Okay so, real talk… I’ve got some major Life Stuff™ going on at the moment, so I’m pretty worn out. I’ve been keeping my head down to try and answer some of these asks, but I think I’m going to wait and post them all at once rather than space them out. I want to wait until I feel better before I start posting so I’m in the right state of mind to keep up with all the new notes and things.
So yeah, vague blogging much? I know. But I figure you guys deserve some kind of explanation as to why things have been quiet lately. I think I need to take a step back so I don’t get overwhelmed (or two… or fifty…)
I might still do Sleepover Saturdays and things like that though, depending on how things are at the moment.
I loved TTYD and it got me into the Paper Mario series. But as much as I loved it, Color Splash ended up being my favorite because it had a lot of nostalgia that appealed to an older gamer like me (a 30+ year old). That and, though I never played Sticker Star, I overall did enjoy the game play (while I play them, I'm overall not a fan of RPGs. I hate the grinding and side quests, etc.).
(my opinion incoming)
tbch i think Color Splash is the most underrated Paper Mario game. similar to you my entry title was Super Paper Mario but i ended up playing the first two games leading up to Color Splash because of all the controversy (e.g. TTYD fans complaining that CS wasn’t their Paper Mario). while i enjoyed both the N64 and GameCube games immensely, i still thought that the gameplay and atmosphere of Color Splash was the most fun overall. the level design in particular was pretty stellar with interesting themes all around, the graphics and sound upheld their environments fantastically, and the writing is probably the best in the series.
that being said, the battle system, while not broken, definitely lacks the depth of the first two games (especially TTYD) with the lack of partners and badges. and as much as i love the Toads, i do wish characters’ designs were a bit more varied. interesting locals were a standout in previous entries, so to see that change was a little disappointing.
but i still think Color Splash, like the other Paper Mario games, is awesome!
tldr: i love Color Splash and i’m very happy that others feel the same way
Holy holy shit, thank god this movie came out because it was freaking amazing. And as always, before I start my review - major spoiler warning ahead. (seriously like, I’m going to talk about the whole movie so don’t read this review if you haven’t seen the movie)
Ok let’s get this on the road. The movie begins with New York City in ruins after the Chitauri invasion wayyyy back in the first Avengers movie with Adrian Toomes (soon to be known as the “Vulture”) and his salvage crew. After losing their cleaning gig to Tony Stark, the crew turns to crime and starts making alien weapons from the rubble to distribute all black markety. Now at this point, I was like “ahhh cool and understandable bad guy motivation and a stellar introduction to the theme of the maturity and the interchange between the powerful v powerless and ect… but like seriously, where is my baby Tom Holland.” And a long behold he came. (more like I did…that boy is fineeee….lol ok back to the review). The movie picks up back up to Peter Parker’s life with his phone filmed documentary of his time in Germany after fighting the Avengers at the airport in Civil War. Thrilled by this experience, he is placed under the “watchful eye” of Happy and continues his duties as our “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”. Although he enjoys eating churrios and stopping grand theft bike, it’s clear that he desperately wants to do more with his life by becoming an Avenger. Eventually, he meets the antagonist of the movie (Vulture) through interrupting gun deals, and nearly gives me and Rachel heart attacks from the near death calls he gets (ex: nearly drowning…falling to his death…the freakin boat scene…the building scene). As if dealing with NYC’s worst wasn’t bad enough - Peter also faces high school, first crushes (Liz Allen - played by Laura Harrier), homework (which he literally did nothing of it), socializing (Ned is the best ok…I also adored Michelle), and hiding his identity from his loved ones (Aunt May was a magical human being). The movie was incredibly done, and we could really see character growth in Peter by his choice to remain “close to the ground” at the conclusion of the movie. It not only brought Spider-Man home, but it set up his character in par to his comic book self. (Welcome home Spidey. Please don’t die in Infinity Wars).
I strongly strongly recommend this movie to all (even if you aren’t a huge superhero fan) because it was just so good.
-VULTURE WAS LIZ ALLEN’S FATHER. LIKE OMG I LITERALLY GASPED. THAT SCENE WAS SO GOOD AND WELL-ACTED AND I WANTED TO CRY
-THE BUILDING SCENE WHERE HE LEARNS WHO HE IS - WITH OR WITHOUT THE SUIT
-MICHELLE (did anyone else see that in the gym scene she was lifting a book/reading a book instead of lifting weights) (life)
-DADDY TONY ;)
-AUNT MAY FIGURING OUT WHO HE IS (”What the f-”)
-CAPTAIN AMERICA’S VIDEOS (THAT END CREDIT SCENE THO)
Overall, the movie was fantastic and I really enjoyed it! Comment what you thought, what you think might happen in Infinity Wars and any requests or any other feedback you might have!
If Nintendo made the Animal Crossing shop. Where they made real life versions of furniture/clothing/accessories from the game that you can buy for your every day life. Always wanted that big dot tee? No problem.
WANT YOUR ROOM TO LOOK TOTALLY STELLAR WITH A COMPLETE THEME? NO PROBLEM.
Hehe, of course, new footage from the blue jacket Lupin III show drops while I’m on vacation!
But, oh my! The animation is looking so wonderful! It’s so cool that the Italian audience are getting their own theme song. Regardless of whether or not you like The Don, it’s really nice to have the best of both worlds, since Yuji Ohno is still set to score the Japanese soundtrack!
At a glance, I see heads up to the green jacket show, the red jacket show and even the original Arsène Lupin! How cool is that?! There was even a scene in there with… zombies?
What do you guys think of what we have seen of the show so far? Do you like the Italian theme? The animation? The music? Let us know!
The blue jacket show will begin airing on August the 29th in Italy and will run every Saturday for 26 episodes. The show is still set to air in Japan this fall. Don’t miss it!
Edit: I notice the YouTube video for this has a tonne of dislikes, most definitely only because of the (less than stellar) theme song. This is a big opportunity for the show to further succeed in Italy, and it’s a shame to see so much negativity right off the bat.
This community really fucking sucks. Every time I log on, there’s some sort of fucking problem.
Listen to me. RP is for writing. It’s to experience different characters, and different people, and to enhance your writing skills. It’s to be free and cry and laugh and get mad when something happens to your muses.
It’s not about the fucking drama. It’s not about the fucking graphics. It shouldn’t be “who has the nicest color scheme."
I should be able to put up a basic theme with a white fucking background for a roleplay with an amazing plot and get as many apps as an RP with a stellar theme and a stupid ass plot.
But noooooooo, RP became all about the aesthetic.
Y'all bitch about how there are no RPs in the tags, but what the fuck are you talking about? There are RPs all the time. You’re all just too high and mighty for some of the things in the tags who very well deserve the attention they deserve.
Let’s talk about some of the stupidest shit in the community:
"RP isn’t about themes!!” but you won’t apply because you don’t like the theme
“We need more original RPs!!” but you apply to the same small town with a secret plot over and over again
“We need underused FCs!!” but you won’t apply for the RPs that don’t have 1D FCs
“We need diversity!!” but the people who bring in different FCs and characters get ignored
“Everyone should be active!!” but you’re all the first to drop a character.
Let’s move on to rude talk blogs:
Why do you exist?
Why do you actually exist to tear down someone’s work?
Someone is proud of their shit and you ruin it for them by being complete bitches.
Why? What have you accomplished?
If you’re that great and so much better, why don't you make a roleplay?
WHY ARE YOU SENDING QUESTIONS TO RUDE TALK BLOGS IN THE FIRST PLACE?
JUST STOP AND LOVE EACH OTHER AND BE FRIENDS WHY DO YOU ALL GO AND DO THIS SHIT
WHY DO YOU KEEP SECRETS AND RUIN PEOPLE’S HAPPINESS?
WHY DO YOU PRETEND TO BE FRIENDS?
WHY DO YOU LIE?
The amount of people in this community who don’t care about me, but care about the support I give them is astounding. The amount of people who lie to me and keep secrets in this community is just as astounding. But I’m not going to make that public. I’m not going to expose them or shit like that.
But I can say that in the 10 months I have been in the RP community, I now only have maybe 4 friends. Four. That’s fucking ridiculous.
You see, we can all talk about the changes we want and we can all talk about the RPs we want. But nothing is going to change or happen until we actually do it. Be the change that you fucking want to see.
In reviews/opinions, stop talking about themes and graphics. Unless it’s making the text hard to read, don’t mention it at all.
Stop sending in questions to rude talk blogs. If needed, I can even make a list of talk blogs known for hate rather than critique. If we cut them out, no point in them staying.
If you’re going to be fake friends to someone, cut it out. There’s nothing more shitty than realizing that half the friends you thought you had didn’t really care about you.
Support and include diversity and underused FCs if it matters to you.
