such adorable accents

His accent 🙈

Nico’s originally from Italy, so I can imagine him having the accent still. Even though he was in the casino for a while, he was still around Bianca a lot, and she would *certainly* have an accent. That means there’s a chance that Nico would retain at least a part of his.

Of course, it’s watered down thanks to living in America for so long. But that said, I believe that it’s there in the rare moments he’s excited and off guard. He’ll start speaking with an adorable Italian accent, his eyes sparkling with energy that he hasn’t had in years. He’ll laugh and not even notice that people would stare.

Or, even better, he’d slip into Italian without even noticing. He’d be in a conversation with someone and get super excited. Then, in the middle of the conversation, would switch languages. He’d be smiling and continue with whatever he was saying, but it would be in Italian. The other person, in response, would either look very confused causing Nico to notice his mistake and grow quiet and embarrassed therefore ruining the moment, or would go along with it.

Imagine:

Will sat under the shade of a tree with Nico. It was a nice, sunny day. There was a breeze, so it was chillier than Will preferred it, but it didn’t seem to bother Nico thanks to his jacket. Will loved being outside, and Nico loved the shadows, so the shade of a tree on a sunny day was the perfect scenario for both boys.

They weren’t doing much at the moment, just sitting in silence and enjoying each other’s company. Nico wasn’t one for talking, but with his hand entwined with Will’s, there was no doubt in the blonde’s mind that the other boy cared.

“Hobbies.” Nico said, seemingly out of the blue.

If Will had been anybody else, he would have thought Nico’s comment was of no value; was something random that could be brushed off. But Will knew better than that. The comment was just part of the game that him and Nico played. Ever since the incident that had brought them together [A/N: see the first chapter of my new Solangelo fic], Nico had actually put somewhat of an effort into who he was.

Mysteriously, he still couldn’t answer the three questions that Will had asked in the beginning.

Will chuckled lightly, squeezing his boyfriend’s hand. “Hobbies… reading, archery, and soccer.”

“Soccer?” Nico questioned, turning his head to look at Will. “You play a sport?”

“Used to.” Will explained to him. “Since becoming a year-rounder here at camp, I haven’t played at all. I kind of miss it.”

Will caught a small glint of curiosity in Nico’s eye, as if he were about to ask another question. He opened his mouth, but it was gone as soon as it came, the question seemingly dying in his throat. He closed his mouth as calmly and as stoically as everything he did.

“Now it’s your turn, Nico.” Will told him expectantly. “Let me here about what you do in your free-time.”

Nico sighed heavily. The stony expression on his face looked strained, as if he were debating a life or death decision. Even though he knew that couldn’t be the case, it made Will’s heart beat just a little quicker with worry.

Nico looked down at the grass, picking at it with his free hand. “I used to be really into Mythomagic.”

“Mythomagic…” Will repeated. That name rung a bell in his mind, but he was having trouble placing where he had heard it. When it struck him, he smiled. “Mythomagic. Isn’t that Trading Card Game? Sort of like Magic: The Gathering?”

“And like Pokémon.” Nico said, sounding tired. “I’ve heard it all, and yes - it is a TCG.”

Will laughed at Nico. “So your a secret dork, huh? You into video games and anime too?”

Nico looked back at the ground again. “Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. Your point is?”

Will shrugged. “I don’t know, but I adore this new secret part of you.”

He meant to be endearing, but Nico looked just as upset and embarrassed as he always did when Will started to pry. Why Nico had let Will get anything out of him if it made him feel so bad, the blonde medic would never know. But he *did* know that he had to make Nico feel better, even though he had been the one to start the conversation about hobbies.

“Tell me more about it.” Will told him. Nico looked up at him, confused. “Mythomagic, that is. I know of it, but I don’t know much about it. Could you please explain it to me?”

Nico obliged. He tentatively began to explain the rules of the game. Will followed along, although it started getting a bit complicated. Nico kept looking up at him, then back at the ground as he talked. He seemed almost frightened to be discussing it.

Then, something amazing happened.

When he was done explaining the rules, he branched off. His voice was a couple pitches higher and he let go off Will’s hand. Normally, that would have been a bad sign. Nico receding back into himself was a silent warning sign his boyfriend would give him. But this time, he released Will’s hand to be able to talk with his hands.

His arms were flying just as fast as his words. Will had never heard Nico say something that hadn’t been thought through. This was a new sight. There was a sparkle in Nico’s eye that Will had never seen there before. A smile graced the boy’s face, and his voice reverberated with energy.

He began recounting stories and experiences of the game, laughing as he did so. Will had never heard anything as carefree and beautiful as Nico’s laugh. The pale boy talked about the game like Nico never talked about anything: with child-like excitement. It was free, and it was fun.

And as he spoke, Will heard Nico’s voice take on a slight change. Slowly but surely, an Italian accent overtook his words. It was adorable and innocent, the latter having never been a word to use with Nico. He looked at home, with the sunny day and Italian accent, as if the casino had never took home from him.

And then he completely lost Will. Nico’s words came out completely in Italian, and the boy didn’t even seem to notice. He just kept talking as if he were still speaking basic English. His eyes sparkled even more when he changed languages. Now, Nico seemed truly at home. He seemed truly comfortable; he looked comfortable in a way that Will knew he would never be able to make him.

Even though Will had no idea what Nico was saying, he didn’t interrupt. He simply enjoyed seeing his boyfriend so uncharacteristically happy. He let Nico have his moment of happiness and freedom. He seemed to be enjoying himself so much, Will wouldn’t dare interrupt him to break it to him. He was too cute and too happy.

Will was pretty sure he loved Nico even more after that afternoon.

BTS Reacts - You’re Insecure About Your Accent

Park Jimin: Jimin can’t believe you’re saying this for the millionth time. He’s not tired with your lack of self-confidence in the way you speak, but he really wishes you could take more pride in it. He’s said it many times, and he’ll say it again: you underestimate how many people admire the way the way in which your voice peaks at certain words, how it mellows when a sentence ends. He stares at you when you tell him once more about your insecurities, as if trying to send a message right to your heart - that you have nothing to be ashamed of. He’s backed up by two rays of sunshine - Hoseok & Taehyung - who sign a heart to you (they adore your accent) as Jimin says:

“Your fanboys here seem to think otherwise about your accent, you know, including me.”

Jung Hoseok: Hobi really likes listening to you speak, but he knows he can’t deter you feeling embarrassed about your accent, especially since it’s a problem that stems from being insecure - he can flatter you all he likes, but he knows you’ll start feeling the same way soon enough. Instead, he’ll do what he can to distract you by making you laugh. When you’re at Bighit, you stay relatively quiet because you’re shy, but when you do talk, he makes sure he has an award they’ve won, ready at hand, to be picked up. He fakes his tears, howling on about how your authentic you sound. He’ll do this until you can understand: it’s okay to want to hide it, but the bottom line is that you shouldn’t feel forced to all the time.

“BEST ACCENT OF THE YEAR! OSCAR-WORTHY PERFORMANCE, OH MY GOD!”

Kim Seokjin: Jin is supportive, so he’ll probably want to help in any way he can. His mature mind knows that you’re old enough to make your own decisions, so if you feel like hiding your accent would make you more confident, he’d back you up, but he always makes sure that you know that the way you enunciate your words isn’t a problem with him. He would think that you’re silly for fussing over something so small, but he knows it matters to you, so he doesn’t give you much opinion on the subject. While he may show a slight sign of disapproval, somewhere deep inside, he’s kind of glad you want to stow it. He’s always worried how your accent might draw attention that you don’t want, particularly because you’re nervous about it.

“I guess it’s good you want to hide it - I’ll help teach you how to pronounce certain words better.”

Jeon Jungkook: A member that probably wouldn’t pay any mind to how self-conscious you were when it related to your accent. He would know and try to sympathize, of course - but he just wouldn’t hold back punches just because you were unconfident about your intonations. He’d treat you just like anyone else he’d make fun of, and that in itself is a testament to what he thinks about the way you speak. He doesn’t feel like it should set you apart from anyone else, and if they did ever poke fun at you for it, it wouldn’t be because you sounded distasteful - he actually thinks quite the opposite. You’re talking to Park Jimin about plans to hang out with the maknae line later in the day, when Jungkook interrupts upon hearing your pronunciations:

“What was that? Can you say that again for me to hear?”
( You elbow him in his stomach, and Jimin glares at the maknae. )
“But it’s funny!”

Kim Taehyung: Tae is no stranger to masking his accent (like his other fellow members from Busan & Daegu), but he’s definitely much more rehearsed in it because he’s trying to become an aspiring actor. When he hears you trying to do the same, he can’t help but laugh - your Seoul dialect isn’t exactly on point just yet. He asks why you’re trying to change the way you speak, and you tell him it’s because you’re hesitant to talk with your existing accent. Tae thinks you’re cute for being so embarrassed. The two of you are talking a walk by a riverside in the cold; he turns to you and places his hand on your cheek when he notices a fleck of snow close to the edge of your lips, wiping away at it while he reassures you.

“Yah, stop being so ridiculous. No one’s judging you; if anything, it’s unique - but if you really want, I can show you a few tricks to having a Seoul accent.”

Kim Namjoon: After a lively dinner with the boys, you and Namjoon walk behind the group. He starts to talk to you, and you reply in short, concise phrases. After a while of conversing, he can’t help but feel like you’re holding back from chatting freely with him, which results in him asking if you’re uncomfortable being in his company. You shake your head, confessing that you’re self-conscious about the way you articulate your words. This surprises him, so knowing now that you feel held back because of your accent, he’s set on getting you out of your shell. He would want you to be able to be yourself around Bangtan, especially him. He’s not usually one to be this forward, but he feels you should probably hear the truth behind his thoughts:

“You really feel that way? Well… I personally think your accent is kind of hot.”

Min Yoongi: You’re sitting wordlessly in Bangtan’s dressing room, before the shooting of one of their music videos. Hoseok and Yoongi are talking amongst themselves, and the Daegu boy occasionally throws suspicious glances your way, attempting to be casual by smiling when you meet gazes. You’re not sure if he’s asking you over, so you make your way to them just in case. You don’t say much, timid because of your accent - but the both of them still wait for you to say something, anything. Yoongi bites his lip in expectation, eyeing your own supple lips, as if unable to wait any longer for you to talk.  He’s always enjoyed having you around, even though he tries not to show it too much; he’s shy to admit your accent intrigues him.

“We were just talking about you, actually - Yoongi-hyung said that he thinks your accent is really -”
( Yoongi cuts him off. )
Yah, Hoseok!”

I hope you like this react, anon! I have an accent too, but I’ve learned to cover it pretty well, so whenever I speak English, I sound relatively (?) American. However, when I’m with my fellow friends from home, I don’t restrain myself from switching back to my regular accent - but I could care less, because I’m enjoying talking in my native dialect so much! So, what you’re feeling is completely natural, but don’t worry too much about it, okay? <3

and when i see dumb english speakers make fun of mads´ adorable accent idk if i should get mad or feel sorry for them bc here we have a man that fluently speaks 3 languages and can speak a bit of two more languages and those english speakers that DARE to make fun of his accent can barely speak and write in ENGLISH let alone learn a new language lmfao petty a**holes

So last night I met cowbell ghoul and he signed my wristband lmao. He was so cute and funny and his accent..omg adorable. He said he got a lot of fan art in his inbox really fast after his lil debut. And he was shocked that people instantly knew it was him. 😂 (like those legs didn’t give it away)
He showed us one drawing someone sent him and he said “This one actually looks like me. See! Haha I’m gonna have to frame this and put it up.” Aww he was so energetic and excited about the fans.
It was so funny when he told us about how he ended up being the cowbell ghoul because he said “Well I’m always with them you know I was a sister of sin that time?? Yeah I just had the outfit on one day and was joking around and I thought hey I need an instrument..*mimics banging a cowbell* COWBELL yeah haha! Then everyone was like YES but I didn’t have one.. So I went out all over Lubbock looking and ya know what?? *pauses* I couldn’t find one! *laughs hysterically*”
It was just the way he said it I was like omfg. 😂
Then someone asked him about the outfit he wears like who it belonged to and he said “Oh I don’t know. I have a little bit from everyone. Just the extra pieces laying around. And ya know what? They can really hold a smell!” Lmao he was cracking jokes left n right like what even are you?!? 😂💘 I love him.
He said Earth helped him make his symbol but he added his own flair to it with the cross. Lol he said he’s a “really bad drawer” too.
I think I talked to him longer than I did Papa bc everyone kinda swarmed him of course. But it was so great! I’m glad they came out to see us. I was sad I didn’t get to hug Aether tho 😢

I don’t know if y'all have considered how cute a Patater lovekid would be but…please consider how cute a Patater lovekid would be.

Droopy brown eyes, wild blonde hair with random cowlicks that her dads can’t tame no matter what they do. Freckles everywhere, but especially on her nose just like her Daddy’s, and all over her long gangly arms perfect for hugging just like her Papa’s. Spontaneously switching between Russian and English in her little accent?? She adores all animals and Kit is her best friend, she takes her everywhere and even somehow manages to convince Kit to wear dresses. She loves glitter, she puts it on everything. She even bedazzles both of her miniature versions of her dads’ jerseys, and wears them to every game.
