sunrise through mist

I haven’t slept a wink in 29 hours, I left my house at 2 a.m., I have only a few dollars left in my pocket to feed myself for the next 4 days, I spent an hour with a Mennonite man who carried his daughter with beautiful eyes and cerebral palsy in his arms to Mexico where they were getting help for their daughter who has beautiful eyes and cerebral palsy through stem cell research because no one will do it in the States, our train drove through floodwaters so high that we were partially submerged underwater, I watched the sunrise through the mist of a Missouri drizzle, I ate breakfast with two complete strangers, and I still have 12 hours to go until I reach my destination. I asked for an adventure, and I’m getting one. Everyone should go cross-country by train at least once in their life.
