Crystals that have been smoothed or polished from their raw form are usually classified as tumbled stones. They have not been carved into any specific form, but are not jagged to the touch. These crystals are usually more affordable and are good for basic crystal use, including grids, meditation, affirmations, altar work, feng shui or more.
Crystals in an Abundance formation are made up of an elongated quartz crystal with smaller crystals clustered around its base. This is a great stone to attract abundance to your life (hence its name) and is great for acting as a conduit to your wealth and business stones.
Natural points are not necessarily long crystals in a wand-like formation. They are any part of a faceted crystal with a point that has formed naturally, and has not been carved to perfection. These types of stones must be used with caution as the point draws energy to the body (when pointed toward a person) or it draws energy away from the body (when pointed away from the body). These properties make it a great tool for cleansing and healing work.
The Phantom formation is slightly difficult to find. These crystals have a hazy image within them, although most of the crystal is particularly transclucent. This phantom of ghost within the crystal is said to carry a vast array of information for the past, making it a powerful tool for past-like work and healing. Depending on the crystal that the phantom is found within, additional properties will apply. However, any Phantom formation will be a powerful stone to shake out your skeletons and pave a healthy path for growth.
A Generator will have six facets (of equal or unequal proportions) that meet into one point. It gets its name for its ability to generate amplified energy, boosting the power of other stones, or the stone it is made of. This type of formation is also very powerful for charging other stones.
These stones are elusive because they appear ordinary from the outside. However, when they are opened or broken they reveal a hollow cave with crystals sparkling within. Because of their contained form, geodes have the ability to hold energy within and soften it, allowing it to naturally flow out and disperse evenly. These formations are great for protection or for assisting with healing abusive habits such as alcoholism, drug abuse, sex addiction, shopping addiction, and abusive internal monologues.
Raw stones are in their natural form and have not been smoothed, polished or altered. Though they are more fragile and can break more easily than other formations, many prefer the look of these stones as they would appear raw in their natural habitat. Like tumbled stones, raw stones are great for all spiritual work and are often quite affordable.
Pyramids are stones that have been shaped into a point with four equal faceted sides and a square base. These formations are great for warding off negative vibrations or removing blocks within the chakra system. This shape is also a great choice to use in affirmation and manifestation work. The properties of the crystal are amplified in this formation. It is a good choice for healers.
The circle emits energy evenly from all angles, and the Sphere formation is no different. These are powerful formations and are often used in scrying as a tool to peer into the past and future. Because the shape is even from every possible angle, it is believed that light, energy and time pass through it with no rules or hindrances, hence their scrying abilities. They often have flaws or occlusions within them which help with the scrying process, though they can be quite expensive depending on their size.
This formation works well with grounding energies and intentions since its energy is contained and enhanced evenly within the stone. It acts as a foundation to meditation practices and has the ability to transmute negative energy into positive energy. They’re stacking ability makes them great tools for mindfulness and concentration, especially if you’re doing detailed work.
This post a little spinoff from my “Explaining Crystal Healing” post, and describes how energy is directed throughout a stone based on the different, both cut and raw, shapes of gemstones. Enjoy ♡
Natural Point(s)⌇Best used when energy is meant to be concentrated and pointed in a specific direction. If a stone has more than one point, the energy will also tend to be directed in those multiple directions. Larger points make wonderful wands!
Grounded Point/Obelisk⌇Stronger version of the (natural) pointed stone, as the bottom of an obilisk-shaped crystal is flat, and allowing for a more grounded directional energy. Because these are meant to be placed standing and pointing upwards, they are best used when energy is needed to be pointed up from a flat surface.
Double-Terminated⌇Think of these cuts as having two poles, like the earth, moving energy in a elongated sphere around the crystal. Energy is taken in by each point and added to the ‘bubble’ of energy the crystal can work with.
Tumbled⌇Crystals and stones that have been tumbled (yet not quite into a perfect sphere) will have energy that softly emits in all directions, sometimes directionally varied if the stone is a little more abstractly shaped.
Natural/Raw⌇Energy flow with naturally shaped and formed stones, while being stronger than man-made stones, tends to be more sporadic than smoother or more even stones (unless, of course, the stone forms naturally with a smooth texture). Energy flow depends on the shape and texture of each mineral - Rough, cubed, pointed, etc.
Faceted/Multiple-Faced⌇Energy in and around faceted gemstones, such as those commonly used in jewelry, will be given off similarly to how a mirror or glass pane reflects/directs light; In this example, think of each face of the stone as glass, and energy as the light. This method of energy flow also applies to multiple-faced, non-pointed stones, such as some varieties of raw minerals that grow with cubed or edged faces.
Spherical⌇Crystal balls and spheres will give off energy in an evenly distributed way, as you expect a perfect sphere would. Spherical gemstones that are translucent and able to focus light (similarly to how a magnifying class can focus sunlight) can also direct energy in one direction if used in certain ways.
“Palm” Stone⌇Palm stones are similar to spherical stones in that they emit energy in a constant way, though these stones are more grounded. Because of their grounded nature and palm-like shape, these types of stones are ideal for emotional healing, grounding, or stress.
Worry Stone⌇Worry stones are created to, just as the name suggests, decrease or eliminate worry! These are made to work a bit differently than others; the piezoelectric energy of the stone is made to be given off as a trigger to physical touching or rubbing one’s thumb on the slightly concaved area of the stone. Besides metaphysical healing purposes, these are also made to give a person something do fiddle with in their hands to take the mind off worry.
Ezekiel tries out the prophecy goggles one last time and this time he sees Jake standing at a wedding alter, thanking him. So he assumes he was the matchmaker, and decides to get a jump on that. First he tries wingmanning for Jake, then he thinks that maybe Jake’s future bride is Cassandra, so he starts coming up with plans to get them together.
Then Jake asks him out. Three years later, they’re standing at that alter together, with Cassandra as Ezekiel’s maid of honor/best woman and Jake thanking Ezekiel for making him happier than he’d ever thought possible.
A while ago I asked for help choosing between two different Triforce design options. Here is the winner! This one received over 2/3 of the vote, but what actually solidified my decision was the comments some of you left explaining your choice.
People in both sides argued that their preferred design “fit” better, but this one was called more “elegant, sleek, and elven”. A few people made comparisons to visual similarities to the guardian spirits/spiritual stones. Several others pointed out that the arrows guide the eye toward the rest of the panel – I didn’t even realize at the time that there were other arrows nearby in the applique design.
I’m a pretty introverted person and I spend most of my time working alone in my workshop, which is how I like it. But sometimes I miss working alongside other artists and bouncing ideas off of each other. Thank you all for the thoughtful feedback – I’m positive we made the right choice!
“The difference between my sins and your sins is that when I sin I know I’m sinning while you have actually fallen prey to your own fabricated illusions. I am a siren, a mermaid; I know that I am beautiful while basking on the ocean’s waves and I know that I can eat flesh and bones at the bottom of the sea” 💀 my altar / crystal and seashell arrangement from last nights full moon rituals and cleansing 🌿🔮🐚✨
We’ve featured the Clovis points from the Rummels-Maske site before, but here they are from a different perspective - photo taken in 1966! Rummels-Maske is an early Paleoindian site found on an upland ridge near a tributary of the Cedar River in eastern Iowa. The 20 complete and fragmentary finished Clovis points recovered from the site appear to represent a cache.
Ezekiel liked to pretend he didn’t
flinch at crowds. He liked to pretend that he was still able to go to sports
games, that the crowds weren’t too much, too loud. When the stadium was full
the people were filled with enthusiasm and excitement and rage. He didn’t go
with the others when Stone invited them to the local bar; he couldn’t, he was
‘sick’ and he couldn’t go to a bar with a migraine. Ezekiel pretended to do a
lot of things after they went to the DARPA facility. He pretended he didn’t
remember and he pretended he didn’t care. He said he didn’t know the stories
they told him a hundred times and he said he hadn’t changed.
He forgot sometimes though, that he
hadn’t lived longer than any of them. He forgot that he didn’t have burns on
his hand and that the others didn’t know what he knew. He slipped, he talked to
Stone about engineering with a knowledge he wasn’t supposed to have. He charged
into combat with Baird, always ready to protect her right flank from danger.
Jenkins nodded to him one day and asked him how many years he had lived.
Ezekiel told him it was lifetimes and he smiled with eyes that were as old as
Galahad’s before slipping back behind his mask, he was only in his twenties
He realised one day, weeks, maybe
months, afterwards that he wasn’t as very good at reality anymore. He forgot
that wounds didn’t heal at the touch of a box and that his life didn’t fit in
his backpack. He realised the others stared when he carried his baseball bat
around like a safety net and when he could tell them exactly how to use it in
close combat. He forgets that in this life he hadn’t learnt to listen, to stay
silent and they stare when he does.
The next time they fought an enemy
he came straight to Baird’s side with his bat in one hand and a smile on his
face. He jumped in even before Stone, told the others where to go and laughed
as he faced death. It was real death and that was better than living and
constantly dying and then living on.
He pretended he didn’t know every
different light frequency and what sound it equated to and he smiled when
Cassandra hummed the rainbow because he wasn’t meant to know.
One of the first things Stone said
was that he had become a half-way decent person and he pretended that statement
didn’t cut him to the bone. He acted as if it was a terrible fate even as the
words made him cringe. He wanted to yell, to shout, he was older than all of
them. He had lived years more than they had in-between one breath and the next.
He acted like he was proud of every mock at his expense and every comment at
how he didn’t know how to do what was best. He knew what was best, he had
sacrificed his life for these people. He had been clawed to peices and bashed
and suffocated beneath the crushing weight of what he had to do.
He spent loops lying on the crate,
begging them not to go, until one loop they didn’t. One loop he sat there as
they shared stories and he learnt the entire history of the Roman empire until
he could repeat it back to Stone word-for-word, every sentence.
When Ezekiel Jones, master thief,
pretended not to know and he didn’t even do it for himself. He did it even
though it hurt, he knew the look of pride and sadness that would fill Baird’s
eyes, he had seen it so many times he had lost count, he wanted to see it again
but he didn’t. He did it because he remember everything and they remembered an
hour, a single loop where he had lived lifetimes. How could they unerstand how
he had changed when all they remembered was an hour. How do you equate an hour
Ezekiel Jones was in his twenties
and he was old. He was ancient and he knew everything a person could know about
everything Cassandra and Stone and Baird knew. He knew how to disarm a bomb
because Baird liked to talk about it and he knew how to identify a forgery
because Stone liked to tell him. But the day after his lives they hadn’t told
him a thing. So Ezekiel pretended he wasn’t scared of crowds, that he didn’t
know the world that lay at his friend’s fingertips, and he pretended that his
baseball bat wasn’t always by his side because of fear.
Ezekiel Jones lived lifetimes in an
hour and then he pretended he didn’t.
