A British bike on the 4th of July. The Triumph Bonneville, named after the salt flats in Utah, was the bike of choice for American icons ranging from Bob Dylan to Steve McQueen as well as many other ordinary Americans. The bike was fitted with larger gas tank (as seen on my bobber) and given more power to tackle the wide-open spaces. The Bonneville could be found on our roads, flat-tracks, dunes and beaches. So yes, a British bike on the 4th of July.
This particular bike is my ‘68 Bonneville, rigid, 650cc T120. Bare-boned, bobbed to the absolute minimum, lacking in comfort (and brakes) but full of speed and character.
