I had a very interesting discussion about theater and film the other day. My parents and I were talking about Little Shop of Horrors and, specifically, about the ending of the musical versus the ending of the (1986) movie. In the musical, the story ends with the main characters getting eaten by the plant and everybody dying. The movie was originally going to end the same way, but audience reactions were so negative that they were forced to shoot a happy ending where the plant is destroyed and the main characters survive. Frank Oz, who directed the movie, later said something I think is very interesting:

I learned a lesson: in a stage play, you kill the leads and they come out for a bow — in a movie, they don’t come out for a bow, they’re dead. They’re gone and so the audience lost the people they loved, as opposed to the theater audience where they knew the two people who played Audrey and Seymour were still alive. They loved those people, and they hated us for it.

That’s a real gem of a thought in and of itself, a really interesting consequence of the fact that theater is alive in a way that film isn’t. A stage play always ends with a tangible reminder that it’s all just fiction, just a performance, and this serves to gently return the audience to the real world. Movies don’t have that, which really changes the way you’re affected by the story’s conclusion. Neat!

But here’s what’s really cool: I asked my dad (who is a dramaturge) what he had to say about it, and he pointed out that there is actually an equivalent technique in film: the blooper reel. When a movie plays bloopers while the credits are rolling, it’s accomplishing the exact same thing: it reminds you that the characters are actually just played by actors, who are alive and well and probably having a lot of fun, even if the fictional characters suffered. How cool is that!?

Now I’m really fascinated by the possibility of using bloopers to lessen the impact of a tragic ending in a tragicomedy…

Utopias

While we would live separated into Sun signs, everyone is welcome to come and go, to pass by, to be welcomed, to stay over, to visit. If I’m going to dream, I’m going to dream that life would be peaceful at least, joyful at most.

Aries: Rocky and volcanic, a heaviness to the air. Everyone moves with urgency, with energy, with inspiration. There are dragons, friendly but fierce, creatures straight from the pages of fantasy novels. Competition is encouraged, but so is being protective, the merging of strength with something warm.

Taurus: Green, forests, streams, flowers, trees that seem to communicate and break away, that move should you look away for too long. People live in cottages, sweet smelling cakes filling the air in the days, amber and musk at night. Everyone who passes through is well fed and looked after. Leisure is considered a virtue here.

Gemini: Bright and colourful paths to follow, interweaving routes that lead to places undiscovered. The weather changes as they do. Shows are put on, laughter and giggles the soundtrack, and no day is the same. Everyone greets those that pass through, a conversation the key to affection. Libraries fill rooms Beauty and the beast style.

Cancer: Lagoons, beaches, caves to hide out in, pretty with glistening gems and rocks, places to reflect, to see the water move where the mermaids swim. There is time out for every emotion, every sensation to be realised, to be validated, and sitting and dreaming is the perfect way to pass time. Loved ones are kept close. There is power to the sound of the ocean.

Leo: Glamorous and built up, high buildings and fashionable aesthetics, modern, like a city but with quiet corners. Shows and films flash all day, free entry of course, and comfort and luxury is abundant. No one is considered too loud or enthusiastic, the more the merrier, shame is forbidden. If you are quiet enough however you can hear the bellowing lions roar in the distance, protective.

Virgo: Modest towns, green, but practical, everything you need at least once over is accessible. Little critters hop around. People greet each other with a slight nod of the head, a smile, then on their way to learn, to lend a hand, yet at the end of the day they meet each other, even if not much is said. At night, there is quiet to fall into fantasy, to create, to show a touch of genius.

Libra: Open spaces and airy, mountainous, a place to breathe, to balance, to think. The wind makes their hair dance. Houses seem balanced on the edges, views to envy. There are rooms like studios, a place for controlled messiness, for the creativity of Venus to express, yet the rest of the housing is immaculately designed. Most live in pairs, yet the wider community is also cherished.

Scorpio: Beautiful Gothic designs, castles and ruins, yet light seems to dance. Privacy is respected, but so is connection, and inauthenticity sticks out like a sore thumb here. There are creatures that you cannot quite tell if they are ugly or cute, a duality. Devotion and loyalty are held up as virtues. There is a dark humour here, but also great wisdom.

Sagittarius: Green and open, places to run and tumble, but also places to sit and ponder. A natural prettiness, but not heavily designed, natural, placed by the hands of something higher. Sport and competition is encouraged though not valued more than the mental and spiritual talents that their inhabitants gift to the world. There is a warmth in the air, a free spiritedness, a place to visit for anyone that feels blue.

Capricorn: Built up buildings, a big city, classy and simplistic design. Everyone progresses here, advances, creates personal ambitions along with shared ones. Hard work is a virtue, but so is being supportive and stable, extending a hand to those that need advice and solid method. Everyone walks with an air if dignity, but followed closely by a sarcastic grin and shining smile should someone break the poised pace.

Aquarius: A place of technology, pointing to the future, like a cross between a built up city and a science lab. If cars will one day fly, here will be the place to have them first. Can be overwhelming on a first visit, not knowing how anything works, but the fascination is more than enough compensation. The people here are odd and eccentric, but also speak with such interest and offbeat passion that it is infectious.

Pisces: Misty, iridescent, reflective, one colour seems to blend into another, can be confusing for the senses upon first visiting, but there is a point where it becomes easier to acclimatise. The floor doesn’t feel solid, like you could fall right through, but if you concentrate hard enough, you see the streams pass through, pretty rainbow lights dancing on the water. Everyone walks with a sleepiness here, takes time to gather how they feel.

Atomic Blonde (and why I’m a Sapphic who adored it)

Okay, first off…WOW! What a ride that film was! After having a full 24hrs  to really digest this film, I can honestly say that this film really blew my  expectations, in so many different ways. Since there seems to be so much  discourse over this film, I thought I would post a POSITIVE list of all the  reasons why this film is as important and special to me as it is, even with  That Scene. As Lorraine Broughton would say, “ Shall We?”

Okay first off, the obvious…

  • AESTHETIC MUCH!?
  • 80′s soundtrack with phenomenal remixes.
  • NEON FOR DAYS!!
  • Charlize Theron, playing a truly Bad-Ass Bisexual MI6 Agent while still looking sexy as Hell!
  • The action was some of the best I have ever witnessed!
  • The general setting of this film, Communist Berlin, gives a remarkable window into just what the Cold War in its later stages entailed. The Cold War was perhaps one of the most deceitful wars in history, and when you figure in just how sensitive the situation was, you realize that Every. Move. Counts.

Lorraine Broughton

  • She owns my ass.
  • Again, we have an Openly-Bisexual Female Lead, who’s only main love interest is another woman!
  • Charlize Theron not only did 98% of all her own stunts, but she sustained injuries because of it.
  • I loved her characterization, it was one of the highlights of this film. We often forget that movies like this are hardly ever realistic, but in this film the opening scene is of Lorraine, MI6′s Top Agent, wearily trying to attend to her beaten body. She is barely alive, and as the film goes on we see just how much of a toll her physical and emotional well-being takes due to the nature of her job. As the film progresses we see her grow more cold and disconnected to the point where she is practically numb to those around her (her interrogation, mostly).
  • She wins all her fights, but not without repercussions. Her body takes. A. Beating. And unlike most films her wounds don’t just magically disappear or just “get better”. No, they are there for weeks, in all their ugliness, to display just how vulnerable as a person she is, whilst also reminding those who see her how tough and strong she has to be just to merely survive.

Lorraine and Delphine

  • Okay, first off…OMG THESE TWO!
  • Sofia Boutella was adorable as Delphine, and the way her innocence and naive-ness abolutely melted Lorraine was so cute!
  • The way Lorraine looked at Delphine with such intrigue, and the way Delphine looked at Lorraine with such awe.
  • The whole “Harold, they’re Lesbians”-like scenario with the dude at the bar (even tho Lorraine is Bi).
  • Again, we get another glimpse into Lorraine’s characterization here, which is basically she gets distracted by pretty girls we see that, even though Lorraine is still skeptical of Delphine at first, she very easily falls for her, a softness that we up until that point had yet to see in her.
  • Delphine’s slight hesitance when she gives Lorraine that adorably soft kiss and Lorraine’s shyness in returning it!
  • The way we see Lorraine follow Delphine into a more private place and being so dazed and transfixed by this tiny French Girl is mesmerizing and makes my heart skip a beat!
  • OMG their wicked make-out session and the slamming against the wall and the WHOLE SCENE THAT FOLLOWS I COULD NOT BREATH!
  • “…So you made contact with the French Operative?” “Obviously”
  • Lorraine in nothing but a sweater looking over Delphine as she sleeps-watching, wondering, worrying about what will happen to her.
  • THEY GOT TOGETHER MORE THAN ONCE!
  • AFTER-SEX SNUGGLES!
  • Honestly, them snuggling was one of the most tender moments in the whole film. For once it feels as though Lorraine is being genuine with Delphine, which she picks up on.
  • Lorraine stroking Delphine’s hair while Delphine nudges her head in Lorraine’s neck is so precious. The way Lorraine is so gentle with her and laughs and smiles at her makes my heart melt so much! She cares so much for this one woman she just met and it is so beautiful!
  • Tiny Soft Nose Kisses!
  • The fact their relationship, no matter how brief, is actually a small subplot means so much because it really feels like this was for us Sapphics, despite what happens later.

That Scene among other things

  • Oh boy, here we go. In my opinion, I did not see this as partaking in the horrid “Kill Your Gays” trope.
  • We saw it coming in the trailer you guys, and I was fully prepared for this scenario.
  • She was a naive, inexperienced spy who got too close to Lorraine, and suffered the ultimate price for it. This happened to all of Lorraine’s lovers (although I honestly think she was just using her first one for information, where as she truly cared for Delphine).
  • Delphine Fought. Back. Hard! And she did a damn good job at keeping up. But unfortunately she did not have the skill nor the experience to win that battle. She is not Lorraine, who barely came out the mission alive!
  • This is a spy film about the Cold War, there were going to be many, many casualties. Lorraine (Another Queer) was the only one to make it out alive.
  • When Lorraine found Delphine, I truly felt for her then. This is the first time we see her fully shut down as she Empathetically mourns her girlfriend (which we hardly get to see in general, the LGBT Hero mourning the death of their lover).
  • At this point, after all that she has gone through (the beatings, the betrayals, the loss of intelligence, etc) this is the one thing that finally breaks her, and LORRAINE. IS. FUCKING. DONE.
  • She is done with everything around her, and we see this as she goes from on-the-ground vulnerable to STONE. COLD. NOTHING. And she goes out for blood, and Damn-It does she get it! She shows no mercy for Delphine’s killer, and it is obvious that this is revenge in its most raw form.
  • In the end this is a story about a spy in the Cold War, and in a genre like this things are going to be very brutal. We see this brutality play out on Lorraine, and how it affects her and all of those involved. She made it out with her life, and that was her reward.
  • So Delphine’s death, to me, was the final Plot Point to move us into the final act, as it was portrayed as the one act of Evil that Crossed That Line, and to further the Characterization of Lorraine.
  • I could go one about the phenomenal action sequences, because I have never witnessed such raw and realistic fighting in an action movie, and to have a Female Bisexual as the lead taking as much as she dishes out was both horrifying yet empowering!

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if you think this film will seriously trigger you, then by all means please take care of your well-being, because that is ultimately the most important thing.

Was I sad that Delphine died? Yes, of course! Did I see it as strictly because she was gay? No, I did not. Do I see this as good representation? Ultimately, yes because I still felt incredibly valid as a Bisexual in more ways than one with this film, and the last time I felt this good about myself was when I first saw Carol (2015) dir. Todd Haynes in theaters (which nothing will ever top that film).

But for everyone else, please GO SEE THIS FILM. For the one negative we must also see all it’s Astonishing Positives this film has, and for it to get the attention and praise that it has is such a big deal for all of us, because if we show our support for this truly Rare Gem then they will make a sequel, and other films like it! Only then can we move forward!

UPDATE: So I just saw Atomic Blonde today for the second time in one week, and upon my second viewing I’ve come to realize just how much I love this film, and why it beat out my expectations originally! And it mainly falls back to what I discussed earlier, about Lorraine and Delphine’s romance and Lorraine herself, for instance:

  • Again, I love Lorraine’s characterization! Being more aware of the story my second time-round, I got to focus more on Lorraine herself, and I think I underestimated just how cold and numb and positively DONE she is by the “end” of her mission (again, in reference to her interrogation).
  • The physical and emotional toll on her and her body really is just as prominent as I remember, and my goodness I cannot recall another film where I actually left the theatre physically exhausted by what I just watched. Everything she’s endured sort of rubs off on you, and if that isn’t the most engrossing experience a character can portray, than I do not know what is.
  • Delphine and Lorraine, my god I love their relationship! It is the only relationship in the whole film solely built on attraction and Mutual Trust, so much so where they would rather protect each other over their mission.
  • In fact, going in this movie the first time all I was expecting between them was the “One Night Stand” that was so heavily portrayed in the trailers-which I would of been happy with-and, (just like in the trailers) I prepared myself for Delphine’s demise soon after-But we had an entire subplot dedicated to their relationship, right up to the very end!
  • Because of this Lorraine’s and Delphine’s romance felt genuine, filled with love and tenderness and worry and drive to protect each other-and that really is beautiful representation.
  • Which, I believe, is why Lorraine truly shuts down when it all goes south, and why we see the Lorraine we do in her interrogation. SHE IS COLD. SHE IS BEATEN. AND SHE IS TIRED.
  • In the end, I do think she cared more for Delphine than past lovers, which is why she seems so utterly broken when we first see her. She went back to Delphine even after her superiors threatened to end her, and she lied about Delphine to protect her from them, even though she was gone.

Anyway, as you can see this film really did a number on me, and I am absolutely fine with that! I apologize for making my crazy long post even longer, but there were things I still wanted to get off my chest, because this really is a Dream Film-a Queer, Female Lead 80′s Spy Film actually exists, and I think Atomic Blonde really hit it out of the park-and has ruined all other action films for me here-on out!

J2 VanCon 2017 Gold Panel

*Reminder: Always watch convention panel videos (if possible) for full context/details.

  • The boys are giggly.
  • J2 are still so excited about what happened at SDCC.
  • They haven’t been formally invited back yet for s14, so keep on it fandom!
  • Jared urges fans to push for s14 because they haven’t gotten an official sign off yet.
  • Jensen says his beer is phenomenal.
  • Someone asks about where they can get Jensen’s beer. Jared jokes about how Jensen could leave one of his beer’s somewhere, tweet about it, and let it become Hunger Games/a scavenger hunt for whoever finds it first. Jensen says it’s too bad it’s the last year of GISHWHES. Jared: That would be amazing! (If it had been one of the items lol).
  • Jensen confirms that within the next couple of months his beer will be available at Jared’s bar (x)
  • Jensen will make an appearance in “The Buddy Games” that is being directed by Josh Duhamel. It’s a cameo: one scene and one day filming.
  • Jared loves when the show has hidden gems for the fans. Like when Roy and Walt showed up last season.
  • Jared talking about sets, time availability, etc.
  • Jensen says the longest scene filmed without shenanigans was in Baby, when Sam and Dean were laying down talking about their lives. It was 5 pages of dialogue.
  • The boys joke about how they came back to set after the summer and struggled a bit to get back into their old wardrobe lol aka their pants didn’t fit.
  • Asked about the Wayward Sisters’ legacy. Jared: Thank God. He says that he understands SPN hinges on Sam and Dean, and to a lesser degree, Misha and Baby, but he’s a fan of whatever fleshes out other parts of the world. Jensen is proud of the girls. He is excited to go down that road and see where it leads.
  • The boys are excited about Wayward Sisters and they say “we love these characters.”
  • Jared: Love song to Gen, “Just Breathe” by Pearl Jam.
  • Jensen: Love song to Danneel, “If I Had Me a Million” by Pat Green.
  • Jared’s love song for Jensen is “Fruit Salad” by The Wiggles (a children’s music group lol) Jared to Jensen, rubbing his arm: “Yummy, yummy.” Jared played part of the song for the crowd. (x)
  • At one point Jared asks how the concert was last night and brought up Jensen at the SNS.

#44: Clawed Frollo and Quasimeowdo, from the Hunchcat of Notre Dame by Victor Mewgo

I also got a request for Frollo but I accidentally deleted it before screenshotting it

While Disney’s Clawed Frollo is pretty much just a monster from the beginning, book Frollo *started* as an okay cat. Like:  In the beginning of the Disney film, Frollo kills Quasimeowdo’s mother and almost murders baby kitten Quasimeowdo. In the book, Quasimeowdo’s mother abandons him. Ordinary Parisian citizens want to kill orphan baby Quasimeowdo because he’s ugly, and Frollo is the only one who takes pity on him–saving his life and adopting him. And while we’re at it: book Quasimeowdo isn’t as “cute” as film-Quasimeowdo. He’s not evil, but being treated like a monster has understandably made him rough around the edges. So in the book the two’s stories are equal and opposite: Quasimeowdo grows from the “monster” everyone wants dead to the compassionate savior of Esmewralda; Clawed Frollo changes from an upstanding priest capable of pity to a monster who laughs as Esmewralda hangs (she dies in the book.) One proves his humanity, the other loses his humanity.

I mean neither of them really had humanity, because they weren’t humans they were cats, but that wasn’t the point you see

Hobbit/LotR Ask Meme: Theflightytemptress, Cuddlyaxe and Anonymous asked 10. Favourite weapon?

“Forged long ago in the lost Elf kingdom of Gondolin, Orcrist, the ‘goblin cleaver’, was a legendary blade, well known to the wise of Middle-earth and infamous among their enemies."

"Having disappeared for centuries, the sword would reappear in, of all places, a Troll hoard, where, among the detritus and ruin, it catches the eye of Thorin Oakenshield. To the Dwarf, well versed in the crafting of fine weapons, it is a sword of peerless craft, but it is Elrond, lord and lore-master of Rivendell, who is able to name the blade and tell Thorin of its prestigious lineage."

"No finer sword could a king of any race wish for."

Sibling Rivalry

i randomly got the idea of making up a brother for harry and gemma and decided i should write it and post it now since it’s harry’s birthday, i hope you enjoy x

“You ready?” Harry asked, loading the last suitcase into the back of his range rover.

“Yeah,” I nodded as I watched him close the trunk.

“Alright, let’s go.” He smiled, gesturing to the car.

Harry’s birthday was tomorrow and he and I were going to spend it with his family. It had been a while since we both had seen them, and we were all excited. Gemma even picked on Harry and said she was looking forward to seeing me more than she was to see him. Harry put his stuff in the car and then came to pick me up, and now we embarked on our about three and a half hour journey. We stopped to get some lunch, then went on our way.

After jamming to music and playing eye spy for a bit, which was Harry’s idea, we finally arrived at Anne and Robin’s house. We got out of the car and got our stuff, but before we could walk to the front door, Gemma bolted out if the house and hugged me tightly.

“I’ve missed you so much, (y/n). I’m so happy you’re here!” Gemma squealed.

Harry crossed his arms. “Glad to know you really do prefer my friends over me.”

Gemma rolled her eyes as she let go of me and hugged her brother. “I missed you too Harry, you know that.”

Gemma helped us bring in our stuff, Anne grinning at us as we walked in.

“Oh my goodness, (y/n), you just get more gorgeous by the day.” Anne said as she hugged me.

“I could say the same to you,” I complimented her as I hugged her back.

“Even Mum likes her more than me.” Harry all but whined.

Anne chuckled, walking over to Harry and hugging him. “Now, Harry, you know I love my children more than anything. (Y/n)’s just a really close second.”

Robin walked into the living room, looking nervous but trying to hide it. “Hello!”

“What’s going on Robin?” Harry questioned.

Robin sighed. “I know you expected it to just be the five of us, but your brother is coming as well.”

Harry’s confused look turned in to an angry one. “Since when was this planned?”

“Harry, don’t be like that,” Anne said almost sadly. “It was last minute, but Robert wants see you on your birthday just like we do.”

Harry rolled his eyes. “Yeah, sure.”

“Wait, you guys have a brother?” I asked.

Gemma nodded. “Yeah, he’s the middle child and we haven’t really seen much of him lately. He didn’t even come here for Christmas, though he was supposed to.”

“He was in Ireland and couldn’t get a flight out here as they cancelled most of them because of the weather.” Anne explained.

“Likely story,” Harry mumbled.

Anne tapped his shoulder lightly with the back of her hand. “Enough, let’s be nice, yeah?”

Harry sighed. “Yes, Mum.”

A while after that, Anne and Gemma made lunch for everyone, insisting that Harry and I not help because we were guests. Though, she was a guest too, but I just did as she asked instead if bringing that up. Anne said we had about fifteen minutes until it would be ready, so Harry, Robin, and I sat in the living room watching tv. There was a knock at the door, and I could tell Harry was definitely not looking forward to seeing who was on the other side.

“Hello, Robert!” Robin said when he opened the door. “Come on in.”

When he came in I was in shock. He was really handsome. He had short brown hair, similar to Harry’s but a bit shorter as Harry’s had grown out some, and he had a bit of gel in it unlike Harry. Harry didn’t even look in his direction, but Robert looked over at us and smiled wide.

“Hello, baby brother!” Robert all but sang, causing Harry to cringe. Robert took off the sunglasses he had on,which were definitely unnecessary, and looked at me. “Who is this beautiful woman you have sitting next to you?”

Harry looked like he was getting more irritated by the second. “This is (y/n).”

“Ah, it is so nice to meet you,” Robert said as we shook hands. “How long have you known Harry? A couple months?”

“More like four years,” I corrected him.

Robert looked at Harry and I in shock. “Is that so? How is this the first time we’ve met?”

“Maybe because you’re never around, you–”

“Dinner is ready!” Gemma interrupted Harry. I laughed at her timing.

“Gemma! How are you, my gorgeous big sister?” Robert said as he hugged her.

“I’ve been great, and yourself?” She said politely.

“I’ve been well,” He nodded.

We all got some dinner and sat in the living room as we ate, making small talk.

“So, what have you been doing?” Gemma asked Robert.

“I’ve actually just finished up filming my second movie.” Robert said proudly.

“Of fucking course he has,” Harry muttered as he scowled.

“Really? In only a year? That’s lovely!” Anne said, hugging her son. “I’m so proud of you, Robby.”

“Thanks, Mum.” Robert smiled. “So, what have my siblings been up to, hm?”

“Well, I write articles for a site called The Debrief and I also write for Mtv and other websites too.” Gemma told him.

“That’s awesome, Gem! You’ve always been such a talented writer, I knew you’d go on to do great things.” Robert complimented. “And you, Harry?”

Harry completely ignored him, eating his food and acting as if his brother wasn’t even here.

“Uh, he’s finished up filming Dunkirk, and he did a cover and spread for Another Man Magazine, and he’s working on his solo music and stuff now.” I spoke for him.

“Ah, that’s nice.” Robert said. “And what are you? Are you his publicist?”

“Oh, no,” I laughed. “I’m just with him a lot. Plus, he helps me write songs because I’m a singer too.”

“Well isn’t he lucky? He gets to work with you.” Robert grinned at me.

“I’m not feeling well, I’m going to go lie down.” Harry told everyone as he got up from beside me, taking his plate to the kitchen then going upstairs.

When everyone was finished eating, Gemma and I decided to do the dishes, telling Anne to take a well deserved break.

“So, Gem, what’s up with Harry and Robert?” I asked her, taking the plate she just washed and drying it. “Harry seems like he despises him.”

“They’ve had this sibling rivalry ever since they were young. Whenever Harry did something, Robert had to one up him. And he do whatever it took to do it. As you could probably tell, he likes to charm his way around, and Harry hates how fake he sounds.” Gemma explained.

“Wow,” I sighed. “I literally had no clue about that. Or him, for that matter.”

Gemma nodded. “I’m not surprised, Harry never brings Robert up because of how much he dislikes him. That’s why he’s upset he’s here and keeping to himself. He’s probably afraid Robert’s going to take his spotlight on his birthday.”

“We won’t let that happen, right?” I wondered. “I mean, I wouldn’t want Harry’s day to be anything but amazing.”

“I feel the same way,” She agreed. “We’ll just have to make sure it doesn’t happen.”

Soon after, Gemma and I were finished and the dishes were put away. She made tea for us both, offering some to Anne and Robin, but they said they said they were going to bed. We sat and talked in the kitchen for a while, then right when Gemma said she was going to bed as well, Robert came in.

“You going to bed, Gem?” Robert asked her.

“Yeah, I’m tired from traveling and everything.” She told him.

“Alright, well goodnight,” He said as he hugged her.

“Goodnight,” She said back, going upstairs.

“So, what is a stunning girl like you doing hanging around with a guy like my brother?” He asked me, making me raise my eyebrows.

“Um, I’m not sure what you mean by that.” I lied.

He chuckled. “What I meant is, what do you see in him exactly?”

I gave him a look. “Excuse me?”

He sighed. “Look, all I’m trying to say is, if you’re trying to be with Harry then don’t bother. There are guys out there than can treat you much better than he can. Like me, for example.” I just stood there in shock. “Go out with me, and I’ll prove it to you.”

“Why the hell am I not surprised?”

I sighed in relief as Harry walked into the kitchen, a smug but angry look on his face.

“You know, (y/n) and I are actually together, but if we weren’t, there’s no chance in hell she’s do anything with you.” Harry slighted.

Robert laughed. “Really? Because she was about to agree to go on a date with me before you rudely interrupted us.”

“Cut the shit,” Harry spat. “I heard the whole thing, and she didn’t seem the least bit interested in you. And why would she be? You’re nothing but a dickhead that kisses ass to get what you want, and the only reason you try your damnedest to beat me at everything is because of how jealous you are of me.”

Robert scoffed. “Me? Jealous of you? Please, it’s you that’s jealous, Harry. You’ve always wanted what I had, ever since we were kids.”

“Really? Is that why you’re trying to flirt with my girlfriend? Because I want what you have?” Harry crossed his arms, waiting for Robert to reply.

“Look,” I spoke up. “Think we should all just go to bed, arguing isn’t going to solve anything.”

“No, actually, Robert was about to leave.” Harry countered.

Robert gave Harry a look. “And what makes you think I’m going to do that?”

“Because if you don’t we’ll have a big problem.” Robin said as he, Gemma, and Anne all came in. Robert looked at everyone in shock.

“I cannot believe you,” Anne said disappointingly. “How dare you treat Harry and (y/n) this way. You should be ashamed.”

Robert started to look sad, but then a slightly angry look appeared on his face. “And everyone wonders why I never come around anymore.”

“That’s your own damn fault and no one else’s,” Harry glared  at him. “Now, get your things and go.”

The next morning, I came downstairs and saw Harry helping Anne with breakfast, Gemma and Robin drinking coffee and talking. I quietly walked up behind Harry and hugged him.

“Happy birthday!” I cheered.

He laughed, turning around and hugging me properly. “Thanks, lovely.”

“So, um, I have a question.” I said.

“Shoot,” He grinned.

“Why did you say I was your girlfriend last night?” I watched as he started to blush.

“Oh, I just said that so he’d, uh, leave you alone.” He shrugged.

“Sure.” I drawled out.

“Why else would I have done it?” He messed with his hair.

“I don’t know,” I said putting my finger on my chin. “Maybe, because you like me?” Robin, Gemma, and Anne tried to hold in their laughter.

Harry hesitated. “Well what if I do?”

“Then, maybe we should do something about it. Like go on a date?” I proposed.

“Maybe I’d like that,” Harry beamed.

“Quit saying ‘maybe’, and just go out tonight.” Gemma insisted, earning laughs from everyone.

“I think we should listen to your sister.” I said as I put my arms around Harry, and him doing the same to me.

“I think so, too.” He winked.

Hey guys! Which place did you enjoy filming the most in (that wasn't native to you) and where did you learn the most from? Love you and love the show, can't wait for S2! Xx

I really enjoyed Chicago. It’s one of my top three favorite states in America. I feel like it’s a hidden gem in plain site. It’s got amazing culture, an amazing story, I learned so much and I love it.

-Freema

Amsterdam was my favorite and Korea was where I learned the most.
