such a great exchange

imagine we make contact with an alien species that’s like, vastly technologically superior, they could fucking kill us in a single shot if they really wanted to

and this species has never eaten salad before. and we show them salad and they eat it and they’re like holy living fuck this is tasty. and suddenly they’re offering us huge houses with all kind of advanced technological shit and incredible medical care and all the amenities and everything, with the only condition that we keep making salad for them.

and like, salad isn’t even hard to make. grab some plants, dump em in a bowl. it doesn’t have to be fancy salad, they’ll fall all over themselves for the most mediocre salad in the world. we can make so much salad that we’re practically drowning in it, even if we eat some of the salad ourselves. and in exchange we’re protected from danger, we have great living conditions, it’s basically paradise compared to life on earth

dragonatthedinnertable  asked:

I really need to know about the mailman who delivers based on the aztec lunar calendar!!

So my family lives in the unincorporated Larimer County and for about 10 Years, our postman was Mr. Schmidt.

Do not allow the name to fool you.

Mr. Schmidt was well over 6 feet tall, mostly gangling odd-bending limbs and had a beard that went nearly to his knees.  Our post office allegedly had a regulated delivery schedule, but Mr. Schmidt would turn up with mail according to his own personal comprehension of time, which I’m pretty sure was set to his home dimension of Qulaxon-51^778~

I’d be lying in bed at 2AM, Dog on my feet in a pitch-black room, when there would be the loud squealing of a an ancient subaru with a USPS roof ornament and a failing timing belt that never got replaced the whole decade I knew him, and my room would flood with the unholy blue led headlights he’d installed.

SCREEEEEEELELELELELELELEeeee- CHUNK.
~creeeeeek~
CRUMPLE
slam!
“GOOOOOOOD MORNING WORLD!”
sssSSCREEEEEEEELELELE-

Ah.  I would think to myself, Mr. Schmidt’s Austrian-Texan* holler still echoing in my ears. Mail’s here.

Mr. Schmidt had a difficulty in his job in that the driver’s side of the car in the US always faces the middle of the road, unless one drives into oncoming traffic.  Which means that most postal workers have to stop and hop out of their trucks to stick the mail in the box.  Mr. Schmidt was fundamentally opposed to doing things like parking, or following OSHA recommendations, so he committed some kind of automotive black magic and moved the back seat bench up to the front and angled all the pedals, so that he could drive the Subaru whilst lounging across the bench, head and arms outside the passenger window, one foot operating the pedals and the other one steering.

It was like if one of the members of ZZtop had an illegitimate child with tree-beard and he grew up to be both a hedonist roman and a postman.

Mr. Schmidt’s odd schedule and curious antics were very tolerated in my neck of the county though, becuase he could reliably deliver mail to our curiously unplottable house, and the other houses on sometimes-numbered roads that were really more sage than dirt and located halfway up a canyon.  Packages arrived well before they were due and never so much as dented, and we were somehow never afflicted with penny-savers.  Not rain nor snow nor gloom of night nor bears nor wildfire evacuations nor that one time it got down to -20 and the road was covered in three inches of ice and everyone’s tires went flat could stop his deliveries.

My family had been in the practice of mailing a fruitcake between various blood and legal relations for several years as A Practical Joke, but after an uncle burned my aunt’s house to the ground (God please make sure he’s dead) we weren’t sure Freddie Fruitcake was still with us. The aunt called us, sobbing after three weeks of holding it together in the face of the loss of her house to tell us that she hadn’t been able to find Freddie in the wreckage, and that she’d been intending to send it to us this year.  We did our best to comfort her, it’s fine, honestly the fruitcake isn’t important compared to her safety, please come for the holidays.

She agreed and we went to collect her from the airport a few days later.  We arrived back at the house to discover that Mr. Schmidt had parked the Subaru and was standing at the front door with a small package in his hands.

“This looks important.”  he said, handing my bewildered aunt the box before nodding, folding himself back into the Subaru and driving off. Awed and wondering, we hustled inside from the snow, and studied the package.  Unfamiliar handwriting, return address from Seward, Alaska.

Inside was not Freddy, but another fruitcake of the same brand.  As far as anyone knew, we’d never spoken to Mr. Schmidt about the Great Fruitcake exchange but his relationship with reality was odd enough that I suppose that he could have been listening in.

*My best guess for the accent.  It was really more over-caffeinated goat than anything else.

A Collection Of Books By Neurologist Oliver Sacks

If you’re interested in neuroscience or psychology, I’d highly reccomend any book by Oliver Sacks! I get asked a lot about books to read so you can also check out this video I made with my top 7 and this masterpost which includes websites where you can learn more!

1. Migrane

For centuries, physicians have been fascinated by the many manifestations of migraine, and especially by the visual hallucinations or auras- similar in some ways to those induced by hallucinogenic drugs or deliria–which often precede a migraine. Dr. Sacks describes these hallucinatory constants, and what they reveal about the working of the brain.

2. Awakenings

Awakenings is the remarkable account of a group of patients who contracted sleeping-sickness during the great epidemic just after World War I. Frozen in a decades-long sleep, these men and women were given up as hopeless until 1969, when Dr. Sacks gave them the then-new drug L-DOPA, which had an astonishing, explosive, “awakening” effect. Dr. Sacks recounts the moving case histories of these individuals, the stories of their lives, and the extraordinary transformations they underwent with treatment.

3. The Island of The Color Blind

Oliver Sacks has always been fascinated by islands, and this book is an account of his work with an isolated community of islanders born totally colorblind.  He listens to these achromatopic islanders describe their colorless world in rich terms of pattern and tone, luminance and shadow.

4. Uncle Tungsten

A book about Sacks’ childood;  his discovery of biology, his departure from his childhood love of chemistry and, at age 14, a new understanding that he would become a doctor.

5. An Anthropologist on Mars

This book talks about 7 seemingly paradoxical neurological conditions: including a surgeon consumed by the compulsive tics of Tourette’s Syndrome except when he is operating; an artist who loses all sense of color in a car accident, but finds a new sensibility and creative power in black and white; and an autistic professor who has great difficulty deciphering the simplest social exchange between humans, but has built a career out of her intuitive understanding of animal behavior.

6.  Seeing Voices

A journey into the world of deaf culture, and the neurological and social underpinnings of the remarkable visual language of the congenitally deaf. Sacks writes “The existence of a visual language, Sign, and the visual intelligence that goes with its acquisition, shows us that the brain is rich in potentials we would scarcely have guessed of, shows us the almost unlimited resource of the human organism when it is faced with the new and must adapt.”

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. If you aren’t able to contribute anything a boost would be most appreciated!

Jupiter in the Fire signs
People with their Jupiter in a Fire sign (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) have astounding self awareness. They have the grand ability of encouraging and empowering others with a strong sense of self. The Fire sign Jupiters are bursting with enthusiasm in a social setting and they can help people find their own light.

Jupiter in the Earth signs
People with their Jupiter in an Earth sign (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) must find a way to balance themselves as a person and help others find stability as well. They engage all their senses into whatever they do. They have the ability to guide others in a strategic and “step-by-step” way. The Earth sign Jupiters think before they do something, but nonetheless they are “doers” and they can help others visualize and achieve their long-term goals.

Jupiter in the Air signs
People with their Jupiter in an Air sign (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) often do best in social settings where they are able to exchange ideas with others. They have great social skills and if they really use it, they’ll realize how great they are with people and how their presence is appreciated. People with an Air sign Jupiter have a lot to offer and they always light up a situation.

Jupiter in the Water signs
People with their Jupiter in a Water sign (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) have a strong ability to heal others on a deeper level. Once they learn how to accept their emotions and work with them is when they will start to see good fortune come their way. Someone with their Jupiter in a Water sign is usually the most spiritually inclined of all the Jupiter signs. Since they are not afraid to dive so deep.

The thing about Damianos Akielos is that he is a Hot Commodity. There’s probably a 30 page waiting list out there of people who want a chance to date him. The only problem is that since the age of fourteen, he’s never been single for more than a week. A week!

“He sounds great,” the bartender says, polishing a glass. Laurent realises that he’s been speaking out loud. He is drunk. He also realises that this bartender - Rick, or Mick, or Mike, or whatever his nametag says, words are a little blurry at this point - doesn’t realise the magnitude of the situation at hand.

Summer break is officially over in the Netherlands, so you can expect a lot more posts soon. The introduction week was tiring, but the classes I’m taking are the best! I met so many great people, including an exchange student from Chicago. I started my bullet journal this week -hoping I’ll be more organized this year- and it turned out beautiful. I’m so nervous for my classes I might throw up, let’s just say my anxiety is kicking in!

this is for @ilgaksu because she had a bad day and we’ve been chatting spy au and she gave me an idea and i want to cheer her up. all those reasons

Running the surveillance van is generally considered the boring job, but Matt doesn’t mind it. He can people watch to some extent, and he has Neil here to keep him company in watching the screens. It’s quiet and requires no acting, which makes it preferable to being in Andrew’s position right now.

On Matt’s screen, Andrew is leaning back in his seat, cards held in one hand and a low glass next to the other. He’s pretending to be a Russian magnate with a taste for the dirtier side of capitalism and also for killing people he doesn’t like. He looks relaxed, swimming with sharks. Probably because he’s the deadliest predator swimming in these waters.

They’re well into the game in there when Neil says something low in a language that definitely isn’t English, and then, “Fuck, fuck, fuck.”

“What?” Matt asks. He’s instantly alarmed, because it takes a lot to make Neil lose his cool – the last time he said something similar, he was bleeding out from a hole in his gut.

Neil is already on his feet. “I’ve got to go in there.”

Neil is definitely not supposed to go in there. He’s only here in the van because of a concession on Wymack’s part, mostly because they’d all believed he’d find a way to get involved in the worst way possible if he weren’t included in an official role. Things have gotten a lot more complicated since he and Andrew started working together, including the frequency with which Neil gets bullet wounds.

“You can’t,” Matt says. “You’ve got your orders.”

“Do you really think I care?” Neil replies. “Andrew’s about to get his cover blown, and I can’t warn him from here.”

They couldn’t send Andrew in wearing an earpiece because everyone inside was searched for tech, so the only support they could provide was watching like this. “How do you know you won’t get him killed storming in there right now?”

“What would you do if it were Dan? Sit in your ass here in the van, or go?” Neil asks. Matt looks away from the screen to his face, taking in the brutal determination with which he looks back.

Matt and Dan are married, but he suspects mentioning that might not be worth the air he’d waste in the process. Whatever bond it is that Andrew and Neil have, it’s probably just as significant, as close and as unbreakable. He says instead, “Who did you see?”

idk if anyone has already asked but top 10 yuuri and phichit moments in collage or in general??

I’m going to make this top 10 Yuuri and Phichit moments in college because Yuuri and Phichit’s college misadventures is my lifeblood

Top 10 Yuuri and Phichit Moments In College:

10) Yuuri is a complete night owl. He works best at about about midnight and runs almost entirely on coffee during early morning practices. Phichit on the other hand is that one unfairly perfect person who enjoys getting up at 6am to take aesthetic photos of the sunrise and has never touched coffee before. Yuuri has never been more envious of another person in his life

9) Once, they mutually decided that it would be fun to try and re-enact the skating sequences from ‘The King and The Skater’. Phichit already knew them off by heart so Yuuri learned them for Phichit in a day and they managed to skate the whole thing pretty much flawlessly, in-character and all. Phichit still considers it one of their greatest achievements and it’s one of his most liked posts on Instagram to date. The actors of the film even commented on it and he printed out the comments to frame on his wall.

8) One year Yuuri had a terrible professor who refused to cut him any slack even though he was a professional athlete with some serious additional commitments. The teacher scheduled a test the day Yuuri arrived back from a competition when he knew he would be way too exhausted to be able to concentrate properly. Phichit knew how nervous Yuuri was about the whole thing so just before the test began he burst into the room yelling at the top of his lungs that there had been a skating emergency and Yuuri had to leave immediately. He acted it out so well, tears and all, that the teacher let Yuuri go out of pure confusion and worry, giving Yuuri an extra day to prepare.

7) They got drunk for the first time together. Yuuri bought the alcohol and they spent the night laughing hysterically over films and trying to drunk make pizza at three in the morning. They also went out drinking for the first time together and woke up the next day with mutual hangovers and about a million selfies of them and people they had never met before from the club on Phichit’s phone. Both they considered excellent nights.

6) Speaking of drinking, while they usually go out together, when they don’t they are each other’s sober contacts to call if the other needs help home. Yuuri has rescued Phichit from trying to drunk demonstrate one of his routines on roller-skates in a car park at two in the morning (it’s a long story) and Phichit managed to talk Yuuri down from pole dancing on a lamppost and carried him home.

5) They are usually both pretty good at doing their work on time but during the competitive season sometimes deadlines get forgotten, meaning they have both been the person from this vine before when remembering an essay is due last minute

4) In reference to my top ten list of pranks they played on each other, there was an epic extended prank war when they were both in college that went on for about two years and only ended when Celestino finally banned it in exasperation

3) They had both been learning bits of Japanese/Thai for years for each other but when they got older they both made a concentrated effort to become more fluent, both because it was a nice gesture and also to be able to talk shit about people they didn’t like to each other in public places without anyone else being able to understand

2) In reference to my top ten about Yuuri being a great friend to Phichit, Phichit was dating a cute exchange student for a year but eventually the student had to go back home and they both decided long distance was never going to work and split up amicably. Phichit was still really upset about it though and so Yuuri bundled him up in as many blankets as he could find and fed Phichit ice cream and watched films together until he felt better

1) Yuuri’s family couldn’t make it to his graduation which Yuuri was a little down about. Phichit knew and made it his mission to fill in and so during Yuuri’s graduation ceremony he cheered loudly enough for four, recorded the whole thing while sobbing about how they grow up so fast and dragged Yuuri out to celebrate afterwards for the best party he had ever thrown

Figure 7: The Exchange. Hand carved, inked, and pressed to wood in Salem, MA by Drew Meger.

“His fugue state returned some years later. Gone was the cold, distant man who haunted the archives. In his place was a man with the passions of a poet, a dreamer, a lunatic. He talked of returning, but to where? His body was found by the printing press, his final work drying on the racks.”

Alright, I had a post on Instagram displaying my treasure trove of Japanese language learning books. I wanted to show off a few of them and talk about all of them. The first photo displays them all (tumblr limited me to 10 photos only, so I’ll discuss some of them without photos, sorry!). Starting from the bottom of the pile:

1. Kanji Power by Tuttle. It’s what you think it is, a kanji workbook. It has a kanji, a mnemonic, some space to practice writing, on'yomi, kun'yomi, stroke order, and some vocabulary/phrases. It has some kanji not covered in my other kanji books.

2. If You Teach Me Japanese, I’ll Teach You English. It’s a strange little book and it’s taking me a while to get the hang of it, but this book was written specifically for language exchanges. Each lesson is done first in Japanese, then again in English. You and your partner serve as the “teacher” in your native language, while you practice that language. So I would read through as the instructor in the English lesson and guide my partner with the scripted dialogues, helping them along the way so that they learn English. They would do vice versa for me with the Japanese. I got this one specifically to aid me in exchanging my language with my partners. They do great with the Japanese and I needed guidance on how to help them with English. So this one isn’t really to learn Japanese, it’s to help me exchange with my Japanese friends.

3. Japanese Step by Step. This is one of the few books that focuses on teaching you SPEAKING Japanese. Most of my books help in reading, writing and I’m having to supplement with Memrise and YouTube for listening and speaking. This book has very easy to understand lessons, starting with syllables not syllabaries. Shows you in English what they’re trying to teach you in Japanese. So it’s almost like learning in parallel, I’m not explaining it well. It’s a really good book, you should just check it out.

4. Beginning Japanese by Yale University Press. This was originally my Dad’s book that he used to teach himself Japanese since he was being stationed there (way back in ye olden days). He very kindly gave it to me. This book also focuses on SPEAKING Japanese, not reading or writing in it. As such, it’s entirely in romaji! Not ideal, but if you just want to focus on speaking the language, this is a good place to start. Very thorough.

5. Reading Japanese by Yale University Press. Same authors as book #4, but not originally my Dad’s. Since this one is focused on READING (hence the title of the book), it is not in entirely in romaji. Whew! What a relief. I just got it today, so I have no feedback other than, I wanted both of these books together. It’s kind of like an entire course at your fingertips.

6. Japanese Kanji for Beginners by Tuttle. Covers JLPT N5 & N4. This is my primary Kanji workbook. I LOVE it. It’s set up pretty much the same as Kanji Power, it has exercises after each lesson so you can practice what you learned. The Kanji Power has the same things, but after a certain number of kanji have been introduced, instead of after each individual lesson. So they differ that way and in that they have different kanji. This book is specifically for JLPT N5/4 whereas Kanji Power is about expanding your kanji.

7. A Japanese Reader by Tuttle (notice the theme?). Pictures 2-4 are about this book. I cannot say enough nice things about this book! The book is split in two; open it like we open all books in the Western Hemisphere and it’s lessons starting with hiragana, open the book the other way and it’s all the reading lessons: from top to bottom and right to left! It’s so cool! The first few elementary readings aren’t actual sentences. They’re just to get you accustomed to the style of reading and the syllabaries (this is where I’m at). The readings get way more advanced though and are excerpts from Japanese literature, some fictional and some non-fictional.

8. A History of Japan. This is another one of Dad’s book that he is lending to me (sadly I don’t get to keep it). I haven’t read it yet but I’m looking forward to it. Granted, it has nothing to do with the language itself, but who here has learned a language without learning anything about the culture, history, and society of the country that speaks the language? Half the point of learning a language is to learn the history and culture of the target language’s country. So I have a book on Japan’s history to supplement the language learning.

9. A Dictionary of Japanese Food by Tuttle. Pictures 5 & 6 are of this book. Just as I stated in the above book, it’s important to know the culture and history of the place whose language you are learning. The “Japanese Kanji for Beginners” book had an exercise in the first lesson involving food. One of the dishes stood out to me because I had no clue what it was “shabu-shabu.” I still don’t know what it is, but now I have a dictionary so I can look it up! If ever I learn how to cook Japanese food, shabu-shabu will be very near the top of the list of things to make and try. The back of the book has some appendices on chopsticks, some ingredients of Japanese food, and food etiquette.

10. The Handbook of Japanese Verbs (picture 7). Verbs seem to be the guts of a sentence in Japanese so I figured it’d be important to learn them a little more in depth than my grammar book goes into. Besides explaining verbs, it has exercises to practice!

11. All About Particles (picture 8). Much like the verb book above, this is all about particles (another very important part of the Japanese language) and also has exercises to help you grasp the concepts. Goes in depth about the particles and actually has sentences in Japanese, literal translations, and English translations. It’s very thorough.

12. Japanese Coursebook by Living Language. Akin to the Yale University Press books that I covered earlier, this book is a complete course for learning how to SPEAK Japanese. As such, it is entirely in romaji but is set up different than the Yale books and has different vocabulary. I use them in conjunction with each other, so that I get the most vocabulary overall.

13. Japanese Grammar by Barron. Pictures 9 & 10 are of this book. This is my absolute favorite book out of them all. Besides being pocket-sized so I can take it just about anywhere with me, it’s a grammar book. I’m not a Grammar Nazi, I’m a Grammarian (one who studies grammar [on purpose]). I read grammar books for my native English and I greatly enjoy grammar for Ancient Greek too (my first foreign language and first true love). All the other books focus on a particular portion of grammar, or the writing system, or speaking. I wanted a book that focused entirely on grammar since I’ve heard it’s so vastly different from English (it’s not THAT different guys). As you can see in the very last picture, the book is printed in two colors. I cannot begin to express how wonderful this is for me. I have Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (SSS or 3S) and basically what that means is, my eyes don’t work right (duh). They don’t pick up all the wavelengths of light that they’re supposed to. So some colors (and light sources) are harder for me to see and make me very sick trying to look at them. It seems like I have dyslexia but it’s not my brain, it’s just my eyes suck. The added color is much easier on my eyes than all black print on white pages (college was nightmare, in case you wondered).

Last book,

14. Kanji Starter 1. Not a lesson book at all! It has 200 kanji and is essentially a book of mnemonics for them. I use it as a catalog and mark the kanji I’ve mastered from other sources in this book. I also use it as a quick reference when I get suddenly forget a kanji I’ve already learned. That way I don’t have to find the right lesson book and track it down. I got this kanji book before any of the others and it served as the introduction to what i was getting myself into. It made the kanji seem so not scary that by the time I picked up a workbook, kanji was beautiful, logical, and fun. No fear!

Sorry this was so long. I’m on a mobile device so I can’t do the nice “keep reading” breaks or formatting. So it’s just a really long, darn post. But now you know of 14 books you can use for Japanese learning! Also, quick note, all of the books with bar code stickers on them were all purchased form the same site.

ThriftBooks.com has so many books, including rare ones, old, ones, and textbooks, for a fraction of the price. I looked up some of my Tuttle books, one of them was like $19.95 normally (without shipping and tax). On ThriftBooks I got it for $3.50! If your total purchase is over $10 shipping is entirely free too. So if you’re looking for language resources, a new novel, or you’re in college and need textbooks, check the site out because it might save you a boat-load of money.

After hours of trying things on and not finding anything that you and your mother agreed on, you decide to go to a small boutique outside the city. You used to always go shopping there when you lived here and you had faith that you would find something that you liked and your mother agreed.

“You should have bought that last dress, you looked beautiful in it.” You watch as your mother starts the car “It was a white lace dress, the bride would kill me and I’m planning on going back home safe and sound.” You say in a serious tone, you didn’t want to cause any more drama.

“You could always use it with James; I don’t know, you were just so beautiful in that dress.” You put your hand on your mother's shoulder squeezing it lightly “It’s a little earlier to start thinking about wedding dresses, don’t you think?”

This little 5 second scene was when I really loved her. Don’t get me wrong, her introductory scene was great, but there’s something about this exchange that’s so pure? I just thought it was very cute how Lena was making casual small talk about how much she hates flying to the pilot.

And then she makes a fist in her lap, showing how scared she actually is. We’ve seen Katie McGrath use this acting choice (in her scenes with Brenda Strong) before but when she did this right before they were taking off, I was like “oh no I’ve fallen for another fictional character”.

Take a look at the fics from the 1000 Feelings For Which There Are No Names Challenge !

As usual, all my fic recs are in the masterpost.

⭐️ Wholehearted , by TheMagicWord  : AU. When superstar singer and winner of The Voice Louis Tomlinson tweets “Nothing worse than waking up with no milk for a cuppa !! Gutted” he doesn’t expect someone to bring him some. And he really doesn’t expect that someone to have bright green eyes, long curly hair, and (fucking) dimples.

Larry famous not famous AU (77k) : stop everything and read it now. Fav smut (kind of share that)(also ANKLE KINK), and a bit of angst because closeting and bearding.

⭐️See Clearly Now , by @a-writerwrites : OR a five-times fic where two guys, one college dorm room and a faulty door lead to a few embarrassing situations and finding out more about themselves and each other than they ever bargained for.

Larry Roommates Uni AU (11k) : omg so much wanking. All the wanking. And so much fun !

⭐️  On The Open Road , by MoonlitLarrie : Harry and Louis grew up together, they shared childhood and teenage memories, but they never really got along. What happens when they reunite after four years of not seeing each other, and they find out that the person they hated so much is not the same person anymore? Or a short roadtrip!au in which Harry and Louis have to travel together across the US, deal with the past and of course, share a bed.

Larry road-trip and hate to love AU (24k) : the question is : will I never be tired of this plot ? The answer is : NEVER. Great story, and funny moments ! also car sex , WHOOP WHOOP. (read the tags for TW)

⭐️ come away with me , by @fukcinglouis :  Louis had such big plans. He wanted so much out of life, and so did Amy. Now Bridget is going to grow up without a mother, and she’s always going to wonder what it would be like if this hadn’t happened. He wonders if she’ll blame him for her mother’s death as she gets older, or if she’ll understand that this is just as painful for Louis as it is for her. Louis doesn’t know how he’s going to raise her on his own, because he’s a fantastic father, yes, but he’s always been the fun parent, and Amy was in charge of the rules. He doesn’t know how to make sure Bridget has everything she needs all the time, doesn’t know how to make her favorite meal or how to do that one braid she loves to have in her hair or how to teach her to be the best person she can be. He doesn’t know how to live without Amy, he doesn’t know what he’s going to do. Or, Louis has to pick up the pieces of his and his daughter’s life after his wife dies, and Harry is a beautiful stranger that just wants to help.

Larry single dad Louis (80k) : this is hurting a lot tbh. Widower Louis (and fair warning, you’ll see his wife in the first chapter), a very big sexual identity crisis, a lot of angst … and it’s awesome. Kind of share that for the smut!

⭐️The Oldest Magic Word  , by anonymous : Louis gets called up to play Seeker for the English National Team and when he gets there, he finds out that Harry Styles, his old school crush, is the Team Healer.

Larry Harry Potter AU (18k) : say hello to the HP Exchange ! also sayyyy helllo to teasing/pining/sexual tension !! GREAT :)) (love you forever for the shower sex)(bottom Louis)

⭐️When You Look Like That , by @hrrytomlinson : “You… you still have the dress form I got you for your eighteenth birthday? You’ve kept it for ten years, Harry?” Louis’ eyes flick around Harry’s studio. It’s big and modern, with floor to ceiling windows that help flood the room in bright sunlight, just like the lobby. However, he can’t stop staring at the faded, but present, heart surrounding the “H + L” written delicately in Louis’ handwriting in the center of the mannequin. Louis is a songwriter who is nominated for a Grammy and he needs a suit. Fast. He seeks out help from a very popular, very mysterious designer who just so happens to be his ex-boyfriend.

Larry AU (16k) famous-famous AU and ex to lovers , with a great story, fluffy and not angsty or smutty :)

⭐️ Be with me so happily , by @briannamarguerite Or … the one where Harry Styles has a bad reputation and a heart of gold, and Louis Tomlinson wishes he wasn’t so enchanted by boys who looked like Disney characters and wore shirts with bumble bees on them. [aka Louis is the director of the Styles Elephant Sanctuary and really doesn’t want to babysit his funder’s spoiled lay-about son for two months]

Larry AU (42k) : rich and kind of famous Harry, sassy Louis, some hate to love who doesnt last long, a bit of angst (and elephants will make me you emo) , also yay smut ! (kind of share that)

⭐️ a body wishes to be held & held , by turnyourankle : Harry wants to return the favour after Louis helps him out with his heat.

Larry a/b/o (7k) : let’s be real : it’s smut. Hellooooo dirty talks ! Omega Harry !
