James March: Overprotective

You’ve been living with James for almost a year now and he’s given you everything you could ask for and more. The best gift that he’s given you is his undying love and loyalty.

But lately you’ve been going a little insane. Although you don’t mind having a few drinks at the Blue Parrot Lounge with your friends, you felt like you needed a night out in the city. Being around new scenery is something that’ll make you oh so happy. But your boyfriend James will never allow it. It comforts him knowing that you’re safe and sound under his very own roof. Whenever you wanted to do a little shopping during the day or wanted to have lunch with your girlfriends, he had no issue with that because in his eyes, daytime in Los Angeles is a lot safer than at night.

You told yourself that today is going to be the day that you stand up and convince your sweetheart, James to let you out. Your girlfriends had their fingers crossed for you, even Liz and Sally do.

After searching around the hotel for James, you finally found him on Floor 7. You didn’t need a key for the door because it was already wide open. Of course, your boyfriend was playing 1920′s Jazz music. He despised modern day music. But, you do love how old fashioned James is. Especially since you can’t find a lot of men nowadays like that.

James was sitting on the couch, polishing his cane when you found him. “Ah dearest!” He greeted you with a smile, revealing his dimples.

You slowly started getting nervous, knowing you’ll have to ask him the one question that he despises. “Hi James.”

“Come. Sit on my lap.” He patted a hand on his thigh.

“Actually, I didn’t come here to sit. I came here to ask you something.” You started slowly pacing around the room, trying not to make it look noticeable, but you couldn’t help it.

Luckily, James was too focused on polishing his beloved cane that he didn’t notice. “Anything. If it’s money that you need, you know darling, you have the code to my vault.”

“Yes I know, but it isn’t that. I was kind of hoping, you know-” You paused. “-if you would allow me to go out tonight with my friends?”

James’s mood went from cheerful to displeased. He set his cane to rest against the couch, then walked over to pour himself a drink. He dramatically sighed and you swallowed from nervousness.

You know when James gives you the silent treatment, it’s not a good sign. So you kept your mouth shut, awaiting to hear words form from his mouth.

“Darling, we have discussed this before. Have we not?” James said while still keeping his back towards you, after finally turning around to face you slowly.

“Y-yes we have. Like I get it, you can’t be there to watch me, but-” You responded, then James cuts you off.

“Indeed. And to your misfortune, my answer is still no.” James objected.

“But that’s not fair. I’m still young. I’m not even 30 yet. I feel like a caged animal.” You whined, standing up to cross your arms in front of you in disagreement.

“Ah yes. And a caged animal that is more than alive and well. Am I correct?” James asked.

No. No is the word you hated hearing the most. You rolled your eyes at James then attempted to storm out of the room, but James catches your wrist.

“And to where do you think you’re off to?” James asks while tightening his grip on your small wrist.

“Leaving you forever if you don’t let go of me.” You spat, trying to shake off his hand around your wrist, but James’s strength doesn’t allow it.

James clenched his jaw to help prevent himself from going off on you because of your sudden attitude. “Sit.” He demanded, eyeing you, then eyeing the couch for you to sit on.

“Why?” You scoffed.

“Dearest. Do as I say or else your shopping trips will be no more.”

“Fine.” You said, then James releases his grip from your wrist and you sat on the couch, crossing one leg over the other, eager to hear what he has to say.

“I will allow you this night with your companions.”

Your eyes lit up from excitement and you stood up. This was a first. “What?! Really?!”

“Under these conditions.” James demanded, pointing a finger in the air.

“Okay?” You narrowed your eyes at James.

“You musn’t be out past 1:00″

“Ugh, 2:00.” You suggested, hoping he would agree. But unfortunately, he didn’t.

“1:30″ James said and you mouthed ‘fine’. “And someone will be present to watch over you.”

“Okay seriously? Who?” You asked, putting your hands on your hips.

“My darling friend, John Lowe.” James smiled at you.

“Great. So John is going to babysit my friends and I.” You didn’t agree to having John watch over you and your friends. But, it’s better than James not allowing you go out at all. So you just let it be, hoping that overtime, James can see that you are able to take care of yourself. Which is when pigs fly.

(Hours Later…)

As much as you wished James could go out with you, you were so excited for tonight. Thankfully, John wasn’t dreading tonight like you thought he would. He told you that he’s looking forward to having a drink or two. Having a designated driver also wouldn’t be necessary because majority of the bars are walking distance.

Once John was out of the shower and in his robe, James, being the ghost that he is, popped up in his hotel room. I guess their friendship is so close that James even does John’s hair.

“John, be sure to keep a close eye on my beloved Y/N.” James stated.

“Of course. You know I will.” John said.

“And if anything is out of line. I insist you bring her back to me.” The concern in James’s voice wasn’t hard to ignore. John nodded his head at James.

After James was finished on his hair, he left the room to let John change.

Once you were finished getting ready, you made sure to say goodbye to your lover. You especially made sure to thank him for letting you out tonight by giving him a passionate kiss.

You headed to the lobby only to see that John isn’t in sight, so you assumed he wasn’t ready yet.

Seeing that Iris is at the front desk, you decided to stand and chat with her while you wait for John.

Minutes later he arrives from the elevator looking a tad bit overdressed. You assumed it was James’s doing.

“Ready to go?” John said once he reached the front desk.

You grabbed your clutch from the counter, holding it down at your side. “Yes, officer.”

“Hey hey. It’s not my fault that your boyfriend is so paranoid and overprotective of you.” John chuckled.

“I know. Well lets make a fun night out of it.” You shrugged.

Just as the two of you were making your way to walk out. You see James by the railings at the Blue Parrot Lounge watching you with a drink in his hand. “I love you!” You shouted to James, then blew him a kiss. With drink in hand, he bent out that arm to you with a smile.

James March: Surely Missed

It has been 12 days since you have been gone on vacation with your family. Those 12 days in The Bahamas were definitely memorable but you missed your James oh so dearly. Your family members would always ask about meeting him, but you just weren’t ready. James was…. different.

Before leaving, you tried your best to teach James how to use a smartphone so that the both of you can keep in contact while you were gone. But James being old-fashioned and very stubborn, wasn’t having it. You even tried something as simple as a flip phone, and no luck. He despised the modern world. Especially modern technology.

It did make you quite sad because you wouldn’t get to talk to him whenever you wanted to, but you just sucked it up for the sake of seeing your family.

You did, although, have Sally send you a couple of videos here and there of James saying quick hello’s and how much he misses you. He even told you that he planned a nice dinner upon your arrival.

……….

5:49pm

After a long flight, you finally landed in LA and you took a taxi back to your home AKA Hotel Cortez. The taxi driver helped unload your luggage from the trunk and went on his merry way back into the LA traffic.

You took a deep breath in, inhaling the LA air. You did miss it. Then, you entered through the front doors. You started walking straight towards the elevators because you were so excited, yet oddly nervous to see James.

Liz is at the check in wearing her reading glasses reading a book. Seeing a figure walk by, she looked up. When she realized it was you, she put her glasses on the desk, still holding onto her book. “Hey, Y/N. How was your vacay?” Liz asked.

You stopped to answer. “It was amazing! But I missed James so much.” As you brought up your lover’s name, you pouted a little. “If you see Sally before me, tell her I said thanks for sending me videos of James.”

“You got it hun.” Liz put her glasses back on and continued reading her book, then you headed inside the elevator.

Once you reached your penthouse suite, you actually weren’t surprised that James wasn’t in the room. You figured he was in his office or prepping for dinner tonight. It made you quite sad because you were looking forward to smothering him in kisses. Oh well.

Letting out a sigh, you put your bags down and chose to unpack later, feeling a big jet lagged. Your bed was the first thing you wanted to lay on, but instead, you noticed a note was left on it from James.

Dearest,

I ask that you do not look for me. As I am currently preparing for our special dinner tonight. We shall meet in the dining room at 8 o’clock. A new attire is awaiting in your closet.

Yours, James.

Where James’ name lied on the paper, you lightly touched it with your fingertips as a big smile hit your face. You folded the note back up and placed it on the bed. Excitedly, you headed to your closet to look at the dress that James picked out for you.

In your closet, you see a dark blue silk gown with a high slit. It’s very elegant. He also paired it with silver strappy heels.

Leaving the dress where it is, you decided to start with a hot shower, wishing that James could’ve joined you.

Because of that long flight, you definitely took your time in the shower. Soaking up all that hot steam.

Once you were finished showering, you started on makeup to allow your hair to air dry in the meantime. You kept the eye shadow neutral and paired it with a dark burgundy lip.

Your makeup is finally finished, so you start with blow drying your hair. Halfway through blow drying, you hear a knock on your door. It did surprise you a little. You had a confused look on your face as you were on your way to open the door.

At your door is Ms. Evers with a bouquet of flowers. “From, Mr. March.” She smiles as she’s handing the roses to you.

“Oh wow, I wasn’t expecting this at all. Thank you, Ms. Evers!” You started smelling the roses as you closed the door. They are beautiful. This is exactly why you’re so in love with James. He’s charming, he’s a gentleman, and most of all, he knows how to make his lady feel special. Yes, he’s a psychotic serial killer. But to you, he’s one in a million.

You set the roses on the bed and finished with you hair, styling it as an updo.

Finishing up with your new gown and shoes.

……….

7:56pm

You finished getting ready just in time and started heading out the door, into the elevator to floor 7, room 78.

Once you reached the door, you knocked 3 times. You can hear Ms. Evers and James talking through the door. So you lean in, putting your ear closer to the door so you can hear what they’re saying. Making you giggle a little from being so nosey.

“Would you like me to get that for you, Mr. March?” Ms. Evers asks James.

“Oh no no, that’s alright.” James replies. He was acting like a giddy little school girl. He missed you so much and you being away for this amount of time was quite a change for him. This was the longest that you’ve been away from him.

“Darling!” James shouts, as opening the door reveals the sight of you.

“Oh, sweetheart!” You rush to James and give him a kiss on the lips, standing on your tip toes to reach up to him.

“I’ve missed you so dearly.” James says in a soft tone.

“You don’t understand how much I’ve missed you.”

He grabs your hand to kiss it and then he leads you to your seat. Being the gentleman that he is, he pulls your chair out for you. Once you’re seated, he rushes over to his seat.

“Help yourself, my queen.” Dinner was already in front of you.

“Thanks, James.” The both of you put the clothed napkin on your laps. You were starving so you started to eat.

After taking 2 bites of your food, you noticed that James was being a little fidgety and hasn’t started eating. Instead, he kept looking back and forth at you with a smile on his face. Making you feel a little awkward. You’ve never seen James act this odd at dinner.

In confusion, you looked at your food, then you looked at him asking, “Yes?”.

Excitedly, James asks, “How is the outside, darling?”

You smiled at him with loving eyes because of how excited he sounded asking you. It was just so cute. He must’ve really missed you. Maybe even more than you missed him. With James, though, he doesn’t show that side of his emotions as strongly as you do. Most of the time, he tries to contain it. But that’s just how he is and you didn’t mind it.

“Well, The Bahamas was breathtaking. If only you could have joined.” You sighed. “It’s really hard too because my family keeps asking me why you don’t leave the hotel.”

“And what do you say?” James asks, He finally calms his excitement a little and starts on his dinner.

“I just tell them it’s complicated.” You shrugged your shoulders as you let out laugh, then took a bite of your food.

“Ah, yes.” Ms. Evers pours whiskey in James’ empty glass and then pours wine in yours.

James grabs his glass of whiskey, raising it up to cheers and you follow after.

“Cheers. To reuniting with my beloved.” He says, making eye contact with you.

“Reuniting? It’s been 12 days, not 12 years.” You said sarcastically. “How about we cheers to us?”

James raises his glass slightly higher, then you doing the same. “To us.”

The both of you take a sip of your drinks and continued finishing up with dinner. Out of curiosity, you ask James, “So what do you have planned for dessert?”

James smirks as he takes another sip of his whiskey. “You, dearest.”

Oh, you can’t wait.

Thomas, Madison, and Burr held hands while they walked towards the food court. Burr in the middle, Maidson on his left and Jefferson on his right. They decided to get something to eat after a long day of shopping. Thomas being Thomas brought along a chaperone to carry the bags who probably went back to put them all in the car. Of course, Madison told him that it wasn’t necessary but he was more stubborn than him so James just sighed and just went along with it.

Coffee-Stained Hearts

A/N: the ‘someone just spilled coffee all over me and my computer which had the only copy of my paper due in 15 minutes, and it seems like that someone might be the lead actor in my favourite show’ au that no one asked for

Her last assignment was due in 15 minutes. Lily could practically taste the freedom, could feel the summer months ahead. She sipped her coffee, hovering her mouse over the ‘send’ button. She took a deep breath, about to hit the button, when she heard the high-pitched sound of shoes sliding against the tile floor and all of the sudden her skin was burning -

“What the hell!” Lily exclaimed, jumping up from her seat in the coffee shop, glaring at the person who had just spilled incredibly hot coffee all over her, her new dress and her computer. She did a double take, because it seemed to be that the asshole who had just ruined her day was the lead actor in her favourite show, The Marauders. But that didn’t matter now.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” he said, immediately grabbing some napkins from the table and handing them to her. “I’m so so sorry.”

Under any other circumstances, it would be a dream to meet James Potter. Devilishly handsome, a phenomenal actor, relatively famous, and just generally a cute person, he was every girls dream. But not Lily’s, at least not at this moment.

Lily scowled, her eyes burning into him. And if looks could kill, well, let’s just say that there would be a lot of crying teenage girls all over the world.

“Say that to my computer. That was the only copy I had of my final English Lit  paper, that just happens to be due in 15 minutes.”

“I have told you, and I told you truly that I love you too much. You engross my thoughts too entirely to allow me to think of any thing else. You not only employ my mind all day; but you intrude upon my sleep. I meet you in every dream—and when I wake I cannot close my eyes again for ruminating on your sweetnesses. ‘Tis a pretty story indeed that I am to be thus monopolized, by a little nut-brown maid like you—and from a statesman and a soldier metamorphosed into a puny lover. I believe in my soul you are an enchantress; but I have tried in vain, if not to break, at least, to weaken the charms—you maintain your empire in spite of all my efforts—and after every new one, I make to withdraw myself from my allegiance my partial heart still returns and clings to you with increased attachment.”

Alexander Hamilton to Elizabeth Schuyler, [5 October 1780]
