Peanut Butter Cookies

*throws allergic!Lance at you and runs away*

Summary: When Pidge’s birthday rolls around, Allura remembers her offhand comment about liking peanut butter. Little did she know that Lance is actually very, very allergic. (angst and fluff, and a bit of established klance because I have no self control and I ship it leave me alone)

I hardly ever post anything because I have no confidence ha so if you like it, let me know! This is very short compared to lots of other stuff I’ve written.

@taylor-tut I don’t think this is that good or even if it counts as langst/whump but I’ll tag you anyway and @voltronpaella thanks for actually getting me to post this my dude

When Allura called the Paladins into the kitchen, Lance expected some sort of emergency.

Why they’d be meeting in the kitchen, he had no idea, but he slid out of bed regardless. After removing his face mask he padded out into the hall, slightly resentful that he didn’t have time to straighten his hair.

Lance nearly bumped into Hunk in the hallway, who was also still in pajamas. The two were the last to arrive in the kitchen. He surveyed the others and found Shiro in full armor, Keith with an activated bayard, and Pidge rubbing the sleep out of her eyes with a laptop tucked under her arm.

“Princess, we’ve talked about this,” Lance grumbled. “You have got to stop interrupting my beauty sleep.”

What do you think about an “i picked up your bag at the airport but i can’t find your number so i’m about to embark on the largest scavenger hunt of all time by using your strange belongings to track you down” au with charmer or nurseydex or zimbits or something??

Well, I don’t know if you expected three mini fics, and I didn’t fully follow the prompt, but here we are.

1. Charmer

Look, Chris knew it was dumb. He knew that everyone on earth had a plain black suitcase, he knew he should have double-checked the luggage tag, he knew it was important to be sure abut these things. But knowing what he should have done couldn’t help him when he finally got his suitcase home and opened it up to find mostly yoga pants and sundresses.

Fuck.

He zipped the bag back up and flipped open the luggage tag. It was cute, pink with some metallic lettering saying “I’m outta here!” in a handwritten font. Chris blamed jetlag and the redeye flight for making him miss the fact that it wasn’t his Sharks tag. He blamed the bag’s owner for not filling out any of the information on the tag.

Dammit.

Well, sorry random girl, he thought. He opened the suitcase up again to try to see if he could find anything that would give him a clue as to who the suitcase owner was. He moved a makeup bag aside, and hit gold immediately. Well, Samwell red. A Women’s Volleyball tshirt– mystery suitcase girl had to be on the volleyball team.

“Hey Ransom!” he yelled. “You’re facebook friends with all the volleyball team right?”

“He’s friends with everyone on campus!” Holster yelled back.

“Ask their captain if anyone flew in from the Bay Area and lost their luggage!”

_X_

“Is Justin here? My captain said he’s got my suitcase.” Chris overheard her at the door. He grabbed the bag and started hauling it downstairs. As he set it down at the bottom and caught sight of the girl in the doorway, he froze. She was pretty. Like, really pretty.

“Um, hi,” he said.

“So you’re Justin? Oh my god, I’m so glad it wasn’t some total rando who got my bag.”

“I’m actually Chris, Justin was just the one who was friends with your captain. Um, I’m sorry, but I kind of had to look through your stuff? Your luggage tag wasn’t filled out.” The girl laughed.

“Yours wasn’t either! Me and my teammates were like one minute away from googling the record holder for most San Jose Sharks merch, but it totally makes sense that you’re on the hockey team.”

“Since we both forgot to write our numbers down, maybe we should do that now?” Chris suggested. The girl grinned, grabbed his phone out of his hand, and opened up a new contact. She punched in a number, and when she handed it back he saw a text of several random emojis addressed to the new contact of “Caitlin Farmer” with a girl farmer emoji and a volleyball emoji.

“Text me sometime, and maybe we can get dinner?” she said, and she was gone with her suitcase.

Chris collapsed on the couch, a dreamy look in his eyes.

“Chowder? You get your suitcase back?” Bitty called out from the kitchen.

“Yeah! and I think I’m in love now!”

2. Nurseydex

“Cheryl, I’m telling you, I had a ton of inspiration on the plane and I wrote some great stuff for act three. No. No, it wasn’t just me thinking it’s great because I popped some melatonin and got really sleepy. It’s like, legit. Yeah, I’ll send it over as soon as I get home and–”

Derek slammed into something. If he’d been holding his phone in his hand (bluetooth is a blessing when you drop stuff easily) it would have launched across the airport. As it was, his post-flight latte was soaking through the nice white shirt of the handsome stranger in front of him.

“Shit,” the stranger said, looking down to survey the damage.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I shouldn’t have trusted myself to make a phone call and not be clumsy after such a long flight,” Derek said. He set his briefcase down and pulled a wad of napkins out of the outside pocket. The guy took a deep breath, going from murderous to calm in a few seconds.

“I wasn’t looking where I was going either, it’s not your fault,” the guy said, setting down his own briefcase and accepting the napkins. He blotted at his shirt.

“Let me pay for the dry cleaning. Or a replacement,” Derek offered. The man shook his head.

“It’s fine, it probably needed to go to the cleaners anyways.” He checked his watch. “If I run, I can probably get a new one before my meeting.” He wadded the napkins into one big ball, picked up his briefcase, and walked towards the exit with a terse nod. Derek, feeling terrible about the whole thing, picked up his own briefcase and walked to baggage claim.

By the time he was reunited with his home office, a cozy bookshelf-lined room in his brownstone, he had almost forgotten about the coffee incident. He was focused on sending the manuscript to Cheryl. Unfortunately, that was going to be difficult, considering he pulled a PC laptop out of the bag instead of his Mac.

Derek stared at the computer for a full minute. He almost couldn’t believe that this was happening to him. Hesitantly, he opened the laptop. On one side of the keyboard there was a weird thing that a few seconds of phone googling told him was a fingerprint scanner. Shit. He hit the space bar experimentally. Something flashed on the screen, and then was replaced with just a plain black screen with red text: ACCESS DENIED

Derek swore. He started to look through the rest of what was in the briefcase, but was disappointed to find it empty except for the laptop’s charger, three packs of gum, and receipts from a lobster shack in Maine. Shit. Nothing in here would tell him anything about the redhead he’d launched a latte at.

He closed the laptop dejectedly, ignored his editor’s text messages, and went into the kitchen to make himself lunch and feel sorry for himself. This was the universe punishing him for covering a cute guy with coffee. If he had just kept his focus and waited to call his editor later, he could have sent the draft along and saved it and not be desperately trying to remember his inspiration.

Just as the self-pity spiral was really taking off, the doorbell rang. Derek sighed, put down his tea, and walked to the door. When he opened it, it wasn’t Girl Scouts or Jehovah’s Witnesses, but the guy from the airport.

“Cancel whatever you’re doing today, I need to teach you the most basic principles of digital security,” the guy said, pushing past Derek into the dining room. He shoved a stack of papers onto a chair and pulled Derek’s laptop out.

“I’m Will, by the way, I make software that’s hopefully a step ahead of viruses.”

“Is the draft still there?”

“The draft of what?” The guy looked confused.

“My third act breakthrough. I’m a novelist, I need to get it to my editor and I couldn’t remember if I saved it,” Derek explained.

“You know you can set up an auto-save every five minutes or so, right?” Will asked.

“This might be surprising to you, but I’ve never had a cute guy storm into my house and yell at me about computers before.” Will looked up from Derek’s computer, blushing.

“I haven’t had a cute guy dump a gallon of coffee all over me and steal my laptop before, either, but here we are.”

“Maybe you can yell about computers over lunch with me?”

3. Zimbits

Button downs. Tank tops. Slacks. Shorts. Three rolling pins. A pie tin. A half-emptied multipack of sharpies.

No lucky puck. No clothes in his size. No jerseys.

Jack sighed. It would just be too much to ask for anything to go well today. He picked up his phone to call someone with the Falconers, in the hope that they could talk to the airline and sort all this out. At the same time, his phone lit up with Tater’s face.

“Zimmboni! Look on twitter. Small internet baker has your suitcase!” Tater hung up before he could reply, so Jack just opened twitter instead.

omgcheckplease: A bunch of pucks, some dirty jerseys, and a history textbook. Either I’m back in college or this isn’t my suitcase.

omgcheckplease: .@falcsofficial please tell your #1 player to DM me and come get his shit

omgcheckplease: and @falcsofficial tell him to give me my shit back. my hockey days are in the past, I need rolling pins, not a mouthguard

Jack smiled and laughed in the way a person laughs when they’re alone, just blowing more air than normal out of his nose. He looked through the twitter for a minute– the guy, Eric Bittle, was a Providence-based chef, whose latest tweets were mostly greetings to the various cities he’d been visiting on tour. Jack clicked the media tab on the account, and looked through the pictures. Bittle was cute. He wrote a reply.

zimmboni: .@omgcheckplease how do I send u a DM

omgcheckplease: .@zimmboni you don’t deserve to be verified, oh my god #verifybittle2k17

A few seconds later another notification popped up, and he tapped it to be brought to a DM window.

omgcheckplease: hey! sorry about the mixup. I can only imagine how confused you were to find all my book tour stuff.

zimmboni: Probably as confused as you were finding hockey stuff?

omgcheckplease: I wasn’t joking in my tweets, I did play hockey before I got into the whole cookbook/food show thing

zimmboni: Exactly, I did a book tour last year in the off-season :-)

omgcheckplease: oh my gosh, isn’t it the best and the worst?

zimmboni: I know. It’s great to meet people and talk about your work, but it’s exhausting.

omgcheckplease: that’s why I’m so excited to be back in Providence! at least until the next cookbook.

zimmboni: Well we should probably meet up to trade suitcases. Want to meet somewhere for dinner?

omgcheckplease: don’t trust me to learn where your house is?

zimmboni: I mean, if dinner goes well enough…

omgcheckplease: OH. okay, then, Mr. Zimmermann, it’s a date.

Jack smiled to himself, and got ready for his date.

“Reading anything good?” Dean asks.

Sam’s inside the gas station, picking up some snacks instead of listening to this conversation, so your face doesn’t feel the need to flush with embarrassment. Dean already knows exactly what you’re reading.

“I guess,” you tell him. No need to feed his ego by telling him how hot the story is.

“What is it?”

Hey sorry do you know any ‘being a couple for a case’ fic ? Thank you'

I CERTAINLY DO. It’s one of my favourite tropes of ALL TIME. Like, I reread these fics ALL THE TIME. I am just SO SAD that there’s no long-fic really strictly from Sherlock’s POV. Like I would LOVE for a fic where we see Sherlock’s thought processes about trying to get John to be his date / partner / whatever.

FAKE RELATIONSHIP

ANYWAY. I added a few onto this list here, but here’s a full list of the ones in my bookmarks.

  • Wars We Fought, Things We’re Not by blueink3 (M | 55,126 w.) Five months after John’s world has fallen apart, Mycroft sends the consulting detective and his doctor on a case that neither is prepared for. [[**FAVE. You have to check this one out!**]]
  • I can’t pretend by Salambo06 (E | 7,692 w.) - They had arrived more than a hour ago, and the moment they had walked inside the hotel reception, John had understood why Sherlock hadn’t wanted to come. Two men, posh suits and expensive watches on their wrists, had come to greet them with sharp remarks and badly hidden mockery, and John had seen red. Sherlock hadn’t said anything, mostly ignoring the two men entirely, and without thinking twice about it, John had slid an arm around Sherlock’s waist and introduced himself as his husband. [[AHHH so much pining John, I love it. Sherlock is so good to him!!]]
  • A Hundred Thousand Ways to Say the Name John by Jberry (E | 16,825 w.) John Watson and Sherlock Holmes must solve a case on a cruise ship. To get close to the crew and passengers, they must get married for the case on the Baetica. However, their relationship hits rocky seas both due to the case and internal conflicts. Part 1 of Baetica [[FAVE!!! MUST READ!!]]
  • Twelfth Night by yourdykeinshiningarmor (E | 15,139 w.) - John is invited to his aunt’s Twelfth Night ball. Sherlock offers to attend with him as a friendly face among strangers, but John’s family force him to address his true feelings for Sherlock. [[this one is cute]]
  • Till Death Do Us Part by prettysailorsoldier (M | 15,390 w.) - When Sherlock links a recent spree of murder-suicides to a psychologist who specializes in marriage counselling, there’s really only one thing to do: Go undercover as a couple in hopes of drawing the killer out. Faking a relationship seems easy enough, but things take a turn when their real issues start to creep into the sessions, and, all the while, a killer is watching, waiting in the shadows for their chance to strike. Part 12 of 25 Days of Johnlock [[OH GOD this one is lovely. Lots of pain but happy ending]]
  • That Partitioning of the Things of Youth by wearitcounts (Sher_locked_up) (E | 35,353 w.)Victor Trevor is in town, and nobody’s happy. [[I really like this one. Jealous John AND Sherlock and lots of Angst]].
  • What I Hide By My Language, My Body Utters by PixChuu22 (M | 9,047 w.) - Based on a prompt from Tumblr user thetwogaydetectives - “fake relationship that ends up being so real, they finally realize they are in love.” (I like this one. They end up together because of a case).
  • The Case of the Made-Up Case by DoubleNegative (T | 2,394) - Sherlock takes John to a club. For a “case.” Yes, John, a case. Part 1 of The (Secret) Adventures of Sherlock Holmes [[CUTE!]]
  • The Newlywed Game: Johnlock Edition by patternofdefiance (E | 9,020) - John and Sherlock pretend to be married in order to be contestants in a Newlywed Game. Of course it’s for a case. Of course it doesn’t stay that way. Part 8 of I Blame Tumblr [[LOVE THIS ONE. It’s so cute!]]
  • A Case of Identity by jkay1980 (T | 91,009 w.)John and Sherlock have succeeded in rebuilding their friendship after Sherlock’s fake suicide, but an unusual case puts their relationship to the test. They pretend to be engaged and attend a marriage counseling workshop. Under the pretext of the case, Sherlock turns out to be a master of seduction, and John finally learns he might like Sherlock more than he thought. Slowly, John discovers that he loves Sherlock not only in a friendly, brotherly way, but both men have to fight their own demons before they can think of taking their relationship to a new level… [[I love this fic. It’s a really great long-fic!]]
  • A Bit of Indulgence by beltainefaerie (NR | 3,364 w.) -  A case leads John and Sherlock to fake being boyfriends and John runs into an old acquaintance. [[This one is so domestic and cute GUH I love it.]]
  • The Norwood Love Builders by flawedamythyst (T | 47,798 w.) - Sherlock and John go undercover to solve the murder of Joanna Oldacre, but things are complicated by the many feelings John has been repressing in the wake of Sherlock’s faked death and return. [[OMG this is like my FAVOURITE fic in this genre ever. It’s SO good and well characterized]].
  • Hitting the Water at Sixty Miles an Hour by what_alchemy (E | 30,568 w.) “You love your mother, Sherlock?”John watched the muscles in Sherlock’s jaw jump. He nodded in one sharp jerk.“Then we’re going to her party and making her happy.” John let out a resigned sigh. “As a ruddy couple, you bastard.”
  • Once More, With Feeling by cellard00rs (T | 21,178 w.) - To put off his meddlesome, matchmaking mother, John convinces Sherlock to play the role of his significant other. Unparalleled awkwardness ensues. [[nice amount of fluff and pining!]]
  • Hope Springs Eternal by QuinnAnderson (T | 4,054 w.) - John Watson and Sherlock Holmes go on holiday, and Sherlock has romance on the brain. [[Another cute one!]]
  • Five Times They Kissed for a Case, and One Time They Kissed for Real by fleetwood_mouse (M | 32,406) - A stolen ring! An artful blogger! And many more adventures for your enjoyment.
  • Disguises are always a self-portrait by yellowteapots (NR | 6,223 w.) - They were headed to a Pride Fest for a case-triple suicide/murder- which, of course mean they had to pretend to be couple. John had a suspicion Mycroft took a fairly sadistic glee in booking them a (single king-sized bed) room at the most romantic B&B in town. (I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH)
  • A Silver Sixpence by doodle (E | 16,400 w. LIVEJOURNAL) - John and Sherlock have to get married for a case, and learn some things about each other. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this story, though its only fault is that it’s on LiveJournal… (PITA to read on mobile)

AMNESIA:

Here are a couple where either John or Sherlock have amnesia and they think that they are each other’s husband or partner.

  • Among the Secret Things by Kate_Lear (E | 26,073 w.) - Sherlock would be the last person to describe himself as given to flights of fancy, but at the look on Lestrade’s face he could swear that something inside him curls up and dies. Part 1 of Among the Secret Things
  • What Meets the Eye by worldaccordingtofangirls (M | 8,251 w.) Amnesia is just another case to solve. Piece together unfamiliar faces, reconstruct the old identity, the lost reality. A challenge that Sherlock could even enjoy. He can read people like books. The man with the silver hair is his boss. The tottering old woman, his landlady. The girl with the worried look in her eyes…infatuated. And as for John Watson? His husband. Obviously.

“FOR A CASE” TROPE

So these aren’t necessarily relationships, or weren’t tagged as such, but contains some other “for a case” fics!

  • Midnight Blue Serenity by BeautifulFiction (E | 151,907w.) - When Sherlock infiltrates a club in order to track down a serial killer, his altered appearance is enough to make John question his assumption that Sherlock is beyond his reach. However, is he the only one who appreciates his flatmate’s charms, or is Sherlock at risk of becoming the next victim? [[THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVE FICS OF ALL TIME. tw for gore-ish type things near the end.]]
  • It Isn’t Strange Until You Think About It by ivyblossom (T | 4,596 w.) - John tells the truth about how it happened. For some reason, “it’s for a case” always seems to do the trick.
  • The Case of the Vanishing Pants by SwissMiss (E | 44,025 w.) - Five times John and Sherlock lost their pants for a case. [[there are some angsty bits in this, but I did giggle at a few scenes]]

OTHER SORT-OF RELATED FICS:

Here are a few that aren’t REALLY “for a case” but they end up together or the Johnlock is strong in it because of cases or because of situations.

  • Rescue by missilemuse (T | 2,574 w.) - If this was the way Sherlock Holmes loved, it was no wonder why he had avoided the damned emotion for over half of his life. Part 6 of Reichenbach To Return [[this isn’t really Johnlock, but it is… it’s non-ad10ck ad10ck. You have to read it to understand. It’s SO good and painful, trust me. Sherlock!Whump and pining]].
  • Five Times John Noticed But Didn’t Really by ScandalousMinds (T| 6,383 w.) 5 times John (thought) he noticed something peculiar about his and Sherlock’s relationship but really missed the obvious.
  • A Need To Know Basis by mattsloved1 (K+| 964 w., FFNet) - As the cab door shut firmly, the DI had yelled out they were to make an appearance at Scotland Yard the next day. It was while John watched London pass by that it happened. (short and sweet!! I love it!!)
  • Hallowed Eve by EventHorizon (T | 14,750 w.) - It probably wasn’t the smartest idea to let Sherlock choose the costumes for Halloween, but John never considered himself the smartest man in the room, anyway. (It’s a couple’s costume thing!)
  • Equine Arse Anonymity by Kayjaykayme (E | 3,834 w.) - Sherlock needs to speak with suspects at a fancy dress ball. He chooses a couple’s costume for himself and John. It is logical, practical and well thought out. John doesn’t agree and exacts sweet revenge.
  • Maybe This Christmas by feverishsea for leopardwrites (T | 6,021 w.) Anthea has given up her life, her own desires, even her name in service of something greater than herself. But that doesn’t mean she can’t see when someone else wants something – even if she doesn’t happen to care overmuch for that person. And it doesn’t mean she isn’t willing to help. (Anthea gets the boys together)
  • You Can Imagine the Christmas Dinners by ardenteurophile  (T | 23,584 w.) Sherlock takes John along for Christmas dinner with Mycroft and Mummy (And “Anthea”, too). Over the course of the evening, John realises that everyone in the room - apart from him - seems to think that he and Sherlock are a couple. Part 2 of Xmas Dinners Verse (I LOVE THIS ONE)
  • The Sexual Awakening of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson by suitesamba (M | 24,579 w.) Sherlock owes Mycroft a favor. Mycroft calls in that favor by offering Sherlock’s consulting services in a charity auction. Sherlock and John soon find themselves at the country manor of Mrs. Ives-Patton Smarmington III - not very coincidentally a long-time friend of Sherlock’s mother - where they are reluctant participants in her Murder Mystery Weekend. It’s a play within a play for Sherlock and John, and their roles for the weekend event bleed over into their real lives, waking the sleeping dragons within. Or In which John learns that Sherlock owing Mycroft a favor is very suspect, and Sherlock has a very bad idea.

Hope those satisfy! Alex also has a list that has some ACD Holmes on the list too!

RFA+V+Saeran accidentally hitting MC headcannons? I'm sorry if this triggers you or something but I'm curious how will they react!

( ̄▽ ̄) This got progressively more fun to write~~ It varies from fluff to comedy to slight angst lolol

–R.I.

RFA Accidentally Hits MC

Yoosung

  • He hadn’t meant to, he swears!!
  • He was just so excited about finally achieving a higher level than Seven on LOLOL that he’d carelessly thrown his headphones behind him and you just happened to be there!
  • When he turned around to tell you his good news, he noticed the newly-formed bump on your head.
  • Oblivious, he tilted his head in question. “Oh, how’d you get hurt, MC?”
  • You fired a glare at him, crossing your arms and stomping off, irritated by his carelessness. ‘I’m going to ignore him!’ you decided.
  • You held true to your word.
  • It wasn’t until days later (in which Yoosung spent whining for your attention) when he heard you complaining to Jaehee about what had happened, and how careless he was.
  • Finally learning his mistake, he slid to the floor, grasping at your leg while he stared up at you with tears in his eyes. “I’m sorry!!!” he wailed, feeling the guilt him hard. “I’ll do anything to make it up to youuuu” ;-;
  • Dammit, his puppy face was hard to resist.

Zen

  • He noticed you trying to sneak up on him by looking at your shadow on the floor, and he swiftly turned around so he could tease you that your plan failed but… but…
  • His long ponytail somehow whacked you in the face, leaving a pink mark on your cheek
  • “Owwie.” You rubbed your cheek with a slight frown.
  • He shrieks at the sin he’d just committed. I JUST HIT MY PRINCESS WHATDOIDOOHMYGODIDESERVETODIE
  • He rushed out an apology in a panic, “MC, I’m so sorry, oh my gosh, I’ll never do that agai-”
  • Low whistles came from their surroundings.
  • “Wow, what an awful boyfriend, did he hit her? Her cheek is pink… Poor girl…”
  • “Isn’t that the actor Zen? Didn’t know he was abusive to his girlfriend…”
  • Every comment only made him feel guiltier. He hadn’t meant to hurt you—he would never!
  • He placed his head in his hands, feeling horrible about himself. You noticed that tears were welling up in his eyes.
  • “Hey, it was just an accident… And it was only your hair. It’s okay Zen. I know you’d never hurt me,” you murmured gently, smiling brightly up at him as you brushed aside his bangs.
  • “M-maybe I shouldn’t stand so close to you anymore…” He shook his head, frantically backing away from you, not processing your words at all.
  • Well, you sure had fun explaining why Zen kept running away from you like a little kid at the RFA party. It only got worse when Seven joined in, “ARE WE PLAYING TAG?!? TAG, YOU’RE IT, MC!!!” and running off…

Jaehee

  • As usual, you were helping out at the coffeeshop, scurrying around behind the counter to get to the customers’ orders.
  • And like most days, it was busy.
  • As you were serving a customer at the cash register, Jaehee was rushing to finish someone else’s order, and in her hurry, she bumped into you. Hard.
  • The both of you crashed down, with her knee digging into your abdomen. You felt the wind knocked out of you, and you gasped for air, your eyes rolling to the back of your head from the pain.
  • “MC!” Jaehee shrieked, the guilt hitting her immediately. “MC, are you okay? Can you hear me?”
  • You were in too much pain to even realize she was talking. You closed your eyes as you rolled to your side, trying to tolerate it.
  • “Hey, take my order already!” someone demanded.
  • Jaehee slowly stood up, a fierce glare upon her face as she slammed her fist onto the countertop. “Your order? MC is hurt and all you can think about is your order? You think your order is more important?” she growled, glaring daggers in the inconsiderate customer’s direction.
  • The customer visibly gulped, shuddering from the intensity of Jaehee’s anger. “N-no, ma’am…”
  • Your girlfriend clicked her tongue. In an icy cold tone, she stated, “I’ve never had to ask this of a customer before. Get. Out.”
  • Ignoring the line of customers, Jaehee chose to tend to you first, carrying you princess style (remember this gal can fight) to the staffroom and checking the damage. Upon seeing the bruise, she winced, feeling another wave of guilt overwhelm her. You could see her silently mouthing yet another apology as she stared at it.
  • “It’ll heal. It was only an accident, Jaehee, don’t worry,” you soothed her, smiling gently. Albeit with a frown, she accepted it.
  • …Although, she made you take multiple days off after that, despite your protests.

Jumin

  • He’d just gotten out of a 6 hour long meeting, feeling completely worn out. Nonetheless, it was over, so he could finally return to his office.
  • You’d asked to meet with him for lunch that day, patiently waiting for him to finish up.
  • But he had hardly taken a step into the office, and he received a call from another business partner. He flashed you an apologetic look before taking the call, walking to the far end of the room to talk quietly.
  • You didn’t mind, it was just a little more waiting. The call couldn’t possibly take that long, after all!
  • Or so you thought.
  • But over an hour had passed already, and his lunch break was almost over. Growing impatient, you walked up to your husband, reaching to hug him.
  • Noticing your actions, he swatted his hand dismissively, trying to tell you he was busy. Unfortunately, he was distracted, and he ended up smacking your face.
  • The moment his hand made contact with your face, his expression froze. In a split second, Jumin hung up on his call, setting aside his phone and rushing to your aid.
  • But you pushed him away.
  • He winced at the hurt expression on your face. You weren’t upset because he’d hit you, but that he had tried to dismiss you as if you were just another employee to him—as if you weren’t important. But you couldn’t say that out loud to him. Just because he had hurt your feelings, it didn’t mean you had to do the same to him.
  • You lowered your eyes, avoiding his worried gaze, and quietly walked out of his office. Jumin sank into his chair in despair, feeling awful about what he’d done. He knew how it felt to be cast aside for work. And he hated that you had to go through the same experience.
  • After finishing work that night, he returned home, still feeling ashamed of himself. You’d already turned off all the lights as if to say you weren’t waiting for him tonight. He hesitantly opened the door to your shared bedroom, where you were reading a book in bed.
  • Jumin held up a bouquet of purple hyacinths, nervously forcing a smile on his face. “I-I’m sorry about earlier today, MC…” he said quietly.
  • “You think flowers will make me forgive you?” you sighed, a frown tugging at your lips. “While I appreciate the sentiment, the flowers won’t win me over. I understand that you may have been stressed from work, but that doesn’t make me any less upset about it. Well, you should get some rest.”
  • He looked away, then suddenly grabbed your hand. “I… Will you let me explain myself, at least?”
  • Albeit surprised, you nodded calmly.
  • “The reason I’ve been working so hard lately… even today… it’s because I wanted to clear my schedule to spend time with you. I know you’ve been very patient with me all this time, and I’m really grateful for that. I just… kind of missed passing time with you, so I was planning to finish up next week’s work and then properly ask you out on a date… But I guess it really took a toll on me.” He sighed again. “I’m sorry.”
  • You wrapped your arms around him, a soft smile upon your face. “Then, make it up to me by staying with me all next week, okay?”
  • Although you wouldn’t see it, Jumin had an adorable grin on his face. ‘I love you so much.’

Seven

  • “BWAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!”
  • If you were wondering why Saeyoung was laughing at 6AM in the morning, it’s because he woke up to your face.
  • Now, he wakes up with you everyday, but it was the first time that you awoke with a nosebleed. He grinned cheekily, “I didn’t know I was that hot, babe.”
  • …to which, earned him a smack in the head.
  • “This is your fault, you idiot,” you grumbled, carefully getting out of bed.
  • He cocked his head in confusion, “Wait, really?”
  • “You whacked me with your arm. Again.”
  • Although he felt guilty for hurting you, he covered it up with another grin. “Just admit that you were nosebleeding because I’m hot, MC~”
  • Despite his words, he still led you to the bathroom and helped you clean up the blood. He took it upon himself to wash the blankets and bedsheets which had gained bloodstains, and even made breakfast for you that morning.
  • And it’d be over breakfast that he quietly apologized to you.
  • “Hey, uhm… I know I was kidding around earlier, but I’m really sorry about hitting you, MC…” he mumbled, a light blush spreading across his cheeks. He wasn’t used to being so sincere, but he knew he should apologize.
  • You merely flicked his forehead. “It’s okay. I know you didn’t mean to. Besides, I’ve kicked you off the bed multiple times because you were taking up too much space.”
  • His head snapped up immediately, narrowing his eyes at you accusingly. “Wait what?! But you always told me that I rolled off by myself!!”
  •  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Saeran

  • “Sorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorry”
  • He was chanting it over and over, his head on his knees, his entire body trembling. You tried to approach him, but he only flinched, backing away.
  • “N-no, stay away. I hurt you, oh my god, I hurt you,” he whispered, pain dripping in his voice. His eyes were wide with horror, and your heart clenched at the sight. He was scared. Scared of himself.
  • Now, what had caused this?
  • You’d sprung onto Saeran, declaring a pillow war, and the two of you had been smacking each other with your pillows, trying to get the upper hand over each other. But then he’d tripped over his own feet while he was swinging his pillow at you, and ended up smashing his elbow into you, knocking you to the ground.
  • You’d only scraped your knee from the fall, and it only bled a little, but the injury was enough to make Saeran freak out.
  • “I know you didn’t mean to hurt me,” you said in a gentle tone, trying to coax him. “You would never hurt me.”
  • “I d-d-don’t want to hurt a-a-anyone,” he stammered, still shuddering. “P-p-please believe me. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, imsorryimsorryimsorryi-”
  • You took ahold of his trembling hands, kissing the fingertips. “I love you, Saeran. It was an accident. You didn’t have any other intentions. It’s okay. I’m okay. Look, it’s just a scratch.”
  • It took a few more moments to calm him down, but he eventually came to terms that it was only an accident, and that it wasn’t his fault. Still, though the incident was small and harmless, the fear that he could become abusive, just like his mother, began to haunt him since that day.

  • ‘Bzzzz…’
  • Jihyun frowned, turning his head to find the source of that annoying sound. Although he had recovered from his blindness, (thanks to Jumin finding the best doctors and funding the surgery), his ears were still sensitive to distant sounds.
  • Bzzzz…’ He walked out of the kitchen, noticing that the buzzing sound became louder. It must be closer now…
  • ‘BZZZ!!’ His eyes caught the culprit: a mosquito was flying around the house! He tried to slap the mosquito with both hands, failing miserably as it diligently flew away. Oh, it’s on, Mosquito.
  • Jihyun began running like a madman around the house, swatting at the pest and missing every time. And then, it chose to stay still. SLAP!
  • “Eeep!” you squealed, feeling a harsh impact on your butt. “W-what was that for, Jihyun?!”
  • He glanced up at you in surprise, taking in your pouting face.
  • “Ahh!! I’m so sorry, MC! I was so focused on killing the mosquito, I didn’t realize. I’m so sorry…” He was rambling in his apology, sounding almost panicked
  • You smirked, then grabbed him by the collar. “Hey. I didn’t say I didn’t enjoy it, now, did I?” you whispered huskily into his ear. You watched as Jihyun’s ears turned pink from embarrassment.
  • (Meanwhile, Seven was listening from the monitor. He whistled lowly upon hearing your words. “Damn. Kinky,” he muttered. Too bad Jihyun had broken his bug, or else he would’ve loved to see what happened next.)
Flowers for my sister

A/N: So when I was in Jr/Sr high they had fundraisers where for a dollar someone could buy you a rose & have it sent to on Valentine’s day. Throughout the day people would go into the classroom & pass out the flowers. They had notes on it with who it was from & whatever message they wanted. So I’m sitting here going “what fic should I write for Valentine’s day & this popped into my head.” Reader is Dean’s twin. The ending is kinda rushed but that’s because it’s bedtime but I wanted to post this on actual Valentine’s Day. Enjoy my loves.

You ignored him by pretending to be very interested in the disgusting lunch that was in front of you. “Aye,” Dean said while kicking your leg under the table.

“What?” You hissed at him.

“What’s going on? Why are you all, moody?” He asked.

“Nothing. Just drop it, okay?” You replied before taking a bite out of the lunch the school provided for you.

“It’s not nothing if you’re acting like a-” Dean began but was interrupted by Sam rushing over to the table.

“Y/N are you okay?” Sam asked, out of breath from running, “I heard what happened and ran ove-”

“I’m fine Sam. Just drop it. Both of you. Okay?” You told them.

“Sam. Spill. Now.” Dean demanded.

“Sam, you open your mouth and you’re gonna regret it.” You replied.

Sam looked between you and Dean; you were both his older siblings, both of you were his heroes, normally he did what you asked, but this time he couldn’t.

“It’s Valentine’s day right? So these guys-” Sam started.

“Seriously Sam. Drop. It.” You hissed at him.

It’s been raining for days, endless puddles seeming to decorate the street. It’s almost something straight out of those weird old romcoms where the girl is sitting by a window, wallowing in self-pity about how her prince never arrived to save her sorry ass but then, out of the blue, she sees him, a smile lighting up her lips and the clouds clear and the sun shines and there are rainbows and unicorns everywhere.

Except, your prince never arrives and you’re left with cloudy, unicorn-less terrain and the image of piercing blue eyes tugging at your heartstrings.

Langst Prompts

Thought I should do a few of these since I keep staying up at night thinking about them. (ㅇㅅㅇ❀)

-Lance is sick. He doesn’t want to admit he’s coming down with anything. Lance and Keith get into another argument. Lance, in his sick state of mind, pushes a little too far. Keith challenges him to a match and before anyone can intervene, Lance is harshly thrown to the floor for the training deck. Keith is in the middle of claiming his victory when he notices Lance is /still/ on the floor. Queue panic.

-Lance gets corned by the galra. When he tries to signal for help, the galra shoot at the side of his helmet, effectively damaging Lance’s coms and inflicting injury. Through the pain, Lance still tries to get a signal through and hears his team, “Lanc- where are y- St-p fooli- around!” “W- need your he-p!” “He pro-ably -id some-ing stu-id agai-” Lance lays on the ground, watching as the galra descend upon him, and listening to the breaks in static as his team fights on. Without him.

-(modern college au) Its finals week. Lance has been pushing himself nonstop. He finally breaks down after returning home from a full day of exams. Keith and Hunk are Lance’s roommates and they now have to take care of a delirious Lance who thinks he failed and just wants his momma’s hugs.

-Lance gets a concussion on a mission. Thinking its his own fault for getting distracted, he doesn’t tell the team. Lance reasons with himself, /“its fine, its just a small headache anyway.”/ For the most part, everything goes fine. Lance wasn’t the only one to get hurt so he brushes off the pain in his head. /“Just a little longer. If I cant handle this then I shouldn’t be in this war.”/ Its not until the team is leaving that Lance’s condition escalates dramatically, resulting in shouts of concern from the team as Lance fights to stay awake inside Blue’s cockpit. The last thing he hears before passing out, “stay with me, buddy. Lance? Lance!”

-We all know Lance is homesick. But what happens when Pidge figures out how to make an accurate calendar of earth? Lance realizes just how much he’s missed. And even then, its only the tip of the iceberg. Lance’s little sister? Her birthday passed a week ago. His parents? Their anniversary was about a month ago. He missed his little brother’s first day of school. The team doesn’t notice Lance leaving the room. They dont see the tears falling from his wide eyes. They dont hear his door shut or his muffled sobs as he slides to the floor. Because Lance didn’t know it would hurt this bad. To realize you’ve been in space for almost a year. To realize that, next week, your family would be facing the first year anniversary of your disappearance.

-The team really needs a break. Although Allura would love to protest, even she has to know her limits. They stop on a planet that is known to be peaceful. There, they find the equivalent of a beach resort. Lance is ecstatic! He gets to see an ocean again, one that so closely resembles the one at home! Needless to say, he drags everyone into a beach party, one that everyone loves! As everyone is about ready to head back inside, Lance is still floating in the water. He watches as the team packs up their things and starts to swim his way back to shore. And then he notices. He’s not getting any closer to the shore. Lance begins to panic, calling out to the others. They dont hear him. He’s dragged farther and farther out, screaming for help, and disappears under the surface. /“why didnt they help me?”/ The team doesn’t notice until its too late. Or is it?

Pretence - 4

(Moments) | (Part 1) | (Part 2) | (Part 3)

summary: “For Nat’s sake, Y/N, will you pretend to be my girlfriend?”
words: 1038

Bucky had heard once that if it’s meant to be, it’s going to happen. His mama lived by those words. Maybe that’s why she fought every battle with bright eyes and a smile. It’s why there was never anything she couldn’t do.

There were several times in his life when he questioned the validity of those words. When Sarah Rogers died, he wondered if it meant that he was always going to be responsible for Steve. When Steve liberated the 107th, he wondered if maybe it had always been the other way around. The words lost meaning to him when fell of that train.

When he looks at Y/N, though, with her naked body curled up against him, eyes closed and soft snores escaping her nose, he can’t help but remember them.

He wonders if she remembers anything from last night. He knows he does. He remembers every last word he said, the exact number of times she whispered his name, the expressions on her face of bliss and hurt and anger and desperation. He remembers his own matching desperation, how the only thing on his mind had been bright red hair and sea green eyes and how somehow, somewhere along the way, suddenly all he could think about was Y/N. He remembers how he did what he did to deal with his own misery, like the selfish bastard he is, but how at some point it became something else, something more.

And even now, in his fully conscious and sober state of mind, when the feeling of her skin touching his is supposed to be wrong, it isn’t. He can’t move; He doesn’t want to move, and that scares him.  If it’s meant to be, it’s going to happen.

She stirs beside him, and his breath catches in his throat because he wouldn’t be caught dead staring at her at his most vulnerable, especially when he knows exactly how she’ll react waking up beside him: with a red face, mumbling “this was a mistake” and rushing out of the room as if he’s hurt her.

(And he has, he realizes.)

When she only flips over and falls back asleep, Bucky lets out a breath of air and his lungs can function properly again. He decides maybe it’s best if he goes to take a shower. He’s not sure he could handle himself being beside her when she does wake up, anyway.

They’re at a club, and it’s when Bucky’s sitting between Steve, Sam, Wanda, Sharon, and Y/N, loud music pounding in his veins, that he realizes that if anything, Y/N deserves an Oscar. She’s avoided him expertly for days, and he hasn’t done much on his own part to seek her out either. It’s little things that he’s slowly registered: that she needs space, that he’s probably going to make a bad situation even worse, that this whole dynamic is toxic. For him too, but especially for her.

But this woman, oh god. She’s sitting with the others right now, laughing and talking as if nothing’s wrong at all, and the only reason Bucky can tell that something is off is because he’s concealed his own emotions for years. It’s like someone’s flipped a switch, and Bucky’s not sure why or how, but he’s become aware of how selfish he’s been, to ask someone to leave their whole life behind just so he can deal with his own crushing self worth.

She excuses herself from the group, saying something about getting a drink and winking at Wanda, who laughs in return. He notices her empty glass, and how everyone else has barely had any to drink, and he feels his eyebrows furrow in concern.

He watches her as she sits at the bar, watches how she down a drink quicker than he’s ever downed one, watches how she orders another, then another. And he knows what she’s doing, because drinking to forget? He’s tried that so, so many times.

“Oh my god, Bucky. You’re obsessed with her.” It’s Sharon Carter who finally gets him to look away and tune back into the conversation, and he realizes that everyone’s grinning at him. So he flashes his signature smile, laughs along with the others, when really, it feels like he’s only just noticed her.

Slowly, everyone disperses to their own activity. Wanda goes to the dance floor, Steve and Sharon head out to grab something to eat, saying they’ll be back, and Sam disappears to who knows where?

Bucky stands his ground for a while, until even the bartender is giving Y/N looks of concern. Then he gets up and walks over to the bar, standing beside Y/N. She doesn’t say anything when he gently takes her glass out of her hand and sets it to the side, only looks up at him with hollow, emotionless eyes that make his own throat tighten.

“That’s enough,” he says, but he can barely get the word out of his mouth. He sends Steve a quick text, then slips his arm around Y/N’s back to help her off the bar stool and onto her feet. “Let’s get you home.”

She’s quite as he guides her outside and hails a cab for the two of them. She just stares straight ahead, emotionless, not acknowledging anything. It isn’t until they’re on their way back to the compound that she speaks.

“Bucky?” She says his name so softly he has to strain to hear her. “Why– why me?”

And all Bucky can say to that is “I’m sorry.” He wants to say he’s sorry that she’s hurting, that it’s not at all her fault, that he owes her the biggest apology in the world, but the only words that he can manage to say through his constricting throat are “I’m sorry.” Over, and over, and over.

She doesn’t cry or yell at him like she should. She just goes back to staring outside quietly, leaning her head against the window. Eventually, he sees her close her eyes, and he thinks that maybe she’s asleep, but then she opens her mouth to speak again and the words she whispers make Bucky’s heart clench and his breathing stop.

“I just want the pain to end.”

The Best Picture mix-up wasn't a ratings ploy or white privilege conspiracy.

Y'all, save your brain cells and just scroll on by all of the thinkpieces that will hit the Internet today about what happened with the Best Picture announcement.  I have already been text messaged, tweeted at, and facebook tagged about how it was a stunt for ratings, about how it was a conspiracy to overshadow Moonlight’s historic win, about how white privilege just led Warren Beatty to assume the result.  Maybe because it’s 2017 and there are other things to worry about or maybe because it’s 2017 and I’m tired of the hyperbolic reactions to literally everything, but I’m not here for all the dramatic responses.  The simplest answer is usually the correct one.  I think the saying in med school is something like “If you hear hooves, it’s probably a horse, not a zebra.”  That pretty much carries through most areas of life and the simplest explanation is almost always the correct one.  Let’s break down three things real quick.

You called in for the next two days. Just until the weekend. And then you’d go back on Monday, ready to face your job again after certain heartbreak. Natasha seemed understanding enough. And she was sweet enough to promise not to tell Steve.

“I’ll just tell him you’re sick.” She reassured you a couple times. “I can’t guarantee he won’t try to check in with you though.”

That was okay. You could lie easily enough to Steve over text. He’d asked you if you needed him to bring you soup or just to come spend time with you so you weren’t alone. You wanted to be with him, so much, but you knew it was much better to face this alone. At least for the first few days. You needed time to cry and be sad and mourn the loss of your relationship. But you knew if Steve knew the real reason behind you staying home, he’d respect your wishes.

Peter Parker x Reader, words: 2000+, requested?: yes, warning: none

Requests are open

At one point in your life, Y/N had been a prisoner, trapped inside a machine that had frozen you and kept you trapped against her will. The Cryostasis Chamber haunted your nightmares after you were rescued by the Avengers. You were lucky to be reunited with you older brother and he promised to never leave you. HYDRA had used you just like they had used your brother, to do their dirty work. You felt truly sick to your stomach knowing the harm you had caused innocent people, you could never take it back. You had blood on your hands which constantly made you feel unclean. You felt as though you were unworthy of forgiveness and refused to listen to the voice of reason.

Your brother, along with the other members of the Avengers, told you that it wasn’t your fault and you knew it was true. Yet you still felt like you were to blame. If you hadn’t been so weak, if you hadn’t let HYDRA weasel their way into your mind. To this day, you didn’t know how HYDRA had found you and knew about your relation to Bucky. Your past was foggy to her, you could only recall bits and pieces. What was the truth? While your brother was assigned to kill Nick Fury and Captain America, you were stuck in your frozen prison while her brother did HYRDA’s bidding.

You could remember when you were found, Cap had made it his mission when Bucky had told him his sister was still out there. Your brother had been on the run and Steve promised to bring you back. After he had pulled Steve from the cold water and before he ran off, he told him to find you. You knew why he couldn’t do it himself, he feared HYDRA would capture him again. Steve had told you the story of him finding you about a million times but each time became more and more interesting. You owed him so much.

“It took months,” Steve recalls as he tells the group of Avengers in front of him. They had all heard this story before but Y/N wanted to hear it once again. “Once I had gotten there, there wasn’t a soul in sight. It looked to be abandoned for awhile, at least a month or two.” It had made you so upset that you had been left there as if you were nothing. You knew HYDRA hadn’t relied on you as much as they had your brother, he was stronger and better than you. “We flew you out and didn’t unfreeze you until we were in a safe place.”

“Then I tried to kill you,” you laughed despite it being a terrible thing to do.

“It wasn’t really you.” Steve placed his hand on your shoulder and gave it a squeeze. “Luckily, with time, we got you out of HYDRA’s mind control. It’s great to have you back, Y/N.” Steve had always been like an older brother to you and you were incredibly thankful for him. You gave him a weak smile but it didn’t reach your eyes. You had hurt so many people and you’d never forgive yourself.

“So,” Tony began, getting up from his chair that the large dining room table. “I have an idea.” Everyone at the table seemed to groan in unison. Tony and his ideas. You rolled your eyes. “Hey, hey, hey. It’s a great idea and it has nothing to do with you guys. Well, besides Y/N.” He placed both his hands on your shoulder and gave them a squeeze, it was your turn to groan. “I was thinking school.”

“What? No! No way!” You protested. It wasn’t that you were terrible at school or anything, but you had better things to do. Besides, you had spent so much time brushing up on all things you had missed in history and tinkered around with Tony in the lab. You had wanted to know as much as you possibly could, you wanted to know all the things you had missed since you had been…asleep. “I have much better things to do than going to school.”

“You’re the one that’s always wanting to learn more about the world you live in,” Tony argued. You knew it was no use putting up a fight but you weren’t going to give in so easily. You’d whine until you couldn’t whine any longer.

“If I’m going to school, give me time to get used to everything, okay? I need time to get used to everything.” How did girls your age dress? How did they talk? How were you going to fit in? “I’ll tell you when I’m ready. Until then, think of me as being homeschooled.”

School had been pushed to the back burner when The Avengers had split into teams and fought against each other. You had been away, studying to join the school that Tony was interested in you going to. If you had been home, you would have been fighting right beside your brother and Steve. It had been so long since you had seen your brother and you missed him dearly. You had heard a lot about the battle and how Steve and Bucky had gone into hiding. Hopes of seeing your brother again were growing slim. Until you received an unaddressed note from your brother waiting on your pillow. He promised to see you once again and wished you good luck in school.

Things had been very tense with you and Tony because of the events that happened months ago. You pushed off going to school that year and opted in going the following year. You had too much on your mind.

A sigh escaped your lips as you made your way across the campus to your new school, Midtown School of Science and Technology. Tony thought it would be the best place for you since you were pretty handy in the lab and picked up things pretty easily, you were like the kid he never had. Things between the two you eased up and he began teaching you everything you wanted to learn and more. “Was that a sigh I heard?” a voice from you watch said. Tony had given you a special watch to help you keep in contact with him whenever you needed him.
You lifted your wrist to look at Tony’s face. “I’m nervous, okay? This place is bigger than I thought and I haven’t been to school in-” You were cut off by some flying thing almost crashing into you. Your first instinct was to grab it and destroy it, but you thought against it. Instead, you ducked out of the way. You heard someone yell an apology from the distance but couldn’t tell who it was. “I have to go,” you told Tony as you swiped his face away.

Another sigh left your lips as you gripped the straps of your backpack and entered the building. You had to find the office to get your schedule. When discussing school, you and Tony had agreed that using a fake name would be best. Tony had that he’d deal with everything and to leave it up to him. You were regretting that because you weren’t sure what you were supposed to tell the principal when you entered his office. You gracefully made your way through the crowd, avoiding teenagers from left and right. You still weren’t entirely sure where you were going.

“Um, excuse me,” you stopped in front of a boy who looked to be your age. “I’m looking for the principal’s office. Could you help me?” You gave him your best smile which was met by a smirk. It was then that you knew that you chose the wrong person to ask.

“Yeah, sure,” the boy said, the smirk still plastered on his face. “I’m Flash, by the way.” He wrapped his arm around your shoulders and you so badly wanted to break it. But then he started to walk you towards the office. “Watch out!” he called out to the other students. “New babe coming through!”

You were beyond anger at his comment so when you stopped in front of the office, you threw his arm off your shoulder. “Thanks.” You gripped his hand and gave it a small squeeze, which wasn’t that small of a squeeze when you had super human strength. “Now, don’t ever call me babe again.” A look of pain took over his face and you let go of his hand. “You should probably go to the nurse to get that checked out, get some ice for it.” Without another word, you entered the office.

“Ah! You must be Y/N Stark! Your uncle has told me so much about you,” you were greeted by the school’s principal. “He talked so much about you and how much you excel. I believe this is the best school for you and I hope you agree so too.”

After getting your schedule and leaving the office, you pull Tony’s name up on your watch and dial his number. “Your niece?” you say when you see his face on the screen and before he could even say hello. “I thought this was supposed to be low key. Low key is not being a Stark. That’s high key, very high key.”

“Calm down, Y/N. You needed a guardian to enroll you, you couldn’t just show up and go to class.”

“But couldn’t someone else enroll me? You know, someone who isn’t one of the most well-known billionaires to ever exist.” You noticed people looking at you so you ducked into the girls’ room and made sure it was empty. “I’m not a normal student.”

“You were never normal.”

“That’s not the point, Tony!”

“Now is that any way to talk to your uncle?”

“What’s my backstory? You told them you’re my guardian.”

“Your parents died and I took you in. No one is going to ask, okay? There’s no need to worry.”

“You say that and I’m still worrying.”

Before lunch time, everyone knew who you were. They all knew you were Tony Stark’s niece and everyone wanted to sit with you. All you wanted to do was be normal but instead, you were met with people just wanting to know you because of your relation to Tony Stark. But if they only knew the truth. It felt like sighing was all you had been doing today as another sigh escaped your lips as you looked for a place to sit. Your eyes scanned the crowd of teenagers and almost all eyes seemed to be on you.

You noticed a pair of teens who were in deep conversation with each other and decided those were the people you wanted to sit with. You made your way across the crowded cafeteria, you could feel eyes on you as you walked. You paid no attention to them as you approached the two boys. “Can I sit here?” Now that you were over here, you felt ridiculous. What if they said no? You could always eat alone. It felt as if the whole room was watching you but you just kept looking at the two boys in front of you.

They looked up and both looked shocked that you had asked them if you could sit with them. “Yeah, sure,” the one with black hair and a friendly smile said. “I’m Ned.” You smiled and took a seat in front of them. “This is Peter.”

“Y/N. Y/N Stark,” you greeted.

“Peter knows Tony Stark.”

Your attention turned to the boy who had yet to say a word. You remembered Tony telling you about Spiderman going to your school, that his real name was Peter Parker. “Internship?” you guessed. That’s what Stark had called it. Peter only nodded and turned his attention to the chocolate milk on his tray. When Tony mentioned Peter, you hadn’t thought he’d be so cute. “Tony talks about you a lot. Said you did a great job helping him last year.”

“What all do you know?” Peter looked up from his drink to look at you. He had the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes. He spoke softly so no one around them could hear their conversation.

“That you’re,” you spoke. You stopped to look around before mouthing, “Spiderman.”

“Smart girl,” Ned grinned. “Is it cool being Tony’s niece? How come he’s never talked about you?”

You looked around once again to make sure no one was paying attention to you. “I’m not actually his niece,” you said before biting into a chicken tender. “I’m actually Bucky Barnes’ sister.”

“WHAT?” Ned practically yelled. People seemed to stop what they were doing and look towards your group. Peter slapped his friend’s arm. “Nevermind!” he called out to the cafeteria. People stared for a bit longer before returning to what they had been doing. “Okay, hold up,” he whispered. “Your brother is a criminal! Wait, how old are you? Because he should be hella old along with Captain America. Were you trapped in ice too?”

“You could say that,” you muttered. You weren’t entirely ready to go into detail about your past. “Listen, I don’t think this is the right place to talk about my past.”

“We could go to Peter’s after school,” Ned offered.

“What? Aunt May, remember?” Peter whisper shouted. It had been a couple of months since Aunt May had seen him in his Spiderman costume and she had been beyond angry with him. Peter still couldn’t believe he had managed to talk his way through it all.

“It’ll be fine,” Ned rolled his eyes. “We’ll just say we’re working on a project or something. Helping the new girl catch up on school work. It’ll be a piece of cake.”

“May doesn’t trust me with anything anymore, Ned.” Ned gave his friend a pleading look. “Okay, fine.”

The two them turned back to you, Ned with a smile on his face and Peter with an uneasy look on his. “If we’re doing this, you have to promise me that you will not think any differently of me and that nothing will change your mind about me. Okay? Got it?” The last thing you wanted was for your almost friends to change their mind about you.

To Be Continued….

Pairing: Archie x Reader

Description: Reconciliations between (Y/N) and Archie don’t mean happy endings.

Warnings: none

A/N: I’m so thankful for all of your positive feedback for this series, enjoy!

Archie spent as much time as he could at Pop’s, choosing to sit in a booth that faced the entrance. He would sit there for hours and stare at the door.  Everyone knew why he was doing that, but no one wanted to mention it.  He didn’t need them to tell him; he knew it was hopeless. (Y/N) was not going to return to Pop’s.

Veronica Lodge felt extremely guilty.  She realized that maybe she shouldn’t have told Archie to go to Pop’s, even though he needed to confront her about his feelings.  Archie may have been ready, but it seemed like (Y/N) wasn’t.  That’s how Veronica found herself headed to the diner on a Tuesday night, knowing who she would find sitting in the same booth.

“Archiekins,” she cooed, settling onto the seat across from him, “you gotta snap out of this.  It’s my fault, I know, but you can’t let this destroy you.”

“Why not, Ronnie?” he questioned, and she saw his tear-clouded eyes.  “This is what I have to do to make up for being a horrible friend to (Y/N).  I don’t deserve to be her best friend, so why should I have expected her to want to be more?”

“You didn’t even know she was back,” Veronica comforted him.  “If I hadn’t told you to go to Pop’s, this wouldn’t have happened.”

“It’s good that this happened,” Archie waved her off.  “I needed to know she was back, I needed to tell her.  I just don’t deserve her.”

“That’s not true,” she argued.  He shook his head and turned his focus towards the door.  No one came in.  “I’ll fix this, Archie.  I got you into this mess, and I’ll get you out of this mess.”

(Y/N) was aware of the consequences of her actions.  She knew, as soon as she walked out of the diner, how Archie would respond.  They had been best friends for the first thirteen years of their lives, so she could predict how he would react to this heartbreak. However, she rethought her predictions when a raven-haired girl turned up on her doorstep.

“(Y/N), hi, I’m Veronica Lodge,” the girl introduced herself, sticking her hand out for (Y/N) to shake.  She hesitantly shook it.

“You were at the diner with Jughead and Betty,” (Y/N) recalled, and Veronica nodded.  (Y/N) stepped out onto her porch, closing the door behind her.  “What do you want?”

“Listen, I know what happened between you and Archie,” Veronica explained.

“Do you?” (Y/N) scoffed. “I think you don’t even know the half of it.”

“I know you two grew up together,” Veronica told her.  “I know you two fell in love, and I know that Archie never called you.”

“There’s a lot more to the story,” (Y/N) muttered.  Veronica crossed her arms and sighed.

“I talked to Jughead, Betty, Kevin, even Mr. Andrews.  I know how people other than Archie felt about you.  Archie’s dad told me about your parents and how you always stayed at the Andrews household when they would fight.  Jughead told me about how Archie wanted to ask you to the high school dance before you moved, and he told me about how you two were the most fascinating people in Riverdale.  He, Betty, and Kevin told me about how in love the two of you were.  And from what I’ve seen and heard, it seems like you guys are still very much in love.”  (Y/N) shifted uncomfortably.

“You have no right,” her voice cracked slightly, and Veronica watched as she tilted her head towards the sky, attempting to not cry.  “You can’t just…”

“I’m sorry, I’m just trying to help,” Veronica retracted.  “I’m the one who sent Archie to Pop’s.  He had told me earlier that day that he was still in love with you, and I thought you needed to know.  I thought it would be good for him to get it off his chest.”

“Well now look where we are,” (Y/N) smiled sarcastically.  “We’re on the verge of losing each other because we can’t communicate.”

“Then talk to him,” Veronica urged.  (Y/N) crossed her arms and pursed her lips.  “Talk to Archie, please.  I know he wants to fix this, and I’m pretty sure you do, too.”  (Y/N) stayed quiet for a moment, and Veronica expected for her to send her away.  But (Y/N) uncrossed her arms, still frowning, and sighed.

“Tell Archie to come over here tomorrow,” she instructed Veronica.  Veronica nodded.  “Tell him we need to talk.”

“You wanted to talk, (Y/N)?” Archie asked, tentatively standing on her lawn.  He gazed up at her as she stood at her doorstep; he didn’t want to come any closer until she signaled that it was okay.  (Y/N) grimly nodded and opened her door wider.  Archie walked into her house and glanced around, trying to picture how it looked before she moved.  It was much emptier now.

“It’s pretty empty, I know,” (Y/N) voiced Archie’s thoughts.  His head turned to face her, and he sent a small smile at her. “There’s not much to unpack.”

“It’s different,” Archie agreed.  (Y/N) awkwardly nodded as she hugged her arms to her chest.  “So you told Veronica to tell me that you wanted to talk?”

“Yeah,” she replied. “She showed up at my house yesterday and babbled about how we need to fix this.”

“We do,” Archie pointed out.

“I know,” (Y/N) sighed. Archie furrowed his eyebrows.

“You don’t want to?” he asked, frowning.  (Y/N) furiously shook her head.

“No, I do,” she immediately responded.  “I really want to fix this.  I just… I don’t know how.  I was gonna give it more time.”

“Do you want more time?” Archie questioned.  “If you’re not ready-”

“You’re here,” (Y/N) cut him off.  “You’re here, so we should do this now.”

“What do you want to do?”

“I-” (Y/N) faltered, unable to express what she wanted to say.  She grabbed Archie’s face and brought it towards hers, connecting their lips. He quickly responded by wrapping his arms around her waist and deepening the kiss.  They pulled away, and (Y/N) placed her forehead against Archie’s.  He was grinning madly, but she only wore a small smile.

“You wanted more time to do that?” Archie softly laughed.  (Y/N) untangled herself from Archie’s arms and hugged herself again. “(Y/N)?”

“I didn’t want to…” she trailed off, swallowing her next words.  Archie took a step towards her and grabbed her hand.

“Didn’t want to what?” he asked.  “You didn’t want to kiss me?”

“I did,” (Y/N) assured him, placing the hand he wasn’t holding on his cheek.  “I really did, Arch, but I didn’t want to hurt you.”

“This isn’t hurting me,” he consoled her.  “Sure, after the diner incident I was upset, and I’m sure you were too, but we’re okay now.”

“No we’re not,” (Y/N) began to cry, so Archie wrapped his arms around her.  Her head was nestled into his chest.

“What do you mean?”

“I’m not-” her voice was muffled by Archie’s shirt. “I’m not staying in Riverdale.”

“What?” Archie grabbed (Y/N) by the shoulders and held her so that he could look directly into her eyes.

“I might have to go back to New York,” she elaborated.

“Why?”

“You still don’t know why I’m back,” (Y/N) sadly laughed.  When she saw the puzzled look on Archie’s face, she continued.  “My parents finally got divorced.  My mom wanted to move back here, so I decided to go with her.  But my dad still wants custody over me, so-”

“So you might have to go back,” Archie finished, sighing.  (Y/N) nodded.

“It’s not definite yet, but… they’re going to court next week.  And the chances aren’t in my mom’s favor, seeing as my dad’s a pretty good lawyer.”

“But what about you?” Archie pressed, and (Y/N) stared at him, confused by what he meant.

“What about me?”

“What do you want, (Y/N)?” he asked, drawing her slightly closer to him.  “Who do you want to be with?”

“I want to be with you, Archie,” she replied, stroking a hand across his cheek.  He closed his eyes as he relished in her gentle touch.

“So can’t you say that in court?” Archie questioned.  “Can’t you tell them that you want to stay with your mom here in Riverdale?  Isn’t that what this is all about?”

“It’s not that simple, Arch,” she sighed.  “Sure, I can give my preference and it might weigh the court towards my mom, but there’s more factors than that.”

“You’re going to stay here, (Y/N),” Archie assured her as he enveloped her in a hug.  “We will make sure you stay in Riverdale.”

“God I hope so, Arch,” (Y/N) sighed into his chest.  “I don’t want to leave you anymore.”

“You won’t ever leave me, (Y/N).  I will never let you go again.”

Masterlist

“Are you mad at me?”

“Of course I’m mad at you, Jason!” You sigh, slumping down onto the couch of the living room of your shared apartment, running a hand through your hair as you nervously avoid eye contact with your boyfriend. “I never see you anymore. If you’re not on patrol then you’re with her–you’re never home! Never here with me!”

“She’s only a friend, Y/N,” Jason frowns, softly taking a seat beside you with delicate movements. His large and calloused hand lands gently on your knee, fingers curving around the bend of your leg. “I promise.”

You don’t say anything, your eyes trained on the coffee table placed in front of the two of you. It had been longer than you’d liked to admit before you had snapped and yelled at him. In an almost childish move of anger and heartache you had decided to give your best shot at annoying the heck out of Jason by giving him what you hoped would be one of your most stubborn silent treatments.

Minutes pass as you sit in silence, your eyes unmoving from the table as you tried your hardest not to cave in. The man you loved sat beside you, patiently waiting for you to say anything that would reassure him of your love for him. But it didn’t come.

Your eyes water as you remember all the times you had fallen asleep alone. All the times you had woken up without the warmth of Jason’s body curled around yours like you had done so many times weeks before. You hardly remembered the last time you had kissed. You remember the sleepless nights, staying awake as you waited for Jason to come home only to fall asleep and wake up to a vacant apartment.

You remembered the moment Jason had introduced you to his friend. She was beautiful and you hadn’t failed to notice so. You remembered the way she looked at your boyfriend, her gaze longing and filled with almost as much love for him as yours. The girl was the sister of one of Jason’s closer allies and he had been tasked as help to make sure she stayed safe for the first few weeks of her new life in Gotham City. You remembered how you had happily welcomed the thought of Jason helping her settle down.

Your heart ached as you realised that it had almost been two weeks since she moved here. There was no need for Jason to be spending so much time with her. You could only think of one possible reason.

“Stop ignoring me…”

You run your palms over your face, blinking away tears that threatened to fall. Ignoring the pounding of your heart in your chest and the feeling that you were going to spill your insides out, you take a deep breath.
“Just friends?” You ask, your heart breaking as he nods with a blank expression. You almost wince at the lie.

Jason hated this. He knew it was only his fault that he had found himself in this situation. It wasn’t like he wanted to hurt you because he really didn’t. A gut wrenching feeling stirred in the pit of his stomach as he cursed at his luck. Of course, just as he broke off whatever had been happening between him and this girl, his relationship with you would come crumbling down on him. It was almost as if he could hear your heart snap.

It tore him apart to think of all the wasted hours that he had spent with her when he could have spent them with you instead. He was so caught up in her that he failed to realise just how much he missed you. Just how much he needed you in his arms.

Jason was too caught up in the idea of her beauty and charm that he had forgotten that he had the most beautiful and most charming person in his world waiting for him to come back home.

“That’s not what Artemis told me, Jason,” Your eyes finally meet his. He noticeably flinches under your gaze. Jason could see the pain and heartache he had put you through. “She told me that the two of you were pretty damn close.”

“Y/N, I need you to listen-”

“No. Jason, I wasted so much time waiting for you to come around. I wasted so much time so that I could give you a chance.” You let your tears fall, the wet substance tasting salty on your lips. “I can’t do this anymore, Jay. I’m tired–I’m so exhausted and I-and I tried so hard to keep moving forward with us but I can’t anymore.”

“Please, Y/N,” Jason’s hands move to take yours into his, his own eyes watering as the scalding words fall from your lips. He wasn’t going to give up. “I-I made a mistake. And dammit, I’m so sorry. I’m so so sorry, baby.”

“I thought about us, Jason. You–you obviously don’t love me anymore and she-she’s obviously got your heart the way that I once had it.” You let out a quiet sob as you watch him shake his head, tears staining his cheeks as he gazed at you with agonizing eyes. “She must have been able to give you so much more than I could.”

“No. No, don’t say that,” Jason runs a hand through his hair, his blood running cold with fear of the consequences of his mistakes. “I love you and I always will. How could–”

“Her hair is longer. Her eyes are prettier. Her teeth are straighter. Her skin is clearer. Her laugh is cuter. If I were you, I wouldn’t choose me either.”

Jason purses his lips as he pulls you into his chest, his tears falling onto your hair as he cried. He was sure you could hear the cracks forming in his heart, your ear pressed against the positioning of his heart. He scolds himself silently for letting you come to think like this. The amount of pain that had laced your voice was enough to make him want to curl up under the sheets of your shared bed with you held tightly in his arms until the both of you grow old.

“Y/N,” Jason almost hiccups. “You’re so much more than she’ll ever be to me. Yes, she was stunning. Yes, she was beautiful. But she could never compare to you. God, Y/N, I’m so sorry I didn’t realise sooner because dammit we were so perfect before I-before I fucked up so badly.”

He lets your tears fall onto his chest, your arms wrapping around him as you curled into him. Jason’s hands hold you tightly, his strong arms pulling you as close to him as possible. Jason was going to make sure you never felt this way again. He wanted you to be the happiest you had ever been with him and this was finally the moment he had realised just how much he needed to cherish you. Jason wouldn’t ever let you fall asleep alone again and he would make sure that he was by your side every morning that you would wake.
