Hello- I am very interested in starting a diet for my dosha which is Kapha. Although some of the things that say that is what I am is not true most are. What is an easy way to start? Also what supplements are good for me to take. Right now I take cholesterol, hormone replacement therapy, thyroid and acid reflux meds. I am overweight I had been working out 4-5 days a week but do to any injury had to stop. Is drinking from a copper cup good? And can I have my 11 year old daughter & husband use it?

The easy way to start is to introduce kapha balancing condiments into your diet. Kapha pacifying diet is mostly warm and astringent in nature. Adding powdered black pepper to your yogurt can be a start point. You can add 3-4 drops of fresh ginger juice to fresh lemon water. Introduce cinnamon and cumin powder in your food preparations. You can add two cloves to rice being boiled. Start cooking some veggies in sesame oil. Start practicing Surya mudra. Surya mudra will help in balancing the kapha and reducing bad cholesterol. The caution here is to do things in moderation. Excessive use of condiments and excessive practice of Surya mudra can increase pitta dosha. For acid reflux you can take Avipattikar Churna (1 teaspoon with water once a day). You can also take Bio Combination – 25 (5 pellets four times a day) if this churna is not available in your geography. BC-25 can be purchased from any homeopathic pharmacy. You can take any Vitamin B supplement. B vitamins increases metabolism and they are good for kapha types.

Drinking from copper cup is really good. Keep water in copper cup overnight. Keep the cup on wooden surface. You and your family should drink this water first thing in the morning. The water in copper cup has an excellent hado. It helps in curing constipation and aids detoxification. There are many other benefits (you can google that).

hello sir i want to practise surya mudra for weight loss as i am short tempered person i will get angry quickly can i practise surya mudra

Surya mudra is fine if you have a specific weight reduction target. Restrict the practice to 10 minutes in a day. As you mentioned about your temper, Sheetali and Sheetkari pranayama must be part of your daily practice. Both these pranayamas will help you. These are very easy to practice. Along with this, you must change your diet. Avoid tea, coffee, spicy and pungent food. Take cooling fluids like fresh sweet grape juice, pomegranate juice, coconut water and wood apple squash. Pure ghee or olive oil or coconut oil should be the preferred cooking medium.
