i drugged myself to sleep early last ngiht, woke up at 8:30 am, accidentally had more caffeine than i should, called our lawyer and my maintenance ppl, im drawing furries and told fb im getting married. this is what we call a wild day in this house.
Listen, I’m supposed to be doing a research paper, but I’m having the time of my life on the “homosexuality and Victorian literature” tag on the Very Professional Research Databases my school apparently has.
Things I have learned so far:
There were a total of, like, three straight writers in England during the Victorian era
If there are weird literary allusions, it’s probably gay
If there’s a guy talking about another guy without a healthy dose of NO HOMO NO HOMO, it’s probably gay
If you think it’s gay, it’s probably gay
If it’s not gay, it’s probably because the author is scared of gays
The author is still talking about gays, tho
Probably the author is gay anyways but doesn’t like it
Basically everything is gay
Actual Expert People have Serious Debates over this
are you back to tumblr??? if so welcome back!!! I missed you!!
i’m….thinking of it. i miss my followers and giving advice and i’d like to restructure my blog to be more about lifestyle and helping people than just fandom stuff. i might try to invest in a webcam so i can do some videos too! but i’m easing back into it - working out what i want and i’m gonna find some new people to follow but hopefully i’ll be back! thanks so much for caring <3
This is… actually a fair theory? Allow me to get on the soap box and elaborate.
First off, thanks to Snap Freeze we know that our dear ol’ Pontiff is actually from the painted world.
“One of the spells left behind by the young sorcerer Sulyvahn before leaving the Painted World. Creates a cloud of near-freezing mist. Sulyvahn was born and raised inside the painting, yet had little use for his frigid homeland, since he had not yet experienced loss. “ (Dark Souls 3 Wiki)
Velka herself obviously has always had ties to the painted world to the point where her (Well presumably hers since her clerics use occult weapons) occult ember even resides there in Ds1. The Crow Demons found in the painted world (who may be ancestors of the Corvians in Ds3?) are also confirmed by Miyazaki to be followers of Velka.
The Crow Demons is supposed to be a follower of Velka, the Goddess of Sin, and its powerful delusion has managed to alter its physical form.” (
Dark souls: design works, 2013)
Velka’s miracles are also found in the painted world, and an interesting note about them is that they seem to be ‘dark miracles’. This is never fully confirmed anywhere, but the fact that the sable church, who have heavy associations with The Dark™, use very similar miracles is pretty suspicious. Also I mean look how dark their icons are. Shit is purple and doom looking. Notably for Sulyvahn we have the Greatsword of Judgment:
“A ceremonial sword, held in Pontiff Sulyvahn’s left hand, representing the judgement of the moon, but with magic far closer to sorcery than any existing lunar power. Its dark blue hues, deeper than the darkest moon, reflect sorcerer Sulyvahn’s true nature.
“ ( Dark Souls 3 Wiki.)
Its possible that the ‘True nature’ expressed here has some ties to The Dark™ as “true/nature” are terms often associated with either the Abyss or The Dark. And now with the Ringed City DLC we have some very odd Velka/Abyss connections, thanks to the Purging Monument. But that’s a can of worms for another day.
Lastly, if you really want to get speculative, look at what he did to Irythill and the Blades ‘n consider the following points.
Velka was originally supposed to have a covenant in Ds1 and they had an invasion item that was rumored to target peps in the Darkmoon Blade covenant.
Velka was very likely the one behind the occult rebellion, which was aimed at fucking over the gods.
now that I’ve laid all that out on the table. Allow me to introduce some counter evidence:
Cut content from the Ashes of Ariandel…. The Nameless Tree-Woman …probably. We really don’t know who this dialogue belonged too but its assumed it was the tree where you find Snap Freeze. You can find her dialogue here at 20:20
If you listen it really sounds like this character was probably intended to be Sulyvahn’s mother. But, since it is cut content and there really isn’t much other than some left over dialogue files, take it as you will. Maybe she was his mother, maybe she was just a care taker? It’s impossible to tell.
Tldr; I’d rate this theory at a solid “it’s definitely possible, I don’t know how likely.”
When I first saw your blog, my first assumption is out of this world, it's more like my first impression of your art. Ofc, not in a bad way. I'm fascinated with most of the ideas of your art, it's something myself personally won't even be able to think of and thought it would work and ended up loving them so much. It's just amazing!! I also think you're chill and nice, based on how you always respond to asks from anon & users :"D
oh my this is such a nice assumption and I am so goddamn honored to be assumed about this way
