style strengths

“I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
Jeremiah 29:11 The Message

  • Yang: Look. All I'm saying is that your weapons are pretty simple and easy to use.
  • Sun: Are you freaking kidding me? My weapons try years to master.
  • Yang: Oh Please. They are four guns that are chained together. It's pretty simple.
  • Sun: Pfft, Like you;re one to talk. You weapons are just gloves. Anyone who can throw a punch can use them.
  • Yang: Wha? Nuh-huh. It takes style and strength to use my babies.
  • Sun: Okay tell you what. Lets switch weapons and see who can master the others.
  • Yang: YOU'RE ON!
  • ~Later~
  • Blake: Soooo just to clarify, You *points to Sun* Broken Both of your arms because you couldn't withstand the kickback of Yang's Gauntlets. *now points to Yang* And you accidentally shot yourself in the foot after whacking yourself in the face with one of Sun's nun-chuck pistils?
  • Yang: Yep. *she said with a cased foot and a red line across her face.*
  • Sun: Pretty much. *he said with both arms in cases*
  • Blake: *blake shook her head while pinching the bridge of her nose.* Sigh... Oh, My dumbass blondes.
  • Yang/Sun: HEY!
  • Blake: My Sexy dumbass blondes.
  • Yang/Sun: Hell yeah. *Fist bump eachother only leading to Sun's hand hurting more and Yang's case foot to fall out of the bed and hit the floor.* OW!
  • Blake: *thinking* Why does my girlfriend and bestfriend have to have a bromance?

“There’s this youth culture that is really, really powerful and really, really strong, but what it does is it really discards people once they reach a certain age. I actually think that people are so powerful and interesting - women, especially - when they reach my age. We’ve got so much to say, but popular culture is so reductive that we just talk about whether we’ve got wrinkles, or whether we’ve put on weight or lost weight, or whether we’ve changed our hair style. I just find that so shallow.”

Happy 60th birthday, you badass!

Trying to understand why Beyonce’s Grammy snub bothered me so much because if y'all know me, when it comes to pop music culture, I am oblivious to what’s in or who’s who. I just found out yesterday that the weeknd cut his hair if that tells you how out of touch I am.

So Beyonce getting snubbed shouldn’t have bothered because for all intents and purposes, I am not the Grammy’s audience.

However, Beyonce is different. I remember a post asking why Beyonce was so special after it was revealed she was pregnant and the subsequent reaction to it, and the answer to that question is that Beyonce is the biggest black cultural icon for nearly a decade and a half. She is such an inspiration to little black girls that you can see her influence in almost every black woman under 35.  We see it in their hair, style, personality, strength, fashion, and attitude. Pretty sure if you asked a black woman what Beyonce song embodies them, they could give you a playlist.

As a guy, I grew up watching Beyonce and knew who she was watching the Smart Guy on Disney Channel all wishing we were Marcus’s lucky ass because have you seen Beyonce? We watched her when she was with Destiny’s Child who outside of Kelly, Michelle, and Latoya, we can’t really name. We watched her go single. We watched her claim that she was become a Survivor. We grew up with this woman.

She took on the task of being black women’s avatar from being cheated on, dealing with no good niggas, being single, being in love, having a good time, praying and going to church, falling in love, and etc. She was there for them expressing herself for them  in every situation and became their superwoman.

And quite frankly, she didn’t have to be. She could have been the unaffected light skin and played it safe. She was America’s ideal black woman. She could have pulled a Drake and not said a fucking thing. She could have pulled a Raven and said some fuck shit. She could have released the same singles and strayed away from black culture.  But she decided to take on the taboos of daring to embrace and express her sexuality as a black woman in her self-titled album and in the next, embrace her blackness in a way no artist has done in such a public stage.

She decided to make a statement when the world and everything deterred her from doing so even if it meant alienated part of her fanbase. I have never seen an artist in this stage proudly represent the Black Panthers like Beyonce. I have never seen an artist express themselves like Beyonce fucking Knowles-Carter. Not even her husband took on racism in this country like Beyonce. And it’s no coincidence that after Jay-Z flat out refused the call to assist direct action black groups referring to it as charity, that he is very much involved now.

It’s Beyonce trying to have a Black History Channel.

It’s Beyonce, with her husband, who tried to buy the rights of the Confederate flag.

It’s Beyonce, who was questioned by conservatives and had protests outside her concerts preaching that conscious shit.

Beyonce spoke from her heart and decided to make a statement twice in a row about things that were perceived to be out of her realm and spoke on it with more eloquence and effectiveness than most so-called conscious rappers.

Beyonce never turned her back on blackness when even her husband has. She embraced it and celebrated it. She never shamed women(save for that song Nasty girl but that was growing period). She embraced black femininity and gave every black girl a style to be proud of.

So when she gets snubbed expressing her blackness. It is a fucking insult to not just her, but to everyone who dared to say,“I am black and proud.”

I tried drawing a Dangan Ronpa OC from scratch. I have a ton of Dangan Ronpa OCs, but I always used the other sprites as bases. This would be the first one I’ve actually sketched myself.
I have basically nothing about her, though.

She’s the SHSL Architect and her name is Chiyo Kimura.
She’s a nervous and somewhat cowardly girl who needs to feel secure. She rarely takes any risks and prefers to work diligently in her home. Her designs are world-renowned for their unique style and strength.
She’s creative and hard-working. She can understand others quite easily and her designs reflect the client to a tee, giving her a good reputation in her field.
One of the causes for her nervous demeanor is her amputated leg (not shown in the picture because it was cut off below the knee). She was caught in an earthquake when scouting an abandoned building and was almost crushed crumbling debris.
She’s generally indifferent towards having a prosthetic leg as her work was never too active but the incident was traumatising for her.

Double Ponytails.

Just days ago, before everything changed, an anon asked me to draw Lirry, because it was a rarely drawn ship. Here’s my current take on Liam and Harry, after all that’s happened - I like to think they had a private moment leaning on each other, connecting to Zayn. So I guess the drawing actually turned out Zirry/Zarriam…but can you blame me?

Fire thing for jinbe? Dunno if there's even a whole lot out there, but eh, im curious

I feel like people are pretty evenly divided with opinions on this so it’s not technically an unpopular opinion, but it’s the best I’ve got.

He is 100% Straw Hat material and I’m now absolutely certain he’s going to join the crew permanently at the end of this arc. Good person? Check. Secretly A Dork? Check. Luffy likes him and wants him on the crew? Check. Boom. Every requirement is filled. Not enough? Here are some BONUSES: Has a meaningful connection with at least 1 member of the crew? Check. Has fought alongside them in at least 1 battle? Check. Brings something new to the crew? Check (fighting style, race, Level of Strength, connections).

Like maaaan his credentials outstrip those of literally every other New Nakama candidate I’ve seen people rooting for, IDEK how people can question his joining the crew.
