It makes me so fucking sad to know that Eleven could have said “turn back” or “it’s not safe” a thousand times over, she could have held onto Mike’s hand all she wanted, but there was simply no other way to save the boys without giving herself to the Demogorgon. There just wasn’t any other way. And what tears me up is wondering how long she knew the reality of that? Of these events that were set into motion that only concluded with her demise.
