surprisingly poignant

still cant get over the fact that the iasip writers took one look at their closeted gay character with internalized homophobia and realized that thats not what the lgbt community needs right now and decided “fuck it” and had him come out of the closet in a surprisingly poignant moment that was the antithesis of what the show is about like……..
that happened

Twenty two years have passed since the defeat of Pitch, and Jack lives alone, touch-starved, with only the company of a solitary Nightmare. One evening the Man in the Moon sets him on a path that will lead him to unexpected relationships, draw the attention of the Guardians to a new coalition of villains, and challenge Jack’s every notion of what it is to be good, evil, and what it is to live in the shadows.

so my friend told me to read this fic by @not-poignant and i was bored so i did and it turned out to be hella amazing so here’s a badly made trailer for it that’ll i’ll just leave here

fake tv show: Endocarp to Epicarp

@kingpeachyy said: show about people who like to try fun fruits. Find the wackiest fruits and just                       c o n s u m e  :)

When self-proclaimed foodie Karen (Lupita Nyong'o) is diagnosed with only a few months left to live, she teams up with her friends (Jamie Clayton, Joseph Gordan Levitt and Riz Ahmed) to try every fruit on earth. Whacky, heartfelt and surprisingly poignant, this comedy may surprise you.

Chili Peppers

Chili Peppers by justanothersong
Rating: T
Word Count: 12,700 (36,100 for Chili Pepper ‘Verse)
Summary: Dr. Winchester hears an off hand comment from one of his students and find himself browsing a website dedicated to rating university professors. He’s not surprised by his rating – but is a little miffed to see the department chair has an even better one. Clearly, something needs to be done about this.

Dear God if only my college classes went like this. When Dr. Winchester (that will never not be hot) discovers an image of a chili pepper on his Rate Your Professor page, he learns that he is being rated on the curve… of his ass as well as his ability to teach. He is surprisingly OK with that until he learns that Dr. James is considered hotter. The classroom antics that ensue are simply hilarious.

I loved this wee bit of cracky fluff and squealed in delight when I saw there were additional entries in the 'verse. The second entry, Coming Home,  is surprisingly poignant while maintaining the humor, banter and heart that marked the first entry. The last entry is still under construction (ie a WIP), and I look forward to seeing what else is in store for Drs. Winchester and James.

Glance’s SorMik Picks

There’s so much out there, I thought I’d share my favorite Sorey x Mikleo fics with all of you!

Purity of Your Smile by evr – Unique in that it follows a situation in which Mikleo isn’t sure what his feelings are at first, and they grow over time.  It shows some tender mishaps along the way.

Elixer Vitae by brightwinged – Smut that features the water armatus, and gets surprisingly poignant.

Marriage is Only a State of Mind by kolachness– A cute humor fic where Sorey argues passionately that marriage is what he wants to have with Mikleo despite not really understanding the concept.

Sweet Tooth by Everdarksilver – Cute stories about Mikleo and Sorey as told through food.

Head Over Heels by Angelic_Ascent– Sorey and Mikleo kiss to share water and it’s adorkable.

The Bone Zone by Haurvatat – Edna traumatizes Sorey and Mikleo with explicit instructions on how to bone, but they’re too curious not to try it.

Fusion Dance by Katseester – Rest of the part wants to find out why Sorey only wants to fuse with Mikleo.

BTW, this list doesn’t include any of mine, because I feel it would be an unfair evaluation.  But you can always visit my Ao3 page!

Had to disengage after 4 hours because I need to SLEEP and BE A RESPONSIBLE ADULT.

But impressions so far? It may look like an old school game, but surprisingly it doesn’t feel dated at all; The writing, even in its minimalistic text-based cutscene sequences, is effective in conjuring the action through your imagination. And the character models, although simple, do well enough as they are irt movement, combat and interactions with the beautifully rendered environments. The characters’ personalities (including the PC’s) shine in the descriptions of their gestures & expressions during conversation.

Even this early on though, disturbing imagery and themes appear by the time I reached the first major area; While not overtly gory, what I saw so far pretty much sets the mature tone of the game. Even with the grimness though, there are surprisingly poignant, bittersweet moments…I’m positive that my heart will get progressively broken up over these pixel people as I go further in, and I will love it like the emotional masochist that I am :)

So glad this game got to be made :)

Oh, my dorf? Settled on an Aristocratic Chanter from Aedyr whose family is ashamed of her, causing her to leave looking for a fresh start elsewhere. Unbecoming for their little lady to pursue a singing career, I suppose >_>

But she kicks so. much. ass. when she chants her offensive spells in between smashing people in the face with her mace :D
