La Fontaine Stravinsky // Paris, France

This wasn’t actually on my places to visit, but while idly staring at Google Maps, it caught my attention. I had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by the whimsicality of it.

Upon further research, the sculptures are all supposed to represent works by Stravinsky and were made by Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle.

It was such a cool little place, and nearby, there were actually a group of kids playing football with people (and a dog) observing!

That being said, this was probably the highlight:

Stay classy, Paris.

La Fontaine Stravinsky

It’s like something out of a Tim Burton film!

Found outside the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris’s museum of modern art, the whimsical sculptures in the Stravinsky Fountain were inspired by works of Igor Stravinsky. This one is presumably Circus Polka: For a Young Elephant. Wikipedia informs me that “[t]he ballet was performed by fifty elephants and fifty ballerinas”, which must have been quite a sight.
