I loved TTYD and it got me into the Paper Mario series. But as much as I loved it, Color Splash ended up being my favorite because it had a lot of nostalgia that appealed to an older gamer like me (a 30+ year old). That and, though I never played Sticker Star, I overall did enjoy the game play (while I play them, I'm overall not a fan of RPGs. I hate the grinding and side quests, etc.).
(my opinion incoming)
tbch i think Color Splash is the most underrated Paper Mario game. similar to you my entry title was Super Paper Mario but i ended up playing the first two games leading up to Color Splash because of all the controversy (e.g. TTYD fans complaining that CS wasn’t their Paper Mario). while i enjoyed both the N64 and GameCube games immensely, i still thought that the gameplay and atmosphere of Color Splash was the most fun overall. the level design in particular was pretty stellar with interesting themes all around, the graphics and sound upheld their environments fantastically, and the writing is probably the best in the series.
that being said, the battle system, while not broken, definitely lacks the depth of the first two games (especially TTYD) with the lack of partners and badges. and as much as i love the Toads, i do wish characters’ designs were a bit more varied. interesting locals were a standout in previous entries, so to see that change was a little disappointing.
but i still think Color Splash, like the other Paper Mario games, is awesome!
tldr: i love Color Splash and i’m very happy that others feel the same way
I can see Dark, who is already heavily influenced by Celine in cannon, going down a different path with his revenge plans- ting to the occult and magic and becoming a witch. (She’d probably use a more feminine name, or one that stars with C instead of D, probably space themed- maybe Stellar or Caelum)
Hehe, of course, new footage from the blue jacket Lupin III show drops while I’m on vacation!
But, oh my! The animation is looking so wonderful! It’s so cool that the Italian audience are getting their own theme song. Regardless of whether or not you like The Don, it’s really nice to have the best of both worlds, since Yuji Ohno is still set to score the Japanese soundtrack!
At a glance, I see heads up to the green jacket show, the red jacket show and even the original Arsène Lupin! How cool is that?! There was even a scene in there with… zombies?
What do you guys think of what we have seen of the show so far? Do you like the Italian theme? The animation? The music? Let us know!
The blue jacket show will begin airing on August the 29th in Italy and will run every Saturday for 26 episodes. The show is still set to air in Japan this fall. Don’t miss it!
Edit: I notice the YouTube video for this has a tonne of dislikes, most definitely only because of the (less than stellar) theme song. This is a big opportunity for the show to further succeed in Italy, and it’s a shame to see so much negativity right off the bat.
If Nintendo made the Animal Crossing shop. Where they made real life versions of furniture/clothing/accessories from the game that you can buy for your every day life. Always wanted that big dot tee? No problem.
WANT YOUR ROOM TO LOOK TOTALLY STELLAR WITH A COMPLETE THEME? NO PROBLEM.
