1. The friends you have at the beginning of the year can completely change by the end of it. People change, and if they aren’t improving your life in some way, it’s okay to drop them.

2. Take many pictures. Don’t let it take over your life, though. You don’t want to look back and see that you only captured your memories with your camera lens and not within your mind and heart.

3. Find your safe place. Whether it be in the arms of a certain person or on the balcony of Barnes and Nobles with a cup of soup, find it and don’t let it go. You can have more than one safe place.

4. Be nice to everyone. You honestly don’t know what skeletons people are hiding in their closets. Everyone has their skeleton. Every person on this earth has something in their life or past worth collapsing on the ground in uncontrollable sobs over.

5. Reading is so important. Highlight the things that you read that you find intriguing. Read a lot, it can only do good things for you.

6. Writing always helps.

7. The girl with anxiety has the deepest thoughts. The autistic boy has the kindest heart, and the schizophrenic has the ability to put a smile on your face in seconds. Do not judge character based on a mental illness.

8. Music has an indescribable ability to connect and heal. Let it do its thing.

9. Her prettiness doesn’t make your prettiness any less pretty.

10. Getting close and letting someone in is scary as hell. You know what else it is? Worth it.

11. The minute you feel your happiness being dictated by someone else, take a break from them.

12. Adventuring is a must. Sunsets always help the soul, showing that endings can be as beautiful as beginnings.

13. Spend more time with your parents doing things they enjoy. Later in life, you’ll be wishing you’d spent more time with them than on your Netflix account.

14. Home is not always a place, but whatever you love with your whole heart. I have many homes, and it’s okay if one home doesn’t feel like home anymore.

15. Making someone smile and feel genuinely happy has the ability to warm your heart from the inside out. No matter how much pain someone is going through, you made them forget about it for a few seconds. Isn’t that something?

16. Feel everything and let it hurt, but don’t go back to what broke you.

17. Don’t let fear hold you back from what you want. The view from the other side is spectacular.

18. Tell people how you feel. Even if you’re scared it’ll burn your life to the ground. You say it loud.

19. You find the most extraordinary things in the most ordinary places.

20. Swollen lips and sweaty “I want you’s” can make you feel again, but I don’t want to feel anything if it means having to sit there feeling like the wind is constantly being knocked out of me when he stops calling back.

21. Sometimes the way you think of someone isn’t the way they actually are.

22. Never underestimate the amount of joy the holiday season can bring you. Try and find ways to feel that way all year long.

23. Timing is never going to be perfect; if you care about something enough, you’ll make the time. It’s all about priorities.

24. If women used their words to build each other up instead of tearing each other down, our world would change drastically.

25. Recovery can take 2 weeks or 5 years. You aren’t any less of a person if it takes you longer to find a way to let go of what’s hurting your heart.

26. You only need yourself, but having people by your side trying to understand means a lot more than you might think.

27. You find your truest friends in your darkest hours.

28. You can feel the whole world in a month and nothing after 2 years. Time does not define love.

29. Always say yes to dessert.

30. Concerts make life worth living. So does yelling your favorite song along with your best friend in the car with your best friend with hands intertwined. These are things that show you that you don’t need to be on drugs to feel invincible.

31. So does kissing.

Why you should watch Rupaul’s Drag Race

1. The winners:

The show didn’t have a white winner till season 4. S E A S O N 4. It has the most diversity.

first season winner: Bebe Zahara Benet -Black, won because fierce af

Second Season Winner: Tyra Sanchez -Black, she won because well, honestly she deserved it in the end..

Third Season Winner: Raja Gemini -Asian, won because honestly, it was either her or Manila, and either one deserved it as much as the other. Raja stood out with her fashion sense, and just how she does drag, fierce af. Raja is amazing and will be one of the best drag queens you ever see.

Fourth Season Winner: Sharon Needles -White, won because she stood out, and was different then most type of drag. She deserved it. Plus fierce af, her style is spooky, and creepy, she isn’t all glamour, but she is her own type of glamour.

Fifth Season Winner: Jinkx Monsoon -White, had narcolepsy and didn’t let it stop her. She improved throughout the season and deserved to win 100% Sweet af person and fierce af.

Sixth Season Winner: Bianca Del Rio -Hispanic, also a different kind of drag, not all fishy, but comedy. She is a comedy queen. and an insult queen, again won because she stood out, and is the funniest winner so far. Underneath all that heavy makeup and insults, she’s the nicest person ever. Fierce af

Seventh Season Winner: Violet Chachki -White, she deserved it 100% The youngest winner yet, and the fiercest. Her fashion level is beyond high, probably up there with Raja tbh. She was a bitch till episode 5 then you saw her change and you just loved her. Fierce af, bdsm goddess. Smallest waist in rupaul drag race herstory.

2. Each season is fucking hilarious, and as the seasons go along, each one gets funnier.

5. They don’t call it rupaul’s best friend race for nothing. It’s amazing how everyone is friends after filming or when the show airs, because there is alot of drama, and sometimes that can pull friends apart. they are basically oNE BIG FAMILY.

Lance and the Voltron Team go on a mission that goes horribly wrong. Lance is left behind to be interrogated by the mysterious Galra Prince Lotor. The team must rush to get him back at all costs.

Chapter 1: Well, Great.

Lance awoke to the same face he had been seeing for a while now. That’s the thing about space, it’s hard to tell the time. But this Prince Lotor guy was making it even harder since he didn’t let Lance sleep more than an hour at a time, well he hoped it was an hour.

Team Voltron had been floating across the galaxy and found a distress beacon from a nearby planet. When they landed Allura asked the people what was wrong since they seemed pretty peachy for apparently being under distress. They lead the Voltron team to these large trees, like huge, way bigger than Earth’s trees. They entered a kind of makeshift elevator and when they reached the top they saw the problem.

A huge Galra ship hanging in the sky above them. No movement, nothing firing, just sitting there in the atmosphere above the planet. Obviously the people had panicked, sounded the distress beacon but the ship hadn’t done anything for a full week. The ship was making the people nervous so they left the beacon on hoping someone would come help them.

It was weird. Really weird. So of course they had to check it out. Team Voltron. Wooh. Anyway so eventually they went back to the castle. Allura and Coran did every scan they thought of and well they found no signs of life. Also weird. But they couldn’t destroy the ship, not from the castle. The shields were still up and they had to be disabled. So someone, namely Pidge had to get on the ship, disable the shield and get out so the castle could blast it out of the sky. Simple.

First of all Lance was the only one to think that maybe this wasn’t a great idea. Everyone else was convinced the scans worked, that no one was on the ship. Of course they went in still on alert but you know, things never go well for the paladin in blue. So Pidge was escorted by Lance and Keith while Hunk and Shiro waited with the castle just in case.

They entered the ship no problem. Not a big deal. Even got to the control panel without a hitch. But as soon as Pidge so much as touched the console things went to shit, real quick. When Pidge touched the console it set off some sort of alarm, out of nowhere Lance heard guards gathering outside the control room door. He and Keith readied their bayards then the comms went nuts. Shiro, Hunk and the castle had been surrounded by a Galra fleet. There was no escape. It had been a trap.

So Lance made a decision and a dangerous one. Without thinking he grabbed Keith and Pidge by the back of their uniforms and threw them over the edge of the control board, down a long drop where a vent lead to the outside of the ship. Pidge made a surprise squeak with Keith yelling Lance’s name. Lance turned and began to fire on the Galra soldiers. He knew what he had to do.

“I’m gonna blow the ship. Get as far away as you can, wormhole out if you have to!” He shouted over the comms.

There was muffled sounds of protest from Shiro and Hunk before the comms went dead completely. Great now they couldn’t communicate. The guards were piling through the door like mice escaping a hole. He had to hope that by now Pidge and Keith had made it far enough away, he couldn’t hold them any longer. So he turned his back, taking what cover he could from the tons of fire. He aimed at the crystal in front of him. He needed to break it. So he looked where he could fire. Where the crystal attached, he’s sure he can hit it. He aims, a shot from one of the guards hits him in the shoulder. Doesn’t matter. He breathes and fires. The shot hit sure and true and the crystal began to crack, sparks coming from it. Lance jumped into the cavern, going down the shaft to the vent. The crystal explodes.

Lance can’t hear anything, the explosion must have blown an ear drum. His back feels hot, spinning out of control into open air, jet pack not functioning. Great. Blue isn’t near enough to get to him. He had no idea how the castle was if everyone was okay. But the g-forces were causing his head to spin and he began to lose consciousness. His last thought was, I hope everyone gets out okay. Lance’s vision goes black as he continues to tumble towards the planet’s surface.

Everyone sees it, they hear it too. Keith and Pidge managed to get back to the castle in one piece right before the whole ship goes up. The explosion would have been spectacular if it wasn’t so frightening. Hunk and Shiro stopped fight just of a moment in sheer horror as the whole ship explodes. Lance was on that ship.

But the explosion works. The fleet takes damage, the explosion bigger than usual since they were fighting in the atmosphere rather than space. It takes out several ships. They have a chance to escape.

But everyone is frozen. Until they see it. A tiny figure tail spinning out of control in a blue and white suit.

“Lance!” Shiro shouts, trying to get to him before he hits the surface. But enemies were replacing the destroyed ones and he couldn’t get there in time.

Suddenly the ship that had hung back for the entire battle did something none of them expected. It sent out a beam of purple light and shined it on Lance’s out of control form. Lance’s body went limp, still and then slowly began to drag him toward the Galra ship.

Keith yelled, “They’re taking him!”

“We have to get him!” Pidge insisted. She hated the way he was limp, was he unconscious or worse?

They rushed to go get their lions. But Allura’s voice stopped them.

“YOU CANNOT!” She shouted.

Everyone paused even Shiro and Hunk who were still fighting outside the castle but they heard it over the comms. They had never heard Allura scream like that.

“We must wormhole out, we cannot win this fight.” She said this time barely a whisper.

There was a stunned silence before Keith of all people shouted.

“That’s LANCE out there! He just risked his life to give us a chance! We can’t abandon him!” Keith said, outraged.

Allura took in a breath.

“That is exactly why we need to go. Now. Lance bought us time. We can’t waste it.” She turned to them, tears in her eyes. Keith’s rage quickly melted.

“We will come back for him. We will find him and bring him home. However we need to be alive to do that. I’m certain we would not survive an assault on that ship. We must leave. Now.” Allura said tears streaking down her cheeks.

She wiped them the best she could and went to the comms telling Hunk and Shiro to come back. They were going to wormhole out. Reluctantly they came back, looking pale and worried. The ship made the wormhole, leaving the Galra and Lance behind.

Lance’s head felt heavy. His back felt worse, dry and stinging. He was being suspended against a wall. Arms, legs and torso bound by heavy thick clamps on the walls. Everything hurt. He slowly raised his head, moving it seemed to make it worse but he needed to see where he was. He knew he wasn’t in the castle but where exactly was he?

He blinked his eyes. Realizing quickly that one was having trouble seeing, which is a great thing to add to his ever growing list of problems. The room was dark with metal floors, walls and ceiling. Purple lights lined the walls in a linear pattern. He recognized that purple anywhere. He was on a Galra ship. Great.

He spent time looking over his injuries. He took a shot to the shoulder, he remembered that. But the rest must have been from the explosion or the free fall. His back was burnt, realizing the sensation. His left eye couldn’t see very well, vision was dark and tinted red. He could feel a cut over his eyebrow pulsing and swollen. His jaw felt fat and burned. The clamps were holding him to the wall a bit too tight and it seemed hard to draw a good breath. What a mess.

Soon the door flew open, showering the room in purple light. A tall man stepped in, long white hair and purple skin. Yellow almost glowing eyes looked at Lance with an interest that made his skin crawl. He was wearing armor, fancy armor. This guy was definitely in charge. Lance smirked, confidence couldn’t fail him now.

“Who are you? Zarkon’s replacement?” Lance asked, smug

The man took a moment and smiled.

“Yes, something like that.” He confirmed.

Lance was a little stunned, he honestly hadn’t expected him to answer.

“What, really?!” Lance asked, shocked.

The man smiled.

“My name is Prince Lotor, I am Zarkon’s son.” He took a step forward, examining Lance a little closer.

Once satisfied with being a creep he backed off.

”I must inform you that your fellow paladins have abandoned you.” Lotor said.

Lance breathed a small breath of relief. So they did get out. Good. That’s good, Lance thought although he couldn’t help the lump forming in his throat.

“Oh don’t worry, they’ll be back.” Lance said confidently.

Well he hoped anyway. Lotor paused and smile kept on his face.

“If that’s the case, how about we get started?”

Lance swallowed the lump was getting bigger. Two guards from the hallway came through the door.

“Bring it big ears.” Lance smirked.

Lotor’s face didn’t change, not even a twitch of anger. Now that Lance could see him up close, for a Galra he was pretty handsome. Nice hair. Although he seemed not all Galra. Lance wasn’t sure how he knew that but something about him read a little more of something else.

Lotor took a step closer, the guards following him closely as a flood of more people came into the room. Druids, that’s what their called. Cloaked with masks but the creepy witch lady wasn’t there which was a relief. But they shuffled in with metal floating boxes and began to take out what Lance had to guess was torture devices which wasn’t so great.

Lotor began to talk.

“You are the blue paladin of Voltron, riding the blue lion which also is a leg of Voltron. You were injured due to the explosion on the false ship over the planet of Neva. You escaped through a vent but the explosion was rather close to you. You were sent into the atmosphere were the gravity forced you unconscious. Our ship rescued you before you hit the planet. Once on board we treated some of your wounds so you did not die. But we left the majority that were not life threatening. Once you were brought aboard our ship the rest of the paladins used the explosion to escape us via wormhole.” Lotor smiled.

“This is the information we know. You see Zarkon was not one to share information with others. He unfortunately did not leave me any information about Voltron or its paladins. So I must gather the information myself.” He paused as a druid handed him something small and metallic.

The lump in Lance’s throat was growing bigger. He wanted to go home. He was scared. Terrified. But somewhere in the back of his mind which was flooded with terror rose something else. He remembered he protected the team. They were fine and were going to live for another day. Something in Lance clicked in place like a gear in his body was replaced with something stronger.

It didn’t matter. What happened to him didn’t matter. He must do everything he can to keep everyone safe. His emotions became steel and the breath that had been coming too quickly slowed. The fear was still there but that was natural the rest was made of unmoving steel.

Lance looked at Lotor his eyes narrowing and smirk plastered all over his face. He was not afraid.

“Why don’t you just get started then? Quit the chatter.” Lance snarled.

Lotor paused and blinked momentarily surprised. But then his smile grew across his face.

“Oh. I will have fun breaking you.”

So quick. Lance didn’t even register as Lotor took the small metal object and shoved it through Lance’s hand. Lance screamed.

When I say Oliver should fight for Felicity...

There has been a lot of debate in the fandom for over a year now about whether Oliver should’ve fought harder to make things right with Felicity after the breakup. Everyone has their own definition of what “fighting for Felicity” means, and I won’t speak for everyone. I can only speak for myself and relay my own hopes and frustrations.

Today @emilytbett was nice enough to share with us the autographed script she received of 4x16 in which Olicity recite their vows.

It was actually so beautiful and amazing to see how the actors contributed to the script and really made the characters come to life in that scene. I think we all needed to see this and be reminded of why we’ve been staying with the show even when we want to scream and throw things at the TV.

There are many reasons why I’ve been upset this season and why I felt like I was pushed to my limit with 5x15. And it’s seeing this beautiful script and what we could’ve had that has made it hit home. I am one of those fans that strongly believes Oliver should’ve fought for Felicity, especially after he said these vows. With lines like “You will always be the best thing about me for the rest of my life” and “I will never lie to you again. Ever, ever again,” how could we not believe Oliver would’ve done everything in his power to make things right with the love of his life?

Some fans argue that Felicity firmly closed the door on a reconciliation, and it wouldn’t have been right for Oliver to pursue her. But fighting for Felicity, to me, was never about Oliver coming on too strong or pressuring her to give him another chance romantically. I actually think the two did need to take a break and be apart for a while during hiatus. They both had a lot of heartache and issues to process and work through individually.

But where I think the writers truly did the characters and fans a disservice in Season 5 is by not having Oliver become a living embodiment of these vows. Flirting with Felicity and asking her out was not how Oliver needed to fight for Felicity. To truly make things right, he first needed to apologize for lying. A simple, heartfelt “I’m sorry” to show that he was genuinely remorseful and understood how he hurt her. Nothing is more powerful than actually hearing the one you love say the words.

Then, every day after that, Oliver needed to show he’d changed through his actions. That meant being a good friend and partner by making sure Felicity had support after her paralysis, job loss, and Havenrock. If anyone understands the effects of trauma, it’s Oliver. They didn’t have to be big scenes because, let’s be honest, Arrow more often than not has issues with pacing and giving sufficient time to hit the emotional beats. These moments are usually small but powerful blips that we either re-watch or gif the heck out of to catch all of the subtle nuances. But small, consistent moments of Oliver asking about Felicity’s day or if she’s okay when she seems off would’ve gone a long way. Heck, even something as simple as bringing her a coffee or Big Belly Burger (I know he’s a food snob but Felicity loves the salt and grease) after a long day would’ve meant a lot.

In turn, we needed to see Oliver being more open and honest with Felicity about his past and how he felt going forward facing various challenges (both as the mayor and Green Arrow). We saw a promising glimpse of that in 5x02 when he mentioned the Bratva to her.

However, he reverted to old habits in 5x04 when he lied about rescuing Dig. Maybe Felicity does need to be the one to make the first move and give Oliver a sign that she’d be open to giving him a second chance, but it’s a total Catch-22. Oliver can’t make a move until Felicity is ready, but Felicity probably won’t be ready until she sees an actual positive change in Oliver.

Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ve seen that positive change yet. If anything, it seems to me like the writers have regressed Oliver yet again (maybe even more than in the past). Having him apologize and doggedly pursue another woman who isn’t even worthy of the effort sends the wrong message. Watching Oliver do this for another woman (one that Felicity knows is shady and has hurt people she’s cared about) does not communicate to Felicity that he’s thinking clearly or learned from past mistakes. I won’t even get into Oliver asking her to help him fix things with EWR, because there aren’t enough words to describe my utter disgust with that move. I think it hurt Felicity way more than she let on to see Oliver fighting for someone else but not even attempting to apologize to her for his lies or obliviousness to her pain after he “killed” Billy. In seeing Oliver put his own needs above hers yet again, I think it became the deciding factor (or last straw) in Felicity seeking support elsewhere and joining Helix. And until we see Oliver man up and stop being so self-absorbed, the “rebuild” just isn’t going to be effective.

Oliver and Felicity do love each other. They’re soulmates. No one can convince me otherwise. Seeing the 4x16 script reaffirmed the deep love they shared, and I’m not saying they can’t get back to that. But it’s going to take time and effort. I think a single conversation won’t be enough to fix them this time. The reason Season 2 and, yes, Season 3 (despite the angst) were so great for Olicity was because the subtle moments (though they tortured us at times) slowly added up and fit perfectly into the big picture of their relationship. The rebuild has to be the same way and, personally, too much bad drama in Season 5 has happened for me to feel good about a reunion just yet. Oliver still has to be a better man so that he can realistically pull Felicity out of the darkness that’s consuming her. Blind optimism (blatantly trusting the wrong people) is not living in the light, and his actions have to start reflecting the change he’s claiming to make. It’s the only way he can even deserve the possibility of a second chance with Felicity. Right now, I’m hoping that by the finale Olicity have grown individually and we get an ending similar to Season 2 where there’s a strong indication of a reunion coming in Season 6.

Will the writers actually do this? Who knows?! The Olicity love is definitely there and if the writers know what’s good for them (and their ratings), they’ll quit their failed experiment and actually embrace the elements that made this show so successful in the first place. How this plays out will be a mystery until the finale but what’s an absolute necessity for me as a viewer is seeing Oliver get out of his own way and fight for the woman he loves. Felicity deserves it. Oliver deserves it. We deserve it. And it’s totally okay to not accept anything less…

Summary: “Tell me about Robbie.” Daisy could almost hear the smirk in Jemma’s voice when she said, “Ghost Rider.”

“Don’t you think we have better things to discuss?”

“Our team is trapped in a floating prison, presumably in another galaxy, if not another dimension, and I am drawing a serious blank on any feasible plan to break us free, let alone find our way back to Earth once we do. Sometimes the only way to solve a problem is to take a break from it. I could use the distraction.”

Takes place in a speculative season 5 AU where the whole team is trapped in the same space prison as Coulson. (If that’s what it was??) Daisy and Jemma spend most every night talking to each other through the shared wall of their cells. One night, the subject of Robbie comes up. (*cough* Jemma brings it up *cough*)

In a bleak way, it reminded her of the Framework. Another cell, another four gray walls. Except she had a bed this time, and she was in another dimension, not an alternate reality, and as much as Radcliffe may have redeemed himself in the end by saving Fitz (and Yo-yo and Mack), sharing a wall with Jemma was infinitely better company.

It’d taken them a few days to find it. She’d started tinkering when the idleness had turned into restlessness that edged toward madness, unscrewing anything in sight with the spoon she’d slipped up her sleeve during mealtime. She’d just been looking for a way to understand how this place worked, but she’d ended up finding a weak spot in the corner of one wall behind an electrical panel, a hollow for the wires controlling her room, and the one next door. She’d started tapping on it lightly with her spoon. It was only a matter of hours until she heard scraping coming from the other side, and then, Jemma’s voice.

They’d both breathed a sigh of relief.

Season 4 Episode 4 - Beyond Redemption

Oliver Queen: takes one-tenth of an episode to decide to run for Mayor without a game plan.
Also Oliver Queen: takes another 9 episodes to re-propose to wife after months of planning.

Lil Justice

Support the artist here :)
(( if anyone wishes to be tagged or untagged in these ‘Lil Justice’ Arrowverse mini-comics please let me know 0w0))

And with this, I’ve finally completed all the Lil Justice comics for Season 4.
I’m really glad I stopped numbering these because the out-of-orderness I’ve drawn these in kind of bug me. The very first Lil Justice was all the way back in Season 4 Episode 5.
After this, I’ll be starting from the very first episode and we’ll see how much I can finish this hiatus. XD

So it is late and smack in the middle of the week but I just really need a moment to ああああ あ あ あ あ あ あ Natsume Yuujinchou Roku was such a satisfying watch! Here! Just take all my feels!!!  The OP and ED songs were spot on for mood, and when they hit the high notes I just …. *clutches chest*….

This season was an especially good watch for me because I wasn’t following many new shows, so I made time to re-watch Seasons 1 to 5 and catch up with the later chapters of the manga. That was a lot of old feels over the years I thought had mellowed out but no, no. In the words of Celine Dion it’s all coming back to me now.  So many things I want to speculate about the current season (Grandpa Natsume?!), the stuff I noticed only during the re-watch ( the kids have been stuck in Second Year for a LOT of seasons! Also Sasada has stopped stalking Natsume everywhere he goes!)  and the old things that I once thought about before (Natsume and that pink shirt he keeps wearing for the first two seasons! Did he accidentally wash all his shirts with the reds when he first moved in? Did he have no new clothes? Is that why?! ) So many feels, so little time!

Reasons I Don’t Think Root Died

From the start of TDTWWA, Root’s acting weird. She clearly has been in contact with The Machine prior to her first appearance in the episode, as Root knows Finch is going to shut down The Machine. Throughout the episode, there’s a sense of her trying to say goodbye and set things in motion. Like the I-love-you-but-in-other-words talk with Shaw, or trying to give Shaw a kind of coping mechanism during their fight. Perhaps most importantly, mere seconds before they see Blackwell on the rooftop, Root says to Finch “when the time comes, you’ll know what to do”. If Root knew at the start that she was going to die, but then TM faked her death (the theory I’m inclined to go with), or that she’d die or that she was going to fake her death, it makes all the writing that much tighter and potentially reframes her talk of living on in The Machine as someone trying to come to terms with an approaching expected death.

Every time a Team Machine member dies (I’m including Elias for season 5 since he really was part of the team that season), the show references their first episode in a major way for some symmetry. The Crossing has the Pilot precinct, Reese and Carter repeating dialogue from it and beating up subway thugs. The Day The World Went Away itself has Elias going back to the Double Bs and talking about when he was there with John. return 0 has Reese talk about when Finch found him and gave him a purpose in the Pilot, and you can include the ending symmetry perhaps. But TDTWWA has none of that for Root. It’d be completely contrary to how they handle death within the series.

Finch’s number coming up. Samaritan never wanted to kill Finch until Root and Shaw intervened, and the episode ends with Reese highlighting this fact and saying he thinks his number came up because of what he was going to do to them. So that’s what the writers want us to take away from it. And, if so, that means The Machine would have to know Root would die or “die” for Finch to be pushed to do those things to them.

The episode also makes a point to show she’s shot and bleeding before Blackwell takes his shot. Once he does, we never actually see any entry wound or more blood. This show has always made sure that the big character deaths are definitive with no questions about them, it’d be weird for them to suddenly not even show that someone died. While they did show her body, Shaw’s very first episode involves her in a body bag.

Speaking of said body, everyone in the ‘core four’ of Team Machine has been presumed dead. Finch after the ferry bombing, Reese after Ordos, Shaw when Hersh “killed her”. Root never has, but this episode would complete that running theme if she turned up alive later.

The next piece is found in Synecdoche. I read somewhere that Lisa Joy helped a lot with The Machine’s dialogue uncredited, which explains why it’s the highlight of the episode, and I think there’s a very particular reason for that they were keeping close to the chest. Throughout the episode, The Machine, the person who knows Root better than probably anyone, keeps calling her Samantha Groves. She talks about her death in those terms, using that name. But over .exe and return 0, she says ‘Root’, though never uses it to refer to the ‘death’ with Finch. In one of the first scenes of .exe, The Machine says to Finch “You know I can’t lie to you, Harold.” And she’s not. Samantha Groves died a long time ago, maybe on records is officially dead now, but that doesn’t mean Root is. There’s no other reason for her to suddenly be calling her Samantha Groves except to circumvent her programming not letting her lie to Finch.

“Oops, they must have dug her up.” Must have? The Machine acts like this is a surprise to her, but if she can see Shaw, she can see the grave, and she would know if they did.

In the commentary for .exe that was briefly on the CBS website and has since been taken down and is not on the blu-ray, Plageman talks about Root knowing the Ice 9 password, and specifically says that we’d find out why next episode. But clearly that’s nowhere in return 0, so that must have been among the cut scenes.

And on that line of cut scenes are perhaps the most important two. The first, the fact that apparently Shaw had a full conversation on the phone that was cut, Nolan only saying that Root’s voice was 100% on the other end. The second was revealed by Michael Emerson, who asked an interviewer who he thought the “dark haired motorcyclist in the final montage” was. But, as anyone who has seen the episode can attest to, there is no motorcyclist, that was cut. So if you can see that dark hair under a bike helmet…must be long, huh?

Then there’s the arc Jonathan Nolan has over the interviews. When TDTWWA aired, there was the usual interview that went up on IGN and he and Plageman talk about how Root ‘transcended into The Machine’ and became The Machine. I was…heartbroken, to say the least, by the end of TDTWWA, but honestly…I do kinda like that idea fine. I can be okay with this. Buuuut then Synecdoche comes out. And early on, it establishes from The Machine’s POV that she’s not Root, she’s just using her voice. Which is fine too, but these are not the same thing. Come that weekend, at a festival they showed .exe at, his story changes to “Sometimes heroes die in the dark alone!” And then a friend linked me to an interview from after return 0. Don’t recall where it was though to find it, and Jonathan Nolan goes back on everything he said and says he’d be cool with a spinoff about Root and Shaw working for the new Machine and that you can take the ending how you want.

Way back when The Devil’s Share aired, the Writer’s Room Twitter tweeted that they were planning to reveal Reese’s name that episode, but decided not to because they found a better spot, adding a hashtag saying season 5. So I’m fairly certain Reese was a goner this season even if it wasn’t the end. Michael Emerson also mentioned in interviews for season 5 how he wasn’t able to keep up with the 22/23 episode seasons anymore just due to how exhausting it was. Which means 2/5 of the cast is gone going into season 6. I really don’t see them knowing that, writing those two off, killing Root and just having Shaw and Fusco from now on with Amy Acker voicing The Machine.

But why would The Machine need to fake Root’s death and lie about it? Because Root would stand in the way of what needed to be done with Ice 9 to bring down Samaritan. I don’t think for a second she’d allow them to use it since it would kill The Machine as well, and Finch wouldn’t have gone through what was necessary to get it or use it without that push. We’ve seen The Machine manipulate pieces on the board before to give characters the push they need, perhaps most explicitly in 4C.

When the season 5 airing date was announced, the showrunners pulled the plug themselves, knowing CBS was jerking them around and were going to cancel it anyway. But since they were, at one point, hopeful they’d get a sixth season, I think Root on the phone and motorcycle was the tease for it. The “come back next season” moment that they cut because they weren’t getting another season to explain why she’s alive. But even though they, if I’m right, cut it, the gap is still there where it can fit and nothing really contradicts it. After all, who else would get that big a smile out of Shaw after all that happened this season?

Coming back to this post from earlier

It seems to me like a lot of season 1, particularly the first half, is very disconnected from the plot overall. Almost as if they weren’t entirely certain on the direction they were going to take. Because back then, we didn’t know anything about gems or Homeworld at all. We didn’t question why certain things were the way they were because we didn’t need to. There wasn’t enough information for the show to contradict itself with. But looking back now as we begin Season 5, we know A LOT about gems, gem history, and Homeworld. And from that I can clearly see that there are so many little things in season 1 (including The Bird and Beetles) that are so out of place.

  1. The gem shards in Frybo that can control armour. Back then, we knew nothing about gem shards so we just accepted that these were magic gem shards used for fighting. Put them in armour and you’ve automatically got yourself a soldier. BUT NOW we know that gem shards are essentially corpses. So you’re telling me that PIECES OF DEAD GEMS were used to control armour and were weaponised. Something that was shown to be evil through the use of THE CLUSTER. Not only that, but Gem shards lose all sentience and personality. They become nothing more than very very very very basic data inputs. They can juuust about form a limb, and just about move. That is all. But for some reason those gems shards didn’t take any form at all, were able to possess armour, take commands, and follow them out. And The Crystal Gems used them during the war? What?
  2. Fire Salt. Clearly shown to be dangerous to humans but not gems, pretty much confirming that it is something made for gem consumption. This makes 0 sense considering that gems do not need to eat, and I highly doubt that Homeworld has a restaurant industry. Why does this one example of ‘gem food’ exist? Why did Amethyst have it? There’s no explanation given for its existence at all. We’re just meant to accept that its just ~magic~ when magic is gone from the show and its a full on sci-fi now?
  3. The Scroll. I remember one of the crew pretty much confirming that the scroll is a piece of parchment that was basically drawn on by someone who had crushed up gem shards into a poweder and used them like a crayon. Not only is this morally fucked up, but WHO DID IT? Was it Homeworld? If it was, then why? Why just this one piece of paper? Why did it have to be destroyed rather than bubbled? Why was it able to escape and possess organic matter? Nothing about that scroll makes any sense whatsoever.
  4. The Shooting Star. This one makes a bit more sense, but its still out of place. Its supposedly a really really powerful bomb, right? Most likely used during the war. That’s fine. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense considering that they could just make a regular explosive, I dont see whats so special about the Star, but whatever. But the gems clearly wanted to use the star to destroy the Galaxy Warp in Winter Forecast. It was one of many possible futures that Steven saw. So why didn’t they? And to jump from that point, how were the gems able to form some kind of psychic circle to telekinetically hold the star in place; and then warp it without warping themselves? That was their plan. It didn’t work, but that was it.
  5. Steven’s aging ability. It seems like that ability was given to him purely for that episode. It was only used again in Steven’s Birthday, and even that’s debatable as its also implied that he’s not using his aging power but he’s just shapeshifting to look older. I don’t really see the point in Steven having that ability at all, even if it did make for a decent episode.
  6. The Hourglass/Glass of Time. THIS is the one that annoys me the most. Ancient gem technology technology that allows for time travel at will. TIME TRAVEL. What is stoping Homeworld, a colonial galactic superpower, from recreating this ANCIENT technology to go back in time and prevent the rebellion from ever happening? Why do they not make use of this? They could rule the entire universe with this power, but it just seems forgotten? In addition to that, why build it in a temple underwater hidden amongst many other false hourglasses, and if the wrong one is chosen then the whole place falls apart and regenerates in 100 years? Was that just to make it more ~magic~? What’s the point in any of it?
  7. The Lunar Sea Spire. The existence of the spire itself makes perfect sense. It was constructed as a hub for gems. Looks most likely like some kind of meeting place for the elites of Homeworld; something that Bismuth even talks about. Sooooo why is the statue necessary? Why did it have to be returned or else the tower would be destroyed? What’s the point in that, why would Homeworld design it like that? In addition to that, why are there statues on the Spire that resemble fusions with multiple limbs, when fusion is illegal on Homeworld?
  8. The Crystal Shrimp and other Crystal Orgnanisms. The Crystal Shrimp could be a whole bunch of the same corrupted gem, that could make some sense. It wouldnt explain why they’re very obviously covered in multiple gems, but whatever. Pearl talks about those things as if they’re a different species, and that they’re highly dangerous blah blah blah. And they even go after the sandwich that Steven throws for them? Why? Corrupt gems run on instinct, but why would gems have an instinct to eat? Which also raises the question of why and how Centipeetle ate in Monster Buddies, or whatever it was called. Lion is also seen eating some kind of lizard that’s clearly got gems on it despite obviously being organic in Lion 2. If they want to say that gem invasion/the corruption song/other gem related things interfered with the ecosystem and mutated some animals, then that’s fine. But they haven’t at all. If that’s the case, why wouldn’t Pearl have mentioned that at the Spire, and said something about Crystal Shrimp being mutated crustaceans or something?
  9. The Desert Glass. Confirmed to be a corrupted gem, but it has a lot of unanswered questions surrounding it. It seemed like Rose was using it for something to do with the Lions in Buddy’s Book. Considering that we see the Glass’s structures in the episode, and Buddy documents them as a landmark. Rose knows they exist, and didn’t do anything about them. So clearly she was using it for something. This one isn’t too bad because it could possibly still be answered, but it doesn’t seem relevant enough. I could be wrong though, the show isnt over yet so we might learn more about it, but still.
  10. The Geode. We know that this is also a type of bomb. Basically a thunder bomb of some kind; which kinda makes sense as a weapon but not too much. Its just another case of ‘why not just use an explosive?’ Even ancient gem technology clearly had advanced weaponry, as we see in the old ships, and the fact that a war was even possible. The Geode just seems really out of place in a similar way to the Shooting Star.

That’s all I can think of for now, and I’m stopping because this post is extra long. Feel free to add more if you can think of things, and let me know what you think. I really feel like season 1a feels weirdly disconnected from the rest of the show, but it might just be me.

I seriously can’t wait til Monday. The trailer has been on my mind all day and I’m just obsessed with trying to break it down, figure out what its trying to tell us. I have a few theories:

1) Sana is the cause or start of a domino affect that goes through the group.

  • We see the trailer backwards which has its own significance but at the ‘end’ of it we see Sana tripping Noora. I personally like to think its also symbolic of the fact that Sana is always 5 steps ahead of everything. She can see things the others can’t, maybe because they are distracted but all the teen shenanigans they go through.

2) Girl Squad back with a force.

  • all our favorite girls back together again!! what I found interesting about them in the trailer was how they almost havent changed at all? We see Chris her usual awesome self, Eva being a party girl, Noora and Vilde still butting heads but there for each other none the less (catching her when she falls?? im 100% sure Willhelm is going to be a whole conversation between them) it felt very season 1 almost. with sana essentially pushing them together.

3) Even??? no, not Isak AND Even. Just Even.

  • This is point 3 but honestly its the main thing i’ve been thinking about. Now I caught Even4Main fever around month 2 of the hiatus but I managed to stay realistic enough to understand it was highly unlikely. I genuinely didn’t think we’d get much of him and Isak and then… Yousef showed up. NOW I’m buzzing with ideas because the trailer made it clear: Even is connected to Sana and is the final ‘result’ of this domino affect she triggered.
  • Even is also the only one to get hurt in the trailer as a result of this chain of events. That could mean nothing but… it is Julie. Another thing too is that the hit is a complete shock and clearly catches Even off guard and upsets him quite a bit. The way he sort of stumbles down and his just kneeling there unfocused set off sirens in my brain.
  • Last point on Even (honestly i was floored we saw him) It’s clear that whatever happens, it’s only about him. Though Isak is there, we don’t see his face at all which is pretty clear cut in saying that, This isn’t about them as a couple. I was comforted though by the fact that Isak was shown expressing nothing but tenderness and comfort. He didnt back away from Even once and kept an anchoring hand on him the whole time (he even knelled down with him, which could be symbolic of Even’s biggest fear: dragging Isak down into his dark side) Also, Even looked kinda sad, kinda lost before he got hit. my poor kid is gonna struggle.

4) The kids are partying it up! But…. where???

  • it took me a few watches to finally hit on why the trailer gave me an ominous feel and the sense that something very different was going to happen. Though we are seeing them in a familiar atmosphere (party time) the setting is completely different from run of the mill teenage rager. it is dark with red tones, the people dont seem like typical teenagers, the gang is clearly separate from them, and the walls and floor are black. The girls outfits kinda reflect this too. Like Eva wearing heels. She has a great style but def not a heels kinda girl. And Vilde. she was dressed TO IMPRESS. she looked amazing but so not what we are used to seeing from her in a party atmosphere. Maybe it symbolizes maturity or maybe they make new friends…..

5) Stop. Take it back now y’all.

  • why. was. it. in. reverse. for one thing the song because it had an Arabic tone when played backwards. But what got me too was that we see Even and Isak first (call back to where we left off last season?) and slowly winds itself back to Sana. Are we suppose to understand that it all started with her and is now ending with her? Is it a cautionary tale? Is it trying to say that some things in life are just unavoidable??? Who knows. (Julie. Julie knows.)

Just some of my thoughts. I’m curious to see everyone elses theories while we wait to start! Happy finale Season 4!

Personal most badass moment: Dani switching between calls so confidently she booked a meeting with a big deal producer with nothing but two phones in under an hour. I mean, I can barely call someone important for more than 5 minutes and she did all that??

YES! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT SCENE! I’m so glad someone mentioned this to me. It was the moment where Dani was not just a bland supportive character – of course Dani as a character her back story; a character who has gone through relationships that were based money, violence, and control. In season one, we mostly saw her actress-or-celebrity side I should say. But then, we also saw her loyalty and kindness towards her true friends – Lito and Hernando. Yes, she made a terrible mistake of taking photos of them having sex. But she didn’t try to escape that situation; she risked her life to save Lito’s career (and Hernando).

To be honest in the very beginning I didn’t really like Dani, but when she showed how much she cared about Lito and Hernando, she grew on me. I adore her. And when I watched the legendary 58 minutes scene, my god, I was cheering along with Lito and Hernando. It showed, again, not only how much Dani really cares about Lito, but also how strong, independent, and proactive she is. Dani said she didn’t have any agent in the beginning of her career but that didn’t stop her – that literally proves she’s hell of a tough one to survive in film industry (not to mention building a career path by herself).

Her skillfulness, the way she persuades producer and his assistant, and her confidence – I’m sure everyone who watched this season fell in love with Dani, and I’m no exception. I think this is another reason why we love this show – is that not a single character is bland. They don’t just exist to be next to main characters. They have their own stories, pain, dilemma, strengths and weakness – they have power to have influence on main characters as well as on us.

Do you think it's possible that D & C used to be in a relationship, but now aren't? I'm pretty convinced D is gay, as all the evidence is there, but I don't know if I believe they are currently together. Kurt/Chris in seasons 5 & 6 just didn't really seem into Blaine/Darren, which may just have been an acting choice, but the chemistry seemed different/off. It felt that Blaine/Darren was much more into Kurt/Chris, even in interviews.

Really anon? I think season 5 and 6 Klaine was pretty amazing. Ok, let me take a step back. Season 5 and 6 Klaine were treated horrifically by the writers and producers of Glee. Ryan was pissed and he did not hold back. His feelings were very much expressed by the story lines and arcs he gave those two characters. And think about this, he was willing to destroy the number one Couple on the show after the death of Cory, knowing how upset the fans would be, because of how jealous he was of Chris and Darren’s relationship.  I think this was very personal for him.

But I think Chris and Darren handled it beautifully. Their scenes together were intense and full of emotion. and hello, elevator kiss?  And did you watch them during the wedding vows? I love that part when Chris holds out the wrong finger and in the gif you can see Darren correcting him. And they way the held hands. It was actually a thing of beauty.  Darren stealing a kiss on his birthday. The unscripted Klaine kiss and the last onscreen kiss for this couple?

The summer before season 6, Chris went on national TV with a picture of a decapitated Darren and said “Too Much Love” mirroring his earlier IG post.  Klaine Explained.  That was two men that ooze chemistry and love being in each others company.  And did you watch their interactions at Paley Fest and on Ellen?  How they talk around people to have their own conversations despite the fact that they were not allowed to sit next to each other?  When Darren called Chris the life of the party and Chris was so adorably pleased with the comment.

Read the TLOS series.  Darren is all over those pages.  And Chris dedicated a book to him in the most beautiful but veiled way.

As I have said many, many times, I firmly and fully believe that Chris and Darren are still together.  Darren indicated as much just on Tuesday with his Tom Hanks tweet.  And Chris was on fire Friday.  Any person watching this mess who did not immediately identify how much he was mocking Darren’s beard in his snap, the same beard that appeared in Vancouver within an hour, is not paying attention. And if he wasn’t personally involved and communicating with Darren, no way he would have predicted her presence in advance.  And for once, he didn’t even try to pretend he was anywhere else all weekend.

They actually don’t hide their relationship as much as people think. They play the game. They have to. But they are constantly giving us gifts. And as I keep saying, it is up to us to pay attention. Sure some things could be a coincidence. But its not some things with them. Its time, after time, after time, after time.

Season 4 Finale Predictions

Wow!   Are we really here already?  As I did last season I’ll do my finale predictions as well as items we might see carry on into Season 5.  I don’t think I’m going to do as good as I did last season but here we go!

I’ll go under the thing because it got long.  I’m going dark at 4 pm MST so any asks I don’t get too before then will have to wait until tomorrow.

I’ll see you all on the other side!
