take after effects away from me

Reaper: Chapter Two

His hand was warm.

Isa pulled me to my feet. “Just a second,” he said, scanning the area.

I didn’t feel dead. I could feel the wind on my skin and my heart hammering in my chest. My hands were trembling with adrenaline. That had to be a good sign.

“Kat,” Isa said, startling me. I had been staring at my hands so intently that I hadn’t noticed he was holding out his hand to me again.

“I’m not dead,” I informed him a bit giddily, taking his hand again.

Isa didn’t smile, but the corners of his eyes crinkled. “This way,” he said, pointing with his free hand. I looked, but he seemed to be pointing towards thin air.

He led me away from the broken highway and my silver car, wading through the faded brown grass. After about twenty yards he stopped and turned to me.

“I need you to think of a place,” he said, “Any place.”

My mind went blank. “Any place?”

“Anywhere. Visualize it in your mind. Got it?” I hesitated before nodding. “Good. Now we’re going to take one more step together.”

I looked at the grass before us. It didn’t look any different from any other patch of grass we’d passed. I drew a deep breath.

“And go.”

As we stepped forward together, the air went…soft. Like a deep, thick mattress. Like holding an overripe peach in your hands and slowly pressing in your thumbs, letting them sink into it. Not hot or cold or anything like that. Just soft.

Less than a moment passed before the softness was gone; I didn’t even have time to blink. We were still standing in the grass by the highway. I could see my car close by and the mountains looming in the distance. But the edges of the mountains were vague and unclear, and the light that filtered through the clouds was tinted red, almost as though it was shining through rose-colored glass. More telling was the quiet. The wind had disappeared, and the grass was silent and still.

“You know,” Isa commented, “I think people usually choose somewhere other than the place they’re currently standing.”

“I panicked,” I responded, taking in everything around me, “Which seems to be my basic state of existence at this point.”

Unlike everything else, Isa seemed more real than ever. The basics were still the same: pale, ashy skin stretched tight over his body, white hair, and jet black eyes set deep in their sockets. His fingers and limbs were overly long for his body, and he was wearing a black hooded coat with loose sleeves, grey pants, boots, and a t-shirt with a vintage ad for spam.

However, his skin lacked the translucent quality it usually had, and his shadow -

“You have a shadow,” I blurted out, “You have a - the grass. You’re actually crushing down the grass.” I knelt down and confirmed for myself that yes, the grass could be pressed down, and then I turned around and thrust out my hand. The softness was waiting just feet behind me. “Where are we?”

“This is an inbetween place,” he replied, watching as I shuffled a few feet to the side and stuck out my hand again, “We needed somewhere safe to talk.”

I pulled my hand from the softness and tried again. “And the deserted highway wasn’t cutting it?”

Isa pressed his lips together. “It’s not humans that I’m worried about overhearing us.”

I paused mid thrust. “Oh.” The fear which had almost been forgotten in my wonder flared up.

“Here,” Isa said, and he took my hand again, leading me around whatever invisible portal we had passed through. Almost mindlessly I walked towards the car.

“Are we safe here, then?”

He shrugged. “Should be. I don’t think I was followed - there’s no good reason anyone would, really, I’m not a major player. But it’s not wise to talk about these things in the open on principle.”

We reached the car, and I stretched out my hand to touch it. It was solid under my fingers, but the numbers on the license plate were scrambled, changing every time I blinked.

Isa stopped me as I went to open the driver’s side door.

"I just wanted to see if it would start,” I said.

Isa shook his head. “It might, but it’s not wise to go through any doors here. There’s no telling where you might end up.”

A little disappointed, I perched on the trunk instead, pulling up my legs and wrapping my arms around them. Isa stood before me, hands shoved in his pockets.

“So…” I started, Isa looking at me expectantly, “Are you an angel?”

Isa burst out laughing. It was an odd sound, out of place in the unnatural silence of the inbetween.

“No, and I wouldn’t let an angel hear you say that if I were you. Actually, it would probably be fine; most angels I’ve met are quite nice. But trust me, if you ever meet an angel, you’ll know it. People tend to fall over when they show up.”

“Okay, not an angel.” There went half the theories I’d ever read. “Then what are you? And don’t say a reaper.”

“I never really liked that name anyway,” he replied. He kicked the ground for a moment, thinking. “I’m the guardian of your soul. I’ve been with you since your soul first joined your body. I will ensure no one touches it until your life is complete.”

“…And when my life is complete?”

“I take your soul,” he answered nonchalantly, “ - Kat?”

I rolled off the car, running into the field, running towards the softness.

Maybe he wasn’t an angel after all. But there were other theories about the reapers.

“Kat?” he called after me, “I’m not taking your soul here and now.”

I stumbled to a stop in a panic. The grass all looked the same. Whatever gateway we’d walked through wasn’t marked by any kind of visual cue. I was effectively trapped.

“Maybe you’re not taking it now,” I said as I turned, arms tight by my sides, hands clenched, “but you’re going to.”

Isa walked towards me slowly, “That probably wasn’t the best way for me to phrase that.” I shrank away from him instinctively, and he sighed. “This would be easier if I was an angel. They’re good at explaining things. Can I try again?”

He waited until I nodded hesitantly.

“I’m the guardian of your soul. I was bound to you the moment your soul entered your body. While you live, I’ll protect your soul from harm. When your days are complete, I’ll carry your soul to its rest. I’m not going to kill you, consume your soul, drain your life force, steal your corporeal form,  keep you in a tortured disembodied state devoid of all sensation, or anything else of that kind.”

I stared at him. “That’s…really specific.”

“But you’re not running this time,” Isa noted.

“If you’re lying, I’m screwed anyway,” I retorted.

“Ah.” Isa’s body seemed to droop ever so slightly. “I liked it better when you just trusted me.”

“And I liked it better when I wasn’t afraid I was going crazy,” I snapped. I shut my eyes and paused, willing myself to breath deeply. “I’m tired. I’m stressed and exhausted and I have no clue what’s going on. You disappeared for two weeks and I didn’t even know reapers could do that, and now you’re talking and you touched me and I’m somehow not dead and we’re in a freaking alternate dimension or something and it’s just a bit much.”

“I didn’t intend to let things get this out of hand,” Isa admitted, “I only thought I’d be gone for a few hours at most.”

Finally, the question that had been burning in my chest for weeks. “What happened? Why did you leave?”

“There was a reaper who needed help. He and his human were being targeted, and they weren’t going to make it.”

“Are they okay?”

His face brightened a bit. “They are. The woman died and he was able to deliver her soul safely.”

“Your definition of a happy ending and mine are a little different,” I muttered, “What did they need protection from?”

Isa looked grim. “There are many beings who would want to misuse a human soul,” he said softly, “And there are others who would like nothing more than to see a reaper give into the temptation to take advantage of their charge. Some of these were attacking this reaper in the hope of either claiming the soul for themselves or, if nothing else, forcing the reaper into a position where he drew on the soul for power. I thought they’d back off once I came to his aid, but they fought until the end.”

Behind Isa’s shoulder, I saw something like a dark smudge on the horizon where the mountains met the sky. A horrible sense of wrongness settled in my gut.

“I didn’t mean to leave you for so long,” he continued, “And it shouldn’t -”

“Isa,” I interrupted, pointing urgently, “There’s something here.”

Isa turned to look. The smudge was getting larger. “No,” he said, “No no no no!” He grabbed my hand.

“We need to move now!” He took off across the field, dragging me behind him. We passed through the softness and the world shifted, the rosy light turning grey. We sprinted back to my car.

I looked back towards the mountains. I couldn’t see anything.

“Get in the car,” Isa ordered, and I hurried to do so. After buckling myself in, I looked up to see Isa pull out a gun.

“Drive home as fast as you can,” he said, ignoring my shock, “And don’t stop until I say so.” With that, he swung himself onto the roof of my car.

I turned on the car and made a U-turn, pressing the pedal to the floor. A minute later gun shots rang out, and I looked into the mirror to see something burst through the portal and hurtle down the broken highway in pursuit.

A/N: This is me proving to myself I still remember how to smut. I haven’t written anything smutty for the longest of times and I have been feeling like it lately. It was harder than I thought getting back into the saddle though. Sorry if it is a bit rough - pun not intended.

It is somewhat inspired by the Ed Sheeran song Shape of You - and maybe a little by the video too.

Thanks to the sweet amazing @mysupernaturalfics for betaing this for me.

“Fuck,” she breathed out, instantly drawing Jensen’s attention. He was sprawled out his couch, waiting for Y/N to return to his side. It was movie night and she hadn’t bothered leaving the room to take the phone call. Jensen never eaves dropped and even if he was to overhear something it wouldn’t matter. There was nothing to two of them hid from each other. Literally nothing.

They had both been single for a while and some drunken night they had come to the conclusion, that helping each other blow off some steam when either of them needed it was much prefered from picking up some random dude or chick at a bar.

“If you want I am game,” Jensen teased her, throwing her his best Dean smirk, making her eyes roll so hard he was sure Jared would hear it across the hall from Jensen’s apartment.

“It’s not funny, Jensen! They offered me the part. I’m gonna be Wonder Woman,” she complained, making Jensen shoot from the couch and wrap her in his arms, spinning her around the air not caring one bit about her objection.

“That’s amazing Y/N/N,” he laughed putting her down but not releasing her from his hold, “what are you so worried about?” Jensen gently stroked her hair away from her face, studying her face and trying to figure out why she wasn’t over the moon about this. She had a tendency to overthink things. He knew that. He literally spent 2 hours on the floor of her bedroom leaning against her bathroom door trying to talk her out after the first night they had slept together.

Garbage-ass neighbor again

My jerkwad neighbor who loves parking in my driveway parked there again this winter. He apparently didn’t learn. We had several snow storms this winter and there were advisories to not park your car in the street, for plowing purposes. Of course shit nugget still doesn’t want to pay $270 for a parking pass, where he lives. My parents were visiting, so all of our cars were in my driveway. We were having dinner, and here it is in the middle of the fucking night he doesn’t call-first, nor does he ring on the door bell. He bangs on the door [not knock, there’s a difference] interrupting dinner with my family. I ask what his problem is

“I can’t park on the street, let me park in your driveway.”

Ex-fucking-cuse me?? No “May I?” let alone a “please?” I, politely said “No, you can’t” and especially since my driveway was full and it’s MY FUCKING DRIVEWAY, I’m not going to move my parents’ cars nor mine just for him to park. He left and went to demand parking in other neighbors’ driveways. They too-know he’s a piece of shit and are long fed up with him as well, so they said no.

He comes back later after hearing him swear up and down the block. He knocks again and I tell him that he can park if he gave me $60 bucks; I wager that’s the price if he wants to take my time out from having dinner with my family to move all the cars out of my driveway and have him at the end of the driveway [so he wouldn’t be blocking us in]. He starts cursing and walks away. I didn’t care; finished dinner with my family.

The next day came about and it’s when the advisory is in effect. My parents took my dad’s car and they went to get groceries, only to come back and find that asshole parked in the driveway, AGAIN! Okay. Now you wanna play? I tried calling a truck, but they were in a delay what with getting people out of their cars and the tow-truck companies are fully booked during the winter, so I wasn’t going to wait hours. I didn’t ring his doorbell or anything because I knew his response [he pretends to not be home when it’s times to alert him of his shitdickness].

Having some warm cider in my living room, I see him leave with a friend and they go out, but he rides with his friend and leaves his car in my driveway. Lightbulbs turned on. My driveway is mostly flat, thankfully, so my dad and I jacked the rear end if his car and pivoted it out of the way, and there was barely enough to wiggle my dad’s car back into the driveway. But we got it out of the way enough that we could get cars in and out of the driveway with careful maneuvering. Now he’s still gone, and so I took the jack back under his car, and jacked the car up right on its catalytic converter. Its bent and has left a slight opening in the exhaust-work.

Also left a scratch at the bases of his door, have fun with rust, in some time. It’s pretty freaking cold out and I had brought in my garden hose for the winter, but I hooked it up to my basement sink and set it on mist and thoroughly showered his car with water, giving it a decent coating of ice over the door handles, on the windshield, and windows.

The snow gets heavy and we haven’t noticed him return yet [we figure he would return because he’d have to be flumoxed about his car being covered in ice]. We got an idea, though. The snow stopped a bit and we began some shoveling and packed mounds of snow around his car, thus making it inaccessible.

He returns and asks what happened to his car. I ask him why he parked where people shovel snow into piles. He knew damn well he parked there, but it was fun watching him take an entire day trying to melt the ice and free his car. He said he was going to call the cops, and so I told him to, he didn’t since he probably knew he would get fined and I can charge him with trespassing. Dumbass also thought it was a good idea to try and melt ice with hot water; cracked his windshield. Have fun with rust and an exhaust leak. Try it again. Play stupid ass games, win fucking stupid-ass prizes.

TL;DR Neighbor still parked in my driveway and interrupted dinner with my family, so I iced him in and left him some surprises with his car.

Oversized Sweater || Peter Parker

“i really love Spider-Man. I feel like I shouldn’t, but i do.”

“Jen, I have a Spider-Man shower curtain. If you’re looking for someone to shame you for loving Peter Parker, it’s certainly not gonna come from me.”

-me to my best friend about our mutual love for Spidey.

Here’s my first time posting a Peter Parker reader insert on tumblr. I’m supposed to be working on requests for DeviantArt but ssssh, I’ll get to it later. I just wanna indulge in Peter Parker for a little while longer 💕

Today had been awful for you, and you needed your daily dose of Peter cuddles in order to make it to the weekend.

“Ugh, fuck Tuesdays, honestly.”

Because 99% of the teachers in Midtown High were out to get you, you had to deal with pop quizzes for half of your classes and you had been called on numerous times to answer questions you didn’t even know the answers to.

It felt like you had been made into a complete laughingstock throughout the day, and you were honestly exhausted.

There was no way you were going home after this shitty day.

Earlier, you had texted your parents, letting them know that you planned to stay the night at Peter’s place, and you were super grateful that they let you go without a single complaint.

You knew that they would let you spend the night at his house because he was basically your best friend in the whole world. Ignoring the fact that you had feelings for him, you were okay with being his best friend and did your best to support him when he DID have crushes. (Damn you Liz Allan for winning Peter’s affections just from existing!)

Letting out a sigh of relief when you arrived at Peter’s apartment complex, you walk up the creaky steps and greeted the neighbors that passed by with a smile on your face.

Arriving at Peter’s apartment, you knock on the door and wait a few beats, hoping that Aunt May wouldn’t mind you spending the night. After waiting a few minutes, you hear the lock unlatch before revealing a cheerful woman as she greeted you with a wide smile. “[Name], it’s good to see you! Unfortunately, Peter will be working a bit late and won’t be home until much later.”

“That’s fine! I’m used to his crazy schedule, anyways.” You step into the apartment and detect the scent of cinnamon and apples in the air, “Ohh, are you making something Aunt May?”

“I am. I wanted to treat Peter with his favorite apple pie since he’s been so good. Has he told you about the internship he got with Mr. Stark?”

You nod, “He has. But again, it comes as no surprise to me since he’s so smart. Do you mind if I help you?” You ask with a beaming smile on your face.

"Are you kidding me? I was counting on your help!”

You spend the next couple of hours baking with Aunt May. During that time, both of you shared embarrassing stories pertaining to Peter as you each got bits of sugar and flour in your hair from how much you were giggling.

It was nearing 10 in the evening when you and May finished baking the pie and had a quick dinner of meatballs and spaghetti. She saves a plate for Peter and places it in the fridge when you excused yourself.

"I think I’m gonna wait for Peter in his room.”

"That’s fine dear, but remember-”

Yes, I’ll keep the door open. Jeez, I keep telling you there’s nothing to worry about since Peter only sees me as like, his sister. Goodnight May!”

The older woman laughs and responds with her own “Goodnight.” When she sees that you have disappeared into Peter’s room, she shakes her head, practically in disbelief at how oblivious you were when it came to her beloved nephew’s feelings for you.

You sigh and throw your schoolbag against the corner of Peter’s room. Scratching the back of your head, you quickly rummage through the drawers and found the sweater and pair of sweatpants you always wore when you spent the night. Holding his clothes close to your chest, you snuggle them for a few seconds before putting them on.

Of course the clothes were a little long on you, but you were too busy acknowledging the fact that you were surrounded with Peter’s comforting scent.

You really didn’t care how much his clothes dwarfed your form.

You breathe in deeply, smelling the faint scent of his cologne. With a dreamy smile on your face, you fall into Peter’s twin sized bed and curled up against his pillow, nuzzling its softness before shutting your eyes.

It was close to midnight when Peter finished his nightly patrol around the city. When he came home, he was greeted with the mouth watering scent of apple pie and spaghetti. Going into the kitchen, he sees the note that Aunt May left him:

Dinner is in the fridge, your favorite pie is on the counter ♡ ps- [name] is spending the night so please be quiet when you come home!

His appetite was long forgotten when he realized that –you– were here. With his heart hammering in anticipation, Peter tiptoes to his room and sees you curled up in his bed.

His heart melts at the sight of you, and he feels a strange type of possessiveness wash over him. You looked good in his clothes, and he would do anything to keep you by his side.

No other man would ever know the pleasure of you wearing their clothes.

Shrugging off his hoodie, he throws it to the side and gets on the bed with you, being careful with his movements so that you wouldn’t awaken. With an almost reverent touch, he runs the back of his hand against your cheek.

“You’re so beautiful. You’ll never know how much I want you to be mine…” his heart continued its rapid gallop, and he felt all of his hesitation disappear at the sight of your sleeping face. Taking advantage of the fact that you were unconscious, Peter leans in and presses a kiss against your lips.

"I love you.”

In your sleepy haze, you heard him and wrap your arms around his neck, opening your eyes just a tiny bit as a smirk adorned your features, “So you love me? I thought you had a thing for Liz.”

Peter stutters, feeling flustered at hearing your sleepy voice and looking at your features at such a close proximity. You prevent him from pulling away by kissing him again, effectively silencing his nervous rants when he kissed you back.

After a few minutes, you pull away and look into his sweet brown eyes, hearing him admit, “I only had a mild crush on Liz. You are the one I’ve always wanted.”

You giggle and kiss the bottom of his jaw. “Tell me, what made you finally admit your undying love for me? I… I honestly thought I didn’t have a chance with you.”

Peter chuckles before pulling you toward him in a warm hug, making you settle against his chest when he lays back. He kisses the top of your head, “It’s me who thought I wouldn’t have a chance with you because you’re too good for me. But to answer your question…”

Peter trails off and places his hand on the sweater your were currently wearing. Your breath hitches when he gently reaches in and touches your skin from beneath the fabric, “Seeing you wearing my clothes has always been a weakness of mine, and I couldn’t stand just having you as a friend anymore.”

You giggle and nuzzle Peter’s chest before leaning up to press a kiss against the base of his throat. “Then I should wear your sweaters more often.”

mysticlane  asked:

Prompt: um Harry and Draco going out already, but they had a big misunderstanding(Draco thinking Harry is cheating after seeing him alittle too close[physically] with a girl) and he start avoiding Harry. Draco becomes too deep into his thoughts to actually pay attention in his potion class and he accidentally drank a temporary memory diminishing type of potion instead of a memory enhancement. Now its all yours! 🤗

I hope this is something like what you imagined :)

“Alright, class! Time to test your potions!” Slughorn proclaimed to the class of eighth years.

The professor’s voice was what broke Draco out of his Harry-centric reverie. Draco shook his head resolutely as he doled out a portion of his Memory-Enhancing potion into a cup. “I have to stop getting so distracted,” he thought to himself. “Dwelling on my problems with Harry won’t fix anything.” Draco took a swig of his potion and nearly spit up at the taste of it. Strange. A Memory-Enhancing potion was supposed to taste like blueberries. Still, Draco downed the rest of what was in the cup.

And then suddenly Draco was very confused. Where was he? Potions class, it seemed. But why was he there? The last thing he could remember was falling asleep on the Hogwarts Express with his head on Pansy’s shoulder.

“Draco?” Granger said from the desk next to his. “Are you okay?”

“No,” Draco responded, because he wasn’t okay. He didn’t understand. Why was Granger being nice to him? And why in Merlin’s name couldn’t he remember anything. Draco began to feel dizzy as innumerable questions swirled in his mind.

“Draco,” Granger said, her voice filled with concern.

Draco stepped away from her, saying, “I don’t need your help,” and promptly fainted.

When Draco awoke, he was in the hospital wing, and Madam Pomfrey was hovering above him.

“Good, you’re awake,” Pomfrey said. She helped Draco sit up and adjusted his pillows before handing the blond a glass of pale blue liquid.

“What’s happened to me?” Draco asked, taking the glass but only after eyeing it suspiciously.

“You made a mistake when preparing your Memory-Enhancing potion, and from my assessment, it seems that the potion had quite the opposite effect.”

“I don’t understand.”

“You’ve lost your memory, dear. Of the past four months at least.” Pomfrey smiled sympathetically at Draco as she let this sink in. “Good news is that this has happened before. I have potion, there,” she indicated the pale blue solution, “that will restore your memories. In eight hours, everything will come back to you.”

Draco nodded. He sniffed the drink tentatively before swallowing it all in one gulp. It tasted like blueberries.

“Very good,” Pomfrey said. She took the glass. “Now get some rest and allow the potion to do its work.”

Pomfrey stalked away, her robes swishing, and Draco regarded the empty hospital wing thoughtfully. The room was dark and quiet, so Draco assumed it was now nighttime, or at least evening. The last time he remembered being alone in this part of the castle was after Harry tried to kill him in sixth year. Draco shuddered at the memory. A part of him always wanted to believe that Harry truly didn’t know what he was doing when he cast that spell, but he never had the chance to talk to Harry about it after the war. Or maybe he had. Maybe he just couldn’t remember it. Maybe he had talked to Harry about it, and that led to him talking to Harry about other things, and he and Harry had become friends. Or even more than friends. Draco allowed himself to fantasize about this for a moment, and then pushed those treacherous thoughts away. Draco dating Harry Potter, the wonder boy? That could never happen.

Draco’s daydreams about Harry were suddenly interrupted by Harry himself barging into the hospital wing.

“Draco,” Harry said. He rushed towards the blond’s bedside and grasped his hand. “I’m so glad you’re okay, baby. Hermione made it sound like something awful.” Harry lifted Draco’s hand to his face and kissed it tenderly.

Draco’s jaw dropped. What. The. Bloody. Hell. He could not believe Harry just called him baby, and he found it even more unbelievable that Harry just kissed him, or his hand anyway. And oh God, Harry’s lips were soft. Draco wanted to feel Harry’s lips all over his body.

“P- Potter?” Draco said, his tone revealing his disbelief.

“What?” Harry looked up to Draco’s face and, seeing the expression of shock there, he immediately dropped Draco’s hand. “Oh. I see how it is,” Harry said defensively. “You’re still mad at me then. I told you, Draco, it’s nothing like you think-”

“Mad at you? What are you- what are you talking about? What’s going on?”

“What’s going on is that I love you and you’re too insecure to believe me!” Harry stood up from his crouched position and turned his back to Draco.

“Potter, didn’t you talk to Pomfrey?” Draco asked, although he was still trying to recover from the emotional toll of hearing Harry Potter saying that he loved him. “I fainted in Potions because I accidently made a Memory Loss potion instead of a Memory-Enhancing one.”

When Harry turned around to face Draco again, his arms were crossed and his eyes were skeptical. “You, messing up in Potions? Not likely.”

Draco couldn’t help it, he preened. “That’s true. I obviously cannot say why I messed up, since I cannot remember it, but I must have been distracted by something quite dire.”

“Something like the current state of our relationship?” Harry said bitterly, glaring at the floor.

“What relationship? Potter, I can’t remember anything since the first day of school.”

Harry narrowed his eyes. “What year?”

“This year, you moron. Eighth year. Pomfrey said I must have lost about four months. That makes this, what, January?”

“Nearly February,” Harry answered grudgingly. He pulled up a chair next to Draco’s bed and sat down.

Draco watched him with curiosity. “What was all of that before?” he asked. “With the hand holding and the ‘I love you’?”

Harry flushed and he shifted in his chair awkwardly. “That was…” Harry couldn’t seem to think of any way to answer. “Are you ever going to remember the past few months?”

“In eight hours,” Draco reported matter-of-factly.

Harry sighed. “Then there’s really no point of me filling you in, is there?”

“Yes, there is! The point is that I want to know, not in eight hours, but now. I want to know now,” Draco insisted.

Harry sighed again, but he smiled a little. “You can be so obstinate at times, you know that?”

Draco smiled contentedly. “I know.”

Harry grinned full out now. “Fine. Ask me anything.”

“Are we dating?”

“Yes. Er, no. I don’t know? I hope we still are. We’ve been fighting lately.”

“Why would we fight? Is it about the war?”

“No. We’ve forgiven each other for everything that happened in the war. We’re fighting about something trivial. Something stupid. You started it.”

Draco snorted. “I find that hard to believe.”

“It’s true. You’re jealous. Of Ginny. Which is ridiculous.”

“How is that ridiculous? She’s your ex-girlfriend.”

“It’s ridiculous because I am completely, veritably, incontestably in love with you.”

Draco nearly flinched at the intensity of Harry’s proclamation. “Am I in love with you?” he asked quietly, shyly.

Harry ran a hand through his hair, seemingly oblivious to how attractive the action was. “I thought so. But if you really loved me, wouldn’t you trust me?”

“I don’t know,” Draco said honestly. “Maybe I’m just scared. Scared to lose you.”

Harry’s gaze locked on Draco’s and for a moment Draco thought he could the past four months in Harry’s eyes.

“You don’t have to be scared of that. I’m never going to leave you,” Harry said, the words almost a whisper. Harry stood to go, but Draco wrapped his hand around Harry’s arm.

“Stay. For the night, I mean. And when we wake up, I’ll remember everything.”

Harry looked at Draco with affection in his expression, but he was still reluctant.

“Please stay, Harry. You said you’d never leave me.”

That was what destroyed the last of Harry’s restraint. In an instant, he was kissing Draco passionately, willing all his memories to be transferred to the blond through his lips. When the two broke apart, neither of them spoke. Draco simply scooted over to make room for Harry and Harry lay down next to Draco after setting his glasses on the bedside table. The couple ended up laying on their sides, facing each other, breaths mingling, eyes fixed upon the other’s face.

“When we wake up, and you have your memories back, will you go back to being mad at me?” Harry said softly. He traced the contours of Draco’s face with a finger, his touch feather-light.

“No. I promise I won’t.”

Harry smiled at this and pulled Draco into his arms. Draco felt his heart beat a million times a minute, like the first time he rode a broom. He couldn’t wait until morning, when he would remember all the times Harry had held him like this before, all the times Harry had kissed him before, all the times Harry told Draco he loved him before.

“Good night, Draco,” Harry whispered. He burrowed his head into the crook of Draco’s neck.

“Good night, Harry. I’ll see you in the morning.”

Drunken Kisses |Joe Sugg|

Summary -  Can you do one where y/n and joe have a really funny and drunk conversation, but like still sharing their love and exchange kisses and stuff?

“Why can’t I have another shot?” Joe whined, reaching for the tiny glass that was perched on the edge of the table in front of him.

“Joe, you’ve had enough.” Caspar chuckled, standing up from his seat and prising the glass out of Joe’s grip.

“I only want one more.” Joe muttered, leaning against Caspar’s shoulder as Caspar rolled his eyes at his friend.

Joe was completely out of it; you were drunk but no way near as bad as Joe was. But this one of the many reasons you enjoyed visiting London, because it was a chance for you to let your hair down and enjoy yourself. Joe made the visit more enjoyable; you had to admit that to yourself.

“Y/N will give me another shot, won’t you?” Joe slurred, leaning over to you and draping his arm around your shoulder, eyeing up the glass you had in your hand.

Caspar gave you a look, knowing that Joe would be the one to pay for it and Caspar would have to be the one to look after him.

“Sorry, no can do. If looks could kill, Caspar would have put me six feet under.” You chuckled, your head swimming as the effects of the last couple of shots started to take effect.

“Please?” Joe begged as Caspar looked away from you both to talk to Conor.

Giggling to yourself, you handed him another shot before Joe downed it quickly before Caspar had the chance to look back.

Looking at Joe, you smiled to yourself. He was actually very cute when he was drunk. His eyes were brighter, his cheeks were flushed due to the alcohol and he just sat cuddling everyone, and these were just a few of the reasons why you loved him.

“Did you give him another one?” Caspar sighed, trying his hardest to suppress a smile. Caspar obviously wasn’t actually angry at you, though he did find it annoying when he had to baby sit Joe sometimes, but Joe also did it when Caspar was drunk so that makes things even between them.

“No, she didn’t!” Joe shouted in protest, lying down on the sofa and resting his head in your lap. “Don’t shout at Y/N!”

Caspar chuckled to himself and shook his head. “I am not shouting Joe, you are actually.”

You looked down at Joe who was staring back up at you, his eyes sparkling in the dim lights of the club.

“Hey.” He chuckled, his eyes fixed on yours.

“Hey.” You grinned, gently running your fingers through his hair. Sometimes it was hard to believe that you and Joe were just friends, you acted like you were in a relationship, flirting all of the time and laughing together, cuddling and watching movies.

It was amazing having a friend that you could do all of that with and not have anything that was overly complicated.

“You look really pretty.” Joe slurred, letting out a little hiccup.

“How much have you had to drink exactly?” you chuckled, shaking your head as you continued to play with his hair.

Since your eyes were fixed on Joe, and his on you, neither of you noticed Caspar and Conor staring at you, both with smiles on their faces.

“He’s always happy when Y/N is here.” Caspar told Conor, speaking loud enough that Conor could hear him over the music, but not so loud that you or Joe could hear. Not that you would, you were both too involved in your own conversation to notice that Caspar and Conor were talking about you both, and still staring.

“I know, he’s like a little puppy.” Conor chuckled, sipping the drink from his glass.

“Hopefully Y/N can look after him tonight instead of him bugging me. Joe just sits there laughing and cuddling anyone that sits near him. I’m praying it’s Y/N instead of me tonight.” Caspar told Conor, chuckling as he looked over at you and Joe again.

“Can you help me get him home?” You asked, looking as Caspar desperately as Joe was trying his hardest to climb into your lap.

“Carry me home!” Joe begged, giggling to himself.

“Come on mate.” Caspar chuckled, placing his glass on the table and saying goodbye to Conor, strolling over to you and picked Joe up off your lap with minimal effort.

You quickly hugged Conor and followed Caspar outside, who had now placed Joe firmly on the floor but he had pulled Joe’s arm around his neck.

The cold air of the night hit your face instantly and this actually helped the effects of the alcohol. For some strange reason, it made you sober up a little bit.

However, it didn’t have that same effect on Joe.

There were people outside, just as drunk as Joe as they were stumbling around laughing. The girls were struggling to stand upright in their heels and the guys were singing drunkenly to a song that sounded as if it was made up on the spot.

“I’m too short for this, you’re too tall!” Joe whined, trying his hardest to pull away from Caspar. “It’s hurting my arm to reach up this high.”

“Put his arm around me then, but stand on his other side.” You chuckled, trading places with Caspar as Joe wrapped his arm around your neck and Caspar took Joe’s arm in his hand just incase he decided to throw himself on the floor.

“I’m not even drunk, why are you carrying me?” Joe whined, his speech getting even more slurred.

“If you’re not drunk, stand up. On your own, and don’t fall over.” You chuckled, shaking your head at his denial.

“Fine!” Joe shouted, pulling his arm free from your neck and he tried to take a step forward but fell forward. He would have fallen on the floor if Caspar had let go of his arm.

“Come on.” You chuckled to yourself, trying helping Joe into a taxi. With great difficulty, Caspar was the one that actually got Joe into the taxi.

“How you feeling?” you asked Joe, resting your hand on his knee as his head was currently nuzzled into the crook of your neck.

“Fine, I’m not drunk. I promise.” He chuckled, looking up at you.

Even though it was cold outside as it was the middle of November, his face was still red from the alcohol and you felt the warmth of his skin against your neck. The heat of his skin caused goose bumps to travel down your arms and it sent shivers down your spine.

You had been this close to Joe before, obviously. You spent most nights cuddling him on the sofa when you visited London, but this felt different.

“You are drunk, don’t try denying it.” You chuckled, keeping your eyes on him. You didn’t know why your eyes were stuck to him, but you couldn’t tare your eyes away.

Caspar took note of this as well, as he had slid his phone out of his jacket pocket and had taken a snapchat of you both sitting extremely close.

“I’m not drunk!” Joe argued in protest, sitting up right. Joe’s raised voice caused some strange looks from the driver. Joe’s head was now resting on top of yours instead of on your shoulder, so now your face was nuzzled against his neck. Not that you could help it, but you inhaled deeply and the shivers down your spine returned as you smelt Joe’s aftershave.

You hardly noticed that you had actually pulled up outside of the boys flat until Caspar had pointed it out.

You quickly paid the driver before Caspar helped Joe into their flat after you’d opened the door and flicked the light switch on. Caspar sat Joe on the sofa, and handed him a bottle of water.

“Thanks Caspar.” You smiled at him, feeling more sober since you’d left the club.

“I’m gonna head to sleep, give me a shout if you need anything.” Caspar smiled, giving you a quick hug before heading to his room.

You sat next to Joe on the sofa and kicked off your heels as Joe held the bottle of water against his knee.

“Come on, you need to keep drinking.” You told him, moving his hand with the water bottle in back up to his lips.

“I’m not thirsty though.” Joe complained, leaning against your shoulder again.

“Well, drink that anyway and then we can put you in bed can’t we?” you chuckled brushing his hair out of his eyes.

“Fine.” Joe mumbled, drinking the rest of water while spilling some of it down his chin.

“Come here. You’re like a bloody child.” You chuckled, gently wiping his chin.

Joe eyes sparkled in the light as his eyes fixated on you.

“I’m so happy you’re here, Y/N. You honestly have no idea how much I’ve missed you.” Joe let out a deep sigh as he threw the plastic water bottle on the floor.

“I’ve missed you too.” You smiled slightly, lying on his chest as Joe wrapped his arm around your shoulders. Joe started to play with your fingers, humming to himself as he concentrated on your hand as you tangled your fingers with his. Just by touching his hand, it was as if electricity was flowing through you both.

You looked up at Joe, half expecting him to be staring into space, but no, he was staring right at you.

“What?” You asked, letting out a slightly nervous giggle. The way he was looking at you was causing butterflies to flutter around your stomach.

“Nothing.” Joe mumbled, the drunken smile suddenly fading from his face.

“Joe? What’s wrong?” You asked, shifting slightly on the sofa so were sat cross legged on the sofa.

“Just shut up for a second.” Joe muttered, sitting up straight and moving his hand to your waist before leaning in.

Leaning your forehead against his, you copied his actions and leant forward until finally your lips met. You shifted forward slightly until your legs were pressed against Joe’s. This was as close as you could get to him without actually being sat on him.

After a minute or so, you both pulled away and your face flushed as red as Joe’s did earlier, but your blushing was for a different reason other than the fact you had been drinking alcohol.

“Erm, so.” Joe chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck as he looked at you shyly.

“What was that for?” you asked, biting down on your bottom lip.

“I don’t know. I just-” Joe started before you leant forward and crashed your lips against his again.

“Ouch, for fuck sake Y/N.” Joe laughed as he pulled away, his bottom lip now having a small cut on the left side. “You practically head butted me.”

“Shit, sorry.” You chuckled. “I was going for such a romantic moment then.”

You stood up and went over to the sink, grabbing a cloth and holding it under the cold tap for a few seconds before sitting next to Joe again and holding the cloth against his lip.

“I didn’t mean to do that.” You told him, feeling guilty.

“I didn’t think you’d draw blood for our second kiss.” Joe chuckled, wiping the side of his mouth with the back of his hand. “Maybe our third.”

You rolled your eyes and chuckled to yourself.

“Third? There’s going to be another one?” You teased, nudging his arm with your elbow.

Joe chuckled and looked at you, his hand moving to your cheek.

“Definitely.” He mumbled, leaning forward and pressing his lips against yours again as your hands moved to his chest.

“Drunken kisses are my favourite.” Joe giggled as you pulled away from him and rested your head on his shoulder.

“Why’s that?” You asked.

“Because I know I’m still gonna remember this in the morning but I’m still gonna have that little buzz from being drunk. Best feeling.” Joe chuckled, shrugging his shoulders.

You chuckled quietly as you both lead down on the sofa, Joe’s arms still around you.

“I can’t be bothered with moving to bed, stay here and cuddle me.” Joe begged, his voice now sounding more tired than slurred.

Chuckling quietly, you both fell asleep tiredly in each others arms, the thought of those drunken kisses flowing through your mind.

Peter sits beside his best friend, Ned, during lunch. Since Ned was just about the only person that would ever be caught talking to him, they were in the midst of an intense debate on who would win in a battle between him Spider-Man and Iron Man.

Ned was all for Iron Man, and admittedly, Peter felt a little hurt at how little faith he had in him Spider-Man winning.

“I mean, you gotta hand it to Spider-Man for being able to improvise-” Peter suddenly trails off, completely losing his train of thought when Liz Allan stepped into the cafeteria with her group of friends. Ned, not knowing what had happened, begins to nudge at Peter’s shoulder, “Dude, what’s wrong with you? Why did you…stop?”

Ned follows Peter’s line of sight to see Liz walking across the cafeteria. Involuntarily, Peter let’s out a sigh and continues to admire Liz’s beauty. “So…did Liz get a new top?”

“No, you’ve seen that before. Never with that skirt, though.” Ned answers with a bit of a dreamy lull to his voice.

“We should probably stop staring before it gets creepy though.” Peter states while still openly admiring her.

“Yeah.” Ned agrees, but neither one of them even attempts to look away from Liz.

A sudden giggle makes both Peter and Ned turn toward the sound, and they look to the end of the table to see [Name] with a wide grin on her face, “Too late. You guys are such losers.”

Peter frowns at her and holds out a hand while Ned simply pouted at her, their expressions successfully making [Name] laugh even louder in response. Peter kept staring at her, somehow feeling his face turn red at seeing her smile again.

Has her eyes always been that bright?

And were her lips always that full?

Shit, what is wrong with me?

“Anyways, I’d love to sit and chat with you guys, but I’ve got classes to attend. Later, you lovesick losers.” She gives them a wave before gathering her textbooks and leaving the cafeteria. When she was gone, Ned lets out a scoff before jutting a thumb in her direction, “Hey, isn’t she that chick that’s basically in all of your classes?”

Peter nods, “Yeah, she’s pretty smart-”

“But not as smart as you though, huh? Maybe that’s why she was calling you a loser, because she holds a bit of a grudge against you.” Ned laughs, making Peter grin before playfully pushing him aside.

“Shut up. [Name] would never be that petty.”

The bell suddenly rings, indicating the end of lunch. Both boys reluctantly pick up their trays, placing them against the rack before exiting the cafeteria, “Well, I’m off to Trig. Later Peter.”

Peter nods at Ned and slowly makes his way to his Chemistry class, hoping that whatever he felt with [Name] was just a momentary thing and that he wouldn’t act so weird upon seeing her again.

He was wrong, so wrong, and he hadn’t been this wrong in such a long time.

The moment he walked into the classroom and saw [Name] sitting in her usual seat up front, he was too busy staring at her to even notice the desk in front of him.

It was only when Peter ran the side of his hip into the desk’s corner that he realized he had been blatantly staring at [Name]. Peter running into the desk causes some pain to go through him as a few of the students laughed at him, making [Name] turn to face him in response.

With her (color) eyes honed in on him, Peter felt his whole face turn red as he stuttered out an apology before quickly sitting on his assigned seat in the middle row.

His hands were slightly trembling when he takes out his lead pencil and notebook, refusing to look up until he heard a soft voice call out his name.

He looks up, realizing that [Name] was staring at him. Peter gulps and tries to keep from becoming tongue tied, “Y-Yes [Name]?”

She frowns at him and asks, “Are you okay? You’re not too hurt from when you ran into the desk, right?” Her question makes a bunch of the students laugh, making her glare at all of them in response. When they stop their laughter, she faces him again, “Anyways, are you okay?”

“I-I’m fine! Really, uhm, thanks for asking.”

She smiles at him with genuine relief in her eyes, (Fuck fuck fuck, why is my heart twisting like this?) “That’s good. Try to be more careful next time you lovesick loser.” [Name] tells him before turning around in her seat.

Peter’s heart dropped a little bit upon hearing her nickname for him.

I guess that’s all I’ll ever be in front of her eyes, a total lovesick loser.

For several days, Peter tried to deny his growing feelings for [Name], saying that there was no way she could live up to Liz Allan (despite how pretty he found [Name] to be).

But Peter was really bad at hiding the truth from himself, and it certainly didn’t help that he saw her every day within all of his classes.

When [Name] wasn’t looking, Peter would stare at her and think of ways to approach her.

Should I ask her out?

Or should I just talk to her?

Maybe I should pretend that I don’t know a certain lesson and ask for her notes? Fuck, never mind. She would never believe me and would know that something is up!

This debate seemed to happen for Peter on a near daily basis, and he figured the only way to put her out of his mind was to completely immerse himself in his superhero work. While he was webbing throughout the city, he keeps his eyes focused on the background, looking for any signs of trouble.

A sudden scream makes his whole body tense as his mind was working on high alert. Finding the general area where the scream came from, Peter begins shooting his web throughout the city and lands in the middle of a park. Turning around, he sees a figure running toward him, not seeing him as they kept their gaze on their pursuer from behind.

Peter successfully stops the figure from running any further when they land against his chest, screaming again when they felt his arms wrap around them.

Finally seeing the person for the first time when they turn around, he felt his throat clench up when [Name] looked up at him with a terrified expression on her face, “Oh thank god, it’s you! Spider-Man, please help me…! This man was stalking me, and he h-has a knife in his hand.”

Knowing that she was in danger makes Peter strengthen his resolve when he suddenly pushes [Name] behind him, “Stay back, I’ll handle this. I promise, I’ll protect you.”

She gives him a shaky nod, wrapping both arms around her chest when her stalker suddenly appeared. He stops and looks over at Spider-Man, clearly not believing that Peter was the real deal when he laughs. “Alright kid, Comic Con is over. Ya can take ya little pretty costume somewhere else. Just give me the girl, and I promise I won’t nick ya.”

Peter was beyond furious when he expertly aimed his web shooters at the man’s knife, making the synthetic silk stick on to the knife before pulling it away. The stalker seemed dumbfounded, looking from his empty hand to his knife that was suddenly webbed to the ground. After taking a few minutes to realize that he was the real deal, the man attempts to run only to have Peter shoot his web around his legs, effectively tripping him when he landed flat on his face.

Peter heard [Name] let out a strained “Ouch” when they both heard something crack when he faceplanted on the hard cement. Knowing that he had successfully stopped [Name’s] attacker, Peter faces her and pulls her into his arms, “Wha-”

Making sure that his voice was significantly deeper, he tells her, “Don’t worry about it. Just hang on tight.” Keeping her safely pressed against him, Peter makes his web shooter land on top of a building before swinging toward it with [Name] in his arms. “If you don’t mind me asking, where do you live?”

She shakily tells him her address, and he swings across the city with an almost seamless knowledge of the city. In a total of ten minutes, he arrives at the rooftop of [Name’s] apartment complex, slowly letting go of her as she slid down on the ground.

Her hands were still pressed on his chest when she moaned, burying her face within his chest. Peter stiffens and shakily asks her, “A-Are you okay? Were you hurt?”

“No, I’m fine…I’m just- argh. I guess you can say I was mad at myself.”

“Why are you mad at yourself? You shouldn’t be, because you look like a girl that could do no wrong.” Peter tells her honestly.

Hearing his words makes her shake her head, “No, you don’t understand. I’m a total bitch. I get jealous of my crush who’s always ogling this seemingly perfect girl, and because of my jealousy, I’m sure I made him hate my guts.”

She pulls away from him with a sigh, “I keep on calling him a lovesick loser, but really, all I want is for Peter to look at me like he looks at Liz. I like him so much, but he never notices me.”

“That’s why I was nearly attacked today, because I wanted some time by myself to think about what I need to do when it came to Peter. I was too distracted and didn’t know that I was being followed…until the very last minute.”

Peter was panicking now, having all of these thoughts running through his mind as he tried to play it cool. “I-I’m sure this uhm, Peter guy wouldn’t hate you. M-Maybe you should just try talking to him?”

His question makes her laugh, “Yeah sure, that’s pretty easy. I’ll profess my feelings for him, only to be rejected by him in front of the entire school. Not gonna happen, Spidey.”

She sighs once more and steps closer to him, placing a gentle kiss against his cheek, “But thank you for saving me. I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again so that you can focus on rescuing more important people.”

[Name] was about to walk back into her apartment when Peter stops her by placing a hand on her wrist, “You’re important too, s-so if you ever need help, just call out my name and I swear I’ll come to you.”

Her mouth was slightly open with surprise before forming into a wide smile, the expression making his heart do somersaults from within his chest, “Honestly Spider-Man, thank you.”

The next day, he tells Ned of his plans before the start of school to make sure that he was alone on the table with [Name] during lunch. Despite him being super nervous, he used her involuntary confession to him yesterday to build up his courage.

[Name] liked him back; she has always liked him back.

And it was time for him to make her happy.

After a few hours of waiting in agony, lunch period came. Peter was so nervous that he didn’t have much of an appetite, so he skipped getting a tray and went straight to his usual table, this time sitting across from [Name’s] usual seat.

The following minutes that lead up to her arrival was when Peter was the most nervous. He couldn’t seem to stop his leg’s jittery movements nor the way he picked at his fingers.

When [Name] finally appeared, he felt butterflies erupt all across his abdomen, filling him with the fluttery feeling of sheer anticipation at the mere sight of her. He notices her questioning glance, but she says nothing to him and simply takes her usual seat across from him. “Hello Peter.”

“H-Hey [Name].”

She nods and opens her notebook and Biology textbook, filling in some notes as Peter kept staring at her, waiting for the right time to talk to her. Things were getting a little awkward now when no sound came out of his mouth. He was so busy admiring the way the sunlight shone against her hair that he didn’t even hear or notice her when she looked up at him.

“Peter, what’s wrong with you? Why are you staring at me like that, I’m not Liz.”

Her words brings him out of his daydream when he manages to say (with a slight stutter), “I kn-know you’re not. You’re prettier than her, a-anyways.”

He saw the way her eyes widened at his compliment, and he felt a little bit of his anxiety disappear upon seeing her blush, “You- Peter, are you saying that you were actually staring at me?”

“Y-Yeah. I…I think I’m falling for you, [Name]. I have no reason or explanation as to why I like you so much, but I do. A-Actually, no, I kn-know why I keep staring at you, it’s because you’re just an a-all around amazing girl.  I-I’ve become a lovesick loser for you, s-so if it’s o-okay with you, would y-you like to go o-out sometime?”

When [Name] smiled at him, Peter swore to never forget this moment as she leaned across the table to place a kiss against his lips.

Definitely yes.”

OK, hold up. Salvador’s speech clearly “hurt” some singers whose songs are “fast-food” and disposable. And you know what, Robin and Alex? Fuck you guys. I won’t respect your opinions.

Let’s face it. Is “I Can’t Go On” fast food music? Absofuckinglutely. Do we like it? Yes, most of us. Because it sounds nice in the background.

I won’t even talk about that song which literally compined rap and yodeling in a weird way. I like Yodel It, but come one, that song is a total joke.

Yes we can like those “fast food” songs. But we also see they are trash and don’t have any artistic values.

On the other hand, Amar Pelos Dois is musical masterpiece as an art form. Many people (including me and Artsvik) cried after his performance, without understanding its language.

That’s how you touch people with your music.

Let’s take the staging and effects away from Sweden and Romania. You will literally have a bunch of stupid lyrics. However, there was no staging tricks in Portugal’s songs. That night, only the music was up there.

Portugal won both jury’s and people’s votes. Portugal is the only country who speaks Portuguese in Europe. Which means, people are affected even though they didn’t understand the lyrics.

And that, my friends, what the real music does.

So, shut the fuck up, stop crying like whiny babies. If you are a true musician, you should celebrate how the real music won in a contest where popular culture has control on.

You're making me so Emo talking about s1 isak and then how protective even is of him now and sigh they're soulmates

I don’t want it to come off as one-sided since they’re obviously protective of each other but yeah~ Isak in s1… there was a lot he wanted that he thought he couldn’t have, there was a lot he was pretending was okay when it really wasn’t, there were a lot of churning feelings that he didn’t express.

But I like that Isak never really put a front with Even in the first place? Which is something that became so obligatory for him to do. It’s their first time really talking in Mekke øl and Even is already seeing through “it’s the music you listen to when you want to feel tough”, that he’s posturing a bit with Isak’s then unsuccessful “Nas?”. Isak was there, with all this attraction and want in his eyes, flirting with him… Even might not have known then just how big that was for Isak but I think he gets it. He gets it when they’re in the kitchen and Isak’s averting his eyes and calling Sonja “sweet”. And then as soon as they’re together, he’s letting Even into his past, into his view on universe, into “I’m sure in a parallel universe, there’s an Isak and an Even lying in the exact same way”. Isak always let Even see him and I think that he’ll always see that heart, that Isak trusted him with so easily, when he looks at him. He didn’t really know Isak as anyone else.

I mean, one of the big parts of s3 is Even being too protective of Isak, thinking he needs to protect him even from himself. The line “Yeah, but haven’t you thought about it?” always sticks with me because you can just see Even wanting to keep his darker thoughts away from him spiral out from there. He’s got to learn that Isak can handle it. That Isak doesn’t need sheltering from him and in fact when he needs it, Isak can be that shelter for him too. They can take on whatever they need to, they’re in this together. I think it’s a slow, unsteady process to accept that but he’s on it.

And then in s4, we got to see that in a crisis, everything falls away for Even except how this effects Isak. It really struck me that in an actual adrenaline-filled conflict, he’s so calm. Nothing shakes him from his concern about Isak’s physical and emotional wellbeing. That’s the kind of protective that I think Even is: he looks after Isak and his soft heart. He always sees him. He’ll do whatever he can to make sure he’s okay and he knows he’s loved. And I think Isak does the same for Even. That’s all I think you can really aim for, you can’t stop the slings and arrows of the world but you can build someone up and calm someone down and let them know they’re loved through it all. :`)

P.S. After this, things in Prythian get VERY interesting.

“I’m not sure when Lucien’s family are planning on making their move, so I need you to keep an especially watchful eye on them, Azriel.” The quiet Illyrian warrior nodded, I could have sworn I saw the shadows around him darken in response as if they were eager for the new challenge I had posed. “As I’d predicted, they’ve decided to affiliate themselves with Tamlin and the King of Hybern, which means that we now have another person aiming for the targets on our backs.”

“And,” Mor added, “it means that you’ll also have to take necessary precautions, Feyre. The Autumn Court are a sneaky group of bastards. And although they’ve denounced Lucien I wouldn’t put it past him to report any suspicions he has to his family.”

A devilish smirk spread across my lips. “Oh, I don’t think we’ll have Lucien to worry about, Mor, Rhys assured, “She’s already taken care of him.” Four pairs of eyes stared back at me, drowning in confusion.

“Ah,” Cassian finally grinned, understanding and more than a hint of amusement causing his eyes to glow like liquid amber. “You threatened him with Elain, didn’t you?” The look in my eyes was the only needed confirmation. “Well played, Feyre,” he appraised.

The mention of my sisters caused sudden fear and worry to strike my chest. I hadn’t seen Nesta or Elain since they had been forcibly dunked into that damned Cauldron and turned into Fae. The last image I had of them both was in the King of Hybern’s courtroom—Nesta, eyes burning with hatred and rebellion. And Elain, sweet, innocent Elain too had burned with a fiery inferno I hadn’t seen before.

Cassian, whom Rhysand had informed me had been in charge of training and helping my sisters adjust to their new bodies, seemed to become flustered and unsure of how to answer the question.

“They’re fine,” he finally answered. “Or rather…they’re adjusting. It hasn’t been an easy process, as you’re well aware of.” Just as I had expected. I thought back to my own experiences of the long process of which I had to go through to finally become adjusted to my Fae body.

Rhysand placed a gentle hand at the small of my back, the signal for my time of departure. Fear and longing held my heart in its icy grip. It suddenly dawned on me that this may be the last time in a very long time that I would see them. My family.

I met each of their gazes in turn. As if they, too, had sensed that it was now time for me to leave, all four members of my Court, my Family placed a fist to their hearts, heads bowed in reverence. This was not a time for goodbyes, there was no need. No matter what events would take place in the future I knew I had to hold on to the tiny glimmer of faith I had that I would see them all again.

Rhysand led me outside and before we even reached it I spotted the massive night wings and glistening beak that could only belong to the Eranaten. I held my hand out to the graceful creature, allowing her to become familiar with my scent before stroking an idle hand down her beak. She purred, leaning into my touch.

“Rajani will take you as far as the outskirts of the Summer Court. Tarquin has assured that no harm will come to you as you travel through,” Rhysand informed me. “The Day, Dawn, and Winter Courts, however, have still not outwardly pledged their allegiance to either side, so please be cautious.” I nodded, secretly amused with his doting.

“Has there been any progress on finding a way for us to communicate without Tamlin or anyone discovering it?” I asked, fingers lightly scratching behind Rajani’s ears.

Frustration, not directed towards me, but at our situation flickered in his eyes. “Azriel’s been searching for loopholes, but still hasn’t found a way for an undetectable correspondence.” I had known better than to get my hopes up, but still hearing those words caused my heart to unexpectedly plummet.

“We’ll find a way,” I said, more to reassure myself than anything. “The King of Hybern isn’t all-knowing. There must be somewhere his eyes are looking, his ears aren’t listening. We’ll find a way,” I repeated.

The violet in Rhysand’s eyes turned midnight black as he murmured, “Until then, Feyre, you cannot completely close yourself off to me. Although I cannot physically be there for you, I can be there for you mentally. I just have to have some…reassurance that you’re alright.”

“Are you worrying about me, Rhys?”

He offered a small, sad smile, stepping closer. A hand reached up and brushed back a strand of hair that had come loose at some point, a thumb gently caressing my cheek. “It would seem that worrying is a side effect of the Mating Bond. In fact, I’m almost positive I’ve seen more than a few grey hairs since you’ve left.” I reached a hand up, running my fingers running through his hair as I’d done so many times before. “I’ve waited hundreds of years for you, Feyre. I’ve been through what I’d thought was hell and back, but…you. Having them take you away from me…now that is one thing I’d never be able to recover from.” I was taken aback by the pain and fear in his eyes. Of the memories that still haunted him after all these years.

“Everything I love has always had a tendency to be taken away from me.”

“I won’t shut you out this time, I promise,” I whispered, “Nothing will happen to me, Rhys.”

He said nothing for a while, his eyes slowly scanning over my face as if to memorize each and every small detail. Still holding my gaze he offered me his hand. “Dance with me.”

As if he had summoned it, the sweet melody of a violin, the feathery whispers piano, the steady beat of drums and angelic song of a harp circled around us. I smiled at him, gave him my hand, dared a step closer. I leaned in to the warmth of his hand at the small of my back, of his lips grazing the shell of my ear, the curve of my neck, pressing tender kisses to my shoulderblades.

Suddenly he spun me away from him before pulling me back, his lips a hairsbreadth away. A wicked smile was spread across them, and I couldn’t help laughing. Rhysand joined, and I rested my head on his chest.

Warm breath tickled my ear, sending delicious shivers dancing down my spine. “I love you,” he whispered. This may be the last time in a long time I would be held in his arms, lean into his touches, hear my name come off his tongue. I wanted to memorize all of it, to store it in my memories to relive in my dreams over and over again.

I was certain that no matter how many times he would whisper those words to me, they’d still cause my heart to sputter, fill my chest with an impossible need to be closer to him.

“I love you,” he said again. And when he said it this time he whispered the words as if I was his entire world.

I couldn’t count the number of kisses Rhys and I exchanged before he, begrudgingly, let me go. As I sailed above the bright lights of Velaris I could have sworn I spotted a dark shadow darting in between the mountains around me, a certain pair of violet eyes watching from afar. The feeling stopped only once I’d crossed over into the Day Court.

Rajani flew swiftly and silently over the rolling green hills of the Day Court, through the long stretches of meadows and rivers of the Dawn Court, above the snow-capped mountains and frost-laden trees of the Winter Court. When we finally made it to the familiar crystal blue seas of the Summer Court, the sun was slowly beginning to rise. Panic clutched my heart in its icy grip as I wondered if I’d be able to winnow through the Spring Court and make it back to my rooms before anyone discovered my absence.

As if sensing my unease, Rajani suddenly lurched forward as if she had not been flying to her full potential before. I grinned, memories of great Illyrian wings, hair whipping at my face and warm hands clutching me against his chest rushing back at me.

“Thank you, Rajani,” I whispered, stroking her beak. She let out a quiet screech before launching back into the sky with one mighty sweep of her wings. I blinked, and she was gone as if she had only been a figment of my imagination.

I felt those feelings clawing at me and instead decided to stretch out my own wings before shooting into the air, the early morning wind and sun kissing my face but there was no time to enjoy it. I raced towards the castle of the Spring Court, death at my back, anxiety digging its ugly claws.

Then I was at the outskirts of the woods, winnowing in between shadows so as not to be seen, silent as death. I raced up the stairs and to my bedroom, finding the veil I’d put in place just as it had been before I left.

I was just able to slide back into bed and rest my head on a pillow before a soft knock sounded at my door.

“Feyre? Are you awake?”

I made sure to wait a few seconds, deepening my voice like that of someone who had just awoken from sleep. “Yes, Alis. Come in.”

The small faerie shuffled inside, smiling broadly. “Master Tamlin wishes to see you,” she says. “I’ll draw your bath and send someone to fetch you breakfast before you go to meet him.”

I forced a grateful grin. “Thank you, Alis.”

I bathed and dressed in another ridiculous dress, missing the breezy, comfortable style of my home. Biscuits, tea, and bacon sat on my dresser, and I managed to leave the plate clean and the cup empty before going to meet Tamlin.

Odd didn’t fully convey the feeling I felt while walking through the halls of Tamlin’s home. I truly felt like a stranger, an invader, a spy within these walls.

I didn’t bother to knock on the door before bursting into Tamlin’s study. The sight that greeted me caused me to stumble back a few steps.

“Hello, Feyre,” greeted a light, lilting voice.

anonymous asked:

do you have any good star trek novel recommendations? (tos please!!)

Yes! I do! I’ve been meaning to make a post about this for…so long, whoops, but I’ll answer this ask instead! (might still make the post someday, idk tbh. I probably should though because since I have so many Trek books I haven’t read yet, I might like more enough to rec them, haha.) Okay, anyway… (By TOS I assume you mean the original Enterprise crew, I hope it’s okay that not all of these actually take place during TOS, aka the five year mission.)

Sarek by A. C. Crispin You might have seen me mention this one the other day on my blog; I really love it. It takes place post TUC, Amanda is dying and Sarek is uncovering a plot that’s way bigger than anyone realizes at first… Also there’s some stuff about Jim’s nephew Peter (from the episode with the farting flying pancake aliens? lol.) and yeah, it’s a great read. All the parts with Sarek and Amanda are lovely and sad and the plot is interesting and it’s just all around enjoyable.Definitely recommend.

Collision Course by William Shatner This is the other one I mentioned on my blog already, and this one is probably my favorite Trek novel. Spock is nineteen and Jim is seventeen when they first meet, and they’re both too smart for their own good and get into trouble and…well, all the things you expect from Jim and Spock. It was originally supposed to be the first in a series, but for various reasons, there probably won’t be any more (CRIES) but this one is so good. And it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger so it’s okay. I especially enjoyed tbh how Bill appreciates what an effect Tarsus would have had on Jim (this is only three years later, after all) and it’s still very visible on lil’ Jim. Not a spoiler, bc a reference is made to Tarsus on…literally the very first page. Lol. Anyway, this one is really fun and sometimes sad (bc Tarsus) and just really great! Also, at least one of the plot twists genuinely surprised me, which is rare… I normally see them coming a mile off in Trek novels. ;) (Which doesn’t usually take away from my enjoyment, tbh!) But I really appreciate when they can surprise me.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (novelization) by Gene Roddenberry You knew this was coming. This is an absolute must read if you’re a Spirk fan, tbh. I’m not all the way through with it so far, about halfway done, but I can tell you it’s a much better way of telling the story of TMP than TMP. Lol. The movie has this simple feeling and Jim rushing to Spock on the bridge and saying his name like a prayer and other things, but it also has all those dreadful special effect sequences. And the novel has its own gay to offer. I don’t necessarily agree with the way Gene wrote Jim (in fact, it’s been forever since I picked it up but I distinctly remember being bothered by it), but…yeah, at least borrow a copy from someone and witness the gay parts for yourself, haha.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (novelization) by Vonda McIntyre I’m going to go ahead and say right now that if you’re going to read the novelizations, go for the ones by Ms. (Mrs? idk) McIntyre. She wrote 2, 3, and 4. I haven’t read 3 yet, but I have read 2 and 4 and I like that she actually adds in scenes and stuff that weren’t in the movies. It makes me feel like I’m actually getting something additional for my time even though I’m reading a novelization of a movie I’ve already seen. I like this one, because there was quite a bit that wasn’t in the movie (I have a hunch the extra scenes, at least some of them, might be based on the script? because the scene with Sulu’s great….something or other grandfather as a child meeting Sulu is in the book, and I know they tried to put that in the movie but never managed to. anyway.) But yeah, there’s actual stuff in there that’s not in the movie! that’s the way it should be. Also…she ships Saavik/David pretty clearly. :P Like I said, haven’t read TSS novel yet, but I know she was working it into 2, and it’s mentioned in 4 as a thing. Anyway…good stuff! This is the one where the whole “Vulcans get drunk on chocolate” thing comes from btw :))) (Avoid the novelizations by JM Dillard! Avoid!!! I’ve read them and they’re not good.) (Oh and pretty much everything I’ve read by Vonda McIntyre I’ve enjoyed, she’s a good Trek writer.)

Dwellers In The Crucible by Margaret Wander Bonnano Margaret Bonnano is another writer I just generally recommend bc I like all the stuff by her that I’ve read, too. Anyway… okay so let me say that this book’s main characters are not Jim and Spock. I know, I know. But wait!! It’s so worth a read!! Jim and Spock are in it, not much, but when they are they’re literally so married and explicitly confirmed to be t’hy’la… :)) it’s great. okay anyway. The main characters are a human named Cleante and a Vulcan named T’Shael. They are ladies. THEY ARE GAY AF. OKAY. THAT ALONE MAKES IT WORTH A READ. it’s so glorious.I mean the book only says they’re friends but…in the same way Jim and Spock are friends in canon. they’re super freaking gay. and also there are like a thousand incredibly obvious parallels between our human and vulcan lady and Jim and Spock. it’s fun. also Sulu goes undercover as a Romulan. :D yeah, just…read it. it’s great. (it made me angry at one point. I’m still angry. but I recommend it.)

Ishmael by Barbara Hambly This one was, for me at least, just a genuinely good read. I really enjoyed the plot. So…Spock goes back in time to 1867, not willingly I don’t think. And he gets amnesia. So right there are two tropes I ADORE (time travel and amnesia, I don’t care, I LOVE THEM.) He lands in North America, in Seattle if I remember correctly. And that’s the plot pretty much. Haha…okay, there’s a Klingon plot, the Enterprise crew searching for Spock, Spock trying to adapt and hide he’s an alien while bonding with the members of the community he lands in. Also Jim and Spock’s reunion is a bit gay. (Warning for spoilers if you click that? it’s pictures of when they find him near the end, so. Yeah.) I just really enjoyed the book in itself, the plot and everything. Fun!

Enterprise: The First Adventure by Vonda McIntyre In light of the tv series called Enterprise, the title of this one might be a little confusing… But it’s most definitely TOS and has nothing to do with Enterprise, haha. The premise is that it’s the first voyage of the Enterprise with Jim as the captain. And the mission is…to transport a theater troupe. It’s ridiculous and so silly, I know, but it’s really fun. There’s a winged horse, a really un-Vulcan Vulcan (I think he’s Spock’s cousin? I don’t really remember tbh), Spock heckling the theater troop, Uhura being a good friend to Janice…that’s all I remember off the top of my head, but I remember really enjoying it when I read it!

Unspoken Truth by Margaret Wander Bonanno Remember what I said about those two writers? Lol. Okay so this is a Saavik-centric book. I really love Saavik, okay? So, as you might know, Saavik is half Vulcan, half Romulan. Well in this book (actually, in a bunch of books, by at least three different writers, it seems to be her accepted backstory in the novels) she was the result of a terrible experiment by Romulans, and when it didn’t work out, she and a bunch of other children were abandoned on a planet called Hellguard, and…some really horrible things happen. Anyway, Spock saves her, mentors her, and Amanda and Sarek basically adopt her (literally, she calls them mother and father, IT’S MY FAVE), well anyway, years later, either after or during TVH, she learns things are happening to the survivors of Hellguard…and the story goes from there. This was really good! Intense tbh. I loved it, but then, I love Saavik. If you don’t like her… But if you do, you’ll enjoy this one!!!!

Doctor’s Orders by Diane Duane Diane Duane is another must read author. All her books are excellent. In all honestly, I don’t remember too much about the plot of this one, but I know I liked it! Dr. McCoy is like “you can’t make me take command on the bridge” and Jim is like “uh actually I CAN” so he does and of course on McCoy’s very first day watching over the bridge Jim goes AWOL and shit starts going down. Poor Bones. Also, there’s some crazy aliens in this one, but they’re interesting!

The Vulcan Academy Murders by Jean Lorrah This one has such misleading cover art, lmaooo. At least, the version I have. There might be others… Anyway. Patients at a hospital on Vulcan keep dying and stuff, and then Amanda is in trouble. Lots of Sarek and Spock and Jim and Bones interaction. It’s a good one. (It’s been soo long since I read this one, too, sorry. But again, I know I enjoyed it!)

Uhura’s Song by Janet Hagan I love the alien species in this one. They’re like giant cats, and I love cats. When I read it, I got really into the planet and the species and their culture. The plot is that an old friend of Uhura’s is from this planet, and they “exchanged songs”…songs are a big deal in their culture. Anyway, there’s a plague threatening everyone on the planet and humans, too, and they think a song might hold the key to curing the disease, so they all go down on the planet to try and find it.

Strangers From The Sky by Margaret Wander Bonanno The plot to this one is…kind of hard to describe. Okay. So the parts with Jim and Spock go back and forth in time, part of the time being like, post-all the movies (I think) where they’re old friends (and really married, they’re just like. Margaret Bonanno has this way of inserting this really easy, casual intimacy they have with each other, and calling it friendship when OBVIOUSLY they’re married af, but either way I love it) and part of the time being very early on when Jim hasn’t been in command for long and he and Spock didn’t care much for each other (I mean personally I think they liked each other quite well from the start, but I’ll let it go, lol)… And then there’s a book. In the book. That everyone is reading and obsessed with and Jim starts reading it… It sounds weird, I know, but the book in the book is the story of the first time Vulcans came in contact with humans, long before the OFFICIAL first contact, it was when Vulcans crash landed on Earth and were discovered by some humans… I fucking love Vulcans, so that is obviously a great point of interest for me. Lol. Anyway when Jim reads the book he has nightmares, but then he discovers Spock has those nightmares, too, and it’s more than ‘just’ a book. Probably sounds bizarre but I really enjoyed it. ….and doesn’t every Trek plot EVER sound bizarre af when you try to describe it?

That’s all I’ve got right now!! This got so long I’M SO SORRY TBH BUT I HAD TO BE THOROUGH.

Ninette Week: Day 4 - Ladybug and Miraculous!Nino

So, yeah, remember that thing I mentioned about ret-conning a scene with Ladybug and Emerald Shell?

Here it is, from Chapter 18. (Is this cheating? This might be cheating. Oh well.)

Enjoy! <3

“You know, you probably made him fall in love with you just then,” Shell remarked as Ladybug approached. She snorted softly, something that amused and frustrated him, as if she was doubtful that anyone would fall in love with her just like that.

“He’s a kid; he can’t even spell ‘love’.”

“Don’t underestimate him because he’s young,” Shell warned her in a dire tone that was ruined by his grin. “He nearly conquered Paris in one night in his very short reign as king.”

“Hmm. Well, I have always wanted my own kingdom,” Ladybug mused as she and Shell scampered off before press or protesters could catch them unaware. “You know, big castle, moat, drawbridge—”

“I know someone who’s rich enough to pull that off,” Shell teased, grinning when Ladybug’s face flushed red to match her mask. She was so cute. “So when is that going to start being a thing again?”

Spirit banishing ritual

“My mom attracted some freaky ghosts” is the beginning of almost all of my spirits stories. Even this one.

Some weird stuff was happening in our apartment, and it got a little out of control because of my laziness. The thing is asking nicely works wonders 70% of the time. In 20% of the time, showing the teeth will seal the deal. Only 10% of the time requires actual work to be done.

I asked nicely for way too long. When my mom finally came to me and said “Aren’t you going to do something about it?”, I had to perform the hole banishing because it was too late for threats. The main thing was the piece below.

The tools

A fire proof container – It can’t be a small one. I used my 5 L cauldron.

Rock salt

Black salt

1 reversing candle – If you can’t find one, you can paint the bottom half of a white candle with black paint.

A knife

9 tealight candles

3+ incenses

A stick of palo santo

A bell – I used my singing bowl.

Burning alcohol

Long matches – Mine were out, so I used a long barbecue stick.

Broom – You can use your besom, if you have one. I don’t.

The way

Fill your fire proof container with enough rock salt so it can hold 3 incenses sticks and 1 candle up. I chose the number 3 because it is my power number, feel free to use yours. Position your sticks in a triangle form (or whatever other form you can make with your chosen number of incenses) and leave the middle empty.

Put your container on the ground (I put it in our living room), and align the 9 tealights around it in a circle form. The number 9 here symbolizes closure.

Light up all the tealights and incenses. Do not sit, this ritual is meant to be done standing up.

Hold your reversed candle and your knife in your hands, and say loud and clear what you are doing and why you are doing it. I stated that I was banishing the spirits because they had crossed the line and pushed the boundaries I had previously set in our living space. I evoked the landlord power and said that as long as this is my land, my rules will prevail, and I will not tolerate to be disrespected.

Get your knife and sharpen the black side of the reversing candle – this is the side that you are going to lighten, not the regular one. Put the candle in the middle of your container and light it. State that when the flame reaches the white half of the candle, all of the said spirits will vanish from your house, and never come back.

Now, get the black salt. Go to every room of your place and put a handful of black salt on the ground, stating that this salt will absorb all negativity and bad energy of the room. Leave it there.

While the candle burns, it is time to ring your bell. Not in a Santa Claus way, keep the swing short. You will walk around your place swinging this bell until all the black part of the candle is gone. Ghosts hate bells, trust me.

This will take a while. Pay attention to the incenses – every time one is finished, replace it with a new one. I cheated it and made the candle burn faster with one of those kitchen lighters – and that’s fine. I actually think it gave an extra oomph to it, making it faster with my will. Showing who’s the boss, y’know?

When the black part is all gone, it is time to get all the black salt back – time to use your broom. Swipe it on to a piece of paper and pour it into the container.

Now, really, REALLY carefully you will pour the alcohol into the container – that’s why it can’t be a small one, you have to be able to do this without risking a burning. Pour the alcohol directly on the salt, close to the edges of the container. A little goes a long way. Don’t forget: always keep a lot of water close to you when you are handling fire.

With your long match or stick, get the fire from the reversing candle to the rest of the container. Again, be careful. State that the fire will extinguish any remaining energy from those spirits.

Throw the palo santo stick into the fire. Let it burn with it until the fire fades away – which should not take very long (a little alcohol goes a long way, I said).

After that, cover the hole thing with water, mix it a little with your stick and let it sit overnight. The next day, strain it and throw the remainings away.

It is a long ritual (at least for me, a minimalist when it comes to this sort of magick), but effective af.
