stuff like this makes me never want to post my artwork ever again

The definitive* guide of Robert spending money on Aaron

Here it is, a definitive list of things Robert has spent money on for Aaron, on Aaron or to be with Aaron.

Some of the things in these categories are questionable (cough hitman cough) BUT on the positive side the most amount of money Rob’s spent was for good not evil. 😅

This post got longer than i expected, it was fun so i hope you enjoy.

How can I spend more time with bae AKA the beginning

Scrapyard Investment -  The best money Robert has ever spent.  He was so smitten with Aaron after 2 fucks he was already breaking all his rules and handing over 10k to invest in whatever Adam & Aaron wanted, he didn’t even care what the business was £10,000

Hotel 1 - Let’s be honest this hotel was nothing special and Robert probably expensed it back to Home Farm Estates like the trash he is. But waking up together for the first time. The heart eyes. Robert in those tight black underpants. Money very well spent. £60

Hotel 2 - Robert just wanted to spoil Aaron, rip his suit off and fuck him in a fancy hotel…if that’s not love i don’t know what is? Damn you Katie for ruining this night.  £250

Oh shit, I don’t want people to find out about bae AKA the affair continues

The Hitman - If you think I googled “how much does a hitman cost” you’d be right? Are the police going to break down my door in the middle of the night and arrest me? Probably. This plot is ridiculous let’s not dwell on it. £20,000 I guess

Cain’s blackmail - What started as Robert using the ridiculously random Cain & Chrissie kiss to blackmail Cain completely backfired, no thanks to Aaron who outed him and their affair. Not cool Aaron, not cool. So now the blackmailer is being blackmailed. But the lesson is never cross Cain Dingle or you’ll be paying for Vadam’s honeymoon £5000, The grain pit at Butlers  £15,000 and a holiday for Coira £2000.

Trying to do right by bae AKA the abuse sl

Sandra’s address - One day we’ll find out how Robert got all these dodgy contacts but for now I’ll just assume he used a PI. By finding Sandra’s address we got rejected park bench kiss, lake side declarations and Rob reunited Aaron with his long lost sister and gave us all Roblivion….Also my search history is getting interesting right now. £300

Bribing Ryan - What to do if you want to see justice done, Gordon locked up for his horrific crimes & your future mum in law is pestering you to make sure he gets sent down. If you’re Robert Sugden you bribe a local teen to lie about also being abused. Oh Robert, your heart was in the right place. The only hint at how much he paid Ryan was that it was the same amount as a fancy watch, so £5000

Bonus Bribing Ryan again - Leave my family alone, we never hear from you again + here have a delicious hummus and coriander sandwich. Mwahaha I’m an evil genius.  Never change Rob. £104.50

How can I prove to bae I love him AKA no one else comes close

Barcelona -  The first cancelled holiday and the the start of the Robron chill *cries*. Rob just wanted to celebrate his 30th birthday and spend some time with Aaron & be proper boyfriends and it’s beautiful. Flights + 2 nights in Barcelona £1000

France - The second cancelled holiday.  Robert being playful murmuring into his kiss with Aaron was the stuff of dreams. God bless you Maxine. Also i can kinda forgive Liv for ruining this holiday cause it gave us the quality content of Rob dangling from a tree. 2.5 weeks in Calais, hotel only £1400

Engagement ring - I would’ve paid money to to see the scene of Robert at the jewellers, being sassy to the sales assistant, demanding the best for the man he loves. I think I found a very similar platinum ring and as Vic days “it’s perfect” so can Aaron hurry up and put it back on his finger £2695

Las Vegas - The third cancelled holiday.  First class flights, limo from the airport, helicopter over the Grand Canyon, Cirque du Soleil tickets, the works. Do you know how expensive first class tickets are? But Aaron deserved this big romantic gesture. I’m assuming they were staying for 5 nights + I gave him a 25% discount courtesy of Rebecca’s mate £11,250

The wedding - So perfect, so them, but as far as weddings go this was done on the cheap. Free venue. Free Decorations. Only thing paid for would have been finger food and drinks and we know the Dingles love a free drink so let’s say £1000

Appealing Aaron’s sentence - Robs face when he found out Aaron got 12 months breaks my heart every time, he was so determined to free his husband. A decent barrister is £300 per hour and it took 3 weeks for the appeal to come through. If only you worked a little faster unseen barrister person we may not be stuck in this hell plot £10,000

The Mill renovations - This includes fixing the damn dry rot I had to listen to Rakesh moan on about for months, the fire damage, doors without handles & drawers pure white, posh appliances, the Vespa chair and all the questionable artwork. I didn’t include flat 2 cause we don’t now what the deal is with that.   Let’s be real though Robert has great taste and the Mill is the best house in the village. £80,000

5 week honeymoon to Mauritius - Seriously Emmerdale now you let them go on a holiday? After Rob has cheated and Rebecca is pregnant and nobody actually wants them to go because we all just want Aaron to learn the truth as soon as possible. Yeah, fuck you Emmerdale, fuck you.  Flights + airbnb accommodation £4200

I’ve been an idiot, please don’t tell bae AKA the hell plot

Full disclosure this is the part where i become bitter at the writing regarding Robert’s money.

Ross’ blackmail -  Ugh, just ugh at this whole plot point. In the end Robert only gave Ross half of of what he was blackmailed for and then crushed his taxi and destroyed his weed as payback so at least there’s that £2500

Mill Chairs - So this was the ep Aaron listed all the things Robert didn’t spend his money on ignoring basically everything i have listed above that he did spend it on. I mean Aaron didn’t want the chairs at the time but he sure seems to enjoy them now (see, told you i was bitter).  Also who knew ugly leather reclining chairs would be so expensive? £3500

Burnt money- Holy shit Robert just threw the briefcase into a fire barrel because Aaron told him to! I think this is what the kids call EXTRA. And the lesson is Robert loves Aaron more than money. OF COURSE HE DOES HAVE YOU BEEN PAYING ATTENTION. Lucky it was all saved (thanks cute fire extinguisher scene) except a couple of hundred . £100,000 £200

Bribing Jason - TBH I love protective Rob, his heart was in the right place (again) and let’s be real no one wanted to see Aaron hurt.  But he didn’t bribe Jason because he didn’t believe in Aaron so thanks for making this clear, it’s just THEY ARE SO IN LOVE still. WHEN ARE THEY BACK TOGETHER THE STRUGGLE IS REAL?!? £5000

GRAND TOTAL - £180,459.50

And here it is in handy excel spreadsheet converted into multiple currencies because i’m cool like that.

naekolehasposts  asked:

Dear Endling, I've been a huge fan since I saw your comics on Snafu. I'm struggling, and have been for awhile. Art is my passion, but I don't have the right education to pursue a career in it. I've been unable to find my style, and have been stuck for a year. Do you have any advice on where I can read/study to improve my skills to eventually, find my own style?

This is a question I’ve been asked a lot, but to be honest it never really gets that much easier to answer. Every artist being an individual, it’s tough to find catch-alls that work for everyone, you know what I  mean? And hell, truth be told, I’m still trying to figure this stuff out for myself. :]

Let me get this first bit out of the way, the bit nobody wants to hear: “Practice, practice, practice.” It’s the biggest, stinkiest old chestnut in the book, the one you’ve probably heard a million times before, but unfortunately, it is the most rock solid, time-tested advice any artist can swear by. Even when you feel down and out, even when things don’t look like they should. You keep on drawing, because art has a funny way of growing with you, even if you’re not aware of it.

But try different things. Some personal suggestions:

- Draw from life. Do figure studies. Your art will only go as far as the strong foundation you’ve built on. It can be arduous, but it is worth it. There is no way around this, much as many folks find this the token ‘boring’ advice.

- Look up light and color theory online. Nowadays there is a ridiculous amount of information on this subject on the internet. You could probably cobble together a near full education on the subject just from all the different people who have guides, examples, even youtube videos on the matter. It’s really amazing. There are tons of people out there trying to help young artists get on their feet, and they aren’t charging a thin dime. Take advantage of it. :]

- Warm up before you draw! Draw scribbles, cubes, shapes with some zing to them. Drawing can be a workout! So like any workout, warm up! Don’t dive right in and injure yourself. :] It’s a good way to stave off feeling discouraged because things  didn’t turn out looking brilliant right off the bat.

- Try emulating a variety of other artists’ work. (With their consent if you’re posting it somewhere of course.) Sometimes when drawing in someone else’s style your own little mannerisms and stylistic influences tend to pop up in the result. This is more a fun exercise though, certainly not something to fall back on as a means to improve. You don’t want to end up relying on the same artistic 'shortcuts’ your chosen artists employ in their own work without a firm understanding of the basics yourself.

- Draw quickly, loosely, even carelessly. Less thought, more winging it. Fly by the seat of them pants. Have fun letting go! At least, for a practice run at first. While 'style’ is at best a nebulous concept, I’ve always found that if you draw speedily, you tend to put emphasis in certain areas, sort of feel your hand moving a particular way? If you don’t let too much thought get in the way, you can sometimes see the raw tendencies you have underneath the art.

- Animation! Regarding stuff to read to improve your skills, there is no shortage of books available in places like Barnes & Noble. Entire sections on art. I recommend, personally, books on animation techniques. I was originally an animation major in college, and I think any artist can benefit greatly by studying it thoroughly.

- Draw for yourself, not for the internet. This is a more fairly recent issue I’ve been seeing with some people, but there are folks out there who get a little too attached to the reception (or lack thereof) they receive for posting their work online, or worse still, seem to only draw with the specific intent of putting things online. While it’s all well and good to share your work with other people, please please please do not forget that you are drawing for yourself. You don’t have to post everything you make. Allow yourself plenty of time to make plenty of terrible drawings. Fall flat on your face. You can share the stuff you’d like, but you don’t have to feel compelled to share everything you do.

- Art blocks and burn out will happen. Don’t sweat 'being stuck’ so much. Don’t rush getting OUT of it either. Art blocks are kind of a way of telling you you’re running on empty in one way or another. I’ve gotten asked quite often what I do to get over an art block. The answer is really simple: wait. Haha. But you find things to do that get you feeling charged up again. I like listening to music and playing games. Games are what got me into art in the first place, so it’s kind of a back-and-forth process for me. But what I’m trying to say here is, art and your life are pretty much connected in every way. If your art just doesn’t want to come out easily on the page, maybe you should find something else to do that you enjoy. Refill, recharge, re-energize, but NOT just to get over an art block. Your daily life might be more attached to your work than you realize. Which brings me to my next point..

- Don’t look so hard for 'your style’. You need to grow as much as your artwork. As I said before, style is kind of a strange subject. To most people style is simply 'how your art looks’, what sets it apart from other folks. But if you ask me, style is whatever ignites your passion to create in the first place. Style can be influenced by other art, sure, but it can also be influenced by music, games, sports, books, your background, the things you enjoy, just the person you are from the ground up. Style comes from pouring yourself into your work. And you know what? You need to grow just as much as your artwork. If you put a piece of yourself into your art, it will undoubtedly be unique, because you’re a unique person yourself. Find something you want to say and let it come out through your art.

And yes, that’s about the floweriest answer I’ve ever given on the subject of style. I guess when it comes to the subject of art I can be a sappy sap. But DAMMIT I BELIEVE IN YOU. And anyone else reading this that might have been feeling the same way! And I really appreciate the question! Hell, I’m honored, and hope in any way at all I can help, because art is a beautiful thing to have in your life, and I wish you the absolute best of luck with it.

Now DRAW. DRAAAAAAAAAW, I SAY!

anonymous asked:

In the wolf au, is Kirishima dating Denki, hanta, Mina, ect or is just kinda a wolf thing? Not that I mind either way I'm just super curious lol. Also it's so lovely, your work is so sweet.

Anon said: hello fran!! How are you? I hope you’re doing great!! sorry to bother you haha but I wanted to ask something!! So, in your wolf!kirishima comic it says that Denki’s pack and so is sero and mina, does that mean that they’re wolves shifters too?? And will we ever get to see them?? (also is there kamisero? Sorry my weak heart loves them yeet)

Ohohohohohohoho I’m glad you both asked about Kirishima’s pack cause boy do I have answers - okay first things first, Kirishima is only dating Bakugou and he’s the only wolf shifter in the pack (well, Mina is also a shifter, just not a wolf shifter)

In the AU pack dynamics are loosely based on how wolf packs work in the wild: in nature usually there’s an alpha couple (the “alpha male” and his mate) and the rest of the pack is made out of their pups! So by all means it’s just a family unit - once the pups are old enough to fend for themselves they leave the “pack” to form their own family - they’re social animals, so they need a pack to be happy and safe, and that reflects in the AU too. In this universe though it’s pretty normal for wolf shifters to date/marry non-shifters or shifters of other kinds, and when that happens the resulting kids might or might not have shifting abilities, which results in the process of forming a pack being a bit all over the place

In Kirishima’s case, he was born by two non-shifters who had shifter blood in them - as a wolf shifter his wolf side needed a pack to feel well (let’s say, other wolves to play with and learn from and so on) so as a kid he used to spend a lot of time with Fat and Amajiki (both wolf shifters!) who acted as a surrogate pack for the wolf in him - now he’s old enough to have his own pack tho! And while ideally that would mean he builds his own family with another wolf shifter, he ended up falling for Bakugou, who’s a non-shifter and a man, which means the family plan sorta went down the drain. His wolf still needs a pack to be happy tho, and that ended up meaning he latched onto Mina (a childhood friend) and Kaminari and Sero (Bakugou’s close friends) who by this point are as close to him as if they were actual family.

So in theory Kirishima’s wolf side sees the pack as himself and Bakugou as the alpha couple and Mina, Sero and Kaminari as the “pups” - practically though Kirishima’s human side has a perfect grasp on his wolf’s instincts, so all in all it ends up just being five pals loving each other like family, no power imbalance at all (…he does get clingy after his pack members spend time with people outside of the pack, but he doesn’t ever try to stop them from socializing outside of the group and cuddles and general close proximity are all he needs to make his wolf feel better!)

…as you can see, I spent more time on this AU than strictly necessary haha

Hello! I'm a new artist here and I saw your art and absolutely fell in love! your art style is so calming and idk it just makes me happy. also, do you have any tips on how to run an art account? i'm still pretty new to all this. thanks, and have a good day~ :)

Oh my gosh, hello! That’s such a kind thing to say, thank you so much, you’re so sweet!

That’s so awesome you decided to make an art blog! Welcome, friend! As for running an art account, I kind of have a few bits of advice! I ultimately believe it’s how you want to experience and run your own blog, and there’s no ‘correct’ way to run an art blog, but I can still offer some info based on my own experiences! (Other people may have different ones!) These are mostly from my experience running a fanart blog and it might be different with original art or other types of art?

1. Watermark or sign your work! You already do that so you’re ahead of me, and I know this is so obvious but it took me about a year and a half on this blog to realize the importance of it! From reposting, to lessening likelihood of art theft, it is a small thing that shouldn’t be overlooked. I initially never did it because I didn’t believe my work was worth watermarking, but I learned that doesn’t matter, if it’s yours, your name should be on it!

2. Have a tagging/organizing system! This is fairly self-explanatory, but it’s helpful to me (especially if you post a lot of stuff that isn’t your art) to have a tag just for your artwork? And tagging by fandom/content can be extra helpful too, because it appears in the main tag and more people are likely to see your work. And then one for asks/replies - sometimes if you get repeated/similar questions you can find things a lot easier!

3. Art-only blogs: I notice two main types of art blogs - those who only post their art on them, and others who reblog other things but also post their art - often they have an art-only blog as well, where they reblog from their original post. There’s no better way to do this, but observing just from other people, those that also reblog other peoples’ things tend to be more active/gain followers or people meeting them more quickly? But then their art blog is there for people who just want to follow for the content they create.
Mine is a my-art-only blog for the most part, initially it served as an archive of sorts, but started to grow a bit! It’s a more comfortable choice for me, so there’s no right or wrong way to do this!

4. Interaction: Try talking to other artists - its a lot easier meeting in fandom spaces because you already have some things in common to talk about! But even before, when I was in the Sherlock fandom, I met a lot of watercolor artists (I did only watercolors back then). It’s really nice to have some art friends because you can cry over each others art and motivate and advise one another. I found a lot of motivation and encouragement from my art friends drove me to continue where I would usually just stop making art by now.

5. Try not to compare yourself to others: Online especially, it is almost inevitable you will end up doing this at some point, and while its fine to use comparison as motivation to continue/inspiration, doing it obsessively can do more harm than good. I read tags on my work sometimes where people say things along the lines of “I won’t ever be as good as this” or “throwing my art away/burning it etc right now” and it makes me sad because everyone is learning at their own pace, and I don’t believe works have more value over another. This is something I’m really ‘passionate’ about because I fall into this trap way too much and have to talk myself out of it (again, having art friends help a lot too).

6. Having an art blog should be a good experience! It’s a wonderful thing to have, to every artist out there, they are sharing a part of themselves and stuff they worked hard on, and that’s such an amazing thing! It’s brave for you to put your stuff out there! But also yourself and your wellbeing come first, and I know some people can get into negative spins or a lot of stress over their work. I see this in artists who are starting out, as well as those who have had blogs for years. Know it’s always okay to take breaks/hiatuses and whatever you need, it’s okay to ask for help and advice, you have to do what is best for you.

I feel like this is getting long, but it was really interesting to talk about! I’m still growing and learning as an art blog! In short, it’s ultimately about what you are comfortable showing/doing, and running an art blog should be a good experience. Your work is so beautiful by the way! You have a great eye for color! It’s so awesome you have started an art blog, and I hope you will continue to share your work, I look forward to seeing more of it!

Dear former fromanotherroom followers:

Yes, fromanotherroom has been wiped from tumblr. No, I didn’t deactivate. On July 25th, I was trying to scroll through the app, when it suddenly stopped working (with a very helpful message “it did not work”). I figured the app was just acting up as it does, so I tried to log in through my computer.

“Your account has been terminated.”

I rushed to check my email, and it was as I feared. The blog was terminated due to alleged copyright infringement. I sent a couple tickets to staff, with no response whatsoever. Someone must have filed complaints against me, or I’m simply another subject of copyright holders being huge jerks. Either way, it’s disappointing, and I’m still a little in shock. That said, I understand why it happened.

Is it fair? I don’t really know. It doesn’t matter because I was dumb enough to keep the blog attached to my main blog, so that’s all gone too. Nearly 6 years worth of posts, reblogs, uploaded artwork, etc.

It should go without saying, but no more requests will be taken. At all. Ever. At least, not until I can find a secure place to upload them. I can’t put myself in that position again. I’m afraid that if I piss them off a second time, they’ll track me through other means (eg. my IP) and block me from the site completely. I haven’t heard of it happening, and it probably sounds paranoid, but I don’t wanna take the risk.

A warning to blogs that have been inspired by fromanotherroom:

I can’t and I won’t tell you guys what to do, but please consider that this stuff has repercussions. At the least, you should take precautions: back up your stuff, do not attach your music blogs to your main blogs, and check your email regularly. The biggest regret I have is not checking my email thoroughly, or I would have caught the warning signs and I would have had the chance to save my blogs. The emails that Tumblr will send you, should you be accused of infringement, often end up somewhere you can’t see them or some place you don’t check very often. tldr; be vigilant, staff is legally obliged to delete you over something like this and you will not get your blog OR url back.

Final note:

It was a very good three months, and I sincerely thank everyone who was there to make it as popular as it was. Because of you guys, basically every single post on that blog is still around simply because they’ve been reblogged so much. Yes, all the audio posts still work, if you can find them.

Anyway, I’d just broken through 60,000 followers, which is insane because I never even imagined a person could accrue that many followers unless they had a bot doing it for them. Unfortunately, I believe it was this popularity that also drew negative attention to the blog.

I’ve kept the askbox open, but only so people can send messages and ask questions. If anyone knows of a place where I can safely upload my edits, let me know. I’ve resurrected my main blog as well. If you want the url to that, message me.

kiwipatooey-21-deactivated20170  asked:

How do you develop an original style? How do you copy other artists style and mix them to create your very own style? Do you copy what you like from the artist's style or draw the whole artwork?

I’m not really sure, much of my learning to draw didn’t involve the conscious decision to assimilate someone’s art. It was something that just happened when I was a kid. I used to copy artwork that I liked of my favorite cartoons, mostly anime, simply because i found it appealing and i just had a strange urge to do it for myself to see if I could, so that I could draw the characters on my own without looking at the source. It becoming part of my art style wasn’t something I realized until later when I tried drawing my own characters. I did this so much growing up because I’ve been drawing since I was 7 and I never had a goal of developing my own style. I drew what i liked and I guess it just sort of happened, though I honestly don’t see my style like everyone else does.

What I tend to do now days is try and figure out a technique an artist uses if I like their work, rather than just copying like I did as a kid. Like when I was getting into digital art, it took me a very long time to figure out how to paint and color digitally because i had to experiment and try many different ways to get my art to look the way i wanted it to, like the digital art I was inspired by. But because of the years I spent trying different things, my version has my own touch to it. Actually, trying to figure out the technique on your own is one of the best ways to take inspiration from another work without copying it, because you will find your own way to make it look the way you want and your method will most likely be different than your source.

While we are on the subject, I just want to point out, there tends to be a stigma among the art community online about imitating other people’s styles. But that is honestly how other artists grow. They learn from others, get inspired, and try to figure out how they did something so they can try it out in their own work. And that should never stop. You should never say, “I have my own style now, I don’t need to study someone else’s work ever again.” That’s how you stop growing as an artist. And if you are reading this and you get offended at someone else taking inspiration from your work, well, to put it bluntly, you might want to remove your head from your ass. You are not the first artist to do whatever unique thing it is you think you do, and you will not be the last.

I’m not that old, but things have changed since I was a kid and there are plenty of places for kids to get praise online for their art, including the stuff they may have copied. I guess I was fortunate enough to not have such open access to the internet as a kid otherwise I may have sought validation from the www for the work I copied too when I was 9. I just want to point out, there is nothing wrong with copying art you admire to see if you can in your own time, as long as you do not post it and claim it as yours. I’ve seen kids do this with some of my art, and I honestly do not mind, because I get it, as long as credit is given.

@ruleofexception - I wanna say she is our FASTEST writer, throwing out some amazing fics within a day and cutting through ALL the BS!

@thelionshoarde - Oh myyyyy… how do I wrap this one up? You’ve gone some delicious canon-esque smut with feels and some fantastical AU’s to choose from. Please enjoy with my blessing :3

ARTISTS (also in alphabetical order and some of these will be repeats):

@goldenrose101 - My friend. You must. YOU MUST view their obiyuki comic. And then love it. IT IS A REQUIREMENT

@heartamplifier - Again. Some amazing. Amazing. AMAZING. edits and manips. I love her <3

@lalesath - F A N T A S T IC and G O R G E O U S edits! SO MANY OF THEM.

@miinah13 - Just adore their drawings BUT BE CAREFUL! SHE HAS A SERIES THAT MAKES ME CRY BIG FAT UGLY TEARS but you should totally check out anyway <3

@nebluus - You may notice that she is listed twice. THAT IS BECAUSE SHE IS AMAZING. Search her ansh tag for Akagami no Shirayukihime art.

@nonstopdoodle - YES. SHE ALSO DOES THE ART!

@stuffaeamade - My goodness gracious, she has the MOST impressive tag for AnS art. I HIGHLY recommend.

@thelionshoarde - YES YET ANOTHER AUTHOR THAT ALSO DOES THE ART!

@vfordii - Oh my… I absolutely love everything that she does, but my top two have GOT to be Obiyuki Kiss and Bellydancer Obi. (I’m sure she will convince me that there are more delicious arts waiting in her brain to be posted, BUT I LOVE THOSE THE MOST NOW <3 )

@youseimanami - One of our newest and (hands down) most prolific artist (she just completed Inktober and did 31 DAYS OF OBI/OBIYUKI CONTENT. GO LOOK AT THE MAGNIFICENCE. GO GO!) and is a very sweet and encouraging person.

@yumelinh - I absolutely adore the way she does her edits and colors our favorite characters. They are fantastic.

Special mention to @akagami-no-rae because, while she is not obiyuki, she likes hanging out with us and graces us with Hnnnng-worthy AMV’s, edits, and artwork! (occasionally a fic, too <3 )

Commission showcase!

As many of you know, one of my favourite things to do in the fandom is commission artists, why? Well one is to support artists, the other is because I’m always taken by the incredible artwork they create!

So in total I’ve commissioned just about & artists, though I plan to do more after the semester starts, each were asked to do one of two pieces:

1. A personal piece of my Zoosona (an arctic wolf, usually in jeans and a black shirt)

Or

2. Both mine and my GFs fursonas (arctic wolf and white bunny with a hijab) but so far I’ve only asked two people to do this, well three but he’s making that one still!

My goal, to show the amazing artists and in sense to do one huge boost! I’ll also rate the cost of the art by “$” though not giving the exact amount and excluding tip. Essentially the more “$” the higher the cost!

1. @andyourteeth -$$

Andyourteeth was my first commission and it’s safe to say she was the one who got me hooked on buying commission pieces! She was suggested to me by fox-comics, needless to say I'm glad he did! Her prices were less than deserved for her talent, but for a first time buyer I wasn’t going to complain!

2. @ziegelzeig-$$

Zieg was my second commission, after seeing the many pictures of Crewes amazing story, I had to inquire about my own piece! My highlight is how detailed and honestly badass my fursona looked, one could relate the artistic style to that of a comic book designer with its incredible detail and colour cordication! A little added piece that I love is the iPhone screen, it’s literally from an iPhone! I don’t know if he drew it or added it as a bonus bit but I love it none the less! Zieg is kindly working on my second commission piece which I will present later!

3. @rkaoril-$$$

Following the same request (black shirt, jeans, phone, headphones) I was intrigued buy rkaoril’s style and wanted to see what the final product would look like! Everything that I requested was put into the piece so needless to say it hit my expectations!

@feedthehungrykitty-$$$$

One of my more expensive pieces but well worth the money. This is a more recent piece, requested to feedthehungrykitty…words STILL can’t discribe how I feel about this! It was the first time I had asked for a piece with both my GF and i in it and the results were beyond my expectations! They surpassed everything I had hoped! The details, the background, our outfits and fursonas, everything was and still is perfect!

@fuzzywuzzylittletail-$ then $$

This was a case where I couldn’t help  myself. While on vacation I finally saw her post in regards to her commissions and right away I knew I had to buy one. And let me tell you something, I have never met a more energetic,  polite and kind person in my life! She was by far one of the friendliest people I have ever met in this fandom and her incredible kindness is only matched by her incredible artistic talent!  When I first asked, she later game me two options… needless to say I bought them both! I couldn’t decide which one is better and even now I still can’t! Like Andyourteeth, she was recommended to me by Fox-comics  and again I am very happy he, afterwards to send her a little thank you video while he and I were on vacation together! She’s an incredible artist who got the joy and happiness to me and my girlfriend have perfectly primarily the fact that she is always annoying me 😁 The art alone though is very unique because I find it portrays myself more animalisticly, it’s a primary reason why I am drawn to it!

5. @cyberamethyst-$$$

This is my more recent purchase to say the least! When I first seen the final piece my mouth was wide and I was speechless! I had no clue how this piece was going to look and was sitting at the edge of my seat waiting! Their smooth lines and balanced colour is easily matched with the additional details into this piece. From the expression on his face, to the twirling on the cord in his paw, even the blonde tip (which is now white), every little bit that’s me is in there!p and all fantastically drawn!

I currently have two more artist working on a few commissions, and one previous artist as well. These are the ones I’ve been able to see and work with and each one has been polite, kind and delivered nothing but their best! To each of these artists I say thank you for your time and fabulous service!

Museum (Husband!Taehyung)

Plot: Spending a special day with husband!Taehyung (part of the One Day series)

Word Count: 1116

A/N: again, my heart goes out to everyone effected in this past day or two, I hope that maybe some Tae fluff will help make your day a bit better bc I know that BTS has helped cheer me up so much so many different times and I hope that everyone stays safe and healthy. So this series is basically about when BTS get really really busy and don’t have much free time and what would happen once they got a day off, where they would go, what they would do, stuff like that, the link for this is honeymooning with Tae (here) which is part of the marriage series, the proposal is here, the wedding is here and Tae as a husband is here but this post is gonna focus on the actual honeymoon

His hand was held tight in yours, the cool touch of his wedding band reminding you that he wasn’t just your boyfriend anymore. His voice occasionally mumbled something to you, something about the artwork in front of you. There was a look of serenity on his face, a content smile, a look of wonder in his eyes. The paintings and sculptures were beautiful but you couldn’t take your eyes off of him.

Yet, that’s what you had said last time. And the time before that.
And just like all the times before; you found yourself right back in the same situation.

The extent of reposting

You’ve been warned

This will be a really long post, and I’ll be addressing one account in particular, but will be referring to multiple accounts along the way. This is just a small, tiny part of the reposting community, and if you’re an artist who wants to protect their art, please continue reading as I will be showing proof that, reposters do not win. This is your art, your creation. Not theirs.

Let’s say hello to this person:

APRIL’S UNITY DAYS WRITE UP

Day 2 (January 14th) Part 2:

After lunch with #Bactus:

it was time to go handle other business. We split up here, with some of going to the Costume Panel and others going for autographs, unfortunately the costume panel with Wendy Biscuit was cancelled with no notice and the autograph lines were horrendous so we wound up just charging our phones and chatting for a bit until the Delinquent Panel, which featured Eliza, Bob, Chris, Richard, Jarod, Chelsey and Katie (Lindsey was supposed to be on the panel, but she was still not at the even yet).

I was actually a bit late to the Delinquent Panel because I had my Bob photo op pictured here:

He’s a genuine sweetheart guys. Like, he remembered my name from the quick meeting we had at the panel in the morning, said he liked my hair, and asked if I’d eaten (he smells like mint-he was eating one-and super clean laundry, btw), before saying he had. When he asked how I wanted us to pose, I just asked for a hug and he said “Of course!!” He gave me a real hug first and then we did the side hug for the photo.

Then I joined the other gals in waiting for another Bob photo op, because Jen had two. After Gina, Sam and Jen took their individual ops, we all ran back for a group, which made Bob really smile, he was super surprised:

We finally made it to the Delinquent Panel and here’s the relevant info I gathered from there:

Everyone got their Custom Funko Pops, they were all super pleased (Sachin cat called from the audience because he didn’t get one).

They talked about their character’s ages, with Bob pointing out Bellamy isn’t really a Delinquent, Bob said Bellamy is about 24) so he must have had a birthday on the ground, same as Clarke.

This is Harper’s biggest Season thus far (which makes sense because she’s finally a series regular).

Clark says that the Jonty high five in the trailer is a good indicator of the promise for Jonty this Season.

Bob said Bellamy thinks Octavia is responsible for Monroe’s death (which I agree with.)

When asked why they sided with Pike, Monty said it was for his mother (which I’ve always thought, so good to have that confirmed!). Jarod (who was anti-Pike) said it was because Pike was a Brother (another black man) and that the others wouldn’t understand.) Someone reminded him he was anti-Pike, it was funny.

Jarod said he gets nervous working with Bob because he respects his ability as an actor so much.

Murphy had a lot of respect for Pike by the end of the Season, Richard loves Murphy’s relentlessness.

Clarke’s emotional side comes from Jake, while Abby is where she gets her diplomatic/political stuff from.

They all joked about being chipped or “chip-faced”.

Eliza said Monty is her all time favorite character on the show.

When asked which other show they’d like to be on: Eliza said Broad City, Bob said Black Mirror (everyone cheered), Chelsey said Homeland.

Richard said he thinks Murphy and Bellamy are back to some semblance of mistake and Bob made like…a “sure, Jan” noise.

Season 4 has a huge power imbalance, with no real Chancellor or Commander and so the power shift is tumultuous.

There will be a mutual respect between the Delinquents and the adults because they all have to collectively come together.

END DELINQUENT PANEL HIGHLIGHTS:

After the Panel was over, I had a few more photo ops scheduled, so I took care of those:

The Bad Boys op with Jarod, Bob and Richard. Sachin snorted when he heard their op was called “The Bad Boys”, lol:

I asked them to do a Charlie’s Angel pose, with me as Charlie, presenting my angels. Bob still looks too innocent (He can’t help it), but Richard’s face is perf!

I also squeezed in my Jarod Joseph photo op, I wanted to do the “Unfriendly Black Hotties” thing-Jarod, nailed it, me-unsure:

I missed the Camp Jaha Panel, because I was given a random free Meet and Greet with Luisa d’Oliveira.

Luisa is the sweetest, she started off by asking everyone where we were from (and remembered every place). She was so genuine guys. She doesn’t seem to realize that people actual like her outside of the Memori relationship.

@adancergirl did a thorough write up of this, so I’m linking that here:

END OF LUISA MEET AND GREET SUMMARY

Then I shot over to get my Photo Op with Lindsey “Actual Angel” Morgan done:

After that was done it was time for the Grounder/Mt. Weather Panel which featured Chris, Jarod, Chelsey, Tasya, Luisa and Jessica.

Chris was late and walked on to the stage looking like a hipster college student. (He wears a backpack everywhere guys and he always has his hood up, it’s adorbs).

Tasya confirmed that Echo is a royal guard for the Ice Nation and said there will be more Becho interaction this Season. Bellamy is the only Arkadian that Echo trusts (although we don’t know if that sentiment is returned-I expect to see some tension here!)

Jessica said it’s pretty obvious when you start watching Season 4 where Niylah’s allegiance lies. She’s super funny, btw.

Chris is so deadpan guys. Like, his humor is out of this world. I love it.

My favorite Chris quote was: “When Jarod’s hand was on my knee in episode 210, I’ve never felt warmer.”

He asked how many people shipped Minty by show of hands (and then Marper). It was about even and Chelsey raised her hand for both options.

Chris wanted a photo of the audience but he doesn’t have a smart phone (according to Jessica it’s a flip phone) and so he took out an Old School  disposable camera that he’d just bought from London Drugs and took a picture of one side of the crowd, forgot to roll the film forward, so had to pause and do it, and then the other side. Jarod shook his head and laughed.

When asked which character they’d like to play other than their own everyone but Jarod said Bellamy. Jarod said Monty, because he’s like a cat-to which Chris replied “What?”

Marper was organic and not planned at all. They often didn’t have lines in Season 2, but were told to do things in the background, so Chris and Chelsey discussed what they would do in the situation if this was real (after Harper has her butt drilled) and Chris said “Well, we’re friends, so I’d try to make you feel better” and this is where the cup scene originates.

Chelsey said they kept improvising those little scenes in the background and eventually the writer’s must have picked up on it and actually made Marper canon.

Chris closed the panel with the following: He asked how many people had ever been in a breakup that was so bad that you thought you’d never love again, lots of people raised their hands, including all of the cast and then he said:

“Monty and Harper are at a position where they are super excited and super terrified because they are starting something new and they’re sharing so much with each other so when that person leaves you it can be soul destroying. Welcome to Unity Days.”

Everyone cracked up and that was the end of that panel.

END OF GROUNDER/MT. WEATHER PANEL SUMMARY

Then  I ran up to get my final two autographs of the day, both from Bob. I gave him #Bactus and a handwritten card first, he smiled super big when I gave him Bactus and he and his manager both laughed when I explained it’s name, he said that was clever.

I asked him to sign my “Bellamy Blake Protection Squad Shirt” with @indygoh‘s art on it:

and the postcard I won in the Cancer Gets LOST silent auction. He loved the BBPS shirt and said, sometimes Bellamy needs some backup and he and his manager said that the postcard’s artwork was cute. While I was leaving, he said “Thanks for Bactus, April.”

And I died on the inside because he remembered my name from hours before.

After the Convention closed for the evening, everyone gathered in my room and we had an impromptu pizza party where we just in person meta’d (and I got teary about Lincoln-which was super embarrassing) and it was such a great night, because talking in person is always so much easier than online.

We hung out pretty late, until most of us were sleepy and then parted ways to get ready for Unity Days Part 3.

anonymous asked:

also, what is drawing so much every day like for you? Like what do you practice/ how do you think of what to draw? I just cleared out my summer to spend lots of time on my art and I find myself kind of lost. Sorry for all the questions ^^;;;

Hey anon! This is a pretty expansive question so prepare for a long reply.

What is drawing so much every day like for you?

I’m going to disclaim here that this is about my personal practice and is my own opinion. Everyone is different and your mileage may vary.

Art is my job, so I treat it as such. It’s a fun job which I’d rather do more than anything else, but it’s still a job, and I need to work hard at it. So at minimum, I’m trying to do 9-5 (a normal full time work shift) every day, making an 8 hour work day. Weekends included. Realistically, this ends up being more like 10-12 hours so that I have time to sketch and doodle personal stuff as well. I do this because it’s what I love, and I’d rather do art than watch TV, play games, etc. Of that, maybe 10% of the art I do actually ends up being shown to anyone/posted online (other than in my online sketchbooks which I sometimes update).

This isn’t what everyone wants to do, and art can be rewarding on many different levels, whether you draw half an hour a month or a few hours a day around your day job. But that’s what it is for me.

When I was starting out, I split my time in half with doing studies and doing imaginative work. So in an 8 hour day, that’s about 4 hours on each, which suddenly seems a lot less daunting than drawing for 8 hours straight. Nowadays professional work takes up a lot more of my time, so I have less time to study/paint personal work, but that’s a pretty different topic so I won’t cover that here.

Studying

In order to improve at anything, you need to learn your fundamental principles and train yourself. Think of this like you’re an athlete - you spend maybe 10% of your time competing, but the other 90% of your time is spent training. If you only ever did the competing, you’d never get anywhere - you need to build those muscles first! When you’re starting out, I’d recommend spending about 50% of your art time studying and about 50% applying those studies in imaginative sketches.

Anthony Jones has a really great video about studying here which I highly recommend.

The great part about studies is that you don’t need to be “inspired” to do them. It’s all about the learning process. So even if you’re not in an “art mood”, studies can help get that out of your system and inspire you to make your own work, as well as helping you improve.

What do I study?

Life drawing and painting is pretty much acknowledged to be the best way to study drawing. Try to go to local life drawing classes, or failing that just draw your own face, hands, feet, etc, or anyone who will sit still for you. Or even if they won’t ; )

Here’s a self portrait from last year, and a life drawing and painting that took a couple of hours, along with some hands which I think were about 5 minutes each. If you have a good life drawing instructor they’ll help you improve and give advice. Try to vary your lighting, subject matter and the length of time you spend on pieces - we do everything from 2 minute gestural drawings to hours-long poses in our life drawing classes. Jana Schirmer is great inspiration for life paintings.

Your fundamentals are equally important. This means studying the concepts of anatomy, light, perspective, composition and form, among other things. I do a variety of stuff but most of it is basic practice and studies from books.

I highly recommend studying from the following books for starting out:

Anatomy/Figure Drawing:

Michael Hampton’s Figure Drawing Design and Invention

Bridgman’s Guide to Drawing from Life

Vilpuu’s Drawing Manual

Loomis’ Figure Drawing for All It’s Worth

Perspective:

Scott Robertson’s How to Draw

Colour and Light:

James Gurney’s Colour and Light

Lastly, studies from master paintings and photographs.

The important thing with all your studies, but particularly those of other paintings and photographs, is that you are not copying but rather observing and learning from your subject matter. I like to focus on one or two things in a painting or photograph and analyse it - the colour palette, lighting, composition or material rendering, for example.

If you are going to do studies of paintings, do them from established masters. These (on the left) are from Winterhalter and Rubens. Studying from photographs (and film stills) can be helpful for mood, lighting and tone that you wouldn’t see in painting from life. You should avoid tracing (though do measure and check your study against the original), and colour picking (though again, you can colour pick to check your own colours against the original). In general, try to treat a photo or painting you are studying from as if you were studying from life.

How do I think of what to draw?

Now we come to the other 50% of the time.

My general advice is: draw what you want to draw, especially when you’re starting out. There’s no faster way to lose motivation than drawing things you have no interest in. You should try to push just a little outside of your comfort zone bit by bit. That’s where studies come in - realise that you’re bad at something, and study until you’re better, then apply your studies to your artwork.

I draw things because I want to bring a certain idea to life. This idea can be triggered by anything, from a moment in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign,  a shot in a film, a flash of colour in a bird flying by or an interesting piece of information in a book. Sometimes you won’t even really know where an idea came from. Inspiration comes from everything you observe or consume in your life, and this will shape what you want to draw.

The study process and the imaginative process are interlinked. I have a huge folder of images I find inspirational or appealing/helpful in some way, varying from fashion, other artworks, compositional film shots, anatomical poses, lighting, pictures of animals, master paintings etc. Try to gather things you like in one place, whether that be a Tumblr, a pinterest, or just a big ol’ folder on your hard drive. When I was younger, I’d print out things that I liked and stick them on my wall. I still do that, but I’ve run out of wall.

You should be inspiring yourself by studying the things you like, and then apply them in your own drawings. Deconstruct why you like it, and how you can use it in your own work. Sketch a lot - you don’t have to finish everything you start! Try to take some pieces through to completion, but don’t be afraid to abandon something if it’s not working (do try to figure out WHY it’s not working, though).

In addition to studying, use reference. I like to think of using reference as a shortcut around studying that you can use in a pinch. Not sure how to render satin and you’ve got a client piece to get in tomorrow? Get a reference - then after you’ve finished the piece, do some studies of it then see if you can draw it from imagination.

Don’t neglect your health.

Being an artist is hard and can be punishing to both your physical and mental health. Please look after yourself. Here’s some things I think are important.

  • Try not to compare yourself to other artists in a derogatory way. Yes, take inspiration, but don’t beat yourself up because you’re not as good or don’t have that style. Everything comes in time.
  • Try to avoid jealousy and envy of other artists. Likewise, if you find yourself doing well, try not to be egotistical in comparing yourself to others. I find that just talking to artists helps with this - drop your favourite artists an ask or an email. Even if they don’t have time to reply, it’s usually a pleasant experience for both parties.
  • You need a bit of overconfidence to keep your motivation up, and a lot of self criticism to make sure you don’t stagnate. Try to keep both in equal measure.
  • 90% of the time your art won’t be good enough to you. This is normal. Keep going.
  • The other 10% that you like, you probably won’t like in a few months time. So just keep making more!
  • Get critique. Take critique well (don’t take it personally). Critique will help you improve. Critique is also subjective, so take it with a grain of salt.
  • Keep yourself in good shape physically - make time to eat well, exercise, and sleep, as well as watching out for your posture in your chair and the health of your wrists. This is incredibly important.
  • Don’t let art have a negative impact on your mental health. Some of the points I’ve mentioned cover this already but also: make time to socialise and relax. Only do as much as you can. Have some other hobbies. Try being part of an art community - posting art online and receiving feedback can be both motivating and comforting.
  • Be proud of yourself. You deserve it.

When I was around seven, I once cried because my friend was better at drawing Sonic than I was, and I was so sad because I didn’t think I could ever draw Sonic as well as he did.

When I was ten, I was always jealous of my best friend’s art. Everyone regarded us two as the best artists in the class, but she always got more attention for being an amazing artist. I was so jealous, in such a sad way, because I didn’t think I’d ever be able to live up to her.

As a teenager, I began using the internet. I’d find so many amazing artists on deviantART and Youtube, and I’d always get this pit in my stomach. I got discouraged. There was no way I could ever be as good as them, so why bother? The number of times I tried to quit drawing is ridiculous, but I always picked it up again because I loved it. But I was always envious of my artist friends, they seemed to improve so much faster than I did when they’d been drawing for only a couple years as opposed to me, who spent my entire life drawing.

I couldn’t accept compliments for the life of me. I couldn’t understand that someone thought my art was good. There was always so much doubt when people said things like “This is amazing!”, or “You’re so talented!”. I couldn’t believe them. If I replied at all, it would always have a bit of that ‘it’s really not that good…’

But these days, at twenty one… I suddenly noticed I don’t feel those kinds of things anymore. It wasn’t a conscious decision, all of a sudden I realized that the jealousy turned into admiration. I’d see amazing artwork and be inspired. Seeing my artist friends grow and improve makes me so proud, no matter how quickly or slowly it happens. I stopped comparing myself to other artists, I admired their skill and did my best to improve mine. I don’t know if it’s a part of growing up, but… I can actually feel pride in my art now.

For some reason this has been on my mind for a while. I dunno, if you’re a youngin’ and do a lot of drawing, don’t give it up just because you think you suck. Everyone grows at their own pace, but you’ll never get better if you quit. Drawing is supposed to be FUN, it’s not a competition to see who can get better faster. There’s definitely no problem with wanting to improve, there’s so many places you can look up references and studies! But there’s also nothing wrong with just drawing because you like it.

I understand being insecure. I understand the discouragement and jealousy. Don’t let it win, don’t stop drawing. Draw your self-insert OCs, use bright colors if you want, get frustrated with backgrounds, draw your favorite characters over and over again. Whatever you want. Just draw.

I guess I just wish people told me this kinda stuff when I was growing up.

Korn: A Beginner’s Guide

So I’m not sure how many fans here are newer fans, but in my opinion, whether you’re new or have been a fan since the very beginning it’s always nice to learn and see how far the guys have come.  So here’s a rundown of Korn’s history.  It’s probably going to be long as fuck :)

Munky and Fieldy were in a band called L.A.P.D. which David Silveria (at age 16) joined.  They released some music in that band, but not long after they broke up.  Munky recruited Head who he knew from high school to join them.  Now, if you’ve seen Who then now?  (and if you haven’t you really should) they talk about how they recruited Jonathan.  According to Head and Munky they were at this club, and just as they were about to leave they heard Jonathan singing, which caused them to stop and stay for the whole set. They were amazed by his voice, and seeked him out to try out for their band.

According to Jonathan he said he didn’t want to do it at first but he went to a psychic who pretty much told him he was stupid if he didn’t do it so he went and tired out. And the rest is history.

Now, the story of how they came up with the name Korn is interesting because I’ve heard different versions.  According to them in Who Then Now? Jonathan said he suggested Corn and they decided to change the spelling and all that.  But I’ve also seen this version where basically Jonathan tells a story he heard in Bakersfield when he was a teenager between two guys that had sex with each other.  I won’t go into details cuz they’re gross but feel free to watch the video if your curiosity is getting the best of you.

With their unique sound (at the time there was nothing like it) Korn are considered pioneers of Nu Metal. In 1994 they recorded and released their first official album KoRn which includes the songs Blind, Faget, Clown, Shoots and Ladders, and Daddy.  If you listen to Daddy all the way through you can hear Jonathan breaking down, as they decided to keep the recording going which I think adds to the emotions behind the song.

“When I was a kid, I was being abused by somebody else and I went to my parents and told them about it, and they thought I was lying and joking around. They never did shit about it. They didn’t believe it was happening to their son…. I don’t really like to talk about that song. This is as much as I’ve ever talked about it…” – Jonathan Davis on the song Daddy

Life is Peachy was released in 1996 which includes the songs No Place to Hide. A.D.I.D.A.S., and Kill You. If you watch Who then Now, you can see the band recording this album, and you can see Jonathan as he records Kill You, where it becomes emotional for him again (it’s a song about his step mother) , making the other band members tear up as well.

Follow the Leader was released in 1998, which features songs Freak on a Leash, Got the Life, and All in the Family featuring Limp Bizkit.  The album also features Ice Cube in Children of the Korn and Tre Hardson from Pharcyde in Cameltosis.  If you listen to My gift to you and fast forward after the song ends, you’ll get to hear Cheech Marin in Earache My Eye where the guys all switch instruments. This was their most successful album to date, charting at the top and winning many awards.

Korn have always been all about the fans.  During Follow the Leader they did this huge tour to promote the album, doing signings at stores to meet fans.  They also launched KornTV which documented them during the album recording process and gave fans a chance to ask questions.  For Issues, they issued an art contest where fans all over the world were able to make artwork that the band would determine would be their next album cover.  For Issues they also performed the album at length at the Apollo, being broadcasted through radio stations all around.  For Untouchables the boys did a performance that included songs from the new album. The performances was filmed and played in different theaters and later released into a DVD.

In 2005, Head announced that he would be leaving the band.

“I was addicted to methamphetamines and tried everything … rehab, stuff on the Internet, but nothing helped me kick it. I was trying on my own to quit and couldn’t do it. I wanted to die. No one knew what I was going through. I could not quit. Church was my last shot. I would sit in church high [on drugs]. I would wonder why people would go up to the front after the service. But one day it was for me. I said [to God], ‘Show me how to quit.’”

“the last year I was in the band, we were gonna kick out the bass player, Fieldy, and this guy’s girlfriend couldn’t be on this side of the stage because there were fights with another wife in the band. And obviously the drugs – it’s no secret I was into the drugs, so crazy stuff, like having to finish our blow right before we got to the border because they were gonna come check to see if we had anything.”

While away from the band Head released two books, and two albums:  one by himself and another with his band Love & Death.

In 2006 David Silveria announced that he’d be taking a hiatus from the band.  (Now I’m not very clear about what happened here because at the time I wasn’t following the band as closely so feel free to message me or make a post about what happened.  I know there was a falling out, but I’m not clear on the details.  I’m going off what Wikipedia and the internet is telling me and we know they can’t be very reliableJ)

In 2008 Ray Luzier joined the band permanently.

In 2012 Head took his daughter to the Carolina Rebellion Festival.  Head played with the guys from Red and also stopped by to say hi to the guys from Korn.  That eventually led to him playing Blind with Korn for the first time since he left the band. And well, that’s how Head came back to the band as they began the recording process for The Paradigm Shift.

Reconciliation

Alot of this info came from wiki and some from my own memory so I apologize for any mistakes :)

Can we talk about Undertale?

I love UndertaleWell…kinda… The game at least. The game was amazing. I will probably never play it again but I still loved it. I used to make a lot of Undertale art because I got into the fandom and got to be a part of many great things along meeting some really lovely people.

Now I haven’t made anything with Undertale for a while. Why? Because the fandom I used to be in evolved into something I couldn’t keep up with. I was slowly falling behind and some day I realized that I was in a whole other place than most of those I got to know. It was my own fault because I guess I was never as deep into the fandom as those around me, or managed to socialize with enough people. Even fandoms can feel lonely. My social anxiety have become really bad during the past year, which tend to make me look like/seem as if I don’t have interest in people – and if you were any of those that felt left behind by me – I’m sorry. I never lost interest, I’m just extremely shy and afraid of what people think of me and my works. Again – my own fault. One of my flaws.

What Undertale did for me was that it got me back into drawing. I have never been drawing so much or progressing as fast as now – since Undertale fanart was what got me back into art after an on-and-off hiatus caused by lack of time and inspiration, energy and a crippling depression. I tried to make people happy with my art, but no matter how many requests I filled it was never enough, not to mention that people started to steal my art and sell it on eBay. Someone even tried to steal my cosplay. Those things hurt but I thought I didn’t want to waste time fighting it so I just let it happen.

What really hurt though, was that after posting my very first few pieces of original artwork a little later on this summer, people wrote to me minutes after uploading if I had left the Undertale fandom and if “I could just draw undertale pls”. And unfortunately it kept going on. People got mad at me for turning down requests – thinking it was stupid that I didn’t just draw what they asked FOR FREE. There were some PM incidents and more art theft as well. Can’t I simply ignore these people? Well I did for the most part - but this became a daily thing..I couldn’t ignore the fact that people from the community that I loved so deeply would treat me so badly. While fighting a devastating depression I didn’t exactly take things as lightly as other might have. It just struck me with great sadness that people would be so selfish, time upon time, upon time and again.

So I guess it’s time to say goodbye.

Why? Because this fandom has become toxic to me, slowly killing every moment of joy I experienced within in. I’m backing out while I still feel love towards the original game at least. If we ever talked and had fun, then I enjoyed it – then you are not any of these selfish and childish people that ruined it for me. By ruined I mean that I almost can’t watch any fanart of Undertale anymore without cringing – it is horrible and it makes me feel like an idiot. And I don’t want to just blame other people for my situation because, hey, it happened this way, not just because of the way that they acted towards me but also because of the way I received it. This fandom has some incredible people in it but I have encountered so many childish people as well and eventually it felt like they were everywhere. I should probably have reached out and talked to someone, but I let them ruin it for me instead.

So thank you if you were ever part of this journey with me – if you sometimes just said hello because you thought I was nice and not because you wanted something from me. Thank you. And if you ever write me again, then don’t be afraid if I answer very short headed of anything in that regard – I’m just extremely scared of what you might be thinking of me, and my way to deal with that is to pull away completely from people – making everything even worse. I probably stalked your blog even more than you thought I did because I really liked you guys.

Thank you again for the time – I had fun too.

With that said I will start working on some personal projects. I will never say that this time in the fandom was for nothing because I did actually manage to get friends. I’m just posting my own stuff now (at least until I am struck with a new fandom) and if you don’t want to be a part of that then thank you for the time you were here ❤ If you want to stay and see what I’m going to do with my art now, I will be very happy to have you tag along on this journey~!

Remember that I don’t bite - I’m just extremely shy and introvert.

I meant to post about this much sooner than I actually did, but….. well…. I didn’t.

I got to do the character art for the Gloom and Bloom boxes for Jane Boolittle, Venus McFlytrap, and Catrine DeMew.

Above are some of the earliest sketches I did, but ended up changing them because they wanted more of an upshot feel instead of the downshots I had provided. If you like the artwork, then awesome. If you think the characters look a little funky, then that’s 100% my fault. Working in vector is so much harder than I had ever imagined. I mean I knew it was going to be hard, but I was not prepared for the arduous task it ended up being. I will never scoff at a piece of stiff product art again now that I know first hand how insanely difficult it is to make vector art keep any sort of natural liveliness to it. I have insane respect for the artists who can do this stuff well.

The good (or maybe bad) news is that this isn’t the last work I’ve done for the Monster High peeps. There’s more to come. So you can either look forward to seeing me hopefully progress toward becoming a better vector artist, or you can curse my name for continuing to make your favorite characters look like doo doo poopie.
