” I smiled warmly at my friend, sliding in to the booth next to him. I laid my head on his shoulder, his screen open as he typed.

“Hey, y/n.” Jughead pressed a quick kiss to the top of my head before returning his attention to his novel.

“How was your day?” I asked him, looping my arm around his and scooting closer to cuddle in to his side.

“Oh, same old same old.Nothing interesting.” Jughead hummed, leaning his head against mine. Jughead wasn’t huge on showing affection in public, but he put up with me always cuddling in to his side.“How was yours?”

"Well, it was…interesting, to say the least."I sighed, taking a sip of the Jughead’s root beer.

"How so?”

“Well, Chuck Clayton asked me to homecoming.”

I felt Jughead tense before looking down at me with a shocked look on his face.

“What did you say?”

“I said sure.” I shrugged, taking another sip of his root beer.

“Are you feeling alright?” Jughead placed his hand over my forehead, as if he was checking to see if I had a fever. I swatted his hands away and slid over to the opposite booth seat.

"Quit it, Jug."I warned.

"This is a big deal!"Jughead fired, his hands waving wildly.

"It’s not!” I shot back.

"It’s the captain of the football team!”

"And?”

And?Y/n, he’s only one of the biggest players at our whole school!You know about The Playbook!”

“Jughead, that’s just a silly rumor."I argued.Jughead slammed his laptop shut.

"I can’t believe you’re actually going to go to homecoming with that….that….that imbecile!”

Jughead!Just because “that imbecile” is on the football team, doesn’t make him a bad person!“ I stood up, grabbing my backpack.

"Wait, y/n."Jughead reached for my wrist but I pulled away.

"I won’t be here tomorrow, I’m seeing Chuck after school.“ I paced out of the diner, ignoring Jughead’s protests.
——————–
I hadn’t talk to Jughead all day, or Betty, or Veronica.The girls, Jughead, and Kevin seemed to be on some kind of mission, and I wasn’t going to talk to them anyways. I was sure Jughead told them all about Chuck asking me to homecoming.

When school was over, I waited in the library, where Chuck had texted me, asking me to meet up with him. I sat at a table in the corner, working on a book report until he showed. 10 minutes passed, which turned in to 20, then 30, then an hour, and I soon realized that I had been stood up. I gathered all my stuff and compiled it in to my backpack neatly, before zipping it up and swinging it over my shoulder. I pushed the bridge of my glasses up my nose and began to make my way out of the library. Jughead was going to gloat in all of his glory when I told him about what happened.

As I turned opened the door of the library, cold liquid was thrown in my face, drenching my front from head to toe. I gasped loudly, my eyes burning as I wiped the slush-like substance from my face.

"How’s your slushie, freak?!” I opened my eyes to Reggie holding a slushie cup, with about 5 or 6 guys laughing at m, one of them being Chuck.One of the jocks was holding a phone, recording the whole scene.

“Do you really think Chuck would ever ask a weirdo like you to homecoming?"One of the jocks laughed.

"News flash, nobody would ask you out even if you were the last girl on earth, you frigid bitch.”I looked at Chuck, hurt in my eyes.Chuck just smiled, before opening his mouth.

“Don’t take it too personal, y/n, it’s just-” Chuck kicked off the wall he was leaning against, strolling over to me.He leaned down so he was eye level to me."Nobody would ever waste their time on you.You’re not worth it.”

I shoved past Chuck, tears falling down my face. I ran down the hallways of the school, shoving the front doors open and running home as fast as I could.I swung my front door open, running past my mom and up the stairs.I heard my mother shout for me, but I just wanted to take a shower and crawl in to a hole and die.

I stripped off all my clothes and got in, rinsing the sticky drink out of my hair. After I was finished, I threw on some comfy clothes and wrapped a blanket around me, sitting on the edge of my bed.

“Honey.” My mom knocked on my door, opening it slowly.“You’ve gotta get ready, the football game is soon.” She took one look at me and knew something was wrong, sitting next to me on my bed.“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?"My mom rubbed my back soothingly.I fessed up, telling her everything, from yesterday when Chuck asked me out, to Jughead and I’s fight, to the slushie incident.

"Oh honey, I’m so so sorry."My mom pulled me in to her chest, embracing me tightly."If you don’t wanna go tonight, I completely understand.” My mom ran her fingers through my hair while my tears stained her shirt.

“No, I have to go, I promised Josie I’d sing with her tonight.” I wiped away my tears, taking a deep breath and calming myself down. After a few more minutes and my mom making promises to call the principal and “kick Chuck where the sun don’t shine”, she left my room so I could get ready for tonight.

I threw on the outfit I was wearing tonight and grabbed my coat, setting it on my bed with my purse and doing my hair.I did only a little bit of makeup, enough to cover up the fact that I had cried alone in my room for 3 hours, and then I slipped on my boots and went downstairs.

Archie was sat on my couch, swinging his keys around his finger. I loved on the other side of Betty, so he always offered to drive me to games, since he would be heading there anyways.

“Hey, Arch.” I smiled. Archie looked at me sadly before getting up and hugging me tightly.

“Okay, who died.” I joked, hugging my friend back.

“I know what Chuck did to you.” Archie whispered. My fingers clenched around the fabric of his varsity jacket.

“It’s okay.” I moved away so I could look at Archie.“Arch, it’s ok.”

“It’s not ok, it’s-” Archie began to yell and I caught his face in my hands, turning him to look at me.

“I’m.Ok.See?” I stood back and twirled a bit.“ No bumps, no bruises, just a stupid boy who thought he could get to me.” He had gotten to me, but I wasn’t going to let Archie, or anyone for that matter, know.

“Alright, well, Jughead and Betty are doing stuff for the blue and gold with Veronica and Kevin. They said they would meet us at the game, so…”

“Alright, well let’s get going!” I hugged my mom goodbye before leaving out my front door and climbing in to Mr. Andrews truck.
—————–
It was the third quarter of the game and the rest of my friends still hadn’t shown up, contrary to what Archie had told me earlier. I had long since performed on stage with Josie and was sitting alone on the bleachers.
“Wow, you’re pathetic!” A girl called out to me, laughing with her friend while she pointed at her phone. I saw a video playing of me getting slushied, except on a loop, and Chuck’s words repeating in the background.

Nobody would ever waste their time on you
You’re not worth it
You’re not worth it
You’re not worth it

I stood from the bleachers, running down the steps as fast as I could. Apparently, Chuck humiliating me in front of half the football team wasn’t enough?

I started hyperventilating, feeling everybody’s eyes on me as phones started to beep, the same video being sent to the whole school. People started laughing and whispering as they looked at me and I couldn’t stop myself from bursting in to tears.My vision was blurred and I started to feel trapped in a hole that was just getting smaller, and smaller, and smal-

“Y/n!"Somebody gripped my shoulders tightly, and I saw Veronica standing in front of me. she looked at me with concern on her face, her eyebrows raised as if looking for answers.

"Chuck…he…he…oh god, Ronnie, the whole school knows.” I wrapped my arms around her neck, collapsing in to her arms.

“Shhh, I know, I know.” Ronnie hugged me back, running her hand down my hair gently to calm me down as my body racked with sobs.

“We gotta go, ok? I don’t think Kevin can hold off Jughead much longer, and-”

“Wait, what?” I gave her the concerned look this time.

Listen, the reason we’re late is because we found the playbook.Its real, and it’s got almost every girl in it, you and I the newest victims.”

“Who put you in it?"I asked her.

"Chuck and I went on a date last night, and he sticky mapled me."Veronica explained.

"Sticky maple? What’s a sticky Ma-”

“Listen, I can tell you all about it later, but right now w-”

“We gotta go, like, now, Jughead is pissed.” Betty came running up the stairs.“I’ve never seen him like this, like, ever.”I followed Betty and Veronica down the bleachers, to the football fence where Kevin stood, his back facing us and his hands wrapped tightly around Jughead’s shoulders.Jughead himself looked like a raging bull seeing red, his nostrils flaring and his jaw clenched.When he saw me, he shoved Kevin out of the way, jogging towards me.

“Why didn’t you tell me what happened right away?!?!” Jughead cried.His palms went to my cheeks, wiping away the tears still falling down my face.

“I-I don’t know, we had gotten in to a fight, and I had left it off bad, and I-”

“Y/n, it’s ok, it’s ok, alright?I’m always here for you, always, I-”

“Well, well, well, looks like you can’t keep the freaks away from each other.Let me guess, it was you that helped him hide the body, right, weirdo?” Chuck leaned against the fence, helmet resting between his hip and forearm.

Jughead wrapped his hands around my shoulders and moved me gently so I wasn’t in front of him anymore before walking calmly up to Chuck, pulling his arm back, and clocking Chuck right in the jaw. Chuck went tumbling down, falling on his ass.

“Hey, freak show, wanna tussle?” Reggie came marching over, seeing the commotion.

“Listen, we all know you get your sexist views from the 50’s, but can you not use their lingo too? It kinda makes you look like a-"Reggie punched Jughead and I gasped. Jughead wiped the blood now coming from his mouth, spitting the rest at Reggie’s feet.

A tool.” Jughead finished.

Reggie shoved Jughead and I came running forward, trying to block Reggie from Jughead. Reggie pushed me out of the way and I fell on my back.Jughead was already knocking his fists in to Reggie’s face, Reggie trying to block him. I began to go in again and was lifted in the air by Chuck, being thrown over his shoulder.

“Time to take out the trash!“Chuck laughed, hauling me off.I started screaming and thrashing in his arms, kicking my legs and waving my arms.

"Put her down!” Veronica screamed, shoving Chuck’s chest. Chuck pushed her down and Betty yelped, running over to help Ronnie up.

Archie began pulling Reggie off of Jughead, and he turned around to see me thrown over Chuck’s shoulder.Jug ran towards Chuck, doing anything he could to grab me from his arms.He kicked Chuck in the stomach, which caused him to stumble backward, and took the opportunity to grab me from his arms and pulling me away from Chuck.

“You’re fucking insane!” Chuck screamed.

“Says the one who tried to haul off with y/n!” Betty screamed back. Betty, Jughead, Kevin, and Archie now stood protectively around Veronica and I.

“What the hell is going on?” Principal Weatherbee hollered from the football field gate, Coach Clayton and the Mayor behind him.

“Chuck, you are in serious trouble!” The coach spoke to his son in a loud tone.

“Dad, they were the ones who-”

“Son, I know about the playbook.” The coach interrupted.“ And I’ve seen the video of what you did to that poor girl.Come on!” The coach grabbed Reggie and Chuck by the shoulders, dragging them back inside the football field and towards the school.The mayor and principal Weatherbee followed.
—————–
After the whole commotion at the game, Archie was benched, because he had a bloody nose after the fight with Reggie. Jughead had it way worse, a black eye now adorning the right side of his face and a swollen lip, as well as a busted nose to match that of his best friends. He had a few cuts and bruises on his upper body, but nothing a little first aid couldn’t help.

Jughead now stood in front of me in his pajamas. Archie had drove everyone back to Betty’s, and I immediately dragged Jughead to my house to clean him up while the girls and Kevin set up an impromptu movie night/sleepover to make up for the shitty events earlier on in the night.

“You’ve been eerily silent."Jughead broke the silence as I wiped the cut on his chin with hydrogen peroxide.Jughead hissed at the discomfort.

"I’m just-” I sighed, setting down the napkin in the counter next to me.“I’m an idiot.”

“Y/n, you’re not an idiot.”

“I should have listened to you though.You were right about Chuck and I still went through with it anyways and-” I trailed off, not wanting to relive this afternoon.

“As much as I love hearing you say I was right.” Jughead smiled proudly. “What you need to know is that, everything Chuck said about you is a lie.”

“It’s wasn’t, Jug, he was right."I shook my head, beginning to cry once more.

"No, y/n, don’t say that.” Jughead rested his hands on the counter by either side of my thighs, capturing me in his lean and firm frame.I looked up at him, my eyes red and puffy.

“Jughead, I’m not worth it. None of this was worth it. You getting a black eye and a busted lip and a bloody nose wasn’t worth it!I’m pathetic! I’m a freak, I’m-” I waved my hands around wildly, and Jughead caught my wrists with my hands, holding on to them firmly but gently.

“Hey, hey, hey!” Jughead spoke softly, yet loud enough to get my attention.I stopped, looking at him.“You are worth it, ok? In my mind, in my..my everything, you’re worth it.You have always been worth it and you always will be worth it.” Jughead’s hands went around my cheeks, his thumbs stroking the sides of my face lovingly.

And then I was kissing Jughead.

My fingers were tangled in his hair, his beanie cap knocked off and long forgotten on the tile floor somewhere, his arms pulling me flush to his body. My legs wrapped around his waist, pulling him even closer, and the only time we stopped was to catch our breath for a second before kissing again.

A muffled shout was heard and I tore away from Jughead, to see the girls standing at Betty’s kitchen window, their phones in hand, taking pictures of us. Archie appeared behind them, two thumbs up being thrown in the air.

“We have an audience.” I hid my face in the crook of his neck, my nervous laughs muffled.

“I noticed.” Jughead flipped them off and they giggled, shutting the curtains quickly.

“When we get over there, they’re in for it.” Jughead mumbled, dipping his head back down to kiss me again.

Bad Woman - Motörhead

“Sam?!” Dean whispered as he stalked around the old cabin. Sam and Dean had been separated outside by something, and Sam was out in the woods somewhere.

The cabin was dark, dank, and no one good had stayed there in years. This witch was supposedly here, but it was quiet, very quiet, and the witch was still nowhere to be found.

That was until Dean tripped a wire, and the witch burst through the doors, absolutely pissed that her home - if you could call it that - was being invaded. By a hunter nonetheless. The witch held out her arms, flinging Dean across the room. He hit the fireplace before hitting the floor.

“Bitch.” He groaned as he rolled around, trying to stand up. He held up his gun to shoot, but it wasn’t his gun that went off. He jumped at the sound of another gun shooting and the sight of the witch falling to the floor.

“Sam?” he stepped forward and looked around, thinking it must have been his brother that shot the witch. But as he rounded the corner, he was surprised to see you standing there.

“Hey, uh, thanks.” Dean said as he rubbed the back of his neck, taking you in. You were gorgeous. Long flowy y/h/c hair, striking y/e/c eyes, paired with skinny jeans, knee high boots, and a leather jacket zipped up just enough to give Dean a nice look at your cleavage.

“Don’t thank me,” you spat out, “I wasn’t trying to save you. That witch bitch just needed killing.”

Dean was taken aback at how cold your words were. He thought you must’ve been one of those mean, loner hunters him and Sam came across sometimes. But there was something different about you.

He looked you up and down, his eyes trailing across every curve on your body.

“Ugh, fuck you.” you spat out before you raised your gun and shot him, the bullet just grazing his arm and knocking him on his ass. You didn’t take well to being gawked at.

BTS reaction to you singing their songs in the shower

Jin:

Jin would just laugh at you. You’d be in the shower, so he’d just be there waiting for you. Making dinner or just relaxing after a long day until he heard some noises from the shower. He’d walk over, put his ear to the door and listen. When he heard you singing some BTS songs, he’d start to giggle. “Make sure you don’t get any soap in your mouth while singing, silly!”

Yoongi:

Like Jin, he’d just start to laugh when he heard you. He was waiting for you to get done since he had to shower as well. Yoongi went to knock on the door to find out what was taking so long to hear you singing. Not just singing some random song, you’d be singing Bangtan songs. He would laugh as he heard the passionate mumbles to the rap parts. He’d open up the door to scare you then just burst into laughter. “Don’t stop singing because of me, babe. Keep going.” He’d chuckle.

He would think it was the cutest thing ever. He heard some noises from the bathroom and only two things popped into his head. you either got hurt or were doing something he could help with. He hurried up to the bathroom to find you singing some BTS songs. Hobi would burst through the door, start dancing and singing into a hair brush loudly. “OH YEAH-!!! DUET TIME BABY”!“

Namjoon would think it’s adorable and pretty relaxing. He heard you singing some of their songs so he sat outside the bathroom door, trying to take in all he could of your voice from over the muffled water. He’d close his eyes until you opened the door, scaring him. He would jump and his face would be red. "I-I wasn’t listening or anything! Well… maybe I was. You just have a really nice voice, baby girl.”

Jimin would hear you singing along to one of their songs a mile away. Your speaker was pretty loud, so when you sang along with it, your voice got louder without you even realizing. He would hurry and pull his phone out to record it sneakily. Once you were done and came downstairs, he would play it and sing along with it. “I got it recorded, jagi! And there’s nothing you can do about it!”

He would think it was adorable as soon as he heard their music come from the bathroom. The speaker was loud so it could be heard through the door. Tae would stand outside the door, listening to your voice sing flawlessly. Then he would start loudly singing on the other side of the door with you. Once the song was over, he’d laugh. “That was like a movie scene, wasn’t it~!?”

Jungkook would think it’s precious. He would hear you sing BTS songs at the top of your lungs and start to laugh. He would peak in the bathroom to listen better. He would laugh a bit more and smile. Kookie would start to harmonize with you and laugh super hard when you jumped. “Ah! Did I scare you, babe~? Oops!”

  • everyone in a 10 mile radius: because you’re the cutest boy in the world what kind of question is that
  • and jimin loves bright colors,,,,i think he’d have lots of yellow in his house,,,,,,like yellow curtains in his kitchen and yellow slippers,,,,,idk why he just seems like he’d want to have a really lively aesthetic going on
  • and he’d be neat ,,,, and would love having people over like he’d meet someone and in a day be like “you should come over sometime ^^” like he’s just a nice open person,,,,,,,it’s so refreshing
  • but he’s also a little shy around those he likes romantically which is why jimin always gets stuttery around you when you see him in the mornings and you’re like “hi!!!” and he’s like “h,,,hello,,,” and you always think he must be scared of you or something because he isn’t as upbeat and as talkative with you as he is with the other neighbors
  • and that makes you a bit upset,,,,,so you decide that you’re gonna prove that you’re a good neighbor by baking him a cake,,,,,,,,,the only problem is: you cannot bake
  • and when you’re done, and you’re sure you followed the recipe correctly, you can’t help but look at the cake as it’s slowly falling apart and you’re like,,,,,,,,,,,,this isn’t going to work,,,he’s going to think i hate him or something wlrgjsa
  • so you go out and you buy a cake instead and you knock on his door and when jimin opens it he’s like ,,,,,very surprised to see you and you’re like
  • “i know we don’t talk much,,,,and that’s rude of me neighbors should get to know each other so i made this,,,,,,,as a welcoming gift???”
  • and jimin is like “ive,,,ive lived here for over a year” and you’re like i k NOW,,,,,,i just,,,,,,,here
  • and jimin takes it, his face gone completely red and he’s like thank,,,,,,thank,,,,,tha-thank you
  • and you’re like are you ok??? you’re redder than a lobster
  • and jimin is like iM FINE,,,,,,,,,,do,,,,,,do you wanna,,,,,,,,,,eat this with me,,,,,,
  • and you two end up sitting awkwardly at jimin’s dining table and jimin hands you a slice of cake with shakey hands and you’re like,,,,,,he seems so scared of me what do i do
  • and suddenly you’re like “im,,,,,,,im not mean” and jimin is like ????? and you’re like “i always think that you dislike me,,,,,but really im nice!! i think,,,,,,did i do something to scare you???” and jimin is like “nO,,,,,,nO,,,,,,it’s not that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,”
  • and he looks down and tries to distract himself with eating cake but then he’s like “wait- is this,,,,,,,,,,,is this from,,,,,,the store down the block?” and you’re FRICK im caught and you’re like sorry i tried to bake one but,,,,,it came out bad so i bought one
  • and jimin is like you did all of this for me??? and you’re like YEAH i don’t want us to be neighbors that are cold with each other,,,,,,
  • and jimin kind of smiles sadly and he’s like “just neighbors,,,,right”
  • and you’re like wait,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,do you,,,,,,,,do you want something more
  • and jimin is like WHAT WHO SAID THAT UM THIS CAKE IS THE BEST MY FAVORITE FLAVOR OF CAKE YUM
  • and you’re looking at him,,,,,,realizing slowly that the redness in his face isn’t because he’s sick,,,,,,,,but omg park jimin has a c r u s h on you

Taehyung

  • the neighbor who you see at really odd hours of the night,,,,,like,,,,,,why is only getting home at 4 am???? is he ordering pizza at 8am???? what is his schedule
  • would own like 40 dogs but the building has a no pets policy and it’s killing taehyung,,,,,,,,,he literally has to go over to his friends houses who have pets to get his daily dose of cuddling puppies otherwise he’ll get depressed
  • the neighbors who have had a chance to speak with him all think he’s very,,,,,,,laidback and more than likely you’ll see him hanging around in the parking lot of the building skateboarding around or playing with strays that he feeds
  • and his own apartment is full of second-hand furniture he got from his parents and friends and he has posters up of like classic horror movies that are like peeling off the wall
  • and he used to play music outloud,,,but people would complain so he switched to just playing it through his headphones and pretending to like air guitar on his sofa
  • and speaking of which,,,,,,he actually doesn’t have a bed because he was like what’s the point i can sleep on my couch or on my beanbag or on the floor,,,,,,,,taehyung literally doesn’t care is what im trying to say
  • his bedroom is just bookshelves (which are falling apart) full off old toys and cds and skateboards pilled up and baseball caps
  • but it somehow manages not to be messy,,,,just kind of like very down-to-earth like him
  • and you know taehyung likes animals you’ve seen him wear shirts with dog faces like one five different occasions also he once rescued a kitten that was getting picked on by younger kids
  • and so when the landlord says she’ll be coming around to chat with you in your apartment about your new air conditioner you’re like “i need to hide my baby,,,,my angel,,,,,,,,my cat,,,,,,Mr. Tubs”
  • and you knock on taehyungs door hoping he’ll answer and to your relief he does,,,,,,,and you’re pretty sure there’s a noddle stuck to his cheek but you’re like “hey hey i know we don’t talk much but the landlord is coming up in five minutes and i need you to hide Mr. Tubs for me”
  • and taehyung is like whose Mr. Tubs and you like hand him the duffel bag and your cats head peeks out and you’re like “qUICK go inside ill be back in half an hour to get him”
  • and taehyung is standing there with your cat in a bag as he watches you run off
  • and he looks down and he’s like “hey Mr. Tubs” and your cat is like,,,meow who are you jokes jokes
  • but yes after you talk with the landlord you’re back to see taehyung and when you knock on the door you realize it’s open and when you step inside you see taehyung sitting on the floor of his living room, Mr. Tubs peacefully napping in his lap and you’re like,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my cat likes him better than he likes me is taehyung Magical
  • and you’re like “heY hope Mr. Tubs wasn’t too much!!!!” and taehyung is like “your cat is awesome” and you’re like thank,,,,,you
  • and taehyung is like “do you think you can let him stay here,,,,,while he naps,,,,,,he’s just so nice” and you’re like ok they really did bond in this half hour
  • and you’re like “sure,,,,,,,,,,um,,,,,ill,,,,,go?” and taehyung’s like “no, you can stay if you want we can play like monopoly or something”
  • and you pull out the old board game from under a pile of what looks like notebooks and stuff and you open it and like half the pieces are missing but it’s whatever you and taehyung have a good time anyway
  • and he makes you laugh??? and like he’s so comfortable to be around because he’s so easy going
  • and you’re like ‘you skate right??’ and he’s like not well but you’re like pfft please id love to learn and taehyung’s like “yo ill teach you”
  • and you kind of blush a bit because he smiles so wide and he’s actually really handsome??? and before you know it two hours has gone by and Mr. Tubs wakes up only to walk from taehyungs lap and plop down into yours
  • and you’re like “ill take this rascal back home now,,,,so he can sleep in his bed and not on my neighbors” and taehyung laughs but he’s like bring him over again anytime and hey,,,,,,,tomorrow at 7 are you free?
  • and you’re like pm??? and taehyung is like no am and you’re like what who wakes up that early tomorrow is sunday and taehyung is like “well it’s a good time for me to teach you how to skate ^^”
  • and gdi you’re actually agreeing to get up early on a weekday because hey,,,,,,,,,,he is really cute,,,,,,,,,,

Jungkook

  • don’t even try to argue with me on this: jungkook collects actions figures and anime figures and those little nintendo figures,,,,,,,,,you know what i mean
  • has them like displayed on a shelf above his computer and gets really excited about packages because you guessed it: it’s a new figure
  • like he doesn’t have a bunch, he just gets the ones that are like of his favorite characters and also,,,,,,,,he seems like the type to own the soundtracks from his favorite games
  • and other than that,,,,,,like nothing matters to him
  • like he’s got his computer for gaming, and his bed for sleeping what else is there to life
  • uses his living room as a closet really like the armchair has clothes piled up on it and comic books
  • he eats at a low table that he forgets to clean so when jin comes over he’s like “jungkook. look at this. look at these crumbs”
  • jungkook: “listen,,,,,,,mom”
  • jin: “what did you say?”
  • jungkook: “nothing i said i was gonna go get napkins to clean off the crumbs,,,,,,,”
  • and the neighbors all think he’s cute and some1 once asked him if he was still in high school and jungkook was like,,,,,no,,,,,,,,,i graduated and the person was like oh my i thought you were 16
  • and jungkook wasn’t sure if he should be flattered or,,,,,,,
  • but also he kind of keeps to himself so he doesn’t have a lot of close friends in his building and you and him don’t really speak but one day,,,,you end up with a strange package at your door
  • and at first you think it’s that rice cooker you bought but when you open it you pull out this figure and you’re like wtf is a sasuke uchiha
  • and then you’re like,,,,,,,,,,,wait this isn’t mine
  • and you see jungkooks name on the box and you’re like SHIT I OPENED MY NEIGHBORS MAIL THAT’S A CRIME
  • so you quickly try to put some tape on it and make it look untouched but it’s so obvious you ripped it open but you’re like maybe,,,,,,maybe he won’t be mad he seems like a nice dude
  • so you take the package and you ring his doorbell and jungkooks like ??? and you’re like “this is,,,,,,,,yours,,,,,,,,i accidentally opened it but,,,,,,,,,,,,,i swear i didn’t break anything!!!!! sasuke is alright!!!”
  • and jungkook is like “god bless sasuke is alright” and you’re like “he looks cool is he from a game?”
  • and wow you know when you ask people who are super passionate about something and their eyes light up WELL
  • and before you know it you’re standing there listening to the subplot of naruto and sasuke’s rivalry and you’re like,,,,,,what is happening but
  • jungkook looks so adorable listing off his favorite episodes that you’re like you know what whatever let’s talk about this
  • and jungkook asks you if you’re into any games/movies/shows and you’re like YEAH i have a few favorites
  • and you two are totally bonding in the hallway over geeky stuff but then you’re also like
  • “you’ve been holding that box up for like the last 45 minutes doesn’t your hand hurt??”
  • and jungkook is like “nah, i work out look!”
  • and he rolls up his sleeve innocently to show you his muscles and you’re like WOAH WHAT
  • and jungkook is like teehee my hyungs call me the ‘hulk’ isn’t that cute?? and you’re like ,,,,,,,,,,,ok he’s adorable but he’s also strong but he’s also funny but he’s also swole,,,,,,,,huh,,,,,,perfect dare i say,,,,,,,,,bf material

Never Have I Ever

“Never have I ever been to Taco Bell.” Every other player except Ethan put down a finger.

“What??” Mark yelled in response, causing Ethan to flinch. “How have you never had Taco Bell?”

“I just haven’t,” Ethan explained with a small laugh. Mark just shook his head in disappointment and let the game continue. He was really just upset that he was losing. Ethan still had up 5 fingers, Ty had 6 left, but Mark was down to 2.

“Never have I ever dated a guy,” Tyler said. Ethan and Ty both left up all fingers while Mark was forced to put one down.

“It was for a month!” Mark said angrily, causing the other two boys to laugh. “Fine, you wanna be a dick, two can play at that game! Never have I ever had a kidney transplant!”

“You fucking dick,” Ty muttered under his breath while putting down a finger. Mark just gave him a sly smirk before gesturing to Ethan to continue the game.

“Never have I ever had a crush on a YouTuber,” Eth said with a sly smile, knowing he was knocking Mark out of the game.

“You fucking bitch! Fuck you!” Mark yelled at Ethan. It was all in good fun, which meant Eth was busting up laughing at how angry the older man got. Mark got up and went to the kitchen to grab some snacks, leaving Eth and Ty to finish the game. Eth looked at Ty waiting for him to take his turn when he noticed something odd.

“Ty, don’t you have 5 fingers left? You were beating me,” Eth asked confused.

“Well I WAS a minute ago,” Ty replied, joking condescension clear in his voice.

“What? Oh wait, you…wait a fucking minute!” Eth said, not understanding at first.

“Shut up Eth,” Ty said, knowing where the conversation was heading.

“You’ve had a crush on a YouTuber?? What? When? Who? Why didn’t I know this? Do I know them?” Ethan rambled on until Ty covered his mouth with his rather large hands.

“Eth, if you don’t stop talking, I will shove a peanut down your throat,” Ty threatened before letting his grip loosen and removing his hand.

“We don’t even have any peanuts in the house you big bully,” Ethan said with mock sadness, putting on his best sad puppy dog face, to which Tyler just rolled his eyes and laughed. “But really, you have to tell me.”

“I’m not telling you,” Ty said firmly, but smiling.

“But Tyyllleeeeeeerrrrrrr,” Ethan drew out the name while clinging on to his arm, “You have to tell me!”

“I’m not telling you!” Ty said again, a little more forcefully. “It’s really nothing anyways, no big deal.”

“It’s? as in It IS? As in CURRENT?” Eth asked.

“No, I mean…it wasn’t…or…it is? I don’t even know,” Ty replied sounding exasperated.

“Well do you like them or not?” Ethan asked in a more serious tone. He really wanted to help his friend sort out his feelings.

Ty glanced up at Ethan for a second, making eye contact with the blue boy before answering, “Yeah. I really think I like him. A lot.”

Eth felt a blush creeping up on his cheeks. He knew Ty wasn’t talking about him, but either way, he still could hold on to that last shred of hope of Ty returning his feelings. “Well then maybe you should just go for it. Message them and ask them to go get dinner sometime or something,” Eth offered his advice. “Do they live around here? I guess I should have asked that before saying you should get dinner,” he added awkwardly.

“Yeah, they live pretty close by. You think I should go for it?” Ty asked, sounding more insecure than Eth had ever heard him say.

“Definitely,” Ethan said. He really wanted Ty to find someone, even if it meant Ty didn’t return his feelings.

“I think I will. I’ll message him right now.” Ty said, picking up his phone. That seemed to be the end of that conversation, so Ethan stood up and headed downstairs to the living room where he found Mark watching TV. He sat down on the couch and pulled out his phone to check twitter when he noticed a text.

‘Hey, I think you’re pretty cute. Wanna have dinner sometime? -Ty :)’

Ethan couldn’t help but blush and chuckle a bit to himself before sending a reply.

‘Get down here you doof so I can kiss you <3’

I know this is a pretty cliche storyline, but oh well. I didn’t see one for this ship so I figured might as well. Hope you liked it!

The small cottage is unusually silent when you wake up. The fire has stopped crackling, wooden logs turned black sitting idly in a heap on the fireplace. There’s no wind, and even the permanently broken window frame has ceased its constant tapping against the wall. A large layer of frost is covering the window now, seeping through the cracks in the glass, tiny ice crystals spreading over the wall next to your bed.

You’ve spent four days locked inside the house, always under the watchful eye of the other girls you share the cottage with, towering over you at all times of the day to make sure nothing strange is going on. Everyone’s been especially paranoid since you came back, not letting you out of their sight for a second, so the girl’s absence only serves to make you uneasy. They wouldn’t have left you unless something bad happened, not when the winter has every single person on edge, and dread builds in your gut when you find your iron tipped knives gone from the bedside table.

Something is wrong, you think, something is terribly, horribly wrong. And you can almost feel it in the air now, like static ready to snap at any second.

I knock at the huge front door of the Dempsey’s while straightening out my top. A couple of seconds later and the door swings open and a pleasantly surprised Zach Dempsey stands in front of me. His eyes were opened wide in shock.

“Well this is a nice surprise!” Zach exclaims as he pulls me in for a hug then kisses the crown of my head.

“I thought you were doing something today, babe? What brings you here?” he continues to ask as he takes a piece of hair away from my face and pushes it behind my ear.

“Oh, I’m not here for you.” I reply as I pinch both of his cheeks.

“I’m here for your sister. I promised her that we’ll go out together today.” I add.

“Aww, that’s great babe! I’ll just get changed for a minute and come back down then.” he replies but before he could leave, I grab his wrist and laugh.

Don’t Take A Picture

a zimbits alternate meeting au inspired by || ~4k words || ao3

Jack’s appreciating the serenity the empty street offers him tonight after a harsh loss earlier. He should be in bed, really. Sleeping, preferably. But when his brain is going in circles the way it is…

He likes the cool air on his skin. He likes the way the streetlights hit the pavement and then fade away. He likes the smell of the river on the gentle breeze.

He becomes aware that someone else is on the street with him. Walking towards him with a phone out, held aloft and pointing to where he sits on the bench.

He sighs out and looks away, hoping he’ll be ignored.

The person stops walking. He can hear the silence following the stop of their tread-tread-tread on the pavement.

It happens, and he gets it, truly. People like to have proof that they saw him, even if they saw him doing something as ordinary as sitting at night by the water.

He looks back over, then away quickly. The man’s phone is still out.

Jack’s known for being courteous with fans, but tonight he’s not in the mood.

“It’s been a bad day.” He doesn’t raise his voice. It’ll cut across the dark easily. “Please. Don’t take a picture.”

He feels crappy about saying it but he’s learnt that sometimes, you have to put yourself first.

The man looks behind him, as if in doubt Jack was talking to him when there’s clearly no-one else around. The man lowers his phone but doesn’t put it away.

“Sorry.”

Jack can’t make out much beyond the silhouette. The stranger is back lit, having stepped almost beyond the ring of the nearest streetlight.

“I, uh… wasn’t taking a photo though.”

Jack knows what people look like when they’re trying to be subtle about capturing a picture of him. He knows what they look like when it’s blatant, too.

“You don’t have to lie,” Jack says, with some hardness in his tone, his exhaustion having thinned his conversational filter.

“I wasn’t,” the man answers, with a bit of bite.

Jack looks away from the man, unconvinced.

“Sir, I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable that I—”

“It’s fine, just—” Jack sighs out again. “Sorry I said anything. You should go to wherever you’re heading.”

“Actually,” the man starts, then cuts himself off with a hand to his mouth.

“I’m…” The man bites his lip, then shakes his head. “Actually, yes. You’re right. I’ll just…” he points in the direction he was heading earlier.

Jack watches him as he walks by, noting that he’s still gripping his phone tightly. He glances at Jack as he passes, and Jack realises the man is older than he thought, having based his guess on voice and stature.

Jack watches until the figure has walked past the next streetlight, before he turns back to watch the lazy movement of the water. He breathes in deep, holds it, lets it out again, trying to find his earlier appreciation for the night. In, hold, out. In, hold, out.

It’s not working. He sighs out and stands up, stretching out his back before resigning himself to walking back to his apartment and trying to find sleep.

He hasn’t gone far at all, just around the next corner, when he comes across someone. He realises very quickly that it’s the same man from earlier that night. Again, he’s on his phone, tapping repetitively at his screen.

Jack frowns and crosses the street so he doesn’t have to walk by him directly. When he gets close enough though, a sound carries through the night.

Crying.

Jughead x reader in which she is painfully shy and he knows she likes him (partly inspired by this post) ((also, jughead is just the tiniest bit ooc)).

~~~
You had been best friends with Betty Cooper for as long as anyone could remember. You had met when you were six years old and had both been fighting over the last available swing.
From that moment on, your friendship grew. But where Betty grew in a sweet, confident girl, you grew into a shy, introverted girl who didn’t talk to anyone except for Betty.
Which is the reason why Betty was the only one who knew about your crush on Jughead.
You had been crushing on Jughead since 6th grade when he helped you stand up to Cheryl. That was the year when you became shy and reserved, so you were surprised to see that you had developed a crush on Jughead, seeing as you tended to avoid everyone.
Flash forward four years and you were still pining over the beanie-clad boy.
Betty had suspected something for a while and had finally confronted you about it. You had been sitting in a booth at Pop’s, vehemently denying the existence of your “supposed” crush but Betty knew you were lying and eventually forced it out of you.
“You should definitely tell him (Y/N),” Betty had said, ecstatic.
You had shaken your head. “No Betty. I can’t even talk to the guy. Besides there’s no way that he’d like me. Never in a million years!”
Betty had glanced behind you before gesturing for you to turn around. Jughead had just walked in. He looked around, his eyes stopping once they met yours, making you blush and turn around as he smirked.
You turned around and sank into your seat as he made his way over to your table.
“Hey Betty, (Y/N),” Jughead greeted as he slid in next to you.
Betty greeted him as you turned your attention to the table, mindlessly tracing patterns with your fingers and blushing every time his thigh brushed against yours.
You couldn’t speak around anyone who wasn’t Betty. Especially not him. So you sat in silence the rest of the time, not noticing the glances that Jughead would sneak at you ever five minutes.
~~~

“I’m telling you Ronnie! It’s hopeless. She won’t even look at him!” Betty exclaimed as she sat with Veronica at Pop’s the next day.

Veronica pursed her lips as she stirred her milkshake with her straw. “Wait, you’re telling me (Y/N) willingly told you she has a crush on Jughead?”

Betty looked down at her fries and blushed. “Well…I may have forced it out of her,” she paused at Veronica’s harsh look. “But I swear that girl has a crush on him. Its killing me to not see her do anything about it.”

Both girls froze as someone jumped over the booth and sat down between them.

“So,” Jughead started. “(Y/N) likes me?”

Betty gulped. She was so dead.

~~~
Over the next few days, you found out a multitude of things.
You found out that you could actually get along very well with Veronica, especially once she started spending so much time around you and Betty that you had no choice but to befriend her. You didn’t stutter around her, and you could carry on normal conversations with her now.
Another thing you found out was that Betty Cooper was a horrible liar. You already knew this, of course. But for the past week she had been hiding something, and she was giving out horrible excuses to anyone who asked.
The thing that surprised you most however, was that fact that you figured out that Jughead Jones was in fact, a huge flirt.
It had started Monday, when you were walking down the hallway with B & V. Jughead had caught up to you and had thrown his arm over your shoulder, greeting the two girls and then bending to down to whisper a greeting in your ear. You had blushed fiercely, and had barely managed to stutter out a simple ‘hi’ in response. He had walked with you to your class, once again bending down and whispering a quick ‘see you later (Y/N)’ in your ear before walking off.
You had been a blushing mess the entire period, and the knowing looks from B & V weren’t helping.
On Tuesday, Jughead had joined you and Betty at Pop’s after school. Luckily for you, he sat on the opposite side of the booth, typing on his laptop, so you were able to somewhat talk to Betty without any embarrassment. But that didn’t mean you didn’t notice the looks Jughead kept sneaking your way.
You’d finally had enough and when Betty got up to go order another milkshake, you had asked Jughead about it.
“What Jones?” You asked, surprisingly without a stutter. “Why do you keep looking at me?”
“I didn’t realize it was a crime to stare at a beautiful girl,” he had replied smoothly, arching an eyebrow.
By the time Betty came back, you were a blushing mess and you were gathering all your stuff, muttering excuses about having to be home as soon as possible.
“What did you do to the poor girl Juggie?” Betty asked as she watched you walk away.
“Nothing,” Jughead replied, a small smile on his face as he too, watched you leave.
~~~

Wednesday was slightly different. Your routine started out normally, except Jughead spent the whole day around you. He’d walk you to class, arm slung over your shoulder, and sat with you in the student lounge.

You resembled a tomato the whole day. Finally, when you were sitting at your usual lunch table, waiting for Betty to arrive, you broke the silence.

“Jughead, why are you following me around?” you asked.

“A pretty girl shouldn’t be left alone. There’s a murderer on the loose you know,” he replied coolly, not breaking eye contact with you.

“No offense, but there are plenty of better things to do than follow me around,” you scoffed, proud of yourself for being able to keep the conversation going.

“Yeah, but ever since Betty told me you liked me I thought I’d-”

“What?” you cut him off.

He glanced up as Betty arrived. “Yeah. I thought Betty had told you that she told…me.”

You turned to Betty, who was now standing, wide-eyed, as you flushed. This time, in anger.

“Elizabeth Cooper,” you began. “How could you? I trusted you not to tell anyone!”

She opened her mouth to speak. “(Y/N), I-”

“No Betty,” you cut in. “Is this what you’ve been lying about all week?”

Betty stayed silent, looking down at the ground.

“(Y/N) let me explain,” Jughead said.

You turned to him. “Save it Jones. I bet this past week has just been so fun for you, hasn’t it?”

Jughead stared at you, mouth agape, as you gathered up your lunch and left.

“Well she sure isn’t shy when she’s all worked up huh?” Veronica stated as she took a sip of water, all three of them watching you as you stormed off.

~~~
You ignored all messages and calls from both Betty and Jughead, only responding to Veronica to tell her to tell Betty and Jughead to leave you alone.
The next day however, was full of Betty following you around like a lost puppy all day until you agreed to talk with her. Sighing deeply, you gave in.
“(Y/N),” she began. “I swear I never meant to tell him. I will however, accept full responsibility for telling Veronica. I was talking about your crush with her at Pop’s and Jughead overheard. I never meant for it to happen.”
You stared at her, seeing nothing but the truth in her blue eyes. You spread your arms towards her, her face lighting up as she embraced you, knowing you had forgiven her.
“He likes you too y'know,” she whispered in your ear.
“No he doesn’t Betty,” you whispered back.
She pulled away slightly, her eyes focused on something behind you. “Please don’t hate me (Y/N/N),” she whispered again.
“Why would I hate-” your words were cut off as Betty spun you around and pushed you, effectively causing you to crash into someone and go tumbling down, taking the other person down with you.
You sat up, pushing your hair out of your face as you looked down to apologize to the person you had knocked over.
Your words got caught in your throat as you realized you had been pushed into Jughead. Even worse, you had fallen on top of him, and you were now straddling him as he lied beneath you, his hands gripping your waist.
“Well hey there (L/N),” he spoke, a cocky smirk spreading across his face.
You were faintly aware of Betty trying to stifle her giggles in the background as you tried to come up with the wrds to apologize. “Uhhhh J-j-jughead. Hey, I-i-i’m sor-rry,” you finally managed to stutter out.
Jughead’s smirk never left his face. “Hey, no worries, all is forgiven…on one condition.”
You looked at him hesitantly, waiting for his next words.
“Kiss me.”
~~~

“I still can’t believe you actually kissed him!” exclaimed Betty.

“I knew you had it in you,” Veronica said, winking at you.

You slid down in your seat, blushing. School had ended and you, B, & V had decided to go to Pop’s, like always.

“The whole school stopped,” Veronica continued. “Like seriously. Everyone in that hallway stopped and stared when shy little (Y/N) (L/N) gave Jughead Jones a hot, steamy kiss.”

You slid down even further as Betty smacked Veronica’s shoulder, causing the raven-haired girl to laugh.

Veronica finally straightened up and shot a smirk as you before focusing on something behind you. “Hey Jughead, Archie.”

“Oh ha ha Ronnie,” you said, straightening up as well. “Very funny. Embarrass me even more.”

“Hey (Y/N/N),” you heard Jughead’s voice as he sat next to you, sliding his arm around your shoulders and pulling you close.

Veronica gave you a look as if to say ‘see, I wasn’t lying’.

“You gave the school quite a show today,” Jughead continued, sharing a look with Veronica that said that he had heard their previous conversation. “Maybe we could have a repeat?”

And with that, Jughead Jones tilted your chin up, pressing his lips to yours as Betty, Veronica, and Archie cheered.

You pulled away, burying your face in his chest as your friends kept cheering.

“By the way, if it wasn’t obvious, I like you too (L/N),” Jughead whispered, kissing you once more.

You definitely had to remember to thank Betty.
