recently in the netherlands two children, both refugees, died in a swimming pool because they couldn’t swim. tragic. they ran away from a war just to die at the bottom of a pool. i can’t even think about it without feeling a lump in my throat. the royal dutch swimming federation wants to make sure this never happens again by offering free swimming lessons to underage refugees. great! right? not if you look at the comments online. lots of people are complaining “why do THEY get it for free, what about dutch families who are struggling and can’t afford swimming lessons!?” followed by a string of racist bullshit. i get it. it’s unfair. truly. but whose fault is that? not the refugees’. let’s face it. we have enough resources to go around. we can easily afford to send ALL children to swimming classes for free but we don’t because… PROFIT. wake the fuck up. stop your racist bullshit and start complaining about the people who are actually responsible.
The Roch Ness Monster washed up on the shore of Hollingworth Lake in Rochdale, England on August 2nd, 2015. It measures over a meter and a half long and has a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. This creature has not been officially identified but some people believe it to be a pike. Nevertheless, locals are certainly wary of letting their children swim in the lake.
