I like how Ursula is the big baddie when she quite literally laid out everything Ariel would have to face with that deal.
Ursula: “Yeah, well you get three days and if it doesn’t work, I getta keep ya. Also, your voice is mine to do with as I wish and you can’t use it”
20 minutes later in the movie
Ariel: “Ursula is using my voice??!! Oh no, how could she? the cheater!”
Like. Arial pls. What did you expect. You literally went to a witch that everyone said is nasty and then you’re SURPRISED.
Also, like… Ursula never once said she couldn’t interfere. She just said Ariel had to do it.
Then Ariel BROKE the contract by reclaiming and using her voice, immediately putting her into Ursula’s possession since Ursula is the damaged party. Like, it was right there in the contract. Triton read the contract and understood that Ariel was an idiot, hence why he was willing to hand over his trident.
In contact terms, Ursula is just a good business octopus.
True villain: Eric because he was easily bewitched and really is a little dense.
