i actually do, because maybe someone read it and think about how homophobic it is to praise niall for ignoring the flag. You know as a poc i really dont care for zayn or his stunt relationship or whatever, but i m not spending my time hating him and publishing heteronormative asks. I love niall, but that ask and your answer is very close to homophobia.

So you feel better for misinterpreting things. Alright, perhaps try to not misinterpret next time.

The ask you’re referring to said:

Then I was thinking, someone at Niall’s concert had a small rainbow flag and he didn’t knowledge the flag or anything, and everything was fine because that’s not necessary.

There is nothing homophobic in saying Niall doesn’t need to acknowledge something. (And Niall has been pro-gay rights publicly.)

There is also nothing homophobic or close to it in my answer, which was almost entirely about what that person thought of Niall’s songs. I wrote:

As for Harry, it’s fine if other people love what he’s doing. I can’t look past the baiting and all that.

If waving a rainbow flag around makes up for: writing a song that names a woman he had sex with without telling, kicking a female fan in the head and claiming she’s lying, saying Clare belongs in the back, saying some weak feminist platitudes, overly simplifying mental illness, only including men on his  songwriting team, wearing rainbows in private but not in public, joking in very sexist ways about women with James Corden on TV, staying dead silent on most political issues while conveniently claiming SOTT is about all them and also a post-childbirth dying mother, and using Louis for promo (milkshake tweet) and saying equality isn’t a political issue–great! You do you!

Waving a rainbow flag around (that he did not bring, for the record) does not make up for all of that behavior to me.

My standards are higher.
