Installment III in the Drabble Challenge
Spencer x Reader, Prompt #142 | takes place after Reid gets shot in the leg in “Nameless, Faceless” (S5 E1)
You heard a loud thump from the bedroom, followed a muffled curse. With a frustrated huff you rose from the couch and marched towards the source of the noise. You could barely resist the urge to roll your eyes at the sight that greeted you.
Spencer was on the floor, wrestling with his tangled sheets and pausing every so often with a pained expression on his face to reach for his injured leg. Barely even 2 weeks after getting shot by an unsub and he was already insisting he could get up without any assistance whatsoever.
“Seriously, Spencer? Again? I told you to tell me whenever you needed anything,” you scolded, making your way to help him get back into bed.
“And I told <you> that I don’t need a babysitter,” he said stubbornly as he batted your hands away. You rolled your eyes and looped your arms around him to heave him onto the bed despite his protests.
“For the hundredth time, I’m not your babysitter. I’m your girlfriend and I’m trying to help you, you idiot.” You brushed his hair away from his face just a little too roughly judging on the annoyed look Spencer shot you.
“I have an IQ of 187.” His face scrunched in pain as he attempted to shift back to lean against the headboard.
“But you’re still an idiot.” You punctuated your claim with a kiss to his furrowed brow. “You got shot in the leg, love. Hate to break it to you but that warrants a bit of help.” He let out a heavy sigh. You sat next to him, nudging his shoulder with yours. “What’s eating at ya, doc?”
Spencer stared down at his fidgety hands, a sure sign that something was bothering him.
“I just - I just don’t want to feel… like a burde-”
“Don’t you say burden, Spencer Reid,” you interjected. “You, while on a case to protect a man and his son, saved said man by taking a bullet for him. You’re far from a burden - you’re a hero.” His lips twisted up in that way they did whenever he was trying to hide an oncoming smile. You knew all he needed was a bit of affirmation. Spencer was one of the bravest people you knew and sometimes he just needed someone to remind him of that.
“You good?” you asked with another shoulder nudge. He gave you a small nod before pressing a kiss to your temple. “Now, what is it you were trying to do earlier?”
“I um… I needed to get to my bookshelves?” he admitted meekly.
“You risked ripping your stitches and irritating your wound for a book?”
“I finished the 5 you put on the side table… and the 3 tucked between the mattress and the bed frame.”
You shook your head disbelievingly. “Fine, how about this? I’ll grab a couple books and we can read them in bed together, but you have to promise not to try and get up without help until you’re properly healed. Deal?”
I would be that girlfriend to mess up his clothes and closet whenever we fight about something just to piss him off LOL can we have a blurb for that? ;)
Normally you were the lazier, messier person in this relationship. But since Niall had been home he hadn’t switched off of “tour mode”. He was still living out of his suitcase, leaving dishes everywhere, and generally acting like he had a team of people that came around and cleaned up after him. You understood it would take a few days for him to reset and get back into the swing of being at home. But this was getting ridiculous. It’d been almost 3 weeks.
This morning you’d gotten up and decided enough was enough. You’d cleaned the kitchen, did two loads of dishes, swept the floors, sorted the mail, and finally sat down to go through Niall’s huge suitcase to do laundry.
Can I request an angsty-fluffy scenario where Kai finds a new girl he really likes but doesn't want to trust her/date her because his previous gf cheated on him? <3
I’m sooooo sorry this has gone unanswered so long! I hope you enjoy it love xx
“You should go ahead and ask Y/N out if you like her so much.” Baekhyun commented as Kai began rattling off another reason why Y/N was such an amazing person. It was so painfully obvious he was head over heels.
Kai chuckled and shook his head, embarrassed. “She’s just a firend. Besides, you know I’m not into dating.”
Baekhyun rolled his eyes, but kept his mouth shut. He knew where Kai was coming from.
Kai was a naturally shy lover, but when he fell for one of the sexy back up dancers last year, he fell hard. In the end though, she turned out to be nothing but a monster who ripped his heart out, stomping on it as she left.
Kai was nearly driven mental and ever since he vowed never to let what was left of his broken heart feel the pain of ‘love’ ever again.
But without realizing it, he fell for you. No one could blame him though. You were good for him, healing his broken heart with every kind word and smile you sent his way. Everything was perfect between you two, except for the fact that Kai was terrified at how completely he had fallen for you.
Fed up with how long it was taking for you and Kai to be a thing, Baekhyun donned his hypothetical wings, determined to play Cupid.
“Hay, Y/N you left your jacket here the other day.” Baekhyun texted you.
“I did? I’ll come and get it if you don’t mind.” You texted back, not thinking much of it. You had been spending so much time at the dorm with the boys it wasn’t surprising that you’d left something.
“Sure. The door’s unlocked so just come in.” He replied.
Once you arrived at the dorm, you did just as Baekhyun said and walked in without knocking.
“Oh, hi, Y/N!” Baekhyun grinned from the couch. His words startled a half asleep Kai who was shirtless and only in sweats, his damp hair was all over the place.
Feeling your face heat up, you looked to Baekhyun. “Where’s my jacket?”
A sly smile escaped Baekhyun’s lips as he jumped off the couch and made his way to the door.”I lied! Kai just wanted to talk to you!”
Yours and Kai’s eyes widened as Baekhyun left the dorm. You then realized you were all alone with the guy you liked…and he was shirtless.
You heard Kai grumble under his breath as he sat up and motioned for you to take a seat.
“Sorry that idiot dragged you all the way down here. I’m sure you were busy.” He apologized.
You smiled, momentarily pausing your assesment of how good Kai looked when he was flustered. “No, it’s fine. I was actually gonna call you and see how you were. Baekhyun mentioned that you hurt yourself at practice?”
Kai smiled that adorable half smile, not looking at you. “That idiot says a lot of things.”
You smiled too. “So he was lying when he said you wanted to talk to me?”
Kai’s face heated and he placed his head in his hands, a sure sign that something was on his mind.
“Come on tell me.” You pushed, smiling at his shyness.
He shook his head, face growing even warmer.
“Tell me!” You begged.
“No!” He replied.
“Please? I promise I won’t tell anyone.” You said seriously.
Sighing, Kai weighed his options. If he came clean and admitted his feelings, he would alter their friendship forever, and if he explained why he didn’t want to fall in love, you were sure to reject him and even mock him. But it was killing him to keep his feelings to himself.
“Okay, fine. I like you, Y/N. I like you more than a friend.” He blurted out, shocking himself and you.
Once you’d processed what he had said, you smiled. “I…like you too…”
He looked at you, slightly stunned by your confession. Weren’t you supposed to reject his feelings?
“I…can’t date you though.” He mumbled, deciding to air his dirty laundry out for you to see.
“Why?” You questioned. “Everyone already thinks we’re secretly dating.”
He sighed and looked back at the TV. “I’m afraid. The last time I fell in love, it nearly killed me. I can’t take that again. I won’t let myself.”
You remained silent.
“See? I’m stupid and you deserve someone who actaully has a whole heart to give you.”
Your own heart broke at his confession.
Grabbing his hand, you stared at him, willing him to look at you. “You’re not stupid, Kai. And I don’t care how long I have to wait for you to let yourself love again, I’ll be here. I’ll always be here. We can take it as slow as you want.”
He looked at you like a child who had just been given hope. “Really?”
You nodded. “Really.”
A shy smile graced his lips as he gently squeezed your hand. “You’re the best, Y/N.”

That was where Soul and Maka had decided to spend their vacation after a rough year of fighting kishins, attending witches council meetings, going to required Deathscythe parties and conventions, supervising NOT students, and demonstrating for different classes. It wasn’t their first choice for a destination when they were discussing the various places they could go to for their break. In actuality, it had all been because Patti suggested the vacation spot to them while they were have lunch with their friends. Considering neither Maka nor Soul had ever visited the well known location, they both agreed that that was where they were going to spend their week long break from work and responsibilities.
The months she spent planning the excursion with their travel agent helped to build her anticipation for the trip itself as they went through various levels of preparing. The woman Maka had hired told her everything she needed to know for a first timer: where the best places to eat were, the rides that were a must for anyone going to Disney World, and the different events that each park held. Since they were going a week before the end of the year, there were so many things to do and see, and as their departure grew closer, Maka found herself staying up just so she could watch different Disney movies. Maybe she was being a little ridiculous, but she didn’t care.
For the first time ever she was going to Disney World, and she couldn’t be more excited about it! With her father being a popular deathscythe when she was growing up, vacations were hard to come by and when they occurred, it was seldom a place that was more than two states over from Nevada. Then when her parents divorced, having any time to relax was hard to come by that trips had become obsolete. The younger side of herself that still dwelled within her was craving the time off more than anything especially when it dealt with a place she had never been to. She had only ever seen Disney World on television and read about it on various blogs; she never did have the chance to really experience it.
However, Maka soon came to realize that between her and Soul, she was the only one really excited.
