struggles with allergies

Vocal chord dysfunction is an absolute mother fucker. There’s literally no treatment for it beyond speech and vocal therapy and you can bet your ass that’s not covered by my insurance because it’s “non vital”. Which, y’know, I’m literally just being suffocated by my own vocal chords not working right, no big deal.

Ugh. I just want to be able to breeeeathe.

Only the purest for my blog

Hey everyone, just an update

We should be able to get even within the next month or two with all our bills. Our bank account is in negative still but we have our rent paid!

That being said, Frank and I are sick. He had to go to urgent care and he has a respiratory infection, and I’m still struggling with my bed bug allergy and the resulting hives. We both are also at extreme risk of losing our jobs due to our political opinions being exposed to our coworkers.

We need help getting bus passes, our medications, and getting wet food for our cat. Unfortunately I’ve had to overdraft my paypal to afford some of our expenses.

We have enough food after going to the food bank, but please boost and consider donating to us, we still really need help.

Gravel Ride #1

He advises me, “when you feel the gravel get really loose and you start feeling out of control your natural reaction will be to hold on tight. Don’t do that. Instead loosen your grip and let the the bike find its natural line.”

In my head, “now apply that to your life Marie”.

My inaugural ride was everything I had hoped it would be. The best of both road cycling and mtb. He took me out for a sunrise ride, which was right up my alley. I did struggle with allergies but I wasn’t about to complain for one second. I was happy to be out, not packing or unpacking, but instead enjoying the great weather October always brings us.

My heart is happy.

If it's not too much trouble (and if it hasn't already been done) Headcanons for Tamaki with a s/o with a pollen allergy?

~ He understands your struggle with allergies, always gets really bad stuffed noses when the pollen content gets high in the hair

~ Offers to go and buy you some allergy medicine or if it was really bad he might suggest getting an inhaler of some sort

~ Tries to keep tissues or napkins with him when he’s around you just in case you need to blow or wipe your nose

~ Is perfectly okay with just having dates or hanging around inside when the allergies are really bad if you’d prefer that

Something Beautiful Part 06

This part has been written for a week and it has taken me every day since then to try to edit this.  I am currently struggling with allergies so bad, my eyes are red and puffy, making it not so easy to be able to see.  So I am terribly sorry if there’s obvious errors, I’m tired of fighting through this part.

Words: 2863

Summary:  Clint’s mother is finally sent home from the hospital and you come back to your apartment to find it trashed.  Also, a development in Steve’s relationship with Peggy.  It might be obvious since this is an eventual Steve x Reader.  Also, wanted to take this a different way, but I couldn’t seem to demonize Peg so…it is what it is.

The next morning was quiet and uneventful.  You found yourself showering in the tiny hospital bathroom, only losing your footing a couple times trying to duck down to wash your hair under the short showerhead. Thankfully you hadn’t seemed to have woken Clint or Emily when you emerged from the bathroom wearing some of your comfortable sweats and tee shirt that Natasha brought last night.

Just as you were about to head down to the cafeteria for some coffee, Clint peek open one eye. You made a shushing sound and put one finger over your lips before watching his eye close and his body relax again.  As you quietly shut the door behind you, you stretched your arms over your head, eager to stretch the rest of your body.

It was a quiet walk downstairs, the excitement for the day only having just begun for the rest of the world.  With a quiet thank you to the cashier, you nursed your coffee, thinking about where you could hang out to give Clint and Emily a little more time to rest.

Just as you were pushing through the door back out into the hallway, you spotted Steve across the way in the gift shop, talking to the cashier with a bouquet of assorted, colorful flowers in his hands.  You waited, leaning back against the wall for him to come out.

trilobitey replied to your post “i remmeber you got somehting against all kinds of meat but wath about…”

That is… not much of a list. I am so impressed with how you are working your way through this ridiculous challenge your life has served up for you. And I appreciate your candidness as I struggle with my own food allergy/intolerance issues.

Well when life hands you lemons…better hope you’re not allergic lmao

Thank you, I’m doing a lot better than I have been but it’s still a process. The virus I got at the start of the year knocked me flat on my back for about 10 weeks but I seem to be over that and back to just dealing with the allergies and other issues so…yea…progress :D

Can we get farmer and Sam struggling through allergy season together?

Spring was in full bloom. There was bustle about the flower dance. Penny and Alex had just gotten engaged, and everyone wanted to see them dance together. Lewis walked to the Farmhouse, wanting to talk to the Farmer and Sam. The town was planning an engagement party at the dance, and they wanted the Farmer’s help.

“Hello?“ He said, knocking on the door.

Sam opened the door, nose red and stuffy. He had bags under his eyes. “Hei Mawoh Lewwis,” he said.

“Sam, are you alright?“ Lewis asked, concern in his voice.

“Allwergies.“ The Farmer showed up at the door, looking just as awful as Sam. He leaned against the door frame.

“Uh… I wanted to talk to you about fruit for the party but… want me to pick up your guys’ allergy medication?“

Both Sam and the Farmer nodded.

hey,

if the only thing you’ve eaten today was a uncooked sausage and an apple,

if you’re forcing yourself to eat everytime because you don’t have any appetite or motivation to make your food,

if your mood depends strongly on how long ago you ate,

if you’re recovering from an eating disorder and food is just a difficult subject for you,

if your sensory issues make it hard to eat anything but salted crackers and pear juice,

if cooking one simple meal for one drains all of your spoons but you do it anyway to get good nutrition in you,

if you forget to eat for hours, even days, and then realise when your energy is lower than hell,

if you used to enjoy eating but then completely lost that feeling,

if cooking used to be a hobby but then became the worst thing in the world,

if you struggle with severe allergies or intolerances,

if you in any way have problems with food, and you’re still learning how to cope with it,

i’m proud of you.

Daddy 5SOS Preference: Food Allergy (Ashton)

Will you do one where the kids have allergic reactions to something, like maybe when they’re older so they aren’t expecting it?

A/N: I tried to follow this prompt as closely as possible, but seeing as I myself have struggled with a food allergy since the age of 18 months (peanuts, god forbid I touch peanuts! Hospital for me!) I know a lot about them and I know it’s very rare to become allergic to the “common allergens” later in life. But I also know as I am part of a family with food allergies, I know it’s something that’s “not expected” at any age. Also, don’t take any medical advice from this. I just know what works in my situation, and I’m doing the best I can :)  So sorry the kids are younger, but I hope you enjoy the prompt anyway!

Also, these are all allergies that tend to “go away” since I don’t want to worry about allergies in the rest of the prompts :)

Ashton

“Jake, we’re going to be late! Just because your mom is not here does not mean that I am going to fall to pieces,” Ashton insisted as he finished scrambling some eggs for Jake. Five year old Jake came stumbling down the stairs then, his shoe laces slapping around his ankles. “You can come sit and eat and I’ll tie those,” Ashton laughed, putting the plate down and lifting Jake into the seat.

Luke

Luke didn’t know it was possible for a baby to develop an allergy to the food they had eaten in the past, so as you guys started to introduce baby Kayla to foods, it was like every time she ate a food successfully, Luke was checking things off a mental checklist. He knew there were “major allergens” to look out for, and as you guys began giving Kayla dairy, things with nuts or gluten or soy, it was like a huge weight off his shoulders.

Michael

The one thing Michael didn’t do well with was vomit. It was just that one thing he couldn’t handle. In his three years of parenthood, he’d come into contact with almost every bodily fluid possible, but the one time seven-month-old Hannah had puked on Michael, Michael had immediately turned his head and puked onto the kitchen floor just the same. It was kind of a mess.

390. Quirks
  • Harry: There’s something about your laugh that just amazes Harry. It makes no sense to him how you could hate it so much. You think it’s loud and obnoxious but he doesn’t care if that’s true. Your laugh is contagious; it could make the saddest person in the world happy. It’s one of the first things Harry noticed about you which makes it that much better. After a long day of rehearsals, a massive concert, or even a night in each others arms, he can’t wait to tell you one of his corny jokes just to hear it.
  • Liam: Sometimes Liam can’t help but feel guilty for purposely making you nervous, but it still doesn’t stop him. He adores building your anticipation for a kiss or a touch just so he can watch you bite your lip. He feels bad finding pleasure in your uneasiness but there’s something about the way you bite your lip that’s unlike everyone else, the way your teeth lightly graze your soft lips at just the right speed for the perfect amount of time that just send Liam over the moon.
  • Louis: There’s nothing sexy about sneezes, everyone knows that except for Louis. He absolutely adores your little sneezes. You’ve always struggled with allergies so they tend to come in pairs and sometimes if he’s lucky triplets. He’d never tell you but he loves the way your nose scrunches and wiggles when you feel a sneeze coming and how you shake your hair out of your face after one of your sneezing fits. He’s not sure why but he always has to leave a little kiss on the tip of your nose after you sneeze.
  • Niall: Sometimes you’ll start picking at your hair, grabbing the perfect amount to carefully spin between your index finger and thumb. Then you’ll effortlessly juggle the strand from your index and middle finger. You don’t realize it but twirling your hair between your fingers is something you do subconsciously, when you’re bored, thinking, anxious, happy, sad, or even mad. There’s really no rhyme or reason to when you do it so sometimes Niall finds himself watching you, just waiting for you to pick up your hair.
  • Zayn: When you and Zayn are lucky enough to have nights next to each other he’s sure to cherish the simplest of things, like the little snores you make. Sometimes they’re more like heavy breathing but he loves them just as much. He likes to think of them as tiny reminders that you’re still there next to him, where you belong. More importantly there’s something so special to him that you allow yourself to be so completely vulnerable around him.
