still one of my fave scenes

rainyeveryday  asked:

i'm so glad I'm not the only one having strong sherlock feels at the moment

Oh dear, I’m having strong Sherlock feels ALL THE TIME!!!

honestly, although series 4 wasnt my fave, for many reasons that i shan’t discuss here, I’m still crazy in love with this series.

these actors.

these scenes.

these feels.

that cinematography.

that music

this fandom.

I shall never leave.

Never forget that in Season 1 Leopold James Fitz was offered the choice:

“Your skills are required. If you volunteer, you’ll receive a high rank and all the resources you could ever need. If you refuse, you’ll receive no rank, and a lot of pain, and you’ll do it anyway.”

And not only did he chose the ‘lots of pain’ option, he threatened the guy that offered it to him.

People were interested in me doing a thing like this, so here we go! I figured I’d do a short little blurb about each writer, including one or two of my favorite works by them. So, in no real order (like, I literally randomized the list) here are some of the most talented people* whose art I’ve had the pleasure of reading:

*Please note that some of these people haven’t written for bellarke in a while! That doesn’t mean you should pester them about it! Appreciate the heck out of what they have written instead. Cool? Cool.

1. Maria @rebelprincebell AO3

Maria’s written a good variety of longer and shorter fics, and each of them is excellent. (She’s also an amazing human/friend, but that’s more of a side perk.) She’s currently writing Things We Shouldn’t Do which is what everyone wants out of a multi-chap, fake-dating, actors AU. Or for something shorter, check out T.O.P. S.E.C.R.E.T. for some friends-with-benefits/feelings-reveal goodness. And maybe if she loves me she’ll finish Let’s Go to the Mall but it’s nbd.

2. Steph @ofhobbitsandwomen AO3

I read The Squire (multi-chap, medieval AU) when I was pretty new to the fandom, and I’m still completely in awe of it. Steph’s also written a million other amazing bellarke fics, like this fluffy-af youtubers AU (and, recently, some fucking amazing Jyn/Cassian stuff, if you’re into that) so make sure to check out all of her incredible writing.

3. M @ahmren AO3

M’s writing is magical. At the risk of sounding cliche, it wraps you up and carries you to another world. I could survive on nothing but her collection of soulmate AUs for years to come.

4. Chash @ponyregrets AO3

Chash has written a million and one amazing fics, so obvs read everything she’s written, but one of my particular faves is Some Cheese With That Whine. It gives me all the best-friends-to-lovers feelings. Amazing. Plus she likes all my posts when I’m flailing about ffx <3

5. Katelyn @nathenmiller AO3

Secrets is the only arranged marriage fic you ever need to read. Period. I also love this fluffy lil childhood-friends-meet-up-ten-years-later AU. Plus, on top of all the fantastic writing, K’s one of the incredibly hardworking ladies behind bff. What a girl??

6. Lana @marauders-groupie AO3

Lana’s another one of those writers where I know I’ll like everything she publishes. She’s like, the queen a soulmate AU’s. Her most recent one is here–a cool iteration where you feel whatever pain your soulmate feels. As with all the other authors here, don’t forget to check out all her other stories!

7. Kacka @katchyalater AO3

I discovered Kacka this summer, and her stories saved me from boredom on the countless train rides I was taking across Europe. By which I mean you should just read through everything on her AO3 page, like I did. Everyone loves a good coffee-shop AU, right? Check out Got to Find Those Extra Cups to Fill. She’s a fantastic, inspiring writer and an even lovelier human being.

8. Emily @prosciuttoe AO3

Emily had the nerve to make me cry by posting a canonverse fic, Hold This Heart Steady, today. So do yourself a favor and read that. Other Emily faves include: Your Heart Is Your Own (So Build Me A Home) and Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic (for all your Hogwarts AU needs).

9. Brianna @jvnscass AO3

Bri’s another one of the authors I first read when I joined the fandom! She doesn’t write much bellarke anymore, but it’s all still up on her AO3 along with a ton of quality Jyn/Cassian fics, if that’s your jam!

10. Nai @hiddenpolkadots AO3

Want canon-verse smut? Nai’s got u covered: Mouth Like Heaven, Kisses Like Stars. Or for something on the fluffier/hurtcomfort side, try the light that sits at the bottom of your chest. You literally can’t go wrong. She writes Jily too!

11. Kayla @kay-emm-gee AO3

Kayla’s the first person I ever considered my “favorite fanfic author” and the title still fits, even if I do have about a million “favorite” authors now. Full Circle is an older, post s2, fic of hers, but it’s undeniably still one of my faves. A more recent fave is: this is your heart (can you feel it). These are both canonverse, but she writes amazing modern AUs as well. <3

12. Meghan @bellamyfrecklefaceblake AO3

I feel like Meghan writes the best epic-feelings-reveal scenes?? Some faves are: A Drunk Mind Speaks A Sober Heart and You Won’t Get Rid of Me Without a Fight. I want to live in the feelings at the end of these fics pls and thx. (Also, hope your hand is doing better!!)

13. Mel @caramelkru AO3

Is it getting old for me to keep saying I like everything insert-name-here writes?? I’d stop, except that it’s TRUE. Mel is fantastic. Her last installment in Good Times Gonna Come is so cute I can’t actually stand it. Something In The Air (That Night) is also super good. (She also writes Sethkate and Jyn/Cassian!)

(Okay I’m running out of time for these last few–gotta get to class–so I’ll just do one fic rec from each writer, BUT they’re all such fucking talented authors. Everything they write is amazing.)

14. Katie @dreamingundone AO3

take a running start

15. Jazz @hooksandheroics  AO3

Out of All the Gin Joints

16. S @kinetic-elaboration  AO3

Since There’s No Place To Go

17. Amber @bilexualclarke  AO3

asleep in the bathtub (also, like… her blog title doesn’t lie)

18. Emily @kieraknighted  AO3

Walk With Me

19. Annie @clarkescrusade  AO3

those broken and delicate things

20. Julia @enoughtotemptme  AO3

Aurora Borealis

21. @queenofchildren  AO3

But We Fight For Roses Too

I also asked for some lesser known fic recs, so check these out!

Lay It All On Me by @peetaspikelets

The Thing About Pre-Med by theprincessandtheking

In My Dreams We Are Always Together by andsowemeetagain

OKAY PHEW. I think that’s everything. As a last note, don’t forget to appreciate your favorite authors! A comment or reblog here and there goes a long way. Kudos and likes are lovely, but not quite as tangible as comments and tags.

Happy Reading!

Doctor Who Panel - Ottawa Comic Con 2017

I haven’t made a post here for a long time but this is the most fandom thing I’ve done in a while and wanted to share. I attended the DW Panel and we had Peter Capaldi, Alex Kingston and Jenna Coleman in Ottawa which was great because we never get anyone and certainly not a current Doctor. They were all wonderful and I really enjoyed the event. Here are some of the highlights (I say highlights but this is basically the whole thing)

Q: Peter Capaldi (PC) what do you look for in a partner?
PC: longevity

Q: Fave monsters?
PC: Likes the Daleks but his long time fave are the Zarbi from the episode “The Web Planet”
Alex Kingston (AK): When she was young, she liked the Cybermen but now its the Silence (she never actually said the name, she acted like she couldn’t remember it and Jenna ended up being the one to say it)
Jenna Coleman (JC): She also likes the Silence. She finds the scariest monsters are the ones which never have to run but move slowly

Q: Fave Dalek scene?
JC: When she was a Dalek (“Asylum of the Daleks”)
CP: When they were shrunk and put into a Dalek (someone from the crowd shouted rusty, “Into the Dalek”)
AK: When she killed a Dalek (”The Big Bang”)

Q: Fave emotional scene without giving away any spoilers?
JC: The diner scene. It was shot over two days as they shot some of it in the diner and the rest in the studio. She didn’t think the parts shot in the studio were meant to be emotional, when she enters her Tardis. But Peter was there when he didn’t have to, in his own clothes, and seeing him there made her emotional
AK: Saying good bye to David, getting the ‘piss off’ (her words) from Matt, and for Peter it was hard for both of them to hold back their emotions but still be able to show it to the audience, of knowing what was in store for each other without the other knowing.

Q: Jenna asked what it felt like dying
JC: She read in the script a raven was meant to fly at her, but she didn’t know what to expect on set and whether they would actually get a raven which would be made to fly at her. So when that didn’t actually happen she was so relieved she kept forgetting to actually die.

Q: Choose a show or movie for Doctor Who to do a crossover
PC: Game of thrones, because the Doctor can definitely take down the white walkers
AK: Lord of the Rings, and the Doctor to face the Orcs
JC: The Thick of it (so Pc vs PC lol)

Q: If they could choose a name for the Doctor what would it be
JC: Bob
PC: Doesn’t believe the Doctor’s name can be understood by humans, so it isn’t a word
AK: When she was shooting the scene where River Song whispers the Doctor’s name, the first take she whispered the name Shaniqua (lol) and caused an NG. She kept changing the name every time they shot the scene but wouldn’t say the other names

Q: Fave line?
PC: I’m the Doctor
AK: Hello sweetie
JC: Chin boy, show me the stars and Run you clever boy
(They got into a discussion led by PC, that Steven Moffat likes to notice peoples different quirks and bring it into the script. So it’s not a trait of the Doctor but the actor e.g. like how he runs funny.

Q: PC why does Doctor who appeal to young people today especially with an episode like “Thin Ice”?
PC: (I loved how he answered this question and I’m not going to do it justice but here goes) There are a lot of things going on in the world right now which are bad, terrible and crazy. And it’s up to writers to put across a message about the times we live in. The Doctor sees things from a different perspective from all of time and space, to see what’s truly good and what’s truly bad. It’s in the Doctor’s character and we all have to keep saying it

Q: Do they have any input into how their character is written?
JC: The script is fluid during filming and Moffat can put a joke she said before hand into the script
AK: Likes how Moffat writes characters to be unique, so they have their own speech pattern. You can see a line without naming a character, but you can still picture exactly who would say it
PC: Even though he doesn’t change the lines they can interpret and deliver the lines differently from how they are written in the script

Q: Fave episode?
JC: Vincent and the Doctor, likes she get to meet such influential people from the past
AK: Also really loved Vincent and the Doctor, and that the Doctor was able to take him into the future and show him how people admired his genius and talent (honestly one of my fave scenes also)
PC:  Frontier in Space (To him only six people cheered after he said this so jokingly wondered if we are all really Doctor Who fans in the audience)

Just some things I took note of

  • JC knew for a year she was leaving the show. They had already decided that Clara could not return to Earth, so she was happy with the ending
  • AK told us David Tennant loves playing cards. And him and Catherine Tate played a game between takes which she joined, to name a band from the last letter of the previous band named. They all got so into it they were more into the game than the actual scenes
  • Alex was asked if she would do a show with John Barrowman as River Song and Captain Jack Harkness. She walked over to Peter and covered his ears by placing his head against her stomach and covering the other with her hand, and whispered yes into the microphone.
  • They are all for the next Doctor being a girl, PC added a woman as well. If they could choose an actress to be the Doctor AK choose Frances de la Tour, PC choose Melissa McCarthy, and JC declined to answer sort of hinting she could be in the running (the host added because the Doctor can choose a face he has known i.e. like PC)
  • AK says she can’t have a fave Doctor because it’s the same person but he is like a snake which sheds its skin (loved the metaphor), but River Song enjoys that the different Doctors come in different shapes and sizes ;)
  • PC told us his punk rock band was called Dream Boys (was very embarrassed by this admission) and his stage outfit was a white shirt and a bow tie. So he has always loved bow ties
  • The fave character AK has played is Lady Macbeth. She never grew up believing she would be on tv as Britain doesn’t have Hollywood like America. So hoped to make it in theater
  • PC was asked what it was like being a side character on DW before becoming the Doctor. He gave a funny excerpt of how he sneaked into the Tardis and played with the console because he thought it would be his one and only chance in the cheapest toga ever made (thankfully it wasn’t)

“Was there music playing? She’d forgotten. The world had shrunk into nothing, dissolved by the golden glow of candles. But there were her feet, and here was her arm, and her neck, and her mouth. She smiled and took his hand, still keeping one eye on the ball around them.”

here it is! finally! my doraelin piece!! :D I’m so excited to finally post it <3 the ballroom scene from the first book is such a personal fave. everything is so perfect and fairytale-esque, I had to paint it! anonymous asked:

could you do teacher(s) Drarry please?

YESSSS. I LOVE TEACHER!DRARRY

All Life is Yours to Miss by Sara’s Girl (114k)
Professor Malfoy’s world is contained, controlled, and as solitary as he can make it, but when an act of petty revenge goes horribly awry, he and his trusty six-legged friend are thrown into Hogwarts life at the deep end and must learn to live, love and let go.
(This fic OWNS ME. It’s so dear to me, one of the few that truly resonates with me on a personal level. I love following Draco’s journey in this.)

Professor Potter and His Magical Menagerie by dracogotgame (7.5k)
Harry Potter descends on Hogwarts with a horde of magical beasts. Professor Malfoy is not amused.
(I love the writing style in this, it is all kinds of hilarious. So much brilliance crammed into this short lil’ fic, obliviousness, awkward flirting, yesssss.)

Only For The Lucky by SunseticMonster (73k)
Things seem to be going well for Draco Malfoy after the war. He’s working as a professor at Hogwarts and makes the papers all the time for his charitable contribution to Muggle causes. But when Malfoy is rushed into St Mungos hospital for a psychotic break, Healer Harry Potter realizes that Malfoy’s success is not all what it seems and sometimes luck can have more than one meaning.
(One of my big faves, I love the characterization of Draco in it. It’s so angsty and hilarious and all around excellent. I have so many favorite scenes.)

Draco’s Delicious Dilemma by darkmagicalgirl (5k)
Draco Malfoy bravely deals with new coffee shops, Harry Potter, low-sympathy coworkers, feelings, free muffins, Looks, and some extremely rude signage.
(I am still laughing over this one, it is a real treat. Sassy shop signs, Harry is a cinnamon roll, they give each other Looks. You won’t want to miss this one.)

The Critiquer by dysonrules (24k)
When Harry submits his cock photo to a renowned Cock Critiquer and gets a terrible review, he decides to take a photography class to hopefully improve his skills.
(A classic. I love this fic so much, it is cracktastic and really well-written. Great characterizations. Teacher!fic because Draco teaches a photography class!)

More Than That by joosetta (10k)
This is a story about two 52 year old men who refuse to age gracefully.
(Meaning they are total dorks, lmao. There’s a softness to them in this, it begins all casual but then before they know it, they’re in love. Siigh.)

Lessons in Humility by playout (86k)
After the dissolution of his marriage and a good bit of soul-searching, Harry returns to Hogwarts as the new Defense teacher. Go figure, it happens to be the same year Draco takes over the role of Potions Master. Neither man is happy about this turn of events. Will they be able to set aside their differences and learn a thing or two about trust and humility on the way? (Spoiler Alert: Yes. Very much so.)
(ALL THE SWEET AMAZING FLUFF AND DOMESTICITY. I could honestly cry with all the feels this fic gives me. So lovely, so funny, so so good.)

Newts by astolat (13k)
“I’m twenty-eight!” Harry said. “I’ve been an Auror for ten years! You want me to go back to Hogwarts now?“
(Only Drarry can go from trying to constantly one-up each other to shagging each other senseless at every opportunity like this. LOVE IT.)

Bonus:

Are You There, God? It’s Me, Draco by floweringjudas (20k)
Harry and Draco are straight Aurors. Then they’re gay teachers. It makes sense in context.
(I’ll admit I haven’t actually read this one yet, but a friend of mine is BEGGING me to add it to this list because it made her laugh so much. So there!)

the lirry kid!fic rec that nobody asked for but i did it anyway

lately there has been a lot of lirry + kids on my dash and that stuff always makes me a bit (a lot) emotional so i decided to make a list of fics where at least one of them is a parental figure of some kind so you all can be emotional with me.

under the cut are 13 fics, sorted by word count, that are my absolute faves when it comes to lirry and kids. (and 4 bonus fics bc i can’t control myself.) with not only a summary but also my thoughts and feelings (that are mostly just incoherent screaming don’t judge me).

So, i am in a process of compiling reasons why Flash should get rid of WA - feel free to redact , add more and argue with any of the points below.

1. WA is incestous. This is a point that gets most of WAs reeling, because “Barry and Iris don’t see each other as brother and sister”. But.  Barry is adopted into West family after his mother dies and father is arrested, he grows up with Joe and Iris and calls Joe his dad (and the other way around), and they all call each other a family.  I agree, Barry and Iris never acknowledge each other as brother and sister, but Iris’s behavior throughout pretty much all of season 1 confirms she sees Barry only as her nerdy adoptive brother and a friend, but not as a potential boyfriend material.

As a comparison  : let’s take Alex and Kara from Supergirl. Would you call their pairing incest? I am sure you would. But it is almost exactly the same story as the WA - an orphaned child gets adopted by a family where an adoptive sibling becomes her best friend. The only difference is that Kara and Alex are both females (and yes, as of now Kara is positioned as straight- but judging by the longing looks she gives Lena Luthor, I bet she is a bi).

2. Barry’s obsession with Iris is unhealthy. It is rooted in his deep psychological trauma and loneliness, sort of a coping mechanism for the emotional bubble he ended up in after his mother’s death. He is very isolated when he grows up, and of course he focuses on Iris who is his only friend at that time - and one of a very few sources of emotional support. Once he hits puberty, his connection to Iris turns sexual (while Iris’s doesn’t).

No matter how much you paint his obsession with Iris as cute or romantic or “true love”- it is not.  It is very unhealthy to be so focused on one person (for over a decade! ) that you are incapable of forming a long lasting healthy relationship with another.

3. It is forced. If Eddie hasn’t conveniently kicked the bucket in season 1, WA would not have happened (or would’ve, but much much later down the road).  The whole theory of WA being the true love is pushed on the viewers in form of constant verbal confirmations and “visions from the future” - which to me is not very convincing.

As a matter of fact, i find it rather disturbing that Iris only starts considering and convincing herself that she loves Barry after she is constantly pushed into it by Barry and Joe (also, I personally find Joe’s fetish shipping of two of his children appalling).

She shows literally no sign of being interested in Barry right until she learns he is the Flash. She is also completely oblivious about his feelings (which i find very hard to believe, esp if they are supposed to be best friends- no one can be THAT blind, esp not a cops daughter and a talented journalist), OR, which i think is more likely- she simply ignores them because she doesn’t feel the same way.

-> a side note- Iris’s “path” to being in love with Barry could’ve been done much more organically. Say, if Eddie didn’t die, but over the time Iris found herself more and more drawn to Barry, eventually breaking up with Eddie on her own accord. But i guess it’s too much to ask of the writers- they’d rather just throw the female character into a relationship cause who cares about her development anyway, right?

4. It brings out the worst in both Iris and Barry.

True love and a perfect relationship should make both sides better, should push them to strive for excellence. But this is the opposite of what we got right after WA becomes canon:

Barry immediately becomes OC and stops caring about pretty much anyone but Iris once he gets into her pants - but this is not the Barry we all fell in love with in season 1. Where is the compassion, where is the comraderie, where is the care he always displayed towards original Starlabs team?

Same happens to Iris. As soon as there is a change of the wind towards WA, she becomes selfish and possessive. Remember that brief moment of mental clarity when Barry decided to try and get over his obsession with Iris? He even started wooing Lynda. But as soon as Iris felt she was loosing Barry’s attention she went on and screwed that relationship up. (And yes, she was verbally supportive of Barry’s relationships- but actions speak louder than words).

As Killer Frost said- As long as you get what you want, it doesn’t matter who gets screwed in the process.

And that’s true for both of them.

5. It lacks chemistry.

This one is probably the most subjective, but for me, personally, WA doesn’t seem to have any romantic chemistry whatsoever. I can compare that to Westhawne that was cute and seemed very organic, or to Snowbarry, that is not yet canon but still sparks fly in every Caitlin-Barry scene, or even to Coldflash (Captain Cold and the Flash)- cause damn, even Captain Cold and Barry have more chemistry than the WA!

I also can’t stop myself from comparing WA to other 2 “iconic” interracial relationships of my 2 fave shows- Bamon (Bonnie and Damon on Vampire Diaries) and Ichabbie (Ichabod and Abbie Mills on Sleepy Hollow), and when i do, WA loses every time.  Where Bamon is fireworks of chemistry, WA is a bland aggregation of romantic cliches; where Icchabie is a perfect example of friendship-turned-to-love and relationship pushing both sides to be better and stronger, WA is a toxic mess that forces both sides to make irrational and costly mistakes. And all that while WA is the only one that is canon.

What a waste of opportunity.

6. It reduced Iris to a useless damsel in distress aka just a prompt for Barry’s storyline.

Where is Iris’s character development? The moment WA got together, Iris lost all her autonomy and any hints of development.

Where is the renown journalist Iris that got even Snart complimenting her? Where is an undercover investigator Iris who got a pulitzer prize for her writing? Where is all of that? Why is Iris reduced to being Barry’s girlfriend? She had so much potential, but now she is nothing more but a prop for Barry’s storyline. She constantly spends time in Starlabs, taking on duties usually done by other characters (esp Caitlin) - when she should be investigating and writing articles.

I am not a big fan of Iris but this is just a waste of a potentially very interesting character, and i don’t understand how WAs can call themselves Iris  fans when they support such a degrading treatment of her by the writers.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

Yesterday I went to the cinema and watched the fifth movie of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean. As I heard the subtitle Dead Men Tell No Tales I was really exited - what a great title! And the trailer was awesome and I wanted to watch this movie so badly, I have waited ages for it to come out. So here is my review and again, this is just my opinion on the movie (before you start: I’m really sorry if there are any mistakes in this text, I’m just very tired and a mess :D).

The story itself was a good one. I liked the story line but I think it was a little bit too much sometimes. Just finding the trident to destroy Will’s the curse and getting rid of Salazar at the same time would be enough. But there was a lot more going on with the witch and the finding-my-fathers-legacy-thing with Carina and later the wedding was just a little bit too much. What I don’t get is why they involved the figurehead of the Silent Mary in the fight scene of Jack and Salazar - I mean fighting against “just” an undead Capitán is not easy at all. What I really liked is the flashback to young Jack and how he trapped Salazar and his crew in the Devil’s Triangle. In the end of the scene you could see how Jack become the new captain and his crew gives him tributes; They gave him some jewelry which he wears in his hair which was a pretty cool idea to tell how Jack got them. Salazar told Barbossa in the end of the scene why Jack’s surname is Sparrow which was another little detail I reeeaally liked. You get to know Jack better and I liked that a lot you have much more information.

The underwater scenes were a cool idea but it took me a bit to find out where the water is, so where the undead crew can be and where Carina, Jack and Henry could stand - that was a little bit confused. The destroying of the trident was very fast when you compare that scene to the On Stranger Tides scene with the hole chalice-thing, it was very rushed. But the underwater thing was really cool, the hole setting was awesome! I expected more magic, you could see some but not that much as in the last movie which made me a little bit sad.  I nearly cried in the end, as Barbossa jumped of the anchor and killed the human Salazar to safe his daughter and her friends, that made me really sad.

The reunion of Will and Elizabeth was very heart warming and as Jack said the last sentence, I felt very happy and nearly cried again: “Now, bring me that horizon!”

The jokes were funny, I laughed a lot. “Captain Salamander” is going to be a running gag in my clique, I see it coming :D. The donkey jokes were really cool too - the hole movie was funny, the characters were just hilarious, the jokes were well placed.

What I also don’t get is why they always change the title in the countries. I watched it in Germany so the title is Salazar’s Rache (engl. Salazar’s Revenge). Don’t get me wrong the revenge-title still sounds cool (because Salazar wants revenge) but you don’t really get the Dead-Men-Tell-No-Tales-Part: Salazar only keeps one member of a ships crew alive so he can tell the tale later - and this is the connection with the title, so why change it?

The camera angles were really good! One of my faves where Salazar was about to drown in the Devil’s Triangle and slowly turned around; then he was facing the audience and opened his eyes - brilliant!

The ship scenes were awesome, the camera went in the bird’s-eye view over the ships and later along the ships. The shots of Salazar and Jack fighting on top of the cannons were not bad either, it was really intense with and you could feel the rising action with it.

I was really disappointed that I didn’t heard the music that much because I was focused on the screen; I bloody love Hans Zimmer’s music and the Pirates of the Caribbean themes are one of his best, I can play He’s a pirate, Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, Mermaids or Blackbeard all day long. But I couldn’t experience his music that much in this movie. I’m gonna look the music up later but in the cinema I barely had a connection to it. Of course, I recognized the most used songs which were placed perfectly but I think putting the music a little bit in the foreground would have made it even better. But what I’ve heard was awesome – great job Hans!

So then to the actors! I won’t gonna fangirl that much so you are not going to read a hole essay about every actor in the movie :D:

Johnny Depp: Captain Jack Sparrow. The pirate. Well played, mate, well played. He was just excellent as Captain Jack Sparrow as usual: funny, with good and bead ideas and his love is the sea (and the Black Pearl).

Geoffrey Rush: Captain Hector Barbossa. The legend. I could die for his “Jaaaaaaack!” it’s just the best. Barbossa is one of my fave characters/villains of all time, Geoffrey is just an amazing actor and I was really sad as Barbossa died - but he did it for his daughter. Heroes always get remembered but you know legends never die.

Brenton Thwaites: Henry Turner. The son. He was the one I was most exited about as a new character. Henry was a great character he kept the story line running and interacted really good with the other characters. Brenton, you did a great job, I liked Henry a lot!

Kaya Scodelario: Carina Smyth/Barbossa. The believer. Carina is always focused and believes in the book, her father gave her. In the end her faith was the solution of the problem and she also got to know who her father is. Kaya’s facial expressions were very good - her hole acting was good, I really liked the way she portrait Carina!

Javier Bardem: Captáin Armando Salazar. The villain. Bad, cruel and very well played. He was scary and interesting at the same time Javier did a very good job! He portrait him way different than other villains and that made it good; seeing someone playing a character likely Barbossa or Davy Jones wouldn’t be that interesting, right? And every good story need an old fashion villain – Salazar was a great one.

(Just found out that Paul McCartney was Uncle Jack - I didn’t recognize him! But the role was very funny I liked that they included another family member of Jack.)

To summarize the hole movie I just wanted to say again that I really liked the movie, I can’t wait when the DVD is out and I can do a hole Pirates of the Caribbean movie night with my girls! There were parts I didn’t like and parts I loved but I think every movie has that and everyone likes and dislikes parts of movies ;). I would highly recommend you to watch this movie (especially in 3D - it was just the best!) it is really good: You laugh, you cry, you have a good time and it’s very exciting.

I’m not sure if I want another Pirates of the Caribbean movie or not; I can’t decide. One part of me screams “YEEEEEEES, OH MY GOD PLEASE DO ANOTHER ONE!!” and the other part is like “Nah, that’s a good ending, let it be.” As we walked out of the cinema my friend Tessa told me she was feeling the same about it; but a hole new series with Henry Turner would be awesome which I totally agree on. But as I said, I’m not sure and I’m not the one deciding if they gonna do another movie; If they make one, I’m gonna watch it, obviously :D!

I will always be a big fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, the movies are one of my faves. I just wanna say again, this is just my opinion on this movie so don’t be mad at me, aye?

five fave fics

i totally forgot that i started this and never finished it, but @a-candle-for-sherlock tagged me a while ago now to say a little something about my five favorite fics i’ve written. so, out of my completed fics on ao3, here are my five faves:

Never Have I Ever

this is the first full-length fic i ever wrote, so it’ll always be special. it took a lot of work to get the progression of the statements right throughout the game, and the whole bit in the sitting room is still one of my favorite scenes i’ve written. i love the emotional whiplash sherlock goes through there. plus, drinking game-related love confessions are a tropey classic, and who can resist a good take on a trope?

any excuse for them to dance is always a good thing in my book. and i really love the way that this one is quiet because sometimes they don’t need tons of conversation–they just need to finally let themselves hold each other. if i could art at all, this is definitely one i’d draw.

Come home.

two words for you: soft sexting. i love the sexting trope, and i love when a pwp has a heavy dose of feelings mixed in, and this fic totally covers both. i just really have a soft spot for this one.

not to get too sappy, but the experience of writing this fic with darcy def changed my life. that alone is enough to put this in the top five, but i’m also immensely proud of this one. we came up with some creative ways to tell the story within the limits of the epistolary style, and i think we wrapped everything up in a way that stays true to who john and sherlock are and everything they’ve been through. also, there’s so much delicious angst in the middle of this one (with a happy ending of course), and any of my friends will tell you that i am an absolute sucker for that.

i like setting things up and then taking them in a slightly different direction than expected, which i think this fic does well. plus who doesn’t love some good christmas fluff? fairy lights and christmas carols and snow always make for a little bit of first kiss magic, and these boys definitely deserve a little more magic in their lives.

i don’t know who has and hasn’t been tagged in this already, so if you want to do this one, do it and say i tagged you. <3

out of all the characters on the get down i did not expect francisco cruz to end up being my fave but here i am crying about how he, after 17 years, is still waiting for his love and cares so much about his “niece” (i mean come on shes not his niece theres no doubt at this point) and is this father figure to the community like this man was born to be a father but he cant even be that for his own daughter like….???? and dont even get me started on the dance scene that was so unexpected yet one of the most beautiful scenes in the show imo, im a slut for middle aged people with unresolved love drama like im thriving but im also in pain ya feel?

idk if any of u remember asdaf movies but they were like . the shit back in middle school for me & my friend group right like we literally fucking loved asdaf movies and quoted them daily

but god my fave? the one that still makes me laugh harder than anything? fucking that. that one that got taken out of one of them for some reason and was a “behind the scenes” clip

where this dude is like “who parked their car….on my sandwich?” and some random dude just is like “i did!’ and the first dude gets so pissed he fucking explodes
