Want to Wear: Swimspot.com bikini builder suit (where are you summer?)

Swimspot.com offered us Lucky Magazine Alpha Shoppers the opportunity to browse their site and give our feedback. I love when smart brands ask for this feedback because it means they really care about their customers and providing the best online shopping experience possible.

The site allows you to browse by hot trends, body type, color, style, etc. the list goes on and on. The site also has a Bikini Builder section, which allows you to customize the perfect suit. Between the browsing, sorting and customization options, this site is perfect for the most savvy and particular shopper and I’m so impressed. They also have The Spot which is their online blog discussing hot and timely trends beyond swimwear – from the Golden Globes to New York Fashion Week. Again, to me, this shows that Swimspot.com is committed to the overall idea of trends and fashion, not just selling something you wear on the beach.

I used the Bikini Builder to create this suit. Now I just need to wait for this frigid New York weather to warm up so I can put this cute ensemble to work!

Summer Mommy Must-Haves: SwimSpot Review

Growing up in San Diego means that I spend a good portion of my Summer each year in a bathing suit. Before I had Elodie, I never spent much time fussing about my bathing suit. I fit in the same ones year after year and usually bought them when they were on sale.

Now that I am a Mom, I am much more particular about swimsuits and other more “revealing” clothing. I still have not lost all of the baby weight, I have various stretch marks and, and my body has definitely changed. My old swim suits are not very flattering on me. This Summer, I wanted something I would feel comfortable in to wear to the beach for all of our days spent playing in the sand.

It had to be modest, flattering on my figure, and something that wasn’t going to easily expose me while I chase around my toddler daughter.

SwimSpot has a huge variety of girl’s and women’s swimsuits. It is easy to search through based on brands, size, or style. They even offer a Fit Specialist that helps you find swim suits that are designed for your body shape, and a Bikini Builder, where you can mix and match tops and bottoms based on your preferences.

I selected the lovely Athena Heavenly Halter One Piece swimsuit in black from SwimSpot.com. Since I am pear shaped, I like that the design focuses attention upward away from my bottom half. The bodice has some shirring which actually has a slimming effect.

I wanted a one piece that would really offer some coverage without being too conservative. I really like this suit because it meets all of my needs and I actually like the way I look in it!

I do recommend that before you order a suit, that you take the time to open up the Sizing Chart and measure yourself. This way you are sure to get a good fit while buying online, because each brand’s sizing is slightly different. My bathing suit from Athena was very accurate to the measurements listed on the website.  It is a little bit of a squeeze for me to actually get into the bathing suit, but once it is on, it fits my body like a glove.

I honestly thought that it was a great experience to shop for my bathing suit online! I did not have to feel uncomfortable in the dressing room trying on unflattering bathing suits in the glaring lights and unforgiving mirrors. I was able to browse through their entire selection just by scrolling down a page, instead scouring racks for the right size. For moms, it is nice to have the convenience and privacy of shopping for your swim suit in the comfort of your home. And orders over $75 even qualify for free shipping! I think they are offering a great service to the modern, internet savvy Mom. Do yourself a favor and enjoy your bathing suit shopping experience for once. :)
