Pride is getting mad and defensive when someone makes fun of you for listening to Broadway Musicals too much.

Confidence is laughing it off and saying, ‘you’re right’ while turning up the volume and singing louder.

i was sO CLOSE TO FINISHING THIS BEFORE MIDNIGHT ah well. Happy late Dani Day.

I really like the stuff about ghosts forms matching their psychological state, and that as they grow they don’t really mature like humans do so much as they change their appearance to how they think of themselves.

I see people giving Danny all sort of “hip” costume changes to make him look like a street fighter, but he thinks of himself as a superhero so I don’t think his spandex will be going anywhere. Dani? She isn’t a superhero. She’s a wanderer. She travels, she steals, she gets in fights. She thinks of herself as a rogue, a street kid. She’d get the belts and cut off sleeves and fingerless gloves and combat boots. I think the logo would be the first to go, once she starts thinking of herself as seperate from Danny and not just a clone, and then the spandex right after that.

So word on the street now is that Phantom Oslo is going to build their own sets...

I think I prefer that. With the director for the Romanian production on board, I feared they would copy the Romanian design and staging. THAT was underwhelming weirdness.

Missoni Elissa!

“Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream…”

Fifty Shades of Grey moments

Edwardian Carlotta / Punk Piangi / Modern-day ballerina costume mashup

The dreaded black/white/metallic Masquerade costumes (and yes, that IS Raoul in that dotty costume. NO COMMENT NECESSARY):

Strangling Raoul in the boat (…WHAT EVEN?!?):

And last, but certainly not least, the very short and random, but slightly uncomfortable promo video which for the most showed a sleeping/unconscious Christine in bed, with a man approacing her:

There’s few things I genuinely liked about the Romanian production in terms of design and staging ideas. So I’m a happy camper if the Oslo production doesn’t duplicate THAT, at least.

It struck me that it’s odd Norway and Romania gets the same director, seeing how Maria Bjørnson was half Norwegian and half Romanian. Yet NONE of her ancestral countries honour her by actually using her design. if nothing else, what a total waste of a brilliant promo possibility. Tsk-tsk…
