Remember this collar from a few weeks ago? This is the original pattern, done in full instead of skipping straight to the last row the way I did upon realizing just how short I was on the necessary SuperDuos. That being said, I should note that the rice-like beads in this are actually Preciosa Twin Pressed beads rather than SuperDuos, and frankly, they fit together so much better when I was doing this that it wasn’t even funny. The gold-and-green collar would probably lie properly flat if I made enough rows to fan out the way this is arranged, but I really think switching to beads that fit more snugly together the way these do made a lot of difference, too.
A fine Mila Schön couture silver beaded and white tulle evening dress, circa 1966
Labelled, of white tulle over ivory silk, covered with shimmering Swarovski crystal and bugle beaded snowflake-like roundels
Mila Schön gained international recognition when two of her white and silver dresses were worn at Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball in November, 1966, by Marella Agnelli and Lee Radziwell, who were voted first and third best-dressed women respectively.
New necklace finished the other night. Original pattern was Ivy Trails, in Oct. 2016 Bead and Button Magazine. I used Scarabeus glass pearls and bicones and substituted drop beads for leaves, also charlottes for size 15s.
Watch a short video on how to make a Safety Pin Bracelet from start to finish by Hannah for truebluemeandyou.
My best friend Hannah (who made the Rubik’s Cube video), also makes the best safety pin bracelets and sells them on Etsy and at boutiques (she’s made and sold over a thousand bracelets so far). Her beautiful bracelets have been pinned thousands of times on Pinterest, the Silver Warrior Safety Pin Bracelet Cuff being the most popular.
So, I asked Hannah to make a video tutorial on how to make these DIY Safety Pin Bracelets bracelets she sells for my readers. So now you can make Hannah’s Safety Pin Bracelets that don’t look cheap too.
