Warm Cinnamon Roll Review

Price: $4.19

Location: Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom

This ginormous cinnamon roll is topped with vanilla icing as well as a maple glaze. The addition of the glaze really takes this over the top, adding even more sweetness to this sugary mountain of a pastry. The roll itself was soft, with heavenly cinnamon sugar swirled throughout. The one issue I had with this treat was that it is clearly called a “warm cinnamon roll” on the menu, yet it was served at room temperature. Although it was still super yummy and filling, it would have been much more satisfying if it was warm – as advertised!

Buttermilk crumb cake (aka buttermilk coffee cake)! Apologies for camera quality! Not much by way of presentation but super easy to make and the perfect cake for a beginner baker to try out. The Ramadhan crowd at my local mosque broke fast with dates and a whole plate of cake each; although I made seven batches, it wasn’t enough by half when it turned out to be a hit!

Tip: I used self-raising flour in place of the all-purpose + baking powder + baking soda combo. Was advised to use a little more than the stated measurement so it rises properly! (As you can see, mine didn’t rise very nicely, but it’s still super yummy!)

Recipe for Rose Sugar

Need to sweeten a cup of tea, or cast a glamor spell? Mix a fragrant rose (make sure it hasn’t been sprayed with anything while growing) and white sugar in a mason jar and leave it for a day or two. I put quartz and carnelian on top of the mason jar for a little bit of extra help, but it’s not necessary.

Super simple, and super yummy mixed in with a cup of black tea and a little bit of milk.

This is what I made this evening. It is super delicious!  Almond Pound Cake

Hey guys! I stumbled across this today while doing some research at work, and I thought you’d all appreciate it.

Ever heard of Green Blender? I hadn’t until today, but it’s a really cool service. You subscribe, they send you 5 new smoothie recipes and all of the required ingredients for them each week (10 smoothies total), and you get awesome, healthy smoothies without even having to think about it! If you have a blender, they have the rest.

The service is $49 a week, which is about as much as I spend on all my food for two weeks, so I can’t afford to do it at the moment. If any of you guys are in the financial position to try this out, you should! If you’re not, you should do what I’m planning on doing and check their site for recipe ideas (purple sage mango? pomegranate grapefruit? sign me up).

If any of you have tried this. let me know! I’d love to hear about it.
