Happy Birthday Hailey

It’s the wonderful @victuurificrec aka Hailey’s birthday today! She does an incredible amount for the fandom and if you don’t know her blog, I suggest you definitely check it out asap. She puts a huge amount of effort into everything that she does and she’s been an incredible supporter of my fic for a long time. So to say thank you and Happy Birthday to Hailey, here’s a little birthday themed Viktuuri ficlet to show my appreciation.

Happy Birthday! xx

“So, you’re telling me that all this panic is just because you can’t decide what to get Viktor for his birthday?” Phichit asked disbelievingly.

Yuuri groaned, resting his head in his free hand as he clutched his phone with the other. It was stupid, he knew. Calling Phichit in a panic after almost a full week of constant worrying and doubt over something that Viktor probably wouldn’t even care much about but he couldn’t help himself.

“I’ve been living with him for a year Phichit. We’ve been together for even longer. Last year he told me he didn’t really celebrate much but this year it’s different. We’ve been together too long for me to not give him something, I just don’t know what.”

Rouge (胭脂扣). Dir. Stanley Kwan. 1988.

An adaptation from the novel by Lilian Lee, Rouge is part period drama, part ghost story, melding together elements of romance and the supernatural to slowly unveil a moving story about the inevitability of change. Fleur, an alluring courtesan working at a flourishing brothel in 1930s Hong Kong, falls madly in love with the 12th Master, Chan Chen-pang, who comes from a wealthy family. Their torrid, doomed love affair comes to an end when, realizing they can never be together, the two decide to commit suicide by overdosing on opium.

The film travels between flashbacks to the 1930s, and scenes set in present-day 1980s Hong Kong, where Fleur returns as a ghost after spending 50 years in the afterlife waiting for the 12th Master. Believing that he is still alive, Fleur searches for her lover among the strange, unfamiliar streets that used to be her home, and grapples with the realization that both her lover and the Hong Kong she once knew could be long gone.

Rouge stars Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung, two wildly successful Cantopop idols at the time, whose performances in this film established their acting potential. A classic of 1980s Hong Kong cinema, Rouge will forever be remembered for its two stars, and in retrospect its eerily fateful storyline, as both Anita and Leslie ultimately passed away in the same year.

Consider The Coconut - Lin Manuel x Reader

Request: If requests are open, can you write a fic where Lin gets too used to stealing y/n’s chapstick and then he accidentally uses it when it happens to have a color tint to it. I’m sorry if that was confusing! But I hope that made sense and that your day goes wonderfully!

Word Count: 1585ish

Author’s Note: Sorry this request took so long! I hope whoever the anon was who submitted it enjoys it! Thanks to @secretschuylersister, she’s the best and helped me a lot with this one.  #bestofwivesandbestofwomen Also, this video is important. And as always, let me know if you see any mistakes.

Bloom — Part I — Summer

REQUEST: Can u write a fan fic about the girl owning a flower shop and Harry coming in to get flowers for someone else but then they fall in love because love is beautiful like a flower

Started writing this oneshot and it turned into four oneshots. I changed it up a bit, but I hope you enjoy. x

The first time that Harry came to her shop, she barely said a word to him.

She knew when she opened her flower shop that Harry Styles lived nearby. It’s basically all that her friends back home could talk about when she announced where she was moving—they were diehard fans, and a few of them even begged her to take them with her so that they could meet the infamous Harry Styles.

She wasn’t shy, and she wasn’t one to get starstruck when face to face with a celebrity (not that she’d ever really met one). But the first time of many that Harry Styles walked into her flower shop, he was on a date.

His date wasn’t a big name or anything, and didn’t look familiar at all. But he was very much enthralled with her—he seemed like the kind of man to give you all his attention when he’s set aside time for you, and that was something she rarely ever really saw. She busied herself behind the counter of the shop, counting receipts and moving some stuff around so that she didn’t look like she was eavesdropping, which she wasn’t.

The shop that she owned wasn’t very big at all—it was just big enough to hold a small greenhouse garden in the back that she used to grow her flowers, as well as the storefront where she sold them (among the shipments she received from other greenhouses that were much larger than her own). It wasn’t exactly LARGE by any standards but she enjoyed it that way. Except it meant that there really wasn’t anywhere to hide, so when Harry Styles and his date decided to walk around and look at her bouquets, she couldn’t help but overhear.

gaynihilsm  asked:

hey! I love pining too.. but more so from Draco's side, I love Draco head over heels not being able to contain himself just seeing Harry. Also I need a happy-ending. Any good fics in mind?

Hey! Yes I do! Pining!Draco is another of my faves. (Here’s the Pining!Harry companion list in case anyone has missed out on that one.) @jaloesie

Drarry + pining!Draco fic recs

And Back Again (Where You Belong) by eidheann (15k)
He thought back on their previous handshakes, and smiled faintly at the fact they always seemed to mean so much more to him than they did to Potter.
(This is so wonderfully angsty, the pining is just lovely, it really hurt me. Poor Draco gets his heart broken, and mine breaks along with his. So good.)

The Light More Beautiful by firethesound (81k)
Thirteen years after Draco accepts Potter’s help escaping the horror of his sixth year, he returns to England where he makes the unfortunate discovery that Potter is still as obnoxious as ever. And worse, more than a decade overseas hasn’t been enough to dim Draco’s obsession with him.
(Oh wow, the pining in this one! Draco’s been in love with Harry for SO many years and he just can’t stop. It hurts so good. Amazing, amazing fic.)

On A Clear Day by Sara’s Girl (41k)
Draco Malfoy is waiting for his real life to begin, and it appears that he’s not the only one. Coffee, charity, and the wisdom of the elderly.
(This is suuch a lovely fic! Draco starts to visit hermit!Harry and falls hopelessly in love with him, the pining is exquisite, and the writing is just excellent.)

Whoo Knew? by oceaxe (18k)
Despite having had a crush on his Auror partner for years, Draco’s been biding his time and waiting for the perfect opportunity to make his case. But when Harry subscribes to a new wizarding personals service, Draco gets a wake-up call. With new each message that arrives for Harry from a hopeful suitor, it becomes more and more clear that the time to act has arrived.
(AAGH this is such great pining, Draco is hurtinggg and Harry has no idea. At the same time, this fic is also has a bunch of really funny moments. Love it!)

Stories in E Minor by huldrejenta (8.7k)
Draco has found his place in the Muggle world. He’s got his music, he’s got his neighbours and he is content. Until a certain someone from the past enters his life again.
(Beautiful writing! I love jazz musician!Draco and he’s pining so hard over Harry, it hurts. He never expects to get more than one night with him..)

All Life is Yours to Miss by Sara’s Girl (114k)
Professor Malfoy’s world is contained, controlled, and as solitary as he can make it, but when an act of petty revenge goes horribly awry, he and his trusty six-legged friend are thrown into Hogwarts life at the deep end and must learn to live, love and let go.
(I love this fic, Draco’s journey and development in it is the kind of thing I live for. He falls so hard for Harry, but is convinced Harry will hate him.)

Chaos Theory by Brief_and_Dreamy (43k)
When an ancient spell book is discovered in an abandoned vault, Harry–a Curse-Breaker–and Draco–an Unspeakable–are called in to examine it. Draco does everything in his power to resist Potter’s advances, despite his growing crush. Potter just wants sex, he assumes, and Draco doesn’t want to be used. He discovers, however, that some things aren’t within our power to control.
(I feel so protective over Draco in this fic, “soft vines of longing curled around his heart”, first pain, then pining pining pining, and then SWEETNESS.)

Weeds or Wildflowers by lumosed_quill (17k)
A perfect match, a romance for the ages, with a one hundred percent success rate! Magic Match claims they can give Draco all of this. So why do they keep sending him on dates with Harry Potter?
(This fic is absolutely hilarious. I love the writing, Draco is so outraged while he’s secretly pining so hard. Exactly the kind of fic I love to read.)

Valentine’s Gift for @peanut-milk for the @aftgexchange.

The one where Andrew and Neil have their first official date( On Valentine’s Day no less. Blame Allison.)

“So, what did you get your monster for Valentine’s Day?” Allison asks, as she idly types away at her phone.

Anger bubbles up in Neil, “Allison, he’s not—“ he begins, but gets cut off by her.

“Sorry, I meant to say Andrew, your boyfriend. What did you get him for Valentine’s Day?” she gives a quick glance up at Neil, whose face appears slightly flushed at the remark. A smirk forms on her lips, “Don’t try and deny that. I won’t let you.”

Neil sighs and runs a hand through his hair, “Nothing. Why would I?” At those words, Allison stops typing away on her phone and sets it down next to her. She arches a brow at Neil, “What do you mean ‘nothing,’ it’s Valentine’s Day, Neil. That one day of the year specifically designated by capitalism to celebrate your love with your partner. Which is Andrew, in your case.”

Love. He lets the word wash over him. He doesn’t know if that’s the word he’d use. It’s a word too overused all around him but too underused in his own life for it to mean anything to him.  He doesn’t think any word is fit to describe what he and Andrew have and yet—

DISCLAIMER: I don’t own Harry Potter. None of the settings are mine and all belong to JK Rowling. Gotta say it.

You smoothed down your robes, watching the countryside zip past the small windows of the Hogwarts Express. You were only 11 years old, excited and feeling prepared for your first year at the amazing “school of witchcraft and wizardry”. It had been a dream come true when your letter had arrived. Your parents were just regular people, or “muggles” as all the other witches and wizards called them, so they had thought that the letter was a prank or something when you’d first received it. But as you’d pulled out the piece of parchment and read what was written in the curly green inked handwriting, you knew that it was no joke. It felt too right and explained too much.

Being Muggleborn, you knew absolutely no one on this train. It was the one thing you were worried about at this school. You knew that you would be fine with keeping your grades up, and you weren’t even scared of getting lost, but you’d only found out you were a witch less than two months ago. How were you going to fit in here? The others would’ve surely been raised to expect a life at this school since they were tiny, so would they really accept someone as clueless as you? You’d read up on as much as you could about the school and about magic before you came here so you hoped that you knew enough to at least appear like you were well-versed in all things magical.

Despite all of this you were determined to approach this new experience with zero concerns. You were confident it would turn out okay, so you decided to focus on how amazing all this was. You couldn’t wait to get there, but there was still a long way to go before you reached Hogwarts – you’d really only just left the station. You were fairly sure that you were allowed to have stayed in your normal clothing for a while longer but you were too excited to put on your new robes to wait. You eyed the logo on the front of your robes happily, a small smile appearing on your lips. You were really going. It wasn’t all some crazy dream.

The doors to your carriage opened suddenly and you jumped, looking up to see who it was. There was an Asian boy standing in the opening, a lazy smile on his face. From this distance both his hair and his eyes looked jet black, even darker than his robes. His skin looked white as sugar in stark contrast to the rest of these dark colours. He looked almost like some kind of demon, but you couldn’t recall ever reading about them in any of your textbooks. You made a mental note to look that up once you reached the school and had access to the library. You saw that under his robes his body was slim but at this young age there was still a little leftover baby fat in his cheeks, making him look far less intimidating than you’d originally thought. Those black eyes watched you from where he stood, one hand still resting on the door to the carriage.

Love Yourself - Connor x Evan

Author - K (I’m pretty sure J doesn’t really listen to musicals I’m not entirely sure)

so this is something I wrote when kind of tipsy on mango vodka and schloer. but I quite like it and hope you guys too. also, i was tipsy and now so is Evan.

~

Connor was sitting on his bed, painfully sober after only three beers, while Evan was giggling at the ceiling on the other end. Connor sighed, looking fondly at the other boy, feeling guilty that he has gotten Evan drunk. Yet, he couldn’t let himself feel too bad because he knew that Evan needed this. He needed a distraction, and Connor was putty in this boy’s hands. He would walk across hot coals just to make Evan smile. So getting a few beers into his home while his parents were away was nothing. He pushed himself up off of his bed, getting a baggy shirt and sweats that Evan had left ones of the many other nights he’d stayed there. He was planning to attempt to get Evan into them so he’s reasonably comfortable when he sleeps, but he’s that drunk that it probably wouldn’t matter if he was still in jeans or not. But, when he tried to get Evan’s top off, he went bright red and tried to bat Connor’s hands away.

He spluttered while trying to stop Connor from undressing him. “I have a boyfriend! You’re not allowed to undress me because Connor will get mad and him being mad kind of makes me want to cry.” He continued to ramble, his words slurring slightly. His heart broke slightly at Evan’s statement because Connor knew he was mad quite a lot. But he shook the thoughts away and replaced them with ‘Evan is such a lightweight. Probably because he has never drunk before.’

He let out a deep sigh. “I am your boyfriend, dipshit. I’m trying to get you into pyjamas so you don’t sleep in those shitty blue jeans.” Connor tried to persuade him, but Evan wasn’t having it. He kept waving him off, mumbling about how he wasn’t going to betray Connor. He would have found it adorable if he wasn’t trying to do something. Eventually, Connor gave up and sat next to Evan, laying his head in his hands and yawning, exhaustion suddenly taking over.

After a few minutes of silence, Evan spoke up. “I love Connor.” His chest tightened at Evan’s words. “I love him so much it hurts. Because sometimes I think to myself, ‘if I asked him to list everything he loves, how long would it take him to say himself?’ I’m not even sure if he would and it breaks my heart. I know he isn’t perfect and has done some shitty things, but he is getting better and loads of people don’t see that and treat him like he is some dog that they can provoke until it runs and tries to rip their face off!” Evan had slowly become slightly hysterical, crying about how amazing he feels his boyfriend is. Connor wanted to cry as well. No one had ever spoken so kindly of him. But Connor settled for holding Evan’s hand and saying sweet words to calm him down.

When he had eventually calmed Evan down, Connor squeezed Evan’s hand. “He loves you, too. He worships you and I know he wouldn’t say he loves himself. But that list? Of things he loves? Would be filled with different things about you. He could go on for days about everything he loves about you. The only reason he doesn’t say anything day to day is because he is damaged and doesn’t show any emotions except anger. But I swear to you, he loves you.” Evan smiled warmly, looking at the floor with teary eyes before picking up the pyjamas, and slowly picking himself off the bed and to the bathroom to change.

By the time he returned, Connor was under the duvet waiting for him.When he climbed into bed, he left a decent chunk of space between him and Connor, obviously still drunk enough to think that Connor wasn’t actually Connor. But as soon as he heard Evan’s breathing even out, signalling he was asleep, he slipped an arm around his waist, pulling him closer.

Before he went to sleep himself, he kissed Evan’s shoulder and whispered ‘I love you’.

Their night on Tatooine had been lovely, even for a desert planet. They slept peacefully, neither too cold nor too warm; she felt blessed to have a growing number of restful nights. It had been amusing the night before, when Kylo was still unsure if she wanted to share a bed with him; Rey simply climbed into the bed, pulling him in with her. Now, Rey didn’t want to get up from the snug bed, would much rather have preferred to lay in the comfy bed with cozy blankets. However Kylo kept a tight schedule, and she could sense through their bond that he wanted everything to run as smoothly as possible, so they left the desert planet after a delicious breakfast.

Their next destination was a mystery to her, and Kylo was reinforcing his mental defenses more than he normally did so as to keep her out. He punched the coordinates for the next planet so quickly that Rey didn’t even get a chance to peek at them. She would not know where she would be going until they dropped out of hyperspace.

Due to Tatooine’s location in the Outer Rim, Kylo explained that reaching their next destination would take a bit longer because it was located in the Core Worlds. Skeptically she raised her brows at him, but questioned him no further.

All things in due time, she reminded herself.

Imagine:

 Being Brock Rumlow’s daughter and flirting with the Winter Soldier and sneaking him goodies when no one’s looking.

 ••• Requested by Anon •••

Your father had left you with a switchblade and a firearm when he had left you alone in your apartment with the infamous assassin. He had told you not to speak to him or even look in his direction, but your father obviously didn’t know you that well if he actually thought you’d listen to him.

The man - the Winter Soldier your father had called him - was seated in the corner of your living room, completely still, staring straight down the hall at your front door. He had tousled dark brown hair, which was thick and lustrous, but looked as if it hadn’t been washed in days. His eyes were a mesmerizing deep ocean blue that were set in a chilling glare that, were he looking right at you, made you feel like you were standing in the nude in a vicious hailstorm, where every chunk of ice was a frosted dagger cutting down into your skin.

Silence lingered in the air. You felt almost claustrophobic where you sat awkwardly on your couch, waiting for your father to return and take his business elsewhere, but as time ticked by you felt the anxiety leap up into your throat. Jumping up suddenly, you left the gun and your cold coffee mug behind as you made your way over to the fridge. You could feel the Winter Soldier’s eyes on you as you moved around. Grabbing two bars of chocolate from the fridge door, you marched over to him and threw one of the chocolates his way.

He caught it with ease; his mechanical arm darting out to catch it before it hit him square in the face.

“You don’t have a peanut allergy, do you?” You asked to him, hopping onto the table in front of him, obscuring his view of the front door. “Peanuts and chocolate are definitely one of my favourite combinations.”

You crossed your legs and unwrapped your chocolate. He didn’t make a move to eat his, and instead furrowed his brow and met your intense gaze with his own.

“Did you know that there’s a chemical in chocolate called phenethylamine that stimulates the nervous system and triggers the release of pleasurable opium-like compounds known as endorphins? It also occurs whenever someone is in love - gives you a happy, giddy feeling.” You said, biting into your chocolate and wiggling your eyebrows at him in a dopey flirty way.

The Soldier’s eyes left yours for a moment and he slowly unwrapped the chocolate you had given him. A sense of accomplishment consumed you as he lifted the sweet up to his lips and bit off a corner. You almost missed the tiny amused smile he wore as his eyes met yours again.

Langst hallucinations AU

Okay so, I’ve had this au stuck in my head for a while. Basically, Lance has become so homesick that he starts to snap. If you don’t sleep for more than a week, you could get hallucinations, but probably a good day’s sleep could easily fix a few problems you will encounter. BTW, there is some Klance/Klangst in this so just be aware of that.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Lately, Lance has been lacking in action and response. Whenever they are training he seems to be lacking the usual enthusiasm and energy, and it doesn’t help that the team has to shout in his face to get him to notice they’re even there. It’s getting them all worried. They ask Lance if he’s okay, he just replies with a simple ‘Yeah’ or ‘I’m fine, really…’. Of course, the team aren’t completely convinced with that answer but let him off so they don’t irritate him. They know how hard it is for him, they know a bit about his insecurities because he was brave enough to tell a little to the team. Little do they know, Lance hasn’t slept in a week and a half.
 Lance has recently been having intrusive thoughts, saying stuff like “Why are you even trying when you know you’re just dead weight to the entire team”, “Hunk probably hangs out with Pidge more because he finally realized how stupid and pointless you are.”, “You’re weak, what are you doing here when you know that you should be dead right now?”, or “Keith will never like you back, no matter how hard you try.”. Lance tries so hard to ignore those thoughts but the more he hears them the more unstable he feels. His nightmare occurrences have increased probably even more than Shiro’s. He dreams about how the team sees him as nothing but a useless placeholder and how he doesn’t belong anywhere, or his family. His family are the worst ones, either his parents are scolding him about how disappointed they are, he dreams of what they might be doing on Earth without him there and if any of them are still really alive, or….. the team returns to Earth and Lance runs home…. only to find every single family member dead on the floor… and a bloody and used weapon is in his hands.
 Lance stopped sleeping and instead cried every night, trying hard to block out his intrusive thoughts and stay awake. Soon, it began to take effect on his health. He grows more hungry than usual but always waits till night to have an entire feast, Hunk and Coran notice a shortage of some food supply or even full plates that are left in the fridge for the next day. He’s been getting sick more often than usual and it’s putting everyone on edge. He begins to become more forgetful and unaware of his surroundings, Shiro and Allura notice and tries their hardest to get Lance back on track. He sometimes stumbles over his words and stutters once and a while, Pidge and Keith sometimes have to correct him on words and grammar. He also begins to have hallucinations around the castle… all of them are of his family.
One night Keith was up late training like he usually does, when he heard a sudden shout. It sounded like Lance. The shouting continued as Keith tried to track down where it was coming from. When he ran into the kitchen, he found Lance huddled on his side on the floor with his knees to his chest, head down, whimpering and calling out to his mother as if she was actually there right at that moment. Keith panicked, unsure of what to do. So he just ran over to Lance and began to shake him and call his name. It took quite a while, but it worked after a minute or two. By then Lance was crying, tears running down his face. He looked around only to find that his mother was no longer there where he’d seen her when he walked in for his late night meal. He swore he saw her but knew that was impossible. He told Keith what he saw and Keith looked at him concerned, telling him that no one was there when he found him.
The next day, Keith stayed pretty close to Lance, not once telling him off or making fun of him. He told the team what happened the night before and they all decided to keep a good eye on Lance. The same day, Keith and Pidge got to see Lance staring intently at nothing, his eyes watery and damp until tears finally fell and he was running in the direction of where his eyes lay. Keith and Pidge ran after him through hallways and into the training deck. In the center of it, Lance stopped and fell to his knees screaming. Everyone gathered there to help Lance in any way they could. Eventually, he calmed down in Keith’s arms and began whispering someone’s name. Keith was close enough to hear and it seemed that Lance was calling and apologizing to his nephew Mateo, who Lance has talked about to the team many times before. Why was he apologizing to his nephew?
That night, Lance was stable enough to tell the team what’s been going on. How he has nightmares so he hasn’t slept in 2 weeks. Why he wasn’t there at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. What he’s been seeing. The first thing he saw was his sister Cleo sitting on his bed of his paladin bedroom, reading a book. He immediately ran up to her to hug her only to land straight in his bed, Cleo nowhere in sight. The second was his father in the dining room, reading a newspaper while drinking coffee. He stopped coming to eat with the team after that. The third was his mother cooking in the kitchen, she actually looked at Lance for a second, seeing her smile again making Lance cry. That was the night Keith found him. The fourth time was when Lance saw his nephew Mateo playing in the halls of the castle, telling Lance to play tag with him and he ran off. Lance immediately chased the little boy, through sharp turns, forks in the path, and finally the entrance of the training deck… and when he entered, he found Mateo bleeding on the floor with holes through his back out his chest, bloody burn marks covered the edges of the holes that was burned into the little boy’s shirt. Lance looked down to see his bayard activated and smoking at the tip, signaling that it was just used… to kill the boy who called Lance his favorite uncle and vice versa.
From that point on everyone always stayed close to Lance making sure he was healthy and happy. Hunk made sure he ate and if he got sick, he’d make multiple meals for Lance. Shiro made sure Lance was healthy and well enough to train and if not he would force Lance to sit this one out. Pidge, Allura, and Coran checked his vital health rates weekly. Keith slept next to Lance every night hoping it would rid of the nightmares, and apparently, it worked pretty well, later on, Keith began to have feelings for Lance and vice versa. Lance would say they were kinda overdoing it, but he couldn’t blame them. He knew his state was really bad at the time so he just let it happen with little complaints.
As much as he’d like it to be the case, Thomas did not at first recognize the kid loitering around the office. He did however, recognize that the kid couldn’t be more than 10 years old, if that- and was therefore too young to be standing around anywhere, never mind outside the ‘Washington and Associates’ law firm.
It wasn’t quite time to pack up, but Thomas figured this was more important. Plus, no one else was dealing with it, or even noticing. He saved his work, and stood up.
“Leaving early?” James poked his head up, at Thomas’ movement.
“There’s a kid hanging around outside, it’s distracting,” Thomas explained. James peeked out the window, furrowed his brows, and nodded.
“Don’t take too long,” James reminded, turning back to his work. Thomas rolled his eyes and nodded, even though he knew James’ attention was already back to his work.
The kid jumped when Thomas opened the door, immediately turning around and looking down as if he just happened to be standing there. It wasn’t very convincing.
“Hi,” Thomas pitched his voice, warmer and completely devoid of his usual sarcastic drawl. “You’ve been standing out here for a while, is there anything I can help you with?” Up close, the kid was even smaller. The parents had better be nearby, or Thomas would be having words.
“Uhh,” The kid’s head bobbed up, then straight down, his mass of curls hiding his face. Thomas felt his heart thaw, just a bit- the kid was just shy. Which was fair, given Thomas was a tall, mysterious stranger. Even adults tended to be intimidated. Thomas leaned down, dropping to the kid’s level.
“That’s okay,” Thomas tried to put the kid at ease. “Could you tell me where your parents are, so we can find them?”
“Umm,” The kid started again, but this time he brushed his hair behind an ear and glanced up to Thomas’ chin. “Mom’s at her home, I’m s'posed to be with Dad this week, and he’s s'posed to be here. I think.” He nervously glanced up at the building. “There’s only one Washington law place, right?”
Ah, a divorced kid. “Yes, as far as I’m aware, this is the only Washington law place,” Thomas didn’t want to correct the kid and possibly confuse him. Still, he couldn’t stop an amused smile at the term ‘law place’. “Can you tell me your Dad’s name?”
The kid froze, paling instantly. “U-uh, it’s my Dad, um…” He started shaking. Crap.
Thomas thought quickly. “It’s okay, it’s okay!” He smiled wide, waving his hand in what he hoped was more comforting than dismissive, though he used it in the latter sense far more often. “Could you tell me your name, instead?”
“Oh!”, the kid grinned. “My name’s Philip Hamilton! I’m 8 years old!” Thomas nearly flinched. There was only one Hamilton who worked at Washington’s, and there was no way this was a coincidence. He should have guessed- Hamilton’s divorce was well known in lawyer circles, and now that he was looking for it, the kid’s face bore some resemblance. Standing in front of Thomas was his biggest work rival’s son.
There wasn’t anything for it, though. Thomas was hardly going to just leave the kid out here. “Nice to meet you, Philip. I work with your Dad. My name’s Thomas Jefferson.”
Philip’s eyes lit up in recognition. Thomas had just enough time to worry about what exactly the kid was recognizing. “Jefferson? Dad mentions you all the time! He says you’re really distracting!”
Distracting, huh? Not 'evil’, not 'idiotic’; nor any of the other insults Hamilton would shout to his face? Not even 'bad man’, if he wanted to soften it to his kid? Thomas itched to ply Philip for answers, for what Hamilton really thought; but it was the middle of winter and now was not the time.
“How about we wait inside for your Dad, and you tell me what you’re doing out here?” Thomas spoke cautiously, not sure how Philip would react to being asked to go somewhere with a relative stranger.
Strangely though, Philip’s shyness went straight out the window after his introduction. “Oh! That’s because Dad promised me this time, for real promised, that he’d get off work on time and take me to see a movie! I wanted to make sure he really would, so I looked up 'Washington law’ on google and bussed here all by myself!” Thomas led the way to the building as Philip chattered, small hand immediately latching onto Thomas’ fingers.
“That’s very cool!” Thomas enthused, opening the door and immediately shooting a glare at every person who stared. “Now, your Dad’s out now, the boss sent him to the courthouse to drop something off, but we can wait for him, alright?”
Philip beamed. “Alright! This place looks even cooler than I thought!” He was so enthusiastic, that Thomas couldn’t help but smile back. Hamilton would still be getting an earful, being so unreliable that his 8 year old child felt the need to escape his babysitter and bus through the middle of town to check up on him. Hell, did he even have a babysitter?
Thomas’ work was left, forgotten on his desk. James would clean up for him, this was more important. “What do you say to meeting your Dad’s boss?” He needed to at least explain the situation, after all.
“Mr. Washington? Yeah! Dad says he’s too nosy, and Mom says he’s basically like my second grandpa, even though I’ve never met him before.”
Thomas couldn’t stop the chuckle if he tried. “Did he? You’ll have to tell me more, later.” He joked, but Philip nodded anyways. This was far better than finishing his work.
Alex was determined to keep his promise, for real this time. He was not staying late, and if possible, he would even be home early. Washington owed it to him, for all that free overtime.
Unfortunately, all the owing in the world meant nothing when Washington ordered him to take some important documents to the courthouse, a good half hour away, when the day was nearly over. Alex could never say no to a direct request like that, even if Washington probably would have relented if he explained his circumstances.
No, he could do this and still be out on time, if he drove straight to Philip’s school, instead of back to the firm, first. Alex did so, driving as fast as he reasonably could.
Only, when he did that, Philip had already left, instead of waiting for him. In fact, he had left for the washroom in the last hour of class, and never returned, according to the teacher. Alex barely spared the time to chew them out for not keeping a better headcount, and then he was running off to his car and to home.
Philip wasn’t at home either. Alex started panicking in earnest. He could be anywhere, but why would he? Philip was so excited about going to see the movie, he wouldn’t have just run off today of all days, would he? But he alternative- if Philip hadn’t purposefully run off himself- was far worse. Alex started by doing circles of the neighbourhood, then the local parks.
Alex was focused; so focused that his phone remained in his pocket, battery dead before he’d even realized Philip was missing.
It must have been hours later, the sun starting to set, when Alex finally gave up. He had panicked somewhere early down the line, and never quite stopped. His limbs were shaking. Alex had lost his son.
He didn’t want to even think about the phone call he would have to make to Eliza. But first, he’d check the house again, just in case. Alex wasn’t holding out much hope at this point.
Alex was just stressed enough to miss the strange car behind his in the driveway. He was not, however, too stressed to notice two people sitting in his living room.
“Hamilton, about time!” Jefferson waved his arms enthusiastically, though something sharp glinted in his eyes. Alex’s brain stuttered for a moment at the sight of his coworker/rival relaxing in his home, but then Philip was bounding into his arms.
“Dad! Where the heck where you? Mr. Jefferson’s called you like, a million times!”
“Wha- Philip, where have you been? You weren’t at school, the teachers told me you disappeared, you weren’t at home, I’ve been worried sick, looking for you!” Harsh, panicked words spilled from Alex’s mouth, even as he seized his son in a fierce hug. “Don’t scare me like that!”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” Philip hugged back tight, voice suddenly subdued and guilty. “I just wanted to find you at work, so you’d actually go on time.”
Alex loosened his hug so that he could face Philip directly. “Wait, you what-?” Alex cut himself off, remembering the other person in the room. “Jefferson, why the fu-heck are you here?” Philip’s head poked up at Alex’s accusatory tone, brows furrowing in confusion.
“Nice save,” Jefferson smirked, always as irritating as possible. “Also, is that really the way you want to be speaking to the guy who’s been watching your kid all evening? When I could have been doing anything else with my time?”
There was no reason for Jefferson to be lying. In fact, that answer made the most sense, given that Jefferson had literally been in his home, watching Philip, when Alex got in there. Still though, this was Jefferson. Instinctive denial surged in his chest. “Excuse me-”
“I’m sorry!” Philip shouted again, lip trembling. He wasn’t looking at Alex though, instead facing Jefferson. “I didn’t mean to waste your day!”
Alex’s blood ran cold. That was exactly the opening one could never make to Jefferson- he could never hold back his infuriating sarcastic comments. He was going open his mouth and spout some negative bullshit that would make Philip cry, because Jefferson was an asshole who didn’t have any kids and probably hated them.
Jefferson did open his mouth, but his eyes were suddenly wide, with surprise and maybe guilt- something Alex had never seen him wear. He scrambled off the couch. “No no, I didn’t mean that, Philip! You’ve been great fun!” Jefferson assured, stepping over to crouch in front of Philip.
Philip looked up at him cautiously. Alex held his breath, completely taken aback. “Really?”, Philip whispered, and Alex could hear the tiny smile working its way into his voice.
“Of course!” Jefferson reached a hand over to ruffle his hair. “I got to read all your poems, and you got to hear all about the silly things your Dad does at work! It’s just that your Dad’s back now, so I should probable get going.” He gave Philip a wide grin, full of warmth and life.
Alex wasn’t sure he’d ever seen Jefferson with a smile like that. It did something to his stomach that he’d rather not analyze.
“No! You gotta stay for supper! We can’t do the movie anymore anyways, right Dad!” Philip bounced back, both emotionally and literally, on the balls of his feet.
Alex opened his mouth, searching for an excuse that wouldn’t upset Philip. Then, he glanced over to Jefferson. He was fidgeting, glancing away awkwardly. With a start, Alex realized he must have actually had fun. Somehow, Jefferson was actually really good with kids, if Philip’s excitement meant anything; and now he was standing there, in Alex’s house, looking more awkward and vulnerable than Alex had ever seen him.
“Yeah… yeah, he can stay. If he wants to.” Alex didn’t even want to guess what his face looked like right now. He wasn’t even sure what his feelings looked like right now. It was all a mess of exposed wires, his entire worldview turned on its head.
Jefferson flinched in surprise for a moment, eyes snapping to Alex. Then, he gauged Alex’s pure, undiluted confusion, and a smile slowly took his face, one that more closely resembled the teasing smirks Alex was used to. Now though, it seemed just a little less aggressive than Alex remembered.
“I suppose I can stay and tell your Dad all about how you skipped your last class, looked up his workplace online, and then bussed there all by yourself without telling anybody.” Jefferson shrugged, nonchalant.
“What! Mr. Jefferson, no!” Philip whined, even as he smiled broadly. “I’m gonna get grounded!”
Jefferson laughed. “Well, whose fault is that? You’re a little troublemaker!”
Philip spouted denials in between giggles. Alex felt his paradigm shift further off axis. “I guess I’ll get started,” Alex said, quiet and distant. He stood up and edged his way to the kitchen. Jefferson and Philip continued to chat in his hallway.
Somewhere between numb and completely unsure of himself, Alex turned the oven on and got out a frozen pizza. He took as much time as he could retrieving the round pan and opening the pizza box. Replaying in his mind was the smile Jefferson had made at Philip. His stomach flipped again.
“Hey,” Jefferson’s voice was calm and subdued, but made Alex jump a foot anyways. “I put the TV on for Philip.” He was right behind Alex, nearly crowding him into the counter. “I assume you want to know what’s been going on? No one’s been on the same page today.”
Alex swallowed. It wasn’t the first time Jefferson had crowded him, Alex had realized over time that it was more a matter of not knowing about personal space, rather than an active bid at intimidation. It was also overwhelming, especially now. “Uh,” Alex started, horrified at the squeak his voice made. “I guess not.”
Jefferson smirked- how could he not?- but relented, backing up a step. “It really wasn’t all that crazy. The kid showed up in the last hour of work, and no one else would do it, so I watched him. Tried to call your phone, I’m assuming it’s dead.” Alex dug into his pocket, pulling out a very dead phone. He paled. “No, it’s fine, it’s done.” Jefferson waved his hand dismissively. “I didn’t- I mean, it wasn’t awful.”
Alex paused at Jefferson’s stutter. His ears were pink. Adorable, Alex thought, then shook it from his mind. “Thank you,” he said instead.
“Uhhh,” Jefferson’s ears turned pinker. “No offense, but that sounds so weird coming from you.” Suddenly, he started laughing. “And I just said 'no offense’, which is even weirder!”
Alex snorted. Giggles stumbled their way between his lips, turning into chuckles, then full blown laughter. “Oh my God,” Alex wheezed, “This is so weird!”
Jefferson was howling right beside him. “I know, right?!”
Their laughs petered off, save for a quiet snicker from the distance. Both their heads whipped around- Philip peeked from the doorway. “Dad hasn’t laughed like that in ages,” He said knowingly. “You guys should hang out more. Hey, can Mr. Jefferson come with us to the movie, next time?”
Alex flushed, his mind stumbling to a stop, not sure if it was from the sheer audacity of the question, or how the idea of going out with Jefferson sounded too much like a date. His only saving grace was that it was probably the last thing Jefferson wanted, anyways. It didn’t matter that the sight of him being so nice to Philip did things to Alex’s heart.
“That sounds nice. If your Dad agrees.” Jefferson gave Philip an indulgent smile, then turned to Alex, question standing.  A quiet blush graced his cheekbones as well. He looked so much more attractive- cute, Alex’s brain supplied- when it was open like this. Usually, Jefferson’s appearance was the only attractive thing about him. Alex realized suddenly that he was gone- had been gone the moment Jefferson had revealed a side of himself that wasn’t pure opposition to everything Alex stood for.
“Alright,” Alex agreed. He needed to see where this was going. He was going to figure Jefferson out, or die trying.
One Year Later
“I’m going.”
“No, you’re not.”
“Bucky. I feel fine!! I’ve been fine all morning. I am going on this mission.”
Bucky opened his mouth to protest, but your determined expression stopped him, throwing his hands up in surrender.
You smiled victoriously, gathering the last of your gear and tugging the zipper closed on your duffel. The both of you already wore your combat gear, ready to board the Quinjet that was leaving in 10 minutes. Steve had interrupted breakfast saying there was a last minute mission so you and Bucky, along with Bruce, Clint, and Steve were heading out as soon as possible. Steve protested your joining the mission, too, which annoyed you. What was up with that?
One last scan around the room to make sure you had gathered everything, you met Bucky’s eyes.
“You ready, babe?” you asked him.
“Yup. How ‘bout you, doll?”
You paused, holding up one finger before you bolted for the bathroom and lost your breakfast. Aw, crap.
FAHC Jeremy because GOOD LORD I do not give Lil J enough love and that needs to change!
Sorry this took so long y’all!
Okay but FAHC Jeremy nearly shitting himself when Geoff offers him the promotion.
He’s looked up to the Fakes since he was just a kid fighting in underground rings for a meal. He’d heard tales of how Geoff had been broken out of prison with a limo and how Brownman had once driven a tank through downtown Achievement City just for shits and giggles. There was talk of a time when The Vagabond actually went on a Murder Break because Mogar didn’t think he could do it and had replaced his weapons with nerf guns. They were all stupid, silly, idiots but they ruled Achievement City and Jeremy desperately wanted to be a part of that kind of mayhem.
Jimin Scenario: Cats Are Fickle.
Request: Jimin has been ‘sharing’ your cat. When he’s really stressed or pissed or sad somehow your cat finds him and either curls up on his lap or hops a ride on his shoulders (kinda like a fluffy parrot). Your cat is also evil and an excellent matchmaker. (i really want a first meetings like in 101 dalmations were they get tangled together thanks to the cat) I’m sorry this is a mess
Genre: Fluff.
Jimin knew he shouldn’t have opened his mouth about his grade, the moment he lifted the test page and saw the results he shouldn’t have been surprised at all, but there he went, going to the professor to check it because he believed he had a better score, he was wrong of course, so he ended up with an even worse grade than before since the professor noticed he had not seen another of his mistakes.
Then there was the dance practice issue, he thought he was going to relax there since dancing was his thing, but Jimin the proper dancer had fallen a total of five times attempting a new footwork that shouldn’t have supposed him any trouble, now he was bruised and sore and the teacher had started to look for some other main dancers, “just in case” he had said, like that made him feel any better.
He arrived home almost at night, completely done already for the day, he wanted to take a break from everything, so he just stayed out of his house sitting on the porch, not ready for his mom to ask how his day had gone and him having to say that it had been a complete disappointment.
Jimin threw his backpack to his feet and suddenly an orange furry thing came to his view with a jump. He was already sitting on the steps but he still got startled by it, he didn’t expect seeing a cat on his porch.
-Hello- he said a bit tired as the cat stood there staring at him, maybe wondering if Jimin was going to do something. -It’s ok, you can be here- the cat kept staring at him until it came closer surprising Jimin, he saw the fluffy thing come near him, its fur was ginger with stripes of a deeper orange.
-Hi- he said again extending a hand slowly so to not scare away the little kitten. He was pleased when the cat approached his hand and let Jimin pet him. He noticed the cat had a blue collar, he was pretty friendly so this must be someone’s cat, but he didn’t know whose.
Jimin retreated his hand and sighed thinking again of the events of the day, the cat on the other hand jumped to his lap and made itself comfortable there.
-So you want company? I can say I’m good at that, I’m alone now though, but just because I had a horrible day- Jimin said to the cat, running his hand through the ginger fur, he wondered what would people think if they heard him talking to a cat that was not even his to begin with. -I don’t really care, I can talk to you buddy- he disregarded his own thoughts and smiled when the cat purred.
It was a male Jimin noticed after some minutes when the cat rolled in his lap, he wondered what his name was.
Jimin then noticed someone walked past his porch, it was his neighbor, he had seen you a couple of times before but he didn’t really know you. Now when you looked his way you stopped and smiled lightly.
-Romeo! There you are- you said with a happy tone of voice. You started walking his way making Jimin look curiously at you. -Oh I’m sorry, Romeo, what are you doing?-
—————————————————————————————
It was your third year of Hogwarts when you had your first encounter with Newt.
You were sitting at your house’s table when you heard someone sit down next to you.
“Can I sit here?” they asked.
You turned your head to the side to see a short boy with tousled brown hair and freckles sat next to you. He was wearing a Hufflepuff shirt and he looked distressed. As you were about to respond to him, you heard a couple of Slytherins yelling from their table.
“What a loser!”
“Haha, yeah! That kid will never be as smart as Theseus!”
You glanced at the boy sitting next to you and you could see the tears starting to gather in his eyes. Your heart really felt for this kid, even if you hadn’t met him before. Taking his hand, you gave him one glance before pulling him up from the table and walking out of the dining hall.
“W-where are we going?” he asked, slight tremors racking his voice. You could still hear the Slytherins yelling and laughing from where you were.
“You’ll see. I just don’t want you around those people anymore.”
You led him up to your house’s common room and sat him down on one of the couches.
“I’m sorry, I never even asked for your name before I dragged you up here!” You gave out a small awkward laugh and shyly glanced towards him.
“Oh, my name’s Newt, Yours?”
“Y/N.”
And those were the good days. The rest of the year was spent being with Newt, studying with him, exploring with him, and creating many memories. You had even started to develop feelings for him. However, once you entered your sixth year of Hogwarts, everything went downhill. Things weren’t the same when a girl named Leta entered Newt’s life.
You boarded the Hogwarts Express yet again, walking around in search of Newt. You looked around a little bit more and then recognized Newt in one of the train’s cabins. But, wait… He was with someone else. There was a girl sitting across from him. She had long, pretty black hair, and her porcelain skin was blemish free. She was gorgeous. Her and Newt were talking animatedly, smiling and laughing at what the other said.
Racking up the nerve to go in and introduce yourself, you slid open the cabin door. Both Newt and the girl looked up at you in surprise. Newt’s eyes widened and a grin spread across his face.
“Y/N! I was waiting for you to arrive! Meet my new friend, Leta. And Leta, meet my best friend, Y/N. I’ve known her since my fourth year here in Hogwarts.”
You glanced at Leta and smiled. She looked at you and smiled back. She seemed pretty nice.
And that was the calm before the storm. Ever since that day, Leta has been attempting to make your life a living hell, slowly creating a distance between you and Newt so she could latch onto him.
At first, everything seemed normal. But you soon started to notice that Newt was starting to ditch you more to be with Leta. She would try her best just to get Newt away from you, making up excuses that she’d need help to study or that she wanted to take notes on some of the animals Newt had found in the Forbidden Forest. There were no more late night hang outs with you and Newt, no more studying with Newt, and no more exploring with Newt. He would always be so gullible to believe in every word Leta said, leaving you in the dust.
Just like today. You had eaten breakfast with Newt and Leta today in the dining hall. Yesterday, Newt had promised to help you study for your Herbology test after breakfast today. As you were eating your food, you looked up at Newt to see him still talking to Leta. You had to ask him if he was still up for studying today.
You cleared your throat a little bit. Newt still didn’t look at you.
“Newt.”
“Hey Newt.”
“Newt!”
Nothing, Leta looked at you a little strangely, smirked, and then turned back towards Newt.
You then dropped your fork onto your plate, resonating a loud noise.
“Are you ok Y/N?” Newt finally looked up and decided to talk to you.
You were close to your boiling point now. Newt hadn’t talked to you in several days and he could barely take his eyes off of Leta just to talk to you. You felt betrayed, and a little heartbroken.
You sighed loudly. “Newt, I’ve been trying to get your attention for a while now. Anyways, do you still think you can help me study for my herbology test?”
“Oh… about that.” Newt glanced at you and then at Leta.
“I-I can’t help you after breakfast because I promised Leta that I would go to the forest with her so we could look for some new creatures. But, when we come back I promise you I will help you study!”
You looked down at your plate in despair. You just wanted to spend some time with Newt after being thrown out the window so many times, yet now he can’t even help you study for a little bit.
“Y/N?”
You stood up abruptly. “Nevermind, I’ll just go study on my own. Have fun.” Your voice was monotone, void of any emotion. At this point you just needed some time to really think about what your friendship with Newt really is now.
“Are you sure? Look, I’m really sorry, I promise I’ll come back and I’ll meet up with you at our meeting place at five tonight. Ok?”
You glanced back at Newt and Leta. Newt was staring at you with worry in his eyes, while Leta was looking at you with boredom. What else did you expect?
“Yeah, I’ll see you there.” You then rushed out of the dining hall. You felt like crying, you wanted to give Newt another chance tonight. Maybe he’d actually show up this time.
                                      ———————-
4:30
You started to gather all of your things from the library. You’d been studying all day just to take your mind off of your freckled face friend. Hopefully he’ll be on time today.
4:45
You arrived at the meeting place you and Newt had found a year back. It was an abandoned classroom that none of the teachers were using, so the both of you had figured that you might as well use it as a late night meeting place.
5:00
Nothing. Ok, well, the clock just struck five, he might just be a little late. You decide to wait a little longer.
5:30
Is there something wrong? Maybe one of the beasts that they found was being troublesome. Or maybe Leta was just holding them back a little bit. That wouldn’t be a surprise.
6:15
Ok. That’s it. You’ve given him enough time to return and yet he still wasn’t here.
You sighed angrily and packed up your things. As you left the abandoned classroom you could only think:
“Is it really that easy for him to forget me?”
The next day you woke up and went down to breakfast. You still hadn’t heard a single thing from Newt about his whereabouts last night, and strangely enough, he wasn’t at breakfast today.
You sat down at your houses table next to a friend of yours.
“Have you seen Newt? I need to talk to him.”
Your friend turned towards you and looked at you quizzically. “Haven’t you heard? He’s in the nursery because he got all beaten up by a troll last night in the forest. Leta was talking about it all morning.”
Your eyes widened and you glanced over to look at the Slytherin table only to see Leta laughing and smiling about something her friend told her.
What is wrong with her? Is she not at all worried about Newt? Did she even try to help Newt? There were no scratches or cuts on her whatsoever. You started to become so angry at Leta, but there was no point in starting a fight now. You needed to check on your best friend.
You stood up abruptly from the bench and rushed out of the hall. Little did you know, Leta had seen you leave and already knew where you were heading. She also stood from her seat and began following you as you quickly walked to your destination.
You had almost made it to the nursery when that annoyingly shrill voice stopped you.
“And where do you think you’re going?”
Leta.
Inhaling sharply, you paused before swiftly turning around to glare at her. She looked as beautiful as ever, her hair put up into a braided hairstyle, her face held no blemishes whatsoever, and her robes were void of any wrinkles, the Slytherin emblem standing proudly on the crest of her heart.
“Why do you care?” you sneered.
“You know, you don’t deserve him. He doesn’t even like you, yet you’re still lovesick for him.”
This pompous little brat I swear to God-
You almost laughed at your thoughts, before throwing all of your hatred for her into one sentence. “At least I care for him, unlike a certain witch-bitch I know.”
You didn’t stay to see Leta’s reaction, although if you had, you would’ve seen her perfect face scrunch up in absolute anger.
Walking away from Leta felt like the best thing you had done in a while. However, that feeling was soon shrouded by your worry for Newt.
You walked into the nursery, gazing at several white beds before coming across the eyes of your best friend.
Newt was battered up. He had a wrap around his head, several cuts and bruises on his legs, arms, and even his face. His left eye was swollen shut and was colored in a dark shade of purple. He looked terrible.
Your face soon contorted into one with worry, and you slowly walked over to Newt, almost as if you had to approach him like he would a wounded animal.
“Hey… Newt.”
He winced before turning to you. His right eye widened and he attempted to smile, but it soon turned to a grimace as a shock of pain spasmed through his head like a lightning bolt. Seeing his reaction to the pain, you rushed over to him and sat on his bed, taking his hand in yours. You couldn’t help but feel a slight shock run through your hand and up your arm, leaving a tingling sensation in it’s wake. God, you missed this so much. You haven’t had a moment alone with Newt in what felt like years, and your heart sped up with the feelings you had been trying to hide for so long.
“Shhh… It’s ok. What happened?” You brushed away a stray hair that had fallen onto his face, then allowing your hand to gently rest on his cheek to reassure that you were there for him. Newt sighed and leaned into your touch.
His voice was hoarse and low when he replied. “Leta and I were exploring in the forest when a troll came trudging by. Everything just went downhill from there and all I remember is trying to get out of there in one piece.”
You could only imagine how scared he must’ve been. Thoughts of the frightened kid you had met in your third year that had soon became your best friend. “I’m sorry that happened, Newt. Do you know how long you have to be here for?”
“It shouldn’t be much longer. There are always healing spells I can use. Listen, have you seen Leta?”
And there she was again. Plaguing his mind. You slowly took your hand away from his cheek and looked away. “Yes, she was at breakfast this morning, why?” Newt’s brows furrowed at the loss of warmth from your hand.
“I haven’t seen her since the incident.”
Sighing, you looked down at your hands before looking up at Newt, annoyance showing clearly in your eyes. “I don’t know what else you’d expect from someone like her.”
You regretted the words immediately once they came out of your mouth. Why would you say that? Granted, it was time Newt realized how toxic she was and how she had been using him for homework and to get under your skin. However, the look on Newt’s face made you feel absolutely terrible. He looked so confused and lost in what you had just said.
“What do you mean, ‘someone like her’?” The annoyance in his voice stabbed at you.
“Newt, look. I understand you care deeply for her, but can’t you see she’s using you? She only asks for help for homework, she never wants you to hang out with me alone, and just recently she had tried to stop me from coming here to see you! I can’t let you allow her to hurt you anymore!” Your voice had begun to rise higher and higher nearing the end of your sentence and your breaths were heavy after all you had said.
Newt laid there, pondering and turning the words you had said over and over in his mind.
“Did she really try to stop you from coming here?”
You only nodded in response. He looked down and began to fiddle with his own hands.
“I’m sorry I never realized before. I just thought she really cared for me. And she really seemed like my only friend for a long time.”
Now it was your turn to be confused. “What do mean ‘your only friend’?” Your voice was soft. He couldn’t really think you would’ve abandoned him. Right?
Newt looked to the side, averting your seemingly harsh gaze. “Well, you just seemed to distance yourself from me after a while. I thought you didn’t want to be around me.”
You paused, thinking of all the times you had refused to go somewhere with Newt after hearing he had invited Leta to join him as well. You cringed, not only was Leta attempting to distance you from Newt, but you allowed it to happen. You lessened the amount of times you were with him only because she would be accompanying the two of you. And you had failed to realize that you may be hurting Newt too.
Taking his hand in yours, you rubbed your thumb over the back of his hand. “I’m sorry I distanced myself from you. I just… couldn’t handle being around Leta after a while and I tried to avoid her as much as I can. I really care for you Newt, and I never intended for that to happen.”
Newt smiled. “I care for you too.”
He gently took your hands in his, pulling you down onto him. You gasped at the sudden contact with chest, however he only shushed you and began gently stroking your hair.
“Y/n, I care for you more than you think.”
Babysitting
Requested: Hi! I have a 6 year old half sister and 6 month old half brother, so I’m quite a bit older than them, and I was wondering if you could write something were Y/N and Shawn babysit them and just lots and lots of fluffy goodness please! Love your writing ♡
~~~

“When is Shawny coming?” Your little sister asks for what seems like the hundredth time today. You’re watching your six year old sister and six month old brother for the weekend because your parents went out of town for your dad’s business. It’s the first time that they’re leaving your little brother home with you. Since he’s only six months old, he’s a lot of work to care for, but you love your siblings and don’t mind watching them for the weekend.

“He said he’d text me when his airplane lands, remember? And you’ll be the first to know when that text comes.” You want to be irritated at her for asking the same question so many times, but you can’t actually bring yourself to be irritated because its adorable how excited she is to see your boyfriend. You’re just as excited to see him, and you’re glad that your little sister has taken so well to him. Sometimes you joke that she likes him more than she likes you, and it actually might be true.
