guys … here’s a short film I made 10 years ago (!), when I was a literal infant (lol). It’s Oedipus Rex in 4 minutes, y’all.

(technical note: this was shot on a standard definition Sony mini-DV camera, the same used to shoot David Lynch’s Inland Empire.)

anonymous asked:

how much are medical professionals taught about tattoos, how to treat infections of them, how to discern if a patient's problems are from getting a bad tattoo, tattoo aftercare etc? what do you all think about tattoos and tattooing? mostly i'm just curious.

We aren’t taught anything at all about tattoos.  At least not in nursing school.  (I don’t know about doctors, but I would guess only dermatologists learn much about them.)  There was a passing mention that dirty tattoo equipment can spread Hepatitis C and other bloodborne diseases, but no detailed information on aftercare or anything like that.

Personally I think tattoos are like any other art form; there’s good work and bad work out there, and the good work is really amazing.  Medically, I think the risks are very low if you go to a responsible professional artist and follow their aftercare instructions.

And even more personally, I want a sweet T-rex skull on my shoulder sometime.

when the leaves turn gray and only a timid piece
of an asparagus imitates aesthetic space

when the smudged paint imprints itself on clown faces
and nuclear bombs seem colorful as rainbows

when flowers seem to be gravestones of past joys
and when every seed is grown in television

when we imbibe video game streams chanting
“cut out the jams” like it was the last religion

when art is made by the AI instead of our interest
and we live with the dried-up Bottichellis

when we are nubile in 3D ejaculating not with body
but allowing the fantasy the honor of having it

when vhs tapes roll about the sarcophagus of T-rex
and music dusts the unused syringe of a junkie

when the tyranny of the identity dreams a president
and he stumbles without hair in wasteland earth

that is the great age of man when I can sit in my room
all alone writing about it without any greater care

A good boy and a friend. The old rex enjoys relaxing in scenic spots as he waits for his next meal to stray nearby.

This little T-Rex was made to be roughly scientifically accurate, with a nice coat of ‘feathers’. He’s made with armature wire and polymer clay, painted with acrylics, and covered with rabbit fur. He was painstakingly made with love over the course of a year and he’s finally ready to go to a new home!

He’s available on Esty if you’re interested!
